3.5 stars- stalking/spying OTT j/p protective H

This is a short read, but it still had some plot stuffed into it (which I wish had been developed more).

Vance HATES people- being good with violence and murder shows this. He’s at one of his clubs and he sees a raven beauty who looks like she’s out of her element even though she’s with friends. As soon as he sees her, he’s enamored and claims her as his. When a man touches her and she recoils, he approaches the man and breaks his wrist- he shouldn’t have been touching his properly 🤷🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️.

Clarissa’s enthralled by him but is hesitant. He starts stalking/spying on her in order to protect her. He does so many swoony things for her; at the end of the day, he worships her.

The fact that he’s so overprotective and OTT had me 🥰. If any man touches her or treats her badly… he better be ready to die 🤷🏻‍♀️ 💅.

This is a quick read. There were some things that bothered me- besides typos/spelling/grammar mistakes (like tense shifts), the lack of contractions bothered me lol. Hear me out- I prefer reading “I’ll go tomorrow. I’m going to buy tons of stuff he’ll love and he’s going to want” versus “I will go tomorrow. I am going to buy tons of stuff he will love and he is going to want.” It messes with my reading mojo lol and makes the writing feel STACCATO (to me) versus smooth. I’m sure this is a ME problem 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Also, I wish more things had been developed. I get it- this is short, but I still wanted more details. Sometimes I felt like I was rereading in order to see the transitions from one scene to the next. Maybe I was reading too fast?

Overall, it was good- I didn’t hate it. I loooved the stalking/spying/overprotective aspects (the underwear scene 🥵🔥). I almost got to put this under the “stuffed back in” shelf (but he didn’t *quite* stuff it back in 🥵😉). Will I read more from this author? Probably.

DNF - this doesn't make sense. The innocent-ish h has 1 boring conversation with a thug in a nightclub. He drives her home... then she strips down in front of her bedroom window for the H to sit in the car and watch. The dialogue was cringy.

I went out of order when I was reading this series lol. I started with My bloody valentines!! And had to backtrack.

Vance is cold doesn't wanna be around anyone he's in his own world with few coldish men. Until he sees Clarissa at his club he's already sprung for her and when he sees a guy making her uncomfortable and touches what's his all hell breaks loose no one touches his. The spice between them is hot I kid you not even for a novella when a man stalks you and puts his cum on your lips as you sleep?!!!! Holy!!!

This book was surprisingly good! I was looking for a quick read because I really couldn’t afford to be up all night reading yet again this week, and boy, did this book deliver! Despite its short length, it’s kind of a bit of a slow burn, at least on the heroine’s side (Vance took one look at Clarissa and decided she would be his. It just took some convincing on his part XD)
I would have given this five stars, but there are far too many typos, and they did pull me out of the story a few times, where I had to scratch my head and then say “Ohhh that’s what the author meant”.
Other than that, a great bite-sized dark romance!

"Stalk Her" is the story of Clarissa and Vance.

A crazy hero, an oblivious heroine, and their paths cross when he saves her life. He begins stalking and protecting her- she is initially hesitant and decides to take a chance on him, and after many taboo scenes they get their HEA.

Enjoyable with dark themes.

This was definitely different and not your normal romance book, the H was a OTT alpha killer and I loved how the h had a spine and told him to f**k off numerous times.
This wasn't a bad read and quite enjoyed it but as it was a short book there was not much character background or development and the ending was then was a little abrupt for my liking.

Absofuckinglutely not. I haven’t 1 stared a book in forever… BUT HERE WE ARE. I can’t even do a fucking review because trying to read this novella the past 7 days has made my brain melt. BUT I was taking notes of the ridiculousness at some way through. So lemme copy and paste that here. K.

Hot chocolate and bubblegum is fucking weird (that’s what the characters smell like)

Unnecessary words creating clunky and bulky sentences, repetitive words
Misspellings
“Guns are easy they don’t need talent…..[using a knife] takes skill”. I mean yeah sure, I guess anyone can pick up a gun and have perfect aim, precision, and breathing techniques? Knowing how to load your magazine, disassemble and clean, reassembling your gun takes knowledge too. Knowing how to use your iron sights, if we’re talking long range there’s skill going into that mark like adjust for distance, elevation, wind.. meanwhile Like we haven’t all cut up chicken and know to put the pointy end into flesh… if you want to argue knowledge of anatomy, that’s not exclusive to blades so you still lose me there. I understand what the author is trying to do, to a degree… but just say it’s about passion. That’s just textbook talk about stabbings. None of this makes me swoon over this MMC. I’m not compelled or charmed.
God I seriously considered DNFing at 40%. I’ve fallen asleep 3 times already. (Haha, by the day I finished this, I had actually fallen asleep 7 times)
It has yet to be mentioned that he’s showered since beginning his stalking and sleeping in his car. Even regular fucking stalkers go home and practice decent hygiene—Joe Goldberg anyone? Like my face would not go anywhere near unwashed 🐔

These books are pure kinky smut but I'm not complaining. Vance is a cold and ruthless bastard but when he sets his eyes on Clarissa at his club, his stone cold heart beats again. For her. When Clarissa is approached by another man, he steps in and claims her. Devours her. The end.

