Amidst the turmoil across the world , wanted to pick a light read which can soothe my senses. After going through the blurb I felt it might be a cliched read but after completing it ,it does feel like a normal easy going pick.

The story mainly revolves around Shreya who has had a torrid time fighting the people around her. She doesn't believe in any kind of love any more and just want to focus on work. Then enters Vikrant ,the new boss of her company who feels an inkling towards her as he hasn't come across anyone like her. She resist the temptation to fall for him and story moves at its own brisk pace.

The tale is crafted well and does have its moments. The cover is good too but characterisation is a bit rushed so does the pace of the story. Also there isn't any thrill element as it moves on expected lines. A little bit of depth to the plot and protagonists would have made it more interesting.

All in all a good one time read that had the potential to be better.

I mostly find cliché love stories a bit of a drag and so get skeptical before picking them up. However, I think I picked up this book at the right time because even though the story was a very common one, I enjoyed reading it. This is a short read which I finished in like an hour over a cup of coffee and the simple and easy language just made it easier to go through.

I liked the characters in the book, not only the protagonists but also the side characters who added little perks to the story. However, there was not much development in the characters owning to the short length of the story. The only thing that I want to bring a bit of focus to is that I think the story was a tad bit too fast-paced at some places. There were times when a lot of things happened in a very short period and it took me some time to wrap my head around it. I would have enjoyed the book more if these parts would have been elaborated a bit. For me, the title of the book suits it perfectly.

Overall, it was a good and light read for me.

Having braved her way out of a regressive family, Shreya is determined to make it big in her the architecture firm she works at. Abhimanyu is her colleague and project partner who comes from a renowned business family. Shreya has a chance encounter with another businessman, Vikrant, who believes that girls try to get involved with him only for money and fame. Shreya and Vikrant start it off on the wrong foot. What is in store for them? Does Shreya fall in the same category of girls Vikrant has an aversion for? Does Vikrant have any ulterior motives behind partnering with Shreya’s firm? One Step Closer by Soniyaa Murhe is a simple romantic story.
This one is a very short story rather than a novel. I finished reading it in a couple of hours. The story is straightforward with no twists or turns. I wished the author had developed her characters better. Some background stories of all the characters would have added exciting layers to the tale. Especially it would have been interesting to read more about Shreya’s family and who she made her way of it.
In its present form, there was nothing much to enjoy. There was nothing new or refreshing about to story. It starts and ends flatly, without spiking any tension or excitement. I can tell the story had potential if it were written more like a novel, working on deeper layers with the characters.
I recommend the book to readers who enjoy short romantic stories.

Even though the storyline suggests a clichéd lovestory, the story hits straight into your hearts. The writing style is simple and beautiful that makes you connect more to the characters. The character building and the flow of story makes it a cute love story, also a quick read. The aspects of friendship, goals, empowerment, breaking stereotypes are penned down briefly that keeps the reader engaged throughout.

All in all, a good refreshing read! Definitely recommended

It is an office romance and gives a lil wattpad(y) feelz. It's a short-sweet lovestory where 2 strangers bump into each other (quite literally here), feel the attraction, have differences but end up falling in love. A simple, hardworking girl meets a rich guy which later turns out to be her boss. Initially, neither could tolerate each other, a lot of misunderstandings happen, then over the time, they bury the hatchet.

Easy narration has been used with dual POV. It's light-read and a good book to step into the reading world. It's not really different from the usual lovestories. But what was different about this novel is that the female protagonist was successful, mature, hardworking and fights for what she believes in and is famous in her line of business. While reading, some of the things were very realistic but some were way too unrealistic. The ending was a lil rushed.

