Sinners #3

Stolen by a Sinner

Rate this book
From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard, a new standalone, full-length Turkish Mafia Romance novel.

Cinderella said to be kind, have courage, and always believe in a little magic.

She’s wrong.

To survive in my world, you have to be dead inside, be on guard at all times, and never dream of the impossible.
You never dream of anything because you don’t just get to stop working for the Polish mafia.

But you can be stolen from them.

Well, kind of.
When Gabriel Demir, head of the Turkish mafia, attacks my boss, I’m caught in the crossfire.
I’m taken captive, interrogated, and soon find myself in the position of maid again. Only this time, it’s for the Turkish instead of Polish.
This time it’s for a dangerously attractive man and not the insane one I’ve known all my life.
This time I find myself fantasizing about my boss instead of dreaming of ways to escape.
This time I’m not threatened with pain and death but with pleasure.

But can I step out of the maid’s uniform and into a ballgown?
Do I dare cross that line just for a moment in the spotlight?

Stockholm Syndrome or Florence Nightingale Effect?? lets not put a label on this book because what matters is ROMANCE IS NOT DEAD afterall. what you’ll find here will absolutely melt your heart. 🥰 this is a light mafia read (trigger warning on “slavery” or maid abuse) with an age gap (H 38, h 22), captor/captive forced proximity romance. the h is stolen saved by the H during a raid at the house where she works (unpaid & maltreated) as a servant. she gets shot by accident, then is brought to the Hs mansion. i would say this book is basically the less dark & more wholesome version of The Annihilator.

i love how this doesnt have insta attraction because the h is described as average looking and the H agrees. 🤣 i truly appreciate how slow burn this is. the MCs are wary and dont trust each other at the beginning. the h is moved by the Hs kindness and tender care. meanwhile, the H is the least alpha in the series so far, but hes not without his possessive & jealous streaks. hes intrigued by the h’s innocence. with no insta lust/love, their relationship development feels organic, more believable, and less Stockholm-y. i love how well they communicate with each other. ah theyre just perfect PERIODT. 😭

my only gripe is all the Turkish related stuff. ive never read a Turkish mafia romance. i squealed when i discovered that about this book. im no native, but i listen to Turkish people speak their language pretty much on a daily basis since im obsessed with Turkish shows at the moment. i have to say hearing the characters speak Turkish with an American accent had me cringing. 😬 admittedly, its nothing compared to how i feel about the book as a whole. i think book 1 is my favorite, but this one has a special place in my heart. ♥

random, but Turkish series i recommend watching: (first & last MUST WATCH)
- Siyah Beyaz Aşk (captor/captive)
- Halka (mafia, action, crime)
- Arıza (mafia, action, romance)
- Adım Farah (mafia, crime, romance)
- Gülcemal (modern Beauty and the Beast)

(read as an audiobook)

This was truly a slow-burn book to read, the mafia boss falls for the maid. Good story. I couldn't put it down and finished it in a day

I'm Turkish. Reading about a Turkish hero and reading turkish words made me happy:))
but Gabriel is not a Turkish name:(
His surname Demir is very common Turkish name I wish hero had a Turkish name.
The name of the son of the couple is Deniz and my name is Deniz too. Deniz is unisex name means sea.

*Thank you to Wildfire Marketing & the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

I don't know how this book managed to affect me so much but it was beautiful. Michelle Heard was able to tell a story of survival, found family, slow burn romance, and revenge all rolled into one. With just a dash of Cinderella thrown in for fun. It has to be a favorite of the year for me.

I was enthralled in this story from page one. It starts out very heavy when we see the life that Lara is living. Things are not going well for her and she is living in her own personal hell under the cruel dictatorship of the Polish Mafia. She has nothing to live for and no joy in her life. When she gets taken by Gabriel Demir after being shot during his attempt to kill her boss, she is expecting nothing more than a painful end to her sad existence.

Gabriel has been biding his time for decades to get his revenge against the Polish Mafia. When his attack results in an injured and terrified maid, he is furious. He is sure she must know more than she is saying and is determined to find out she is hiding. However, it doesn't take long for him to see that she is a traumatized and broken woman with nothing to offer him. That should be the end of it, but something stops him.

