I love single dads romance when it is done right, and this was done just right.

We know Enzo from Killian's book as he is the bodyguard and best friend of Greer. They lived in Italy for years and while they were there Enzo had an on/off sexual relationship with a woman. We do not really see their relationship or her on-page but are told a few bits AFTER Enzo finds out that she was pregnant with his daughter and never told him.

Not only that but she committed suicide while the child was in the room and was left alone for a while. The little girl is placed in the orphanage and has developed selective mutism because of the trauma she faced (nobody knows how much she suffered through her years without Enzo).

Enzo steps up right away and becomes a doting father to little V aka Viola. He learns some sign language with her, and they are able to communicate on that level. Honestly, his love for his little girl was so precious. It was such a great thing to read about, and V is adorable.

We meet the FMC Danica who just moved into the house next door to Enzo. She used to be a bikini model who dealt with an aggressive stalker, and this caused her to develop anxiety herself. She quit her job and moved across the country. Started a new career as a personal shopper and one of her clients is a Senator....totally fucking creepy and you know he is NOT misunderstood in any way.

Enzo and Danica start out as friends, and it was nice to see them develop a nice foundation of trust and understanding before they dived into anything romantic. Both hesitate but they know what is at stake for both of them.

Danica starts having another stalker and you know damn well it's the Senator. I swear for a second I thought it was too easy but honestly who else could it be? There was a tiny bit of a moment where I thought it could be her driver Charles but I’m glad he was innocent and truly cared about Danica.
We find out he is just disgusting and obsessed with her. He works with the Polish who deal with human trafficking and has had women who look like Danica in his basement to do as he pleases. His wife is just as mad and knew all about it and attempts to kill Danica to hurt her obsessed husband, but she is killed.

It's just a fucked up situation and I'm glad Enzo was around her and well aware of what needed to be done to try to keep her safe before anything escalated to an insane level.

I was waiting on pins and needles for V to talk finally or say one word, but she never did, and I was a bit sad about it and I wonder if we will see her again or get a chance to hear her speak and get through her own trauma.

Danica and Enzo are engaged in the epilogue and Danica/V has a great mother and daughter relationship!

We did get a lot of Danica's older brother and his girlfriend issues and honestly I did not like him. he seemed selfish and honestly not a good guy to cheer on for? He loves his sister and so that made him a good guy in the story, but his own selfishness was such a letdown.

Honorable mention:
Enzo keeping hair ties on his wrist in case V needed her hair up. Precious.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5)
Trope: neighbor to lovers
Angst: 😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Three years since having a stalker, Danica still suffers from severe anxiety although her emotional support dog Dammit helps a lot. When she meets her tall, dark, and uber smexy neighbor Enzo and his beautiful daughter she's wants to have enough courage to be pulled out of her comfort zone again. But Danica is still feeling like someone is watching her... is she just paranoid or has her stalker found her again?

This was actually a super sweet story, very light on the mafia aspect, but very enjoyable just the same. It is well written, moves quickly, and I loved all the extra info added about missing and exploited children as well as the mental health issues it touched on. Enzo is super protective and all in with Danica pretty quickly, but Danica is very concerned about her past catching up with her and hurting the father and daughter she's come to care about. Enzo and Danica both have to learn how to have the courage to try for the happy ending they both deserve. Loved seeing all of the loved characters from the rest of the series and can't wait to see what's next!

“To the strong men and the even stronger women who bring them to their knees.” Enzo, Cala Riley

What I love about the duo Cala Riley, is their writing style. It’s easy, flows, and just makes you not want to put the book down.

They do a great job creating a romance that works and the relationship always seems genuine. And Enzo and Danica were no different. They flowed together beautifully and balanced off one another. I also loved the growth from each of them separately and also together.

Also the mental health representation from Danica truly made me feel seen as a reader and they wrote it in such a way that didn’t feel forced or just thrown in there. Enzo was a great, quick, mafia romance read that had equal parts spicy romance to plot and a twist at the end.