Considering it's a short story (80 pages), it's very well written. The book can be finished in a sitting or two. 😇

Sometimes the biggest jerks in the world hide the biggest hearts 💖

This is a hate to love story, where two totally opposite personality people shreya and vikrant bump into eachother. Love had no more space in shreya's life whereas vikrant felt love would make him weak. Shreya absolutely hated vikrant for his callous attitude but unaware of the plans universe had for her. Shreya fought against her family and society to achieve her dreams whereas vikrant was a business tycoon.
I was smiling throughout and absolutely loved shreya's savage replies. Shreya is the great example of worst situation turning a person into his/her best self.
Sometimes you end up loving unconditionally , a person whom you thought you would never fall for.
Author soniyaa murhe has wisely chosen the words and the language is so simple anyone can easily enjoy reading this book.
This book also has a message that women are not just always meant to be saved or protected but are meant to be supported and cherished for who they are 💖

When you accept their past and their flaws that's when you truly love them.

Happy reading folks ✨

𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐑 𝗯𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗵𝗲, is a short tale of 80 pages and can be completed in just one or maybe two sittings.

The story is quite simple though. Vibrant and Shreya crossed their path or it's better to say hit their path on a completely wrong foot. Misunderstandings, this was only there in between them. Until that day When Shreya had to leave for some work in Indore, something happened and she goes missing. Now to find out what's the stories they both are carrying out as baggage which is forbidding them to “move on”. It's time.....

The narration is easygoing and can be read by anyone who loves to read. It's definitely beginner-friendly. Indeed a page-turner book. Fast-paced and well written. Kudos to the author.

Actually, it's kind of one of those regular stories like two heartbroken people who just somehow met my destiny, immediately are drawn toward each other.

It's a sweet, honest-romantic with a lot of emotional touch story, you might fall in love too.

The book opens up with Shreya, showing dissatisfaction on Abhimanyu's project work. She is a partner in a project with him. Niti teases her that she has Abhimanyu's name in not only her (Shreya's) head but also in heart.

She stumbles upon another husky voiced man. Though irritated at first, Shreya's companionship with the new temporary boss at the office grows up in another direction.

"With him being the temporary boss and Shreya being the project lead, he was confident that Abhimanyu would try to outrun her and prove his worth."

How can the project succeed?

What is Shreya's past?

Abhimanyu or the new boss, who is the ultimate love interest for her?

I liked the book very much. The narrative is simple and interesting. I recommend it to all for a crisp, short one time read.

The book one step closer is a really short book felt more like a short story about Shreya and Vikrant.

The book tales about how Vikrant and Shreya find their ultimate happy end.

I don't have much to write as I felt the story was extremely short and I finished it within like 15 mins.

The language of the book is lucid and the book is fast paced, and the narrative is from 3 pov.
I felt like the story offered nothing new, something which we haven't read before many times.
Although I really like the writing style of the author but the story and the plot was nothing new.
I would really love a different storyline by the author because I really liked her writing style.
That's all!
Recommend to new readers!

A quick short and sweet love story which had Enemies turning into Lovers theme. Completely beginner friendly language and written in third persons POV. There was a kind of spark felt between both Shreya and Vikrant from the very beginning itself. Even though their life was not so on good terms for them but eventually they started to wonder that strange kind of feeling they had for each other. I like those moments of comfort both characters gave each other without actually knowing exactly how they feel but still cared for each other. Finally it took a drastic incident to actually bring them one step closer to each other. It ended on a good term with little bit of Bollywood touch to it.
Not a bad start to my 2022 read, it was fun and quick read, Recommended too!

This is such a darling of a book. I love reading and re-reading the stories in here. The stories take you into an innocent, pure world. A world full of longings and promises and also romance. There is a tint of sadness in some stories. Not at all soapy-emotional. But just a little turn of phrase would give a beautiful turn to the story. But that's what writter does, she doesn't need huge paragraphs to make his point. She can make a story hit straight into our hearts with just a few carefully chosen words. I love the cover too. I think some stories are so realistic that one feels that the protagonist is none other than the author herself. Truly magical. And so romantic!

Short, sweet, crisp, lucid and mushy

A corporate girl with a sad past meets an angry young self-made rich man who happens to be her boss. The first impression was that these two beings can never tolerate each other. But life had other plans.
Considering the fact it is a short story, it's very well written. Plus points for the simple and lucid language that the author used. Somehow I am of the opinion that ending was a bit hurried and the plot didn't offer anything new, but overall, a good read for beginners, who generally shy away from books if it includes difficult language and incomprehensible words. Great work!