When he decides to offer her a job as HIS maid, she is thankful and she quickly becomes a welcome member of his household. What Lara isn't aware of is being a part of this household isn't the cold and terrifying job she is used to. In fact.. this household may be more of a home than she has ever known.

Okay, I won't give away the whole story, but this was just such an amazing story of found family and healing. The levels of hurt/comfort are varied and go deep in so many ways. Gabriel and company were so kind and supportive of her healing in all ways it brought tears to my eyes.

And the ROMANCE!! Ahhhhh! This is an age gap like the previous novels. But it's never much of a focus here at all. The slow burn between these two took a good portion of this book. However, it felt so RIGHT.It wasn't something that could be rushed and it needed time for Lara to feel safe and feelings to grow. When we get there... Gabriel brings the heat, you won't be disappointed/ He is dominant and demanding but in a very comforting way for Lara. It was perfection.

I am becoming a huge fan of Michelle Heard and in the time before book 4 I will be diving into her back list post haste. (Also.. who else is SO ready for Viktor and Rose?)

I don't think I read a Turkish mafia book before so this is a first for me. Triggers are below!

Lara is living in hell as she works for Tymon a cruel man who's staff is afraid of him and has bullets with there names on it if they mess up. She tries to keep her head down and make sure she doesn't screw up. And she does when dinner is ruined when she bumped into a man (Gabriel) she's late and she gets punished. Bleeding and brusied is what she is when the house is attacked then poor girl is shot. Gabriel is the head of the Turkish Mob and he has his sight set on Revenge against a man who ruined his life. It didn't go as plan so now he has a injured woman who may know some answers to his enemy. Now in his home Lara and him aren't enemies or friends he just wants info and he saved her. Lara is giving him what she knows and we'll she knows nothing but she's now sorta working for him. It's different for her since he doesn't beat, whip or stuff like her last boss. There is some sexual tension but it takes them awhile since she still trying to heal from the gun shot, her wounds from before and being sorta free to show emotions.

I love Gabriel he took his time he wasn't as alpha as the others but he did have a possessive streak and made sure no one disrespected his woman. War is coming since Tymon wants Lara back and Gab is confused why.
We get more of the guys in the group!!! I really wanna read vitork book with Rose. I'm hoping there next.

Low angst, No ow/om drama, No cheating, slight secondary character, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

4.5 stars- talk about swoony, yet very much alpha

Man. I didn’t think I was gonna love this one as much. Again, it’s very different from the first two books. This one’s a play on Cinderella. By the end of the book, I was wiping tears off my face.

Lara (22) has been working for a physically abusive man, Tymon Mazur, for years. Since her mother disappeared when she was 12, she’s had to take her place and work her bu++ off. Mazur uses any excuse to beat her up for mistakes she makes. When she goes to get dinner and grabs the food, Gabriel (38) bumps into her, spilling all the food, which forces her to arrive late and face the consequences of that 😏.

Gabriel’s out to unalive Mazur because he murd€red his parents when he was 8. 30 years have passed and he’s worked his way at up to be the head of the Turkish mafia. It’s time to seek Justice 💁🏻‍♀️.

When he goes to Mazur’s house, he’s not there, but Lara is 😬. He remembers she “bumped” into him the day before, and now he has… questions 😅.

So he steals her…

What I liked/loved-
—although it’s slow burn (first kiss and Os in the 50s% smexxx 70s%), the 🔥 makes up for it. Gabriel knows she’s gone through a lot- Lara had emotional and physical scars because of what Mazur put her through, so he takes it slow. But. Dear LAWD. His alphaness. His presence. 🥵💦his authoritative tone is scrumptious.

—his protectiveness is so so SWOOOONY! As soon as he sees how submissive and scared Lara gets, Gabriel adjusts his demeanor with her. Does he trust easily? No. But he sees her as more than just a servant, and when people try putting her down, he IMMEDIATELY defends her and puts them in their place 🥰🥰🥰. Sigh. No hesitation. He just does it ❤️
Unreasonable anger reignites in my veins, and before I can calm myself, I shout, “She’s mine! I will kill anyone who tries to take her from me.”

—the way he loves every inch of her 🥹😩🥰
”Fuck them all.” I press a kiss to her lips. “Only I matter, and I love every inch of you.”

