Harper

Is he beyond my help?

Love is for suckers. A false construct that has long since served its purpose. Life is meant to be lived. Be in the moment and be happy.

When I’m asked to help Drogor, it’s not really a choice. If I don’t, they’ll attempt putting him in stasis, which will probably kill him. I can’t have that on my conscience.

I’m not sure I can help him, but I must try. The longer I’m around him the more I learn of him, the more I wonder, have I been wrong my entire life? Is love, true love, real?

Will I save him, or will he save me?

Drogor

Am I scarred deeper than my body?

I dream of freedom. The past is gone, now is hell, the future is the only hope I cling to. Until she walks into my cell.

I know, the moment I see her, smell her, taste the air of her approach. Mine.

We belong together. I remember her, but she doesn’t recognize me. They have done experiments, twisted my body. But now I wonder, is it more than my body that’s scarred? Is my soul too scarred for her to recognize?

When I talk to her of love, she rejects the very idea. I’ll show her, I’ll prove to her, we belong together.

Harper and Drogor . . .

I really enjoy this series of stories. The author’s world-building puts the reader right there with the Zmaj warriors and the survivors who are trying to help them. The Zmaj have been cruelly experimented on and genetically modified. Harper is being asked to help heal the Zmaj warrior Drogor who has lost trust and hope. They don’t want to have to put him in stasis because he would likely not survive.

Harper is willing to try to do what she can for Drogor. Her attempts to talk to him seem to help somewhat. And when he identifies her scent – he knows she is his. Can he convince Harper that they belong together? Will Harper and Drogor accept each other as mates?

This is a wonderful series, full of emotion and terrific characters who have been through so much and still have the capacity to love. All of the people there show their courage in pulling together to make a strong community together. And the Zmaj have always been beyond amazing. You won’t want to miss this series!

loved this next book in this series. It was more involved with the dynamics of fated love, disbelief, heartbreak, despair and desperation than what experiments had been done to drogor. This one really dived into the mental health aspects of what's happening in the bunkers. Well written and really grabs your interest. Highly recommend

Drogor is physically & mentally scarred to the point that he is in a near catatonic state and Harper is his emotionally damaged therapist who has to very quickly bring home out of his mental pain - the community in the bunker is relying on him to be able to help provide supplies from the radioactive world outside. If Harper fails, then Drogor will be put into stasis which he may or may not survive. Drogor realizes she is is one true love and has memories of their time before she died as his past mate - memories which Harper unfortunately doesn't share. Harper keeps rejecting Drogor's love for her, but he would do anything for her, even if it means endangering himself physically. These two damaged characters desperately need one another in order to save themselves and have a HEA.

This is an interesting addition to the series, but I'm not really sure I like the new over-arching plot. The part about the new Tajss religion is starting to get a little weird. I have always liked that some of the half-human kids had a special connection with the planet -- but the past-life stuff is just getting too strange for me.

I was glad they finally shut down the black market, because those folks were really horrible. I get that it is likely that some of the humans would be evil, but the black market folks just seemed like they had no soul, and would hurt/kill anyone who got in their way.

Harper was hard for me to like. She was just so determined to believe that there was no such thing as love, and that it was only a chemical reaction in the brain. She was fine with lust and sex, but didn't believe that anyone would actually stay in love with another person for a long period of time. I get that she was badly hurt as a child, but she had seen good relationships develop all around her -- and she continued to reject that they were possible. She did finally get past that, but not until very near the end of the book.

I liked Drogor, and thought his story was sad. I also liked that he immediately knew that Harper was his mate. I thought the stuff about his first mate being reincarnated in Harper was weird, though. Like I said earlier, past-life stuff is just too far out there for me -- even in a sci-fi alien fantasy romance.

This book gets 3 stars from me.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

This a compelling read, great book in this amazing series
Every one of these books have been so cleverly written the characters and the plot always so different and the plots have been solid and compelling holding the readers attention from start to finish, this was no different and I assure you that once you begin reading you will read in one sitting to discover the outcome.
Harper has no faith in love it is simply for fools and when asked to help Drogor to save him being put in stasis she has no option so assists him, the longer she spends with him the more she feels her heart melting and love staring to raise its head.
Drogor knows that he needs help to remain free and when he receives help from her, he knows as soon as he catches her scent that she is his and his alone. He will do anything to keep them together, he remembers her but she has no recollection of him which is a little disconcerting.
His body has changed he is badly scarred from the last time that she saw him, will se reject him or be disgusted by him he will have to find out by speaking with her, he will have to prove to her that they are meant to be together.
It is written in the starts; it is fate and he knows that he cannot let her walk away as life would not be living if his mate was not at his side.
A romantic and challenging read that you will read and enjoy every moment of I assure you it will be a one sitting read.

