Jimmy Robinson was one of the world's most famous hunting writers and sportsmen. Born in Minnesota in 1897, Jimmy fought in World War I, and in 1926 began writing for Sports Afield Magazine. He eventually wrote 14 books on hunting and shooting. And boy did he have some stories to tell! It seems almost inconceivable now, but Jimmy was friends with and/or hunted with such persons as: Annie Oakley, Ted Williams, Ernest (and son, Pat) Hemingway, Spence Olin, Robert Taylor, Clark Gable, Jack Dempsey, Dick Kleburg, Gary Cooper, Harry Fleischman, Baron Hilton, Roger Preuss, Bill Dickey, and pretty much every top shotgunner in the U.S. from the '20s, '30s, '40s, and '50s.

If anyone was qualified to write a book on hunting adventures, surely Jimmy Robinson was one such person. And Hunting Adventures does not disappoint. I count myself fortunate to've found this hardback (and autographed) copy recently and it shall retain a prominent position in my shelves.

If you can find a copy (it *may* have been re-issued in 2011?), and you are a sportsman or fan of hunting, I highly recommend this excellent work. Jimmy Robinson passed away in 1986, but he left a large legacy behind. Thank you, Jimmy, R.I.P.
