Betty, Phoebe and Ivy find out to their cost that it is hard to know who you can trust and who is an enemy; dangers lurk where you least expect them, lies and secrets are exposed and life can be cruel. Hard times make for difficult choices and push relationships to the limits.

On the gritty streets of post war Cardiff, the tangled lives of three women Betty, Phoebe and Ivy play out against a background of hardship, intrigue and loss; only their love and true friends will help them get through the darkest of times.

Ivy will soon marry Billy Thomas and attempt to escape the long shadows cast by her dead husband, the loathsome Jimmy Benson. Ivy is desperate to forge a brighter future for herself and her disabled daughter June, but can Ivy ever escape the taint of being Jimmy Benson’s wife and find happiness with the man she loves?

As Phoebe wisely observes, “when God shuts a door He opens a window,” and the turmoil of life on the streets of Cardiff will push the three women to walk difficult paths they never expected to tread.

This latest episode in a turbulent, intriguing family saga will tug at your heartstrings. Heart breaking and heart warming in equal measure, the struggles of Betty, Ivy and Phoebe to find love, and happiness on the streets of Cardiff will keep you gripped.