—we see some good comeuppance 👏🏻. Sigh. So many times I wish we had seen certain things, and this actually made me happy #dontjudge 😬

—we see characters from other books. I always appreciate seeing previous Hs, especially ones I’ve fallen in love with lol. Love me some Priesthood 💅

—he’s all about the h. Gabriel sees no one else but her. Even though she describes herself as plain, he sees her as more. She’s gone through so much and he values her bravery

—the JP scenes. I mean. He has no reason to be jealous but he still is 🤣🤣🤣. The minute he sees her wearing a tight dress, his head almost explodes 😅😂😂😂. He wants all that for his eyes only 😅👀
Taking a step backward, my eyes drift over her body. “I hate that other men will see your beauty.” Locking eyes with her again, I order, “Don’t you dare leave my side tonight.” “Okay.” She smiles, and I almost bark for her to stop because it makes her eyes sparkle like stars. I’m probably going to kill the first fucker who looks at her. Christ, help me.

—the D/s scenes were organic. Gabriel’s alpha and dominant and Lara’s his perfect match, his submissive. No whips or chains needed
When the pleasure builds to a breaking point, I close my eyes. “Open your fucking eyes, Lara. You’ll look at me when you come,”

—the VIBE scene 👏🏻😂🤣. Omg. The way Gabriel freaked out had me cackling 🤣. But it was also 🥵🥵💦💦🔥🔥🔥
”You gasped. It didn’t sound like pleasure. What happened?” “It went in.” I quickly pull it out and sit up. There’s a dark tone to his voice as he asks, “Is there blood?”  I let out a breath of relief when I don’t see any. “No. Thank God.” “You better thank the almighty. Do not take your own virginity.”
🤣🤣🤣💀

—blood isn’t always thicker than water 🤷🏻‍♀️
”Apologize to the woman I’m dating, or so help me God, I will disown you.”

—the EPILOGUES WERE EPIC!! Jeeeezus. I was crying 🤣😂. The first one was 7 years later and the next one was 15 years after that. I. LOOOOOVED. Them 🥰🥰🥰🥹🥹🥹🥹. The date scene had me so emotional 🥹😩❤️❤️❤️ loved it 🥰

—He calls her Ödülüm which means MY REWARD 🥹❤️

What I wanted more of:
—more of Gabriel and Lara together. Maybe before anything smexual happens (like when the water scene happens). More 🔥 tension

Overall, I loved it. The epilogues got to me and made me feel good and warm and cuddly. Sigh 🥹🥰❤️

⚠️safety squad⚠️

-violence/bloodshed/death
-sex trafficking mentioned/victims of it as well

⭐️ one star -

I can’t believe I “read” this 🤦‍♀️ I almost didn’t review it, but I want a record that I read this rubbish so I can never be tempted by high reviews and fancy covers from this author again 😂

This was beyond awful. I’m sorry I read it. This is yet another book where the author is writing a story within an American setting and it feels as if “Seattle” or some such popular US city is just plopped in there for points.

The suspension of belief required to accept the fact that this took place in a US city was just too much for me. The whole plot line of our heroine made zero sense to me. Her thought processes are of someone who is beaten down, doesn’t exercise any of her rights, and I found that wholly frustrating. The writing here is more of what you’d find in a sub-par romance

To top it all off, the references to Turkish culture and the use of phrases in the language were way too much for me. If the attitude toward women is accurate as described by this author here, all I can say is, “I’m glad I don’t live there”. Too much emphasis on class division, women as secondary citizens, and virginity hang ups. If this is how women are viewed in Turkey, then I think that they have a long way to go as a culture. Just sad.

I ended up skimming after about the 46% mark, and made it to about 78% - until I just couldn’t take it anymore. This turned out to be a total waste of precious book time. Save yourself and find something else.

One dull star. Do not recommend and will not read this author ever again.

When Gabriel Demir, head of the Turkish mafia storms the compound of Tymon Mazur, one of his maids, Lara Nowak, is caught in the crossfire. In the hopes of extracting information from her, Gabriel takes her to his home for recovery.

Intent on revenge, he pushes the dispirited maid for details of the Polish mafia don’s private affairs. Despite the naïve girl not being privy to anything of importance, the house staff have a soft spot for her.