If you're looking for a deep and passionate story, this isn't it. But if you're looking for something filthy with a possessive and obsessive hero and a cute heroine, go for it! Mila writes short smut that sometimes you just need.

I thought I would like it, but not for me.
The heroine was just too much. Can’t I find a book where the heroine is not showing herself to the hero on the first night she meets him?!?!? I think the heroine get shot for everyone. I did not originally think this, but the more I read, I started thinking differently.
I love OTT heroes, but this heroine had too much history and ruined it for me.

Vance es definitivamente un héroe memorable, un asesino sin disculpas que se obsesiona con Clarissa y la convierte en el centro de su mundo. Me encantaron las vibes del gato y el ratón entre ellos. Realmente disfruté cómo no tuvo problemas para deshacerse de los hombres que la molestaban usando su propia forma especial de justicia.

En general, esta fue una historia completamente divertida y entretenida, con escenas íntimas bien escritas y un gran epílogo.

This was super short and instant love/obsession. It was great smut and I am a sucker for a psycho obsessed with his woman. It just wasn't long enough. There was no meat to the story. It was great for a short read but the characters are very one dimensional. That's fine if all you want is some quick and dirty smut but if you want a plot this is lacking. Would love to read this story with more length, depth, and substance added to it. I would definitely give this author another shot. I will keep my eyes out for her books.

This author put a story out that I wasn’t expecting from her, but I loved every minute of it!! She does dark and twisty with the best of them. Vance is a real psycho but he has a soft spot for Clarissa. He says it’s in the name of protecting her but really he is stalking Clarissa. From the moment he met her Vance has had an irrational need to protect Clarissa. He takes her to a secluded cabin with no neighbors around for miles will she succumb to him?

Quick/steamy/intense/ stalkery

This was quick and honestly I really loved it.

Some things:
-Vance is… intense. He’s crazy and a murdery H and he is possessive and I love it. He cuts off a guys finger that he touched his woman with.
-Clarissa is ok. Lol honestly she is just the h and I did like her I just don’t remember much about her bc I loved Vance so much hahaha
-Quick- this book was a fast read…. Too fast… literally just stops and BOOM, 5year epilogue- WHATTTT?! Not happy. This book is written so well I mean, why stop right there? Gimme some more meat make it longer this author totally could’ve.
-Spanking, tying her hands, good girl, good little slut, all the dirty talk and I loved it.
-One scene…. So they get done, he finishes in her and then has her sit on his face 🤭 and y’all… it was so hot lol. I felt ashamed that I thought that was so hot.
-Stalkery- he watches her from his car, get into her house, gets off watching her sleep- wipes his 🥜 on her lips lol.

The sheer number of errors makes me think that it either a) wasn’t professionally edited at all, or b) it was a cheap, lazy editor. This book is rife with everything from poor grammar to formatting issues to straight-up misspellings (Is it Michael, or is it Micheal? Depends on which sentence you’re reading). It could have been a 3-star read for me, but the frequency with which I was distracted from the plot by the poor writing dropped the score.

That said, the plot was just ok. Not enough story to be realistic or engaging, and not enough smut to just be considered erotica. I hate being so harsh but there was really very little I enjoyed, and I was left massively unsatisfied. Part of me hopes the author doesn’t see this because ouch. The other part hopes she does, because maybe then she can invest in her writing by hiring an editor.

This book was awful. The guy in this book Vance works at a strip club of sorts. This woman goes to the club with some women. Vance sees her with her black hair and he nicknames her “Raven”. He becomes obsessed with her. He gets into her apartment without her knowing, he practically kidnaps her taking her to a cabin. The way he talks is vulgar, how he acts, he hurts anyone that touches her. I didn’t like this book at all.

Why are the psychos always so hot?

Mila gives us another banger with tons of heat and that obsessive, possessive alphahole she does so well. Clarissa has never had anyone to take care of and love her. Until she catches the eye of one of the most dangerous men in town. For her, Vance is soft and sweet and loving.
