The graves of the courageous are filled with the darkest of secrets.

With political unrest spreading like a plague across the world, black ops agent Brady Hawk and the Magnum team come across a coded file linked to the suspected source of the upheaval—The Alliance. However, the only person who can crack the code is The Cobbler, a forger located in Prague.

But when Hawk and an old friend team up to capture The Cobbler, they find themselves in the crosshairs of an assassin sent to protect the organization’s most valuable asset. As Hawk fights to survive in unforgiving country, a conspiracy comes to light that threatens everything he holds dear.

When deep state secrets are revealed, Hawk must make a choice—and if he chooses poorly, it could cost him everything.

THE FIRST SIGNS that I might like writing -- and that I might be slightly competitive -- appeared when my year two (or first grade) teacher, Mrs. Holland, asked my class to write and illustrate our day. Mine read like this: “The Red team beat the Blue team, 1 to nil. And I won.” The next 47 entries covered my exploits on the soccer pitch while growing up in Ipswich, England.

In South Carolina as a teenager, my dad told me that I could get paid to watch sports provided I could write about it. Sounded easy enough and by the time I was 16, I landed a job at my town’s daily newspaper and had a column on Major League Baseball players from our area. I also covered my first riot there at a sporting event -- and it’s safe to say I was smitten with journalism.

After graduating from one of the best journalism schools in the country, I took a job as a sports editor in South Georgia and learned firsthand about the passion of high school sports in rural America. I thought I knew before, but I didn’t. This was another world.

I also had the opportunity to cover major sporting events like the Olympic Games, the World Series, the Super Bowl, and the Final Four. It was a thrill!

But nothing was as thrilling to me as uncovering the truth in investigative assignments. I once broke a story about a prominent southern football team’s NCAA violation -- and found out the violating coach had committed suicide only a few months earlier. The story won a national writing award and stoked my desire to write about these issues. It made me realize that the sports world was just another fantastic backdrop for drama.

After writing non-fiction books with athletes, for athletes, and ghost writing for many others, I decided to enter the world of fiction writing. It had been something I wanted to do but never found the time. So, I made the time--and had a blast in the process.

I’m not out to become the next Faulkner or Hemingway -- I’m just out to tell a good story. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them!

Hawk is very busy putting out fires all over the world.
—Big Earv and Parker Harris are tasked with solving the murder of Dan Eckersley with political implications that his death might not be an accident and Senator Carlisle may be involved with a Russian diplomat named Volkov.
—Milos Kovar, an assassin (aka The Cobbler) murders Detective Arnaud. Detective Henri investigates. Bobby Besserman sends Mallory Kaufman to Prague to help Detective Henri. Detective Henri is murdered and Mallory is kidnapped.
—Hawk tries to rescue a German hacker, Kruger, with connections to The Alliance and discovers a list of code names on the dark web.
—Hawk breaks Eddie Tyson out of a North Korean prison with information about The Alliance. Hawk and Tyson meet with Dark Matter and try to get information about The Cobbler.
This is just a few of what’s going on in this book. It kept my head spinning! This was one of the best stories I have read. I hope everyone reads it. I can’t say enough how much I liked it.

A captivating plot, the cobbler has the information that is wanted.
Can he be trusted, his occupation would cause doubts.
Hawk heads his team to rescue him.is. caught in this web.
Is there a solution without having to choose.
It becomes personal when he could lose all.
Enjoy this series with another tense rescue for Hawk to do.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion .

Then it’s using the compatriots knowledge to try to break up an assassination plot to kill many world and business leaders. ENJOY!

The Cobbler

Another excellent story with Brady Hawk. Hawk gets involved with others trying to trace the Alliance. During the time he's working his program, big Erv tries to assist the CIA on another project.

First grade reader

This 4th book must have been written by one of the children in the family. It lacked the flow that the rest of the book possesses. It is like this was an after thought. I had a real hard time getting through it.

Another great. Brady Hawke comes across certain files, unfortunately they’re in code. Only one person can decode them, where will they find him. Fast action, fantastic

It's another great book in the Phoneix Chronicles series. I loved the banter between Big Earv and Harris. The Bolo ties and fashion jokes were funny.