Stolen by a Sinner is the emotionally charged story of healing and vengeance, love and loss, family and forever.

I liked this and could see myself liking it more upon re-read...maybe. I seem to have a very lukewarm relationship with Michelle Heard. She writes a lot of mafia, which I love. They always sound good to me, so I read them. They always end up being so close to being 3.5 to 4...but for some reason they always fall a little short for me. But I keep reading them? I don't know. It is what is it.

Stockholm Syndrome mistaken for love.

HATE THAT.
I do not care about all the "you saved me" bullshit.
I get it.
It's literally Stockholm Syndrome if you marry the first man you come into contact with who also stole you from another mafia boss for inside sweep.

It's just that he was a good person that treated everyone with kindness.
You Lara were also treated the same but you were young and pretty and very broken so it was covered up with "liking"

This man was a good person and even the heroine was a good character but the whole "falling in love"?
Stockholm fucking syndrome.

Loved loved loved the part before they built a romantic relationship and she was just a maid to him.
Loved that he was up caring for her when she was sick even though she was just a maid to him
But everything after was a mess.

My dear foreign friends, whose English is not their mother language, how do you feel when u read something, a word, a phrase, a line in ur own language in a book?

Cuz' it's sure something else...

This is not the first time I read a Turkish Mafia Romance but this is the first time I read Turkish Mafia Romance from a non-Turkish author with Turkish words in it.

This is not about nation it's about language, by it I mean familiarity, hotness of the words, not grammar or vocab. mistakes. For instance curse words, vulgar words or slangs are hot to me when they are in foreign language, even in English. However when it comes to reading a Turkish romance, it's so hard to like a book with these.

(I'm not asking for the English version bc it's clear WE ALL love dirty mouth heroes.)

OFF çok seviyorum aşüftez gangimi.

Cebrail diyeni vurujam.
Hani şimdi herkes herife soyadı olan “Demir” ile seslense problem yok, Türkçe adı olsa ama telaffuz kolaylığı diye Gabriel dense yine problem yok.
Hiçbir açıklama yok.
Gabriel ismine bayıldığım gerçeği önemsiz şu an.
Bu adamın adı niye Gabriel!
Tekrar ediyorum Cebrail diyenin topuğuna sıkarım.

Neyse.

Of allahım.

Awww hayatının aşkını önce onu vurarak sonra ona vurularak bulmak mı allahım nasip et be asdfasdfasdf

Awww.
Ama kız düşmüş bile.

«“Come sit across from me, Lara,” Alya Hanim says.
Not questioning her, I pull the chair out. It’s only when Gabriel walks into the dining room and sits at the head of the table, that I realize I’m now seated next to him.
“I found a new pattern we can knit,” Alya Hanim says. “Baby socks. They’re so adorable.”»

«Gabriel’s hands frame my face, and he steps into my personal space. Tilting his head, he keeps my eyes prisoner as he says, “Shh, you’re not going back. You’re staying right here. Breathe, Lara.” His thumbs caress my cheeks.»

«“Slow down,” Nisa whispers.
“Sorry.”
Before I can stop myself, I mutter, “Are you going to apologize for breathing?”
Lara’s eyes snap to mine, and a visible tremor hits her. “If that’s what you want, sir.”
Jesus.
My temper flares instantly. I get up, dropping the tablet on the side table. “If I hear you say sorry one more time, there will be hell to pay. Understand?”»

«“Even though I did my best to corrupt you, you still smell like innocence.”»

NE𝘌ㅌᴱᄐꗋEEE SGASDFAJSKDF
FEMİNİSTLER OUT PRAISECILER IN

DNF @ 50% - this was already pretty boring but I was getting squicked out by the way the hero was thinking about how much he wanted to dominate the downtrodden, traumatized, weak, cowering, pathetic little mouse of a heroine. There’s nothing there to “dominate” and why would he even want to? It didn’t really make sense for his character. We’d been shown the nicest most gentlemanly mafia hero ever. I would expect him to want to care for our obviously traumatized and mistreated heroine, not have the urge to *DOMINATE* her. She wasn’t submissive because she got off on it. She was submissive because she’d been beaten down and brain washed. What kind of man would find that sexually arousing?? Gross.

And really? What kind of tool walks around thinking “I want to dominate her”?? What a goofball. 🙄 Authors: show don’t tell.

