Rough Edges #3

Cherish Me

Rate this book
Eight years is a long time, but some feelings never fade…

When former foster kid and perpetual misfit Hazel Grey left Grapevine to follow her dream of studying Law at Harvard, it felt like the right thing to do. Even though it meant turning down the proposal of the only guy she ever loved.

Aiden Jackson has never forgotten the only girl that took him seriously instead of just treating him like a dumb jock, the one who stayed by his side the night his mother died to help him through his grief.

Now it's eight years later and not a single day has gone by where they haven't thought of one another. When Hazel comes back to town, the chemistry between them burns as bright as ever, but will that be enough or will old hurts from the past be too much for even love to overcome?

This book was good, but also could have been way better.

Aiden and Hazel are a cute couple but both have things to work out.. For one, I think Aiden could have gotten his child back if he really wanted to. He is one of two parents and did not sign over his rights for the child to be adopted. However, with his adoptive parent willing to have an open adoption and allow them time to spend with their son is a great thing. The fact that Aiden quit his firefighting job to go and live with Hazel so that he could also be closer to his son was a touching notion.

Aiden purchasing the book store from down the street and running that as a business was a complete random thing to have happen. It is good for him, since he doesn't necessarily need the money but yet has something to do to keep him stable.

Hazel's condition is mentioned once and then never brought up again.. she doesn't even tell her family when she is in town. So I am not sure why it was brought up other than for her to have a reason to want to see her son..

Little bit of loose ends, and tends to jump from date to date but not a bad read.

Eight years is a long time, but some feelings never fade…

Past mistakes and hurts occupy this story line but are worth it for the romance to move forward. The characters have a history that is described well and may, at times, irritate you and frustrate you and give you a strong dislike of one of the characters. Trust me though, it gets better. Grab your copy today and you'll see what I'm saying. Not all romance and love starts out as roses and sunshine.

Hazel and Aiden were happy and in love, until Hazel turned down his proposal to study. Now she's back and the chemistry between them is just as intense as before. Aiden has always remembered Hazel. Will they have the happy ever after they both desire or is the trust between them forever severed?...

Embers to Flames

Hazel and Aiden dated in high school, but her return to Texas stirs up old feelings and memories. The chemistry between then lingers and the embers waiting to be ignited again. This story was emotionally charged but intriguing.

This is book three in The Rough Edges Series and it is Hazel and Aiden's story. Hazel and Aiden have a long history together and they were so in love but when Aiden proposed she turned him down as she wanted to go and study law leaving them both heartbroken. Aiden never forgot Hazel and still thought about her and still loved her even after everything that she did. Eight years later and Hazel and Aiden meet again when she returns to town and the chemistry and connection between them is still as strong and intense as ever. Will they get a second chance of being together and having a happy ending that they both deserve or has too much time gone by for them to ever make it work and trust each other that they are making the right decision only time will tell what the outcome will be for them and their future. Another amazing book in this series and again so well written with great characters and a storyline that pulled you in and kept your attention and I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed.

Hazel and Aiden were great together but she ended it when she left for law school. Now back eight years later, feelings are firing up again but some major issues also need to be worked out. The characters and close family are done well with very real issues to deal with. A father with Alzheimer's, reconnecting with a son that was adopted out, history of divorce and parents passing. Everything is dealt with in a great manner, with true dialogue and feelings. Loved the chemistry of the couple and how they still are connected in their hearts, and continue while they learn about each other as older adults. The ending brought it all together is a great way.