arper is a human psychologist who doesn't really believe in love and relationships between a man and a woman. She believes in indulging feelings of the moment and passionate encounters but not fated lifetime mates. Her friends have found their alien mate and seem very happy. Then Harper is called in to help Drogor, an alien who has been experimented on and tortured by the people who ran the black market. Drogor has withdrawn so much, he refused to respond to anyone. With the food shortage, if he doesn't start helping out the community, they will be forced to eliminate the extra mouth to feed. The human will try to put Drogor back in stasis even if it means it might kill him. Harper is desperate to make a connection. She feels like the horrible things that Drogor was forced to do because of the drugs that were forced on him has caused him to withdraw. She wants to give him new connections to help him feel like he wants to live. When she touches him and claims her as his, she has succeeded far beyond what she expected.

Drogor doesn't have many memories of the past and what happened to him. What he does remember, he refuses to talk about and think about. This forces him to withdraw into himself. The Harper comes along and his beast recognizes her. She is familiar and his. Memories from his distant past are coming forward. He had had a mate for a few years when she was killed in the big conflict. She had promised to come back and demanded that he wait and look for her. Drogor knows that Harper is his mate reborn. Now he just has to convince her.

Drogor has been found, kept and used by the people who ran the Black Market. He has been used and to a certain extent he has let them do so because he had already watched his treasure leave him, never to return. She promised him but he couldn't quite believe she ever would. So he lived a half-life in the shadows. He still knew right from wrong and he tried as hard as he could be honourable but it was a struggle. That was untli he was freed but is it truly freedom when you are still left in a cell with guards at the door. He was just waiting to pass away when she came in. His treasure, she was different but she had returned to him, hadn't she? Harper basically sells sunshine. She has come from nothing and while she loves the women in room and their associated mates, love is not for her. Just all chemical reactions and hormones. She doesn't believe in love but she does believe in people and helping them. Which is why when she is called in to try to get through to the catatonic Zmaj she agrees to help him. She wants nothing more that to make him better, or is there? There is a lingering sense of déja vu about him she cannot put her finger on. What's with this mine business?
I love these altered Zmaj, if I'm honest more than the originals. Cannot wait to find out who is next and what will happen in the bunker as we all know something has to happen soon!

Harper is convinced that love is for suckers and that a hookup is all you need to get everything out of your system so you can move on. When she is asked to try and help damaged Zmaj Drogor she feels compelled to help because failure means he will be put back into stasis. The more she is around him she starts to wonder if she is wrong and could true love be real? Drogor dreams of freedom and as soon as Harper walks into his cell and smells her he knows she is his. They belong together and he remembers her but she doesn't recognise him - whilst he knows his body was experimented on and he has been adapted he starts to wonder if his soul is too damaged for her to recognise? His talk of love is rejected by her - now he needs to prove to her in any way he can that they belong together and she is his.

I loved this story with the feisty Harper and her determination that love didn't exist and the equally determined Drogor who knew that belonged together and he just needed to do something to prove it to her. It was great to see how desperate he was and that he took such drastic action to show her that they belonged together. I enjoyed the reincarnation angle and the fact that their souls could recognise each other if they were open to it. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

I loved this book and the characters in it and made you believe that love has no bounds and if you let it in your life can be different. Harper is a trained counsel or and is told to speak to Drogor and bring him out of his depression but she wonders if she can help at all but if she doesn’t they will put in back in stasis which could end his life. Drogor was a strong zmaj warrior who was captured and tortured and experimented on and altered into the monster he is today and he has had enough of the pain, horrors and only wants to be free but that’s not going to happen so I’ve given up trying to live until a human female enters his cell. Harper is her name and she wants to help but can he trust her when she is like the others but when she turns to leave he catches her scent and he remembers her, she is his treasure and mate. The more they talk the closer they get but she tells him she doesn’t believe in love not any more but she is starting to change her mind and with this thought Drogor has a mission now is to prove that there love was real and can still be if they try. Great book and a brilliant series.