Plus the clippets of the other couples were a nice touch too. Really enjoyed this book, just like I enjoy anything Cala Riley writes.

It was anyway a really nice and enjoyable reading.
I also needed more in the epilogue..i need to know if Viola improved?

4.75 stars!

Enzo is the fifth book in The Syndicates series and features Enzo and Danica. Years after Danica survives a stalker, she still suffers from panic attacks and anxiety. Luckily, her emotional support dog Dammit helps her through the hardest moments. When she meets her sexy neighbor Enzo and his adorable daughter she realizes just how closed off she's made herself and wants to live again.

Upon discovering his daughter, Enzo has devoted his life to being the father she deserves since her mother is out of the picture. He hasn't given much thought to his love life until he meets the sweet and sinful Danica. She brings out his protective instincts and he loves the way Danica connects with his daughter.

"As I lie in bed that night, I can’t help but think about her. I was fooling myself when I thought I could let Danica go. The girl is mine. She just doesn’t know it yet.

With Enzo and Danica becoming closer, Danica's past comes back to haunt her and it will be up to Enzo to help her. Will she let him?

I really enjoyed this relationship centered mafia romance even though the mafia part was in the background. The story flowed nicely and had just the right amount of action, suspense and steam. Danica was such a kind soul with so much enthusiasm for the life she wants. I loved her down-to-earth personality and the way she melded perfectly into Enzo's life.

Enzo was possessive and subtly dominant. The way he fell for Danica and the part he wanted her to play in his life was incredibly sweet. He was an alpha male that protected his girls and it made me want to melt into a puddle.

"One thing she will learn about the men in my family. Once we find the one, we will stop at nothing until she is ours. Danica is mine. Now I need to convince her of it.

Overall, this was such a great installment to this series and I can't wait to read more of this spicy and adventurous world.

I never dreamt I’d ever find the true meaning of home.

Enzo, Enzo, Enzo. This dude just became my top Mafia man from the Syndicate series.

The reason I love Mafia romances so much is because the hero’s will burn the whole world to the ground for their woman and I am here for it! Enzo was no different with Danica.

Honourable mention to Viola because I love when a hard mafia man is bought to his knees but when it’s his baby girl, that’s even better!

Cala Riley never fails to bring the heat and the steam was making the pages sizzle in Enzo!

If you love Mafia, single dad romances then this is the book for you!

I think I may have said this before, but I need to get into gear and read all the previous books of this series. No, they can definitely be read as standalones but the question is why would I not want to know about every amazing guy and their leading lady that has came before?? These guys are absolute charmers and these ladies are for real kick arse. Even when Danica was in the midst of panic, she womaned up and got things done. And when needed, protected Viola at all cost.

But can we take a minute and speak some truth about the romance that was between her and Enzo? Instantaneous, beautiful and utterly sweet. They both knew better than to think there wasn’t going to be fireworks from the moment they first kiss. I saw it. Their friends saw it. I mean seriously, it felt like their love story was written before it even began. And by golly, it pulled at every one of my heartstrings. To me, this story was more sweet than fiery. And I needed that. I think these characters needed that.

Another favorite aspect of the story is the sisterly/brotherly relationship between both Greer and Enzo. You can tell they have a great bond and I would like to see how it all started for them. This is also where I am wishing I had already read Killian and Greer’s story already. Not only would I have read about Enzo already but I would love to know more about them as well. You can tell they have an amazing romance and something worth reading.

Mystery and romance woven perfectly into this amazing story. I adored it and look forward to what comes next and where this series goes. Lots of justice to be had and romance to be told!! 5 Stars!!

Omg this book, I loved it. It's swoony as heck, intense and the chemistry and immediate connection between Danica and Enzo is amazing! Cala and Riley have once again made me fall for their characters and I'm in so deep!

Every moment with Enzo and his baby girl Viola AND him with Danica had me melting into a puddle of goo. I'm WEAK for these mafia men and their more cuddly sides, I mean hello he is the absolute sweetest but also all hot and shit! What more can you ask for honestly?

