I’ve been captured, abused, violated, and changed into a werewolf by a power-hungry man who didn’t care whether I would be destroyed in the process. But I escaped; now I am no longer that weak girl who took the pain and accepted it. I am no longer a victim. Instead, I am stronger, wiser, and a fighter, but most importantly, I am a survivor .
When 22-year-old Daisy Andrews left her family in Cornwall to start University in Wales, all she wanted to do was escape the ghosts of her past and work towards her future. She dreams of one day graduating with a degree in Law and being able to help those who have been abused and victimised the same way as she has been. Daisy wants to give those a voice when they are too scared to use their own. She didn’t plan to meet a gorgeous wolf, who makes her feel things she thought she would never feel again. If only he wasn’t her lecturer and the one thing she hates the most about herself.
28-year-old Michael Adams has dedicated his life to teaching at his old university, his pack, and leading his team of Pack Protectors. His team’s primary goal is to keep their pack and other wolves in their territory safe from any threat. When the alpha asks Michael’s to transfer to a local university, he has no choice but to agree. Michael has his life mapped out, and there’s no space for anything but his pack and team. That’s until he sees a rogue sitting on a bench in the university grounds; Instantly recognising this is no regular rogue, Michael longs to see her again. But when he finds the rogue sitting in his classroom, he realises things will not be straightforward if he decides to act on his feelings.
Daisy and Michael need to decide whether they accept their growing feelings for each other, risking their jobs and degrees. Or do they ignore everything in the hope that their feelings will go away? How hard can it be to ignore the primal need to be together, to claim what is theirs?
But when history starts to repeat itself and Daisy once again finds herself a target, can Michael stand by and watch the woman he cares for being put in harm’s way? Can he show her just how strong she can be if she only accepts what she has become?
I’m not usually a shifter reader, but I loved this one! There was so much more to the story than just trying to find their mate. This story is in depth and has lots of background and depth and a plethora of fun characters. I am hoping that this is the beginning of a wonderful series that follows more of the storyline and each of these wonderful characters!
Michael is the known protector and prominent member of the wolf pack. He is currently a professor and a liaison for supernaturals living in the real world. Daisy is a student at the university and a wolf with no training or understanding of her new self. She has gone through a horrible past and unwanted transition and is just trying to move on. They are drawn together by more than just the mate bond, but also because Daisy’s past comes back to haunt her, and Michael may be the only one to help her, with support of his pack. The story is intense, exciting and often surprising. I can’t wait to see how it continues!
Favorite Quote: “Michael is my anchor; he keeps me from drifting into a sea of panic.”
4.5 stars This was a super cute werewolf romance with some serious and sad moments. It had the perfect balance of funny, cute and emotional. I got super attached to all the characters and I absolutely adored Daisy and Michael's relationship. Not only did they get along so well together but they fit in so perfectly in each other's lives and with their friends and family. I loved all the members of the pack and seeing Daisy interact with them. I also loved the relationship that developed between Daisy and Michael's mother. Despite Michael being her professor, I feel it wasn't too big of a deal and the age gap was barely mentioned. I shed a few tears learning about both Daisy and Michael's past. They both deserved each other so much and they definitely both deserved to be happy.
I have read this book twice in the space of 3 weeks, it’s so freaking good! I have totally fallen in love with both Daisy and Michael. They are both such strong characters with off the charts chemistry. I can’t wait to see where their journey takes them and the rest of the pack in the next book.
Daisy is on the run from an Alpha whom bite her and turned her into a wolf as he believe she is his mate. Her Aunt and Uncle helps her hide with the help of a pack after explaining what had happened to her for 5months. She is in uni to study law where she meets another wolf but runs as she is scared as she is a rogue. But when she is sat on a bench she smell another wolf whom is her mate but she doesn't understand all the things a wolf should know. But she is on the run again nearly killer herself and her mate, when another student is stalking her and drugged her now and pack looks for her.She is found by Michael her mate at her aunts and uncles place where she learns more about the mating bond which she want to happen as soon as possible
Great werewolf romance with fated mates! Full of emotion from sadness to wittiness. Great fantasy read that had me flicking pages non stop! Action, twists, turns and written amazingly 👏
Rogue by D.E. Bartley is a thrilling start to the Blood Moon Series, blending forbidden romance with werewolf drama. Daisy Andrews, a survivor with a dark past, wants to focus on her future. But things get complicated quickly when she falls for her werewolf lecturer, Michael Adams.
This book is a page-turner with sizzling chemistry, intense emotions, and a fierce heroine.
If you love strong heroines and alpha males, Rogue is a must-read!
I picked up this book because it was recommended as a spicy, alpha werewolf read with a good plot. This book is not that.
The story is intriguing, it starts out well, the tension between the MMC and MFC builds nicely, right up to the point they decide to be together and then it all falls apart.
Michael has a reputation as a bad ass pack protector, but the reader experiences an over emotional and very dramatic 'cinnamon roll'; he thoroughly earns his nickname of 'cheese ball'. Michael responds to situations by throwing up, gasping and dropping to his knees. I did actually like Michael, but he was far from the confident, gritty protector I was hoping for.
Daisy is also likeable, but the overt drama surrounding her and her emotional responses (she also likes to scream, gasp and collapse), had me frustrated, not invested. Her flirty, over excitable behaviour was at times fun, but could also border on outright inappropriate.
The steam in this book is pretty non-existent until about 85% of the way through. Even then it's mild and much of it is referred to after the fact.
By far the most irritating thing about this book is the lack of editing. The inaccuracies are so unbelievably numerous; missing words in sentences, incorrect word usage, incorrect spelling, full stops in the middle of sentences, incorrect tense used, weird American style phrasing in a British book with British characters, and so it goes on, and on, and on! Also, the number of times he 'pulled her into his arms' and 'kissed the top of her head', became downright annoying.
Finally, the plot with its proclaimed twists and turns is terribly predictable and rather weak, and has not inspired me enough to pick up book 2.