I really enjoyed this book. This is the fourth book I've read in this series (there are quite a lot that I've missed!). Good world building. Harper is asked to help heal Zmaj warrior Drogar. He's given up and doesn't move or eat. After what he's been through, he doesn't trust humans and just feels numb. If Harper doesn't help him, they'll have to put him in stasis- which would probably kill him- and she cannot be responsible for that. She agrees and tries to reach him, talking to him to put him at ease. Just as she leaves for the day, he catches her scent and the commanding thought pushing beyond his despair is that she is his. She doesn't believe in love, but it doesn't stop her attraction to Drogar as she keeps trying to reach him. This story is a journey and healing for both of these characters. 4 stars.

"Can I not lie to save a man’s life?"

Drogor has essentially retreated within the safety of his own mind. He's the Zmaj we caught glimpses of in the previous few stories, but here we finally get to bring him into the fold, and discover how the black market operators were forcing him to work with them.

Harper is a therapist who believes in open honest communication, is prone to saying shocking things, sometimes just for fun, but isn't the world's biggest believer in love. The Zmaj on the other hand believe in fated mates, and instantly knowing when you've found your one.

This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read moves the overarching arc forward, adds to the development of Tajss as a world, and explores live and relationships not just as they unfold, but as they are affected by our past relationships, and the memories and baggage we carry forward with us.

Experiment DRO9OR: Red Planet Dragons of TAJSS (season Two) Book 24

Wow! The latest book is out. It was worth the wait.
Harper is the bunkers physiologist when she is asked to help Drogor, the Zmaj that we have been seeing in the other Experiment books. Now it's his and Harper's turn to find/remember those love. This book did not have a lot of one on one time. It had more world building, showing us readers how the planet is coping with the radiation. There is good news there is a book 25 it did not hint at who the couple will be. But I'm very excited to read it when it comes out. Each book is about a H and a h and how they come together. Each book can be read in any order but I recommend reading them in order that way you get a better experience.

It was an okay read for me, some parts were really good, but it just kind of dragged for me. I really wanted to like this story more than I did. Drogor was a more sympathetic character, and I had difficulty understanding the whole Harper emotional distancing thing she did. I mean, I get it, her childhood reeked, and she was damaged, but she was a freaking counselor! Some parts dragged, and the constant repetitiveness of the reincarnated soul mate things, the new Zmaj religion, the struggle to survive in the underground bunker, on top of Harper's struggle with emotional connection....it was just a lot, repeated too many times, in a plot that took too long to get to the point. I struggled to finish this one, which is odd for me when I read this author. I'll still read more stories in this series, for the most part, they've been enjoyable, just this one, not so much.

Drogor had been used and abuse by the Black Market locked in a cell then she enters.
Soon after the humans entered the complex those who would run the Black Market found Drogor captured him and used him for his strength to do things that they could not including going outside where he could tolerate the radiation for short periods using him to raid the wreck of the ship to scavenge its food stores and grab anything they could sell for gain. When they were taken down Drogor found himself in a cell not knowing his future then she walks in and he knows he has found his Treasure but Harper does not believe in love.

Harper is their only fully trained counselor and she has been asked to try to bring Drogor out of his depessive state. Food supplies are running low and they need him to help get supplies for the bunker. When she goes into Drogor’s cell he is slumped on the floor, head bowed. and tail lying limply by his side.
Drogor is not interested in the humans and does not trust them. He is just waiting to escape until he caught her scent and recognized her as his.
The Red Dragons of Tajss is a wonderful series and I have read about 2/3 of them. This story had a somewhat slow beginning but ended with a sweet HEA.

Drogor has been in the past couple of books but we really didn’t get much about him. Now we find he was forced t9 work for the black market by being drugged and lied to. Now that the black market is destroyed, he wants to escape all of the horrible humans but that is not possible. So, he just shuts down. That is where Harper comes in to help. He is so emotionally gone but she is the only person he is paying any attention to. He starts to come out of his depression and realizes she is his treasure. They have to figure out how to save all of the humans as well as Drogor. This is an emotional roller coaster but worth it!

I love this series. This story is about Drogor and Harper, it's funny, suspenseful, and steamy. Drogor is one of the Zmaj who was experimented on and lock away in cryopods. Drogor is awaken by evil humans and forced to work for them. Drago feels himself giving up. Harper is the bunker physiologist and she's called to help Drogo. Drogor finds that he is starting to feel again since meeting Harper and with her scent alone knows that she is his Treasure. He remembers Harper but she doesn't remember him. Will Drogor be able to get Harper to love him again even with all his scares? Will Harper accept him again or reject him? I can't wait to read another story

Love the books wish they were longer read.