Never have I ever had a visceral disgust reaction to a book? Now I have. wish I could give this 0 I wish I could unread it, actually false because the shock I experienced going thru this can never be recreated. Why write a book about a language and culture when u have ZERO idea how it works. The way we would NEVER speak like this, you couldn’t get one Turkish person to proofread cmon???😐 AND SO MANY HORRENDOUS BEHAVIORS PLS. The age gap that gets revealed WAY later? A brainless main character? The way the mmc fully ignores that she’s traumatized and goes “yea I wanna fuck tho so like birth control?” LIKE WHAT? And why did the plot take more than halfway into the book to begin. I genuinely cannot, this is the worst thing I’ve ever read and that’s a lot coming from me considering I read ridiculous mafia romances 24/7. Goodbye

A light mafia read always picks your mood up and this book didn't fail.

⚠️ TW: abuse, violence

I liked that this book was slow burn because if it had went any faster it would have ruined the dynamics of Gabriel and Lara's relationship. Gabriel also didn't care about the age gap between Lara and him until the last few chapters so that shows its completely fine.

This book had the captive trope, while it wasn't intense it did portray what it needed to. Gabriel also employed Lara under him which was the boss x employee trope (at least until he fell in love). I liked that Gabriel seemed like a man who wasn't ashamed who show his emotions. Lara went through a lot from a young age and her determination to get through everything is indeed admirable.

I felt that this book was too long, it could have been shorter because a few chapters seemed like fillers in-between and it did make me a little bored unfortunately. The same tango of Gabriel scaring Lara and Lara's obedience out of fear took up a big portion of the book at the start. But still this book was a quick, stress-less read.

Stolen by a Sinner was a REMARKABLE read and is my favorite of the series. There is so much that I adored about this book but it completely swept me away in a way that I never expected. As much as I enjoyed the first two books, they have nothing on this book. This one just won my heart so quickly. I absolutely adored everything about this one and it totally tore my emotions apart and frankly, I am not complaining too much about it. haha, You can tell that this story was done so well and it captivated me. The setup of the romance is that it's a kidnapping with a cinderella retelling. The quick gist of the story is that the heroine is being abused and attacked by a competing mafia king and she is kidnapped and is now working in that household. But our heroine has been abused all of her life, and now she is in a place that is safe in more ways than one, and a romance blossoms.

I will say that this story completely shocked me because I know that this author can really strike to the center of your emotions, but wow she really worked me well in this story. I love a well-done Cinderella retelling and this one is one of the darker tales I have ever read and I am more than impressed. My heart just ached for what our heroine suffers but the way that she rises above it and finds a sweet strong love was beyond precious. She deserved to find a prince and find a happy ending and she definitely found her way to her happy ever after just mafia style.

If you are a mafia fan and love dark romance, then you definitely need to read this one (and it can be read as a standalone. Give this one a try and you won't regret it.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5)
Trope: captive, protector
Angst: 😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

So I'm super conflicted about this one and I know I'm in the minority 🙈. I've been a long time fan of Michelle Heard, but these last 2 stories of hers have left me wanting and felt like there was some missed opportunity to add depth for what could have been a great story. Totally great storyline. Tons of action, heartache, overcoming trauma. Love the idea of the Cinderella theme. Love the characters' stories of what made them the way they are, but the story execution felt way flat for me. Also, Lara was too much of a victim for me and I did not really feel chemistry between her and Gabriel 🤷🏻‍♀️. I'll definitely still keep reading her books, I know she's a great writer!

“get it off my desk” or whatever taylor swift said

when will authors finally be done with romanticizing stockholm syndrome in their “romance” novels? in most cases, victims will only attempt to “bond” with their captor(s) to appease them and so… what was lara doing for majority of the book? trying to convince gabriel that she was of value so he wouldn’t harm her like how her former captor would have.

gabriel’s strange affinity with lara’s innocence was nauseating considering their difference in age was SIXTEEN years (she’s twenty-two, he’s thirty-eight).

the author and every character written in this book needs to be in a place of confinement, therapy, or both.