I'm always so invested from the start with books by these authors and it was no different with this one!

"I never once thought I would have this. A place where the light shines so bright that all the darkness in my world fades away."

*I received this ARC from the author but the thoughts are completely my own.*

I’m a sucker for single dad romances. I’m especially weak for single dads with daughters. This is a very sweet book and I have discovered after reading this that a new favorite trope for me is: neighbors to lovers

I adore Enzo—he is one of my favorite side characters in previous books so I was excited to read this knowing he is the MMC. After discovering he has a 3 year old daughter he immediately jumps into the role of fatherhood without hesitation. His daughter is mute and he learns to communicate with her through signs. When Danica moves in next door there is an immediate attraction. Danica has a past, which causes her deep anxiety, and throughout this book Enzo is so patient with both girls. There’s no third act ridiculous break up! They fall in love, kinda instantly, which I don’t typically like, but it didn’t give me the ick in this. These characters belong together. Viola, Enzo’s 3 year old daughter is THE CUTEST and I love how both characters accepted Viola the way she is and both always made Viola their priority. There was never a point where the child didn’t come first.

As much as I love this I’ll be honest, the action/narrative plot is a bit ridiculous and cartoony at times. It was very evident from the beginning who the big “baddy” was but I didn’t care. I had fun reading this.

“Honey I’m like fine wine. I only get better with age.”

I have turned into a pile of mush after reading this book!

Enzo is wonderful, he is sweet, caring, strong, protective and so thoughtful! The way he is with V and Danica had me swooning on every page, he is definitely perfection.

Danica is such a loving and compassionate character, even after her trauma, she tries to see the good in people. Her service dog Dammit was wonderful!

I LOVED the mental health representation, how it was approached and developed for both V and Danica.

I loved seeing their relationship bloom, after what Danica has experienced, Enzo never pushed her or judged her, their chemistry was amazing, Enzo was so dominant 🥵, but I absolutely loved the way V and Danica bonded.

The plot was interesting, though I would love more action, blood, and mafia. It was an easy read, the way it was written made me finish it so fast that I kept wanting more.

ARC provided in exchange of my honest opinion.

I love coming back to this world. It’s always intense & so much fun. I loved that we got to see so many of the other couples in this one. It was great to revisit them & enjoy the banter they all have.

I loved Enzo & Greer’s relationship & the work they do. I would love a book on more of what they do. I really really liked Danica, & I loved Dammit. She was the perfect fit for Enzo & the best new addition to the family. I was really surprised by Enzo’s surprise at the beginning of the book but I loved it. I wasn’t as surprised by Danica’s stalker but how far back & involved in other things it ended up being was a little surprising. But everything worked out in the end & it kept me flipping pages until I had read the entire book in one sitting. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I hope we see more of Natasha.

Cala Riley have done another great job on wowing me with their work. I was so excited to read this.

I love the chemistry and how the love flows between Enzo and Danica. They went together so well and I loved reading about them.

Danica is a character you can’t help but love. I love the mental representation with her character and how it was written.

And Enzo is just so in love with her. I love his protectiveness of her and how hard he fell. One of my favorite things about this book was reading how they had to grow to let the other in.

Oh how I am loving how these books are blending together. These men of The Syndicates are seriously fire and I cannot get enough. With Enzo, his focus is on being a new dad and solely on that. But when Danica enters the picture, all bets are off. There is something about the connection that these two have plus with Enzo’s daughter that is just something magical. With that said, what is a story without a little suspense and drama. Danica comes with some extensive trauma and bleeds into her new home and life that she has created for herself. But Enzo will not let her fight it alone. As she is pulled into his world, there are so many epic moments between the families and banter. I loved how this story played out and I am looking forward to more within this world!

I am a complete mess of swoon melted goo after reading this. I have been itching for Enzo’s book since I met him in Killian’s story and I was not disappointed at all.