I read each book as soon as it comes out. The base story is AMAZING. All the different segments from the first half of the ship wrecked survivors, the second half and the single girl with multiple mates kept my imagination engaged. I got into the story of before the devastation people remebring, hoping to decode books and some tech. It feels like the base story has gotten stagnant. What happened to the others? I'm not a super fast reader but the time it takes to read a book takes maybe half a day on and off. I wish the stories were a bit longer about the world around them.

Wow! The story explored soulmates finding one another across space and time and Harper is his. I loved the idea of soulmates and I liked it that the MCs though they are not the same has found each other. He remembered but she does not and that is heartbreaking. But when she finally did and they culminated their love, that is one wonderful scene. The reunification of two lost souls.

I loved the Zmajj especially when they found their treasure. This story is more special, because our MC Drogo has found the Treasure he had lost.

This story was “mystically sweet” with layers of grief and pain that the characters overcame. Drogor was another of the “experiments” and Harper had deep emotional trauma from before the ship crashed on Tajss. Together they find their way to wholeness. There is a strong theme of love through the ages and reincarnation love and their eventual union is very sweet! I like this story and how it fits with the series.

Harper wants to help Drogor, but he thinks she's his "treasure" , his mate that died. Harper*s a therapist that doesn't believe in love let alone reincarnation, but there's no doubt that she's drawn to him and when she starts having flashes of deja vu, what's she to think? Drogor wants to claim Harper as his mate, but she keeps pushing him away. Loved the story, it was sweet and tragic and had me enthralled from the beginning.

Totally Enjoyable Series.

This is a fun, fast read in the Dragons of Tajss series. It's amazing that we're up to number 24 in the series and never a repeat. This is Harper and Drogor's story. He's retreated into his mind and his only possible salvation is Harper who is a counselor. She doesn't believe in love but he recognizes her instantly. The story continues to move forward as we meet new characters and learn more about this world. I liked both characters and was rooting for them to be happy.

Drogor is a Zmaj who has been experimented on and then captured and held captive and used by the Black Marketers. He feels nothing but a distant hope for escape and a deep distrust of humans. Basically catatonic when rescued, the bunker psychiatrist is brought in to help him. Harper wants to help Drogor and is encouraged by his response to her; and surprised by her own response to him. Their progress has its ups and downs but they make a touching couple. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.

This story is full of action and unpredictable - it is different than the previous experiment stories as Drogor knows Harper is his mate whom he lost years ago. Drogor had given up after the Black Market was shut down until Harper came into his cell. To prove to her that they loved each other in a past life, he takes a dangerous trip outside for longer than recommended to find a special item to bring back to her. He succeeds but almost dies in the process. I love they get their happily ever after.

Great story

This is the first time I've read this book. I have read all of the other books in this series. I love the struggle of both peoples just to survive. It is exactly how we, as flawed Humans would react to this dangerous situation. Breaking of into different factions, and fighting amongst ourselves. Always seems like the hate filled people have the larger number. I'm glad there seems to be a solution in sight for everyone. Loved the connection between Drogur, and Amanda. She finally got her kinky fix all rolled up in one male.

I think this one has to be my favorite! Miranda gave us two lonely, damaged characters and made me fall in love with them. I really didn’t think she could pull off another novel in the bunker that would be different but she has. The story moves quickly with action nonstop. I’m hoping they leave the bunker soon because I’d love to see what plot deviation she has in store for us readers.

Drogor has made a few appearances in the last few books and I have been very curious about him so I was excited that he was finally getting his book. And it was so worth it. Drogor and Harper are both complex and beautifully written characters. They have their own issues that manage to compliment each other in some wonderful conflict (for the reader anyway). And it all makes for a really good romance.

The twenty-fourth book in the Red Planet Dragons of Tajss series, what a story. Harper a emotionally damaged therapist sees Drogor for the first time when she is asked to look after him, he is a man that is so mentally injured. They both have much to overcome. There is the spiritual beliefs surrounding Tajss that we get to see, and also learn how dire it is for the inhabitants in the bunker. This story is one I would recommend. I love the story and series. The story is sweet and tragic. Droger has been out of stasis and slaving for the black market for a while. Harper is asked to try and help him. He is scarred inside and out and has seen so much that he is shutting down. Harper has her own baggage as well. Will they be able to help each other? Must read to find out.