The story revolves around Shreya, Vikrant and Abhimanyu. Shreya, who has been through a difficult past, is very hardworking and passionate about her job. She has been working on a project with Abhimanyu as her project partner. Vikrant, a successful businessman, arrives as their temporary boss.
Read the book to find out about their relationships with each other.

This is a cliché love story. Being just 84 pages long, so it is quite fast paced and a refreshing read. I really appreciate the inclusion of the topic of orthodox thinking and dowry. Written in a simple language, it is highly beginner friendly. Anybody looking for a quick-cute love story should go ahead and pick this one.

It's a cliché romance of two broken hearts. Two emotionally shaken people who have failed in their previous relationship and have decided to be tough and never fall in love again, meet and gradually fall in love.
The language used is very simple and easy to understand. This book is great for beginners. And since it is a short read, it can be completed in one sitting. The plot twists are very great and keeps you engaged to the book. This kind of story is a soothing calm I would say. I loved how they met, misunderstood each other, fell for each other and then eventually confessed to themselves first and then to each other.

One Step Closer by Soniyaa Murhe is a predictable love story . Shreya , a successful person in her architect company has to work alongside Abhimanyu. She feels Abhimanyu does not have the potential or is not at all helping her with the project. Just when she feels men are hopeless, she comes across a rude man ,Vikrant who surprisingly becomes her temporary boss.
Shreya is a person who has trust issues and a lot of guilt because of her past . The story revolves around how this hatred turns into a love story for Vikrant.

The story is about two heartbroken, who are well doing in their professional life but in person, they are broken.
Shreya falls for Vikrant, but does Vikrant feel the same?

It spreads the message of accepting each other in love and being together in thick and thin situations.

Came across this book on Kindle and was drawn towards it due to its title. I have always been into love stories. Initially I thought this to be the usual love stories and it's actually not very different from others but the reason this stands out among the rest is due to the strong female protagonist who fought and stood out for herself to become successful. I was hooked to this book and completed it the same night I bought it. I would have loved if it would have been longer. Overall this was a great book and I really liked it. Looking forward to reading more by Soniyaa Murhe.

A beautiful story of Shreya and here way to life. Where she is battling with real life struggle where she is working hard to achieve her dreams and running away from love to hide the scars on her heart. And then steps in Vikrant Singh a charming young man who gets attracted to Shreya as she is unlike other women, the aura attracts Vikrant towards Shreya but she is afraid to fall in love because of her past.
What exactly is Shreya hiding from all? And will she let Vikrant let come one step closer to her?

But for some reason everytime they meet , it ends up in a fight. How would these two fall in love ? Its a treat to read their story of falling in love.
I loved the narration and the characters. Its a sweet and simple story which makes it easier to read and enjoy. This book is something you'd like to read after a heavy reading session to ease of your mind.

Cant describe the happiness I felt while reading this book. The book is an absolute stunner, it may seem bad as it involves a hardworking office girl and her boss, but trust me the story is really nice. The characters have different personalities but get along at the end. The author has done an amazing work planning the events and directing them. The dialogues between both the characters are really interesting. This book is suggestible for first timers.

It gives a little "wattpad(ish)" vibes. It's a cliché romance. Two broken hearted people who have failed in their previous relationships and have decided to never ever fall in love again, meet and gradually fall in love with the person and his/her habits.

This book revolves around three characters Abhimanyu, Shreya and Vikrant in a much relatable corporate world- office, boss, project, presentation and everything.

The story checks upon feelings that comes across people before accepting the love they think they're unworthy of and that the fear of loss triggers feelings one has been avoiding for a very long time.

This book is so small yet too meaningful.

The novel is a romantic story of a girl Shreya and how she explores her love life at her workplace. The book is a slow read and the reader must expect to explore the feelings of the protagonist. It is a decent debut novel by the author. It is written in simple language, hence easy to understand. Loved the work.