Danica is one of the sweetest souls ever. This young woman is so compassionate, loving and considerate - I instantly fell in love with her and her service dog Dammit.

Enzo is just perfection on a hot as hell stick. He is protective, loving and so thoughtful. His daughter, Viola, is the most precious gift ever.

I absolutely swooned over these two and loved seeing their relationship bloom. The chemistry and steam between Danica and Enzo is pure fire - I was fanning myself more than once over Enzo taking charge in the bedroom. But my absolute favorite thing is seeing how Danica and Viola bonded throughout the story.

The plot is fantastic - it has just the right amount of suspense and mystery mixed in with the perfect amount of hotness, heartfelt moments and humor. It’s not too dark, but not all sunshine and rainbows - it has the perfect balance of both. I loved how these two authors intertwined almost all the characters from the past books of these series so seamlessly without taking focus off on the main characters. Haruaki maybe my favorite out of the men of this series, but Enzo is definitely a close match for his place. I loved everything about this one - from the twists and suspense to the heart-warming and swoon-worthy moments - I couldn’t stop turning the pages and I didn’t want it to come to an end. I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table for Callum.

I absolutely loved Enzo and Danica's story. It was quite sweet IMO. And Enzo is just amazing with Viola and this is why I love it when children are involved in the story. You can see what a difference it makes to the characters. I loved that both Enzo and Viola are immediately taken by Danica. And because of what's going on with their relationship, it doesn't feel as dark as other mafia romances. I mean, it's still full of action and suspense. But I feel more for their relationship than all the other things. I just loved their relationship. I can't wait for more of the series.

(I received a copy of this book to review)

Trigger Warnings include:
mentions of depression and suicide, mentions of child abandonment, childhood selective mutism because of neglect/trauma, stalking/stalker, attempted kidnapping, anxiety/panic attacks on page, mentions of loss of loved ones, torture (on page)

This jumps right in there! Not in the violent mafia sense, in the “ripping my heart out” sense. We know mafia men make the best dads. But getting to experience it from the start of the book?! Now that’s an experience! Enzo is yummy in every way possible. He is the softest dangerous man I’ve ever read, and he’s perfect! I was never not swooning for this man! He’s already going through a huge life change when Danica moves in next door. Their quiet street is about to get a little bit busier! As a retired model, Danica is looking for some normalcy and privacy. Enzo became a protective father in a split second. And that same instant protectiveness kicked in when he met Danica. And Danica was just as protective of Enzo’s little girl. Just being in Enzo and Viola’s presence calms and steadies Danica in ways she didn’t think was possible. It’s been a long time since she’s felt that safe. And Ezno would do anything to keep her feeling that way. My heart barely made it out of this in one solid piece! Even if he was just mentioned in passing, Tristano always made me giggle, and I can’t wait for his book! I love this found family immensely!

Danica

Get ready to fall head over heels in love with Enzo. He is super protective and you do not mess wit him or anyone that he loves ever. He is after all a newly single father who has a daughter to love and protect and give a good life to. There is just something about Enzo that is so loveable and I loved that he was a bad butt but had a compassionate heart and he just seems like the perfect man in so many ways. And the way he is with his daughter Viola, you know why all the ladies love them some Enzo. Danica is equally amazing and I couldn't help but to think that these two were destined to be with each other before they even know who they were in life. She is absolutely head over heels for Enzo and Viola and they feel the same way about her. Then her extra character is her dog and trust me when I say her dog has to be the cutest sweetest scene stealing little dog ever. There is just so much to love about this book. There is even danger in this book thanks to Danica and her past. You have to read to find out what happens but I really loved this book and had just the best time ever reading it.

No other writing duo can give a slow build-up romance so much sizzlingly heat and chemistry without the couple even getting their hands on each other, with a tear and smile or two as well this is another great story in the Syndicates series.

