The Dragon King has returned with a soulbond no one approves of.
Back home from their adventure in the Erithal Forest, life should get easier now that Xastrian and Velithor are no longer actively fighting for their lives. Instead, a whole host of new problems immediately threatens to consume them starting with Velithor’s complete inability to handle the demands of life as a co-ruler with his new mate.
With the identity of Xastrian’s would-be assassin still unknown, there’s no time for him to spend with his new mate. Not with a council looking to unseat him, an invasion from another plane of existence, and the Dragon Court doubting Xastrian’s fitness as king. Unfortunately, that also means that when Xastrian’s enemy strikes again, it’s Velithor in their sights.
Xastrian must maintain his power, save his husband, and protect his kingdom. He was never meant for any of this and certainly never wanted it. But he’ll die before he lets anyone take it away now.
Hopefully, it won’t come to that.
Eldrakar is book six in the Adradis Rising series and immediately follows the events in Eldrake. This series contains magic, intrigue, and a spoiled rotten omega king who is going to have to learn damned fast how to care about someone other than himself if he wants his chance at a happily ever after.

This book was previously published under a different title and pen name. It has undergone extensive edits from its original version.
If there’s one thing Devon likes most, it’s chaos. They have a chaotic mind and a messy house, and they throw their characters into every calamitous situation possible. When they aren’t writing, they’re editing or formatting other authors’ works, building websites, creating graphics, reading, playing video games, or watching Fortnite streams on Twitch. They like to stay busy. So yes. Chaos.
Eldrakar is the continuation Xastrian and Velithor's story just right after the events in Eldrake.
Veli and Xastri has just returned home after their ordeal in the other dimension where they were trapped in. Not yet fully recovered from the traumatic events that happened, their homecoming was fraught danger, betrayals, revelations and alliances from unexpected places.
There were so many things going on at the same time in this book and sometimes it got unnecessarily convoluted. There were sections where the pacing was a bit slow and some parts were not really required.
I did like the character development that the two main characters got as well as how their relationship was able to endure all the trials that they faced. I, however, disagree with some of the authorial choices regarding the villain. The villain being who he was felt forced in the role and the justifications and motive too shallow and contrite as the story went on.
Overall, the story was still enjoyable enough but could've been better.
This would be 3 stars out of 5 stars for me.
I received an ARC of this book and I have chosen to publish my fair and honest review.
Eldrakar is the second book in the Adradis Rising series. It's best read after Eldraker. Veli and Xastri are now home, the were trapped in an alternate dimension. But things are not as they seem. They are still not healed from their ordeal. Danger and betrayals are waiting for them when they get home. I seriously love this series. The character and world building is amazing! Overall, a fantastic addition to the series. Well written with pacing that just flowed and sucked me into the story.
I liked the continuation of Velithior and Xastrian's story. I did feel that the end of the war wasn't as satisfying as it could have been, and we could have done with around one or two more chapters to tie in the red dragons plot. But I liked most of it really well. Plus seeing other characters again was nice! I do wonder what happened to the humans at this point. How are they faring.
After their escape from the Erithal Forest and assassination (Xastrian), you would think Xastrian and his mate Velithor would be welcomed home, but no such luck. They are faced with naysayers, doubters, betrayal, and a definite lack of respect from the council and the Dragon Court. More danger and drama face Xastrian and Velithor...and the assassin is still out there. I love watching these two grow, although they still have plenty of 'duh' moments. Plenty of action and adventure, too.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
Great continuation of the series. Xastri and Veli are back from the other dimension. First order of business was taking care of Luri and the two bear cubs. Xastri wants to figure out who tried to take him out. As the story continues there is much distrust and action. Xastri really matures as the story goes on; even his dragon is amazed. The mysteries are solved by the time the end of the book. Love these two and hope for more.
Getting home was only half the battle, to say that Xastrian and Velithor had a fraught homecoming would be an understatement of epic proportions. Betrayals and revelations seemed to be lurking around every corner. Tragedy and loss was dogging their footsteps and it was a literal fight to the finish with another journey ahead. I cannot wait to take the next step with them.
I enjoyed this book. It continues where the previous book, Eldrake, left off. Great world building and wonderful characters. Xastrian and Velithor may have returned from the other dimension, but their continuing story is far from complete. There's danger, suspense, and excitement as these two face more challenges and trials to test them and their bond. Wonderful! 4 stars.
good story.. action packed.. love... interest.. curiousity.. fun things going on.. so many interesting things going on in this story. it was enjoyable and well written. i liked it a lot.