This is not a bad book, it’s just a 3 star read because it’s not something I’ll think about after finishing it and it was a bit too sweet for my tastes. But, if you want a mafia story and you’re not in the mood for anything hardcore or intense, you might like it, it’s a surprisingly sweet mafia read. Tropes: age gap, boss/employee, innocent heroine.

This is about Lara, who is 22 and has had a TERRIBLE life. She’s basically a slave, she’s grown up in the household of the head of the Polish mafia as his maid. He regularly beats her when she’s late or makes a mistake, he doesn’t pay her, and she hasn’t been allowed to befriend the other staff members. She also lives every day expecting to die, since he executes his staff often. Gabriel, who is 38, is the head of the Turkish mafia. I don’t know if that exists (they must have organized crime, but is it called the mafia?) But for the sake of this book, I’ll buy into it, and I like that it’s different than the usual Italian mafia I’ve seen a million times in books, that part of the story feels unique.

Gabriel attacks her boss, accidentally shoots Lara, and takes her with him. When it turns out that she can’t share info about her boss, Gabriel doesn’t want to kill her but doesn’t know what to do with her, so he keeps her on as a maid. So similar to Little Dove this is bit of captive trope too, but VERY gentle captive trope, since her captor is putting her in a better situation than she was in before (but, Little Dove is a better book, IMO).

The rest of the book is pretty tame and sweet from there, it’s basically just showing Lara, who has the vibe of a kicked dog, open up to the world, find a sense of belonging in Gabriel’s home among his nice staff, and fall for him. She’s never even been kissed, which is a trope I don’t love for a 22 year old, but it does make sense for her life.

Lara and Gabriel are both likeable, but they were also exchanging “I love yous” before they even slept together for the first time. So their relationship felt a bit underdeveloped and there's no real angst or flavor to it. It’s not bad, but it’s too sugary sweet for my tastes. The darkness of the mafia world and Lara’s previous life prevents this from feeling sappy, but only just.

This is a light, sweet, forgettable mafia read. I liked Taken By A Sinner better from this series, it had more drama and packed more of a punch. But, this author’s writing is engaging, and I’ve enjoyed this series about these 5 mafia guys as a whole. So even though this one was kind of eh, I'll still read the other two books when they come out.

Star Rating : 4.5/5 Stars

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : None

Hero : Gabriel

Heroine : Lara

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 5/10

Heat Rating : 5/10

Triggers Involved : Past Trauma

Plot Summary :
Gabriel is all set to take revenge on the one man who ruined his childhood and basically took everything from him. What he did not expect was to find a dove at his house, the most beautiful woman who was also very very innocent. What was she doing there? Did she work for his enemies? Or was she a captive as well. He could not kill her so the answer was to take her for himself.

Lara has never known an easy life. Working for one of the cruelest man took everything away from her and being a servant was all she knew. Until another monster swooped in and kidnapped her all for himself. Or so she thought. The man she had disguised as the monster was the head of the Turkish mafia and the most ruthless man. But his ruthlessness did not mean cruelty. He was kind. Instead of killing her, he gave her a place to stay and a life to live. But things between them were never easy and when a connection sparks between them, everything goes to hell.

Overall Opinion :
Like every book of this series, it keeps getting better and better! I wanted more of the kidnapping trope from Michelle and I am so happy that she delivered. Gabriel was one of the most intense heroes I have ever met and I just loved him so much. Lara was definitely the sweetest that you could not help but want to hug the woman. Their chemistry was off the charts hot and the way the storyline progressed, I loved it even more.

Definitely recommending this book to all the dark mafia romance loving people out there. It has darkness but not too much and it is definitely at the edge of a contemporary romance for me. I loved it a lot and hope you all do as well!

Virgin girl right here 🥺🥺❤️ and the hero is so happy that he was her first and he was her first to everything 🥺 As always this series from michelle heard is always amazing ❤️❤️

Please read my full review on the previous books from the series. I think my favorite from the series will always be the first book😆

Full review is from (Darlene I read way too many books) and (Kursed Reads Books) to know more about the book and safety.

