2 and a half stars - maybe even less the more I think on it!

Bought the book and tried an assortment of recipes from it plus followed the guidelines as best I could and thought it time to write something.

What I will say is that it isn't original as Keto, low carb or diets with low calories have been around for some years.

All that Sarah Di Lorenzo seems to be doing here is putting them together with some minor adjustments, but trying to not use the word Keto for what is seemingly Keto and limiting portions quite extensively like 600 calories per day so many times a week on fasting days.

Pros:

1) Motivates people to lose weight.
2) Easy to follow mostly.
3) Successful weight loss stories for some.
4) FB Community Support Group.

Cons:

Limited Recipes:

Some are strange and interesting like the watermelon salad and tofu turmeric stir fry, but also bland like the hummus, tomato sauce and bolognaise, silken tofu and salad, salmon and spinach, cauliflower steak and a number of others.

Not into goat cheese, trout, onions or kale so had to make some changes from the word go!

Some of the recipes aren't something I would rave about, but the fact that the are healthy and wholesome made and makes them more tolerable.

I didn't like the Miso fish and thought I really would for some reason, but just didn't.

There isn't alot of recipes to choose from and unfortunately some aren't that great in taste whereas those that are - are cooked more often to actually replace the others that just aren't.

And I wasn't alone doing it either!

Seemingly Borrowed:

There is alot of Keto vibes to this diet with twists to make it less Keto like using honey instead of Stevia - natural sweeteners rather than alternatives. However, there are many aspects to some recipes that are totally Keto like the chia pudding and using almond flour and almond milk instead of...

Also, her protein bar and microwave bread are recipes that dont seem new at all just adjusted slightly from wherever to work in with "this isn't keto but low carb."

Budgets:

Not budget friendly for some.

Watermelon is less than $10 for a quarter and blueberries are like $8.00 per punnet.

Half a watermelon is on the shopping list most weeks and two punnets of blueberries - give or take.

For the first week it can cost $300 easily and the following weeks $150-$250 until one learns what works with the menu and shopping so it isn't so costly.

Waste:

There is waste for those that don't have families and especially in the first few weeks.

Half a watermelon is in week one and from memory there is only one cup of it in that week.

Seasonal:

Some of this diet is meant to be in the Summer or warmer weather not Winter because eating watermelon salad when it is cold is just not that great when soup would be more appropriate or a hot hearty full bodied dish.

Physical:

Dieting is possible for most, but exercising mightn't be for some due to certain physical ailments or restrictions.

Other Considerations:

This diet doesn't seem to cover issues like:

1) Haemochromatosis.
2) Peri-Menopause.
3) Menopause.
4) Intolerances. E.g Nuts.
5) Thyroid issues.

Am sure there are others out there yet to be listed.

Constipation:

When in Ketosis and on Keto this is something widely known to occur and it is also something that will happen on this diet from week 3 on, but mostly around week 5.

This as mentioned above has a strong Keto pull.

Be prepared and be ready to counteract if need be!

Maintenance: Weight Gain.

Some have gained weight back when in maintenance and lost it again going back to starting week one.

So, the weight doesn't stay off unless you continue this lifestyle.

SUMMARY:

I think some should give it a go, but just know this has a strong Keto vibe to it with a low carb twist.

Also, don't be afraid to look online for recipes that are low carb or Keto friendly because there are some really outstanding recipes on the internet which means this type of lifestyle doesn't have to be boring or limited to a cover to cover book that has only so many recipes that aren't for everyone when it comes to delighting the tastebuds and remaining on that path to losing weight.

𝕊𝕪𝕟𝕠𝕡𝕤𝕚𝕤:
In The 10:10 Plan, clinical nutritionist Sarah Di Lorenzo unpacks a science-backed, sustainable approach to weight loss and lasting health. Drawing from her own personal journey, she explains how stress, poor sleep, and unhealthy habits contribute to weight gain—and offers practical, manageable strategies, including intermittent fasting, to overcome these obstacles. This audiobook guides you through a 28-day plan complete with bonus recipes from the 10:10 community, making it perfect for anyone with a busy lifestyle looking to feel healthier than ever.

𝕄𝕪 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤:
I found The 10:10 Plan packed with golden nuggets of wisdom—especially the idea of fasting days, which I’ve already started incorporating into my weeks. Sarah’s clear, engaging narration makes the science and practical tips easy to understand, transforming what could be a restrictive diet into an inspiring, structured plan. That said, the program’s strict nature might be challenging for those with a history of disordered eating, so take care to adapt it to your own needs. Overall, it’s an insightful resource that helped me feel refocused and reenergized about my health journey.

Happy reading! x

This book is a grab bag of genuine but extremely well known nutritional advice (exercise! get enough sleep! eat vegetables and fruit!) and the kind of faddy bullshit that is constantly doing the rounds of social media wellness grifters (detox! ketosis!).

If you’ve literally never read a book or a magazine article or listened to a podcast or watched a TV show about anything health or diet related in your life, you might learn something from this book, I guess. It’s nothing new, it’s just another random seeing the $$$ in becoming a wellness spruiker.

This book includes all the basic information people need to lose weight. However, when I got to the actual eating plan I was horrified. It’s very restrictive and unattainable for most people. The author includes her opinions but doesn’t show any valid studies to back herself up. I lost weight by speaking to an accredited dietitian and would recommend people do this instead. Don’t waste your time with this, especially if you have suffered from disordered eating in the past.

Seen her on Sunrise and wanted to read what all the hype was about. Not too bad a book, though really not overly new concepts on weight loss, some good simple points, but her combination is mostly one of low cabs, fasting, and exercise along with sticking to the plan. Recipes and a ten-week menu plan.

Great common sense diet book with delicious recipes. Lose 10 kilos in 10 weeks with healthy eating and make this type of eating do-able even after the 10 week period - a way of eating for life.

Good tips, very holistic approach. Some good recipes but they seem so expensive, for middle class white women.

Revising my review: actually kinda dumb. Eat little meals with such small portion size just gonna spike you insulin like crazy which hinders your fat burning process and make you hungry and crave food. You will feel so deprived. But it’s ok she will you tips on how to suck it up and “use your willpower” to survive the 10 weeks. And there portion is like one size fits all like how does that work. It’s probably under 1000 kcal a day and you will lose water weight but you will probably lose muscles and gain all the weight back.

Her recipes are funny. Lot’s of salad recipes which requires 1000 ingredients that not only deprives you joy, it also deprives your wallet. The salads were not bad but wtf is watermelon and cheese salad for lunch?? Crazy caucasian-lead health conscious culture.

But some good advices on how to live a good healthy life in general which i respect.