Once again, the dynamic duo of Cala Riley took The Syndicates and created yet another 💯 completely unique mafia man my god Enzo is all tough and broody on the outside but is just a big ball of sexy, swoon marshmallow on the inside, to be fair all the men of The Syndicate have been, but Enzo pushed all the other guys aside in my opinion in this book. Enzo is an emotional read, but this time nearly all that emotion and tragedy are centered around Enzo and his daughter he knew nothing about for the first four years of her life, get the tissues out for little Viola as she will completely capture your heart, the mystery and suspense comes from Enzo's new neighbor Danica, ex-model now wanting a calm and quiet life after a bad stalker episode, but unfortunately for her, it looks like her nightmare isn't over yet, from the moment Enzo meets Danica there is an instant pull, and if you have read any of the other books in this series you will know that when these men find their other half nothing stands in their way. Be prepared for a couple of very hot bath scenes, and an underpinning really moving
story.

"May you laugh loudly and often. And may your relationship be stronger any storm.

All reviews posted at Tales of Love, Life, and Murder

This is the story of Danica, hiding from a stalker, and Enzo, her hot new single-dad neighbor, who also happens to be a vigilante mobster. There’s a lot going on here, but it’s worth it, I promise. Enzo is suddenly raising the toddler he never knew existed and trying to figure out how what his new life looks like when they meet. Dating is the last thing on his mind right now, but he’s drawn to Danica in a way he can’t fight. She’s been fleeing her stalker for years, but every time she thinks she’s free, he finds her again. Danica’s tired of running and being scared but she doesn’t want to endanger the sweet little family next door. She can’t stay away from Enzo, though.

The romance is pretty insta-love but the characters are interesting and the subplots engaging enough that it works. My only complaint is that Enzo is a sexy thirty-something who listens to cringey elevator music to unwind and that’s just, what? It sticks with me as a music lover and made me like him a bit less because why? It’s such an unnecessary detail and bizarre trait to give any character (especially for a hot, youngish guy) that it's distracting to me as a reader but I did enjoy these characters and their story. Love, love, love!!

Even though this is book 5 in The Syndicates Series, it can be read as a standalone.

This book is all about Enzo, he is a made man, and personal bodyguard to Greer, the sister to the Italian leader and husband to the Irish mob. Enzo is super protective and super sweet, however, he will hurt you if he needs to. He recently found out he is a father, and is doing everything to keep his little girl safe and make her feel loved. Danica is a former model that just moved in next door. She suffers from extreme anxiety and is slowly trying to get on with her life after having a stalker. When these two meet....sparks!

I loved every part of this book. It is fact paced and hard to put down. Enzo is super sweet with both V and Danica, he is worried about what a relationship will do to V, but he cannot let go of Danica. Danica is worried about her past and doesn't want anything to happened to Enzo or his daughter. They have a lot of mature conversations which was nice. Enzo goes all in pretty quickly, but Danica is not far behind. These two are perfect for each other. Danica fits right in with Enzo and V and with the wives of the other men.

The suspense part was amazing as well. I loved seeing the protective agency and everything that they do. I always loved how everything turned out in the end.

It was nice to also see the other characters from previous books, love Greer and Killian.

This book was sweet, light on the mafia, but still had an alpha male. Absolutely perfect! Cannot wait for the next one!

Also, my new favorite saying is dick drunk!!!

This book captured from the minute that Enzo met his little girl…

Enzo had just found out that he has a 3 year old little girl. He was instantly in love with her and did everything to bring her home. Now that she is home he will protect her with his life. It’s just the two of them against the world. And then he gets a new neighbor…😊

Danica is a famous model. But since she had a stalker and it got really bad, she quit. Now she is a personal shopper and just moved to a family neighborhood away from the glitz and glam with her service dog, Dammit (yep that’s his name lol) She suffers from anxiety and paranoia. But she is determined to live her life and do what makes her happy. Then she meets Enzo and his little girl Viola. And from the moment she meets them she feels an instant connection between them. But can she give herself to this new connection when her past might be coming back with a vengeance. Can she afford to put the people she cares about in danger…

I enjoyed this story. It was just one of the sweetest things ever. Danica has been through so much but she just keeps seeing the best in people and will go out of her way to help someone. And add in little V, man she broke my heart I just wanted to hug her. Enzo #sigh… He was pure perfection. He was patient with Danica and his little girl. He never pushed her beyond what she could handle. And he would do anything to protect his girls. Loved the story. Lots of romance, suspense, mystery, humor, and just the right amount of steam 😊

To put into words just how amazing and fantastic this book was will never be enough to express or justify just that. The emotions and the feelings this book will give you are abundantly many. The amount of love that will wrap around you and grip your heart possessively is never ending. Cala Riley is quickly becoming an absolute favorite Author and so far I have only been able to read Nikolai and now Enzo. But Enzo absolutely blew Nikolai out of the water. OMG it hurt to reach the end.

This is Enzo’s story and how he became a Single father learning to raise a daughter who because of past trauma refused to speak. Viola is a little girl who will have you falling in love with her instantly, she’s absolutely adorable. This is also Enzo and Viola’s story of how they met their perfect woman and female figure living next door. Danica is a retired model and hiding from a stalker and trying to move on and live her life. She never intended to instantly fall for her neighbor and his daughter nor become a part of the biggest crime family around. She also never intended to bring danger to their doorstep but with the help of her new family they are finally able to uncover the stalker and the danger lurking.

This book literally has it all. All the feels, instant love, protective alpha and family, twists, turns, stalker, danger, heat, and an amazing HEA ending. Seriously what more could you ask for. This is a definite must read and I highly recommend it.

This is a dark mafia romance in the Syndicates series. This. Book.Blew. My. Mind.
I read everything put out by this author duo, but this went above and beyond any expectations I had. When it comes to the mafia world, this author duo is one of my favorites. Their writing is absolutely impeccable. This book is binge worthy, I had it read in 24 hours. It has the steam, an amazing plot, and heart thumping thrill. It’s not often that my heart pounds anxiously during a book, but this one nailed it. So far for this series, I think Enzo is my favorite. There is nothing to not love about him. He is an amazing single father, his family always comes first, and he is so sweet and protective. He meets Danica, his new neighbor, and there is instant attraction. When she happens to run Into them one day in their neighborhood , she meets his daughter Viola and they fall in love the first time they meet.
Danica used to be a model, but after having a stalker and an attempted kidnapping, she has relocated and lives her life very privately. Enzo and Danica bump into one another frequently, and both feel something for the other. The two of them find themselves wanting things they never thought they were looking or ready for.
These two are absolute perfection.
They have made it into one of my top favorite couples!
If you like heat, thrill, mafia, alpha male… read.This. Book.
An EASY 5 ⭐️ from me !!

The first book I’ve read from the writing duo that is Cala Riley and right now I’m asking myself why haven’t I read any of their previous books! This author writes mafia/romantic suspense with plots that grab your attention from the start and somehow manages to create characters that leave you wanting to read more about them even once you’ve finished their book. Thankfully she does write series so that takes care of that problem - they’ve all just been added to my TBR list.

Enzo has just discovered he’s a father of a three year old and Viola quickly becomes the centre of his world. I melted into a puddle at his interactions with her, the love he felt just leapt off the page. He’s not looking for romance until he sees his new neighbour and same as with Viola, one glance is all it takes. But Danica is troubled. She’s spent years running from an anonymous threat and the last thing she wants to do is bring danger to his doorstep. Little does she realise who Enzo really is.

I loved the relationship development between the characters, not just Enzo and Danica but Viola and Danica as well. It was also great to read a mafia romance that wasn’t overly graphic on the whole violence side of things without detracting anything away from the story. I can’t wait to read more from Cala Riley.

Enzo is book 5 in the Cala Riley’s syndicate series. And every one of these Mafia men so far have all been 🔥🔥... so Enzo came in blazing and it did. Not. Disappoint! It started with a bang and kept going till the very end.

And the best thing about the Syndicates Series... Cala Riley's mafia men would burn the world down for their women!

* We first met Enzo in book 2, Killian. *

Danica is a former model who is now in hiding from a stalker. She moves next door to Enzo (her hot single dad neighbor, who happens to be a vigilante mobster. She also suffers from severe anxiety and gets support from her pup named Dammit!

Enzo is a made man, and personal bodyguard to Greer (the sister to the Italian leader and wife to Killian). He just found out he is a father and now is raising his almost 4yr old daughter.

Dating is the last thing on both of their minds/agenda... but when they meet, instant sparks! 💥 Both with a history and a past... and when past emerges... can they trust each other and can Enzo keep her safe?

Overall Opinion

Enzo By Cala Riley

If you loved Enzo in the previous book, you are going to love him even more here. I was hooked from the prologue right down to those final words in the epilogue and I loved every second of it.

Enzo's whole life changes after the prologue when he finds out that he is a father, and you see him in a whole new way. His baby daughter Violet, witnessed something so young which left her traumatized to the point that she doesn't speak, but his love and patience with her, learning sign language so she can communicate with him and his little moments with her where so beautiful.

Danica, former model, suffers from anxiety and has a stalker which, leads to her moving all the way to New York, to start over. She meets her neighbour, Enzo and V and she is instantly taken with them,I really loved how caring she was, and how she made an effort to learn sign language so she can communicate with V❤️ and let's not forget about Dammit❤️

Loved the relationship between Danica and Enzo, between V and Danica and the little suspense about her stalker and the steamy as hell moments 😜

Secondary Characters

Loved catching up with all the characters from the previous books.

Another great book in this writing duo's mafia world. Enzo has been one of those characters that we've seen throughout the series, and I've really been looking forward to his book.

We start with Enzo finding out that he is a father to a sweet little girl, but her Mum had killed herself when she was only 2. Viola is 3 years old, but it's believed due to some kind of trauma she is mute. I loved this little character, and the way both main characters interact with her is just beautiful 😍.

After Enzo and and Viola have got into a nice little routine and a few months have passed, they have a new neighbour, Danica and she catches his eye immediately. They both have secrets and baggage, along with them both wanting to do the best for the wonderful little girl, but they can't fight their attraction.

I loved the way Enzo was trying to balance being the best Dad he could be, but also wanting to build a relationship with Danica. We also have more going on with his business eith Greer and her husband, along with the mafia stuff sprinkled in there too. I was pleased to be back in this world, and I look forward to Callums book coming up next. I'm also hoping we get to see Tristano in his own book sometime in the future too.

ARC!!

This is a standalone in a interconnected series.
The book follows Danica and Enzo. Danica is a former swimsuit model, who has been running from a horrible stalker and moves into a low crime area, which she knows is being protected by the mob family.
He's, wait for it, A SINGLE DAD!!! He found out about his daughter years after she was born, as his family found her. She was in an hospice, being taken care of as the mother had just taken her own life.
Enzo remembered her, and their short time together, she hated what she did to her own daughter but didn't regret her at all.
Our beautiful Danica, has been through a lot, she has been terrorized by an anonymous stalker, who hasnt done her any harm but scared the light out of her.
They meet after she received her neighbors food, and they fall instantly. Their atraction was there, and chemistry out of this world.
She felt enamored by his daughter and him, since the beginning. They bond over her and eventually fall for each other.
They start dating thankfully because his family is as meddling as accommodating.
He realizes he can't live without her and won't let any harm come in her way.
Now she was accosted by a senator, been looked down by his wife and betrayed by his help. She knew he was bad news, and he for sure was.

She fought till the end, and eventually got her HEA but not before hardships and let me tell you. How Cala Riley writes it I was sick to my stomach, I felt unconfortable and everything and that to me is an amazing book. I transported to this world that was already created and actually was craving to read more.
Both characters developed throughout the book and it showed how much their love could get through it all.

Amazing plot line, and it had me on my toes.

Tropes: Single dad, heroine in danger, crime family, neighbors to lovers, tragic past.