I enjoyed reading this book so much. The mystery, the plot twist, the actions, the romance, the chemistry, friendship and family is really what I love to read from a novel. There's no unnecessary childish drama.... Michelle really knows the way to my heart 🥺

LOCATION: SEATTLE

👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽 IF YOU'RE BEING MEAN AND NEGATIVE ALREADY WITH A WARNING AND NOT BEING WISE TO ME, I WILL NOT ENTIRELY READ YOUR COMMENT AND REMOVE YOU EASILY AND FAST. I DO NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT SO KNOW YOUR PLACE, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I’m writing my disclaimer again here cause many negative people still don't get it or still be stupid enough not to understand my POV when I already write it so many times before. So here I am writing it again to you beautifuls human being😁😁 WHEN YOU READ MY LONG OR SHORT REVIEW, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WHAT I LIKE ABOUT A STORY AND CHARACTERS RIGHT... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEN HERE IT IS: I LIKE A BOOK WITH VERY POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE, NO CHEATING, AND PLEASE NO MANWHOR3, NO MANY PUSHING AWAY, NO DOORMAT HEROINES, NO MANY OW DRAMA, NO S3X SCENE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. AND SAFE ALL THE WAY AND A HAPPY ENDING. Something that I don't like it very much if the hero or heroine have a crazy fvcked up personality and likes. Example: killing someone and let the heroine watch it all and push the heroine to lick all the blood of his victim and made her have to eat the meat of humans. and fvcks many woman in front of the heroine while telling her he loves her. I DON'T LIKE THAT TYPE OF SH*T AT ALL. That's just who I am, that's what I like and I don't like on a book. Maybe you love that, but I don't. We humans are different, we think very differently from one another. You have your likes and I have mine, you have your opinions and I have mine of my own. You think it's stupid of me to love such a book or to not love a book or to hate it whatever lol, I think it's bad you think that way cause I respect people's opinions cause I know for a fact we have our differences. YOU AND ME ARE DIFFERENT FOR PETE'S SAKE. I even have my own friends or people I follow here that shows how much they don't like the book I like, I never even give them a long comment or short Comment. Cause I respect their opinions. I don't like to give people I hard time here cause life itself is already hard enough. I do respect your opinion if you say my review is bad or whatever negative things about it, but in the end of the day I will not changed my mind about what book I dislike and how my thoughts about it. You can't tell me what to do. You can give me advice but it's me who decided to know what's right for me, this is my life and not yours. Read that again. Don’t assume things about me that is not even real, just don’t. cause when you do you’re more small minded for sure. You're thinking why I'm telling you all of this when you already know? Is because you still hating on my opinions and don't understand my POV and don't respect my POV. You think i like writing this disclaimer when obviously you're an adult already? no i personally think this is unnecessary... but because there are people out there who still don't get it *rolling my eyes*. Hopefully they or the people who read this disclaimer can use a beautiful thing called a brain:) AND WHEN YOU READ MY REVIEW, READ IT VERY CLEARLY TO SEE IF I FINISHED THE BOOK OR NOT. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. AND YES ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. BUT IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M WRITING, THEN IT MEANS YOU UNDERSTAND IT ENOUGH. I DO NOT TOLERATE BULLYING, NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND MEAN WORDS. PLEASE USE A WISE WORDS SO WE DON'T ATTACK EACH OTHER. SIMPLY, I DON’T LIKE TO HAVE AN ARGUMENT WITH STRANGERS LIKE YOU CAUSE I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO😚 BUT IF YOU STILL WANT TO BE AMBER HEARD KARENS THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND MY DISCLAIMER AFTER I JUST WRITE IT DOWN, THEN GO ENJOY YOUR DAY AND GO AWAY. IT'S VERY EASY FOR A HUMAN COULD DO YA KNOW. IF YOU STILL HERE HATING ME OR ANNOYED WITH ME, THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. NOT ME PROBLEM. HASHTAGS BURN😂😂 DON'T TAKE THINGS TOO PERSONALLY ON ONLINE CAUSE WE ALL A STRANGERS, WE NEVER EVER MEET. WE'RE ADULTS HERE SO LETS BE WISER. LAST, I BLOCK NEGATIVE PEOPLE! SO GET WELL SOON TO THE HATERS. HOPEFULLY YOUR HEART AND MIND WILL BE MORE POSITIVE 🙏🙏🙏 AND THIS DISCLAIMER MAY SEEMS LIKE TOO HARSH ON YOU BUT HEY I DON'T LIKE TO SUGAR COATED THINGS. I LIKE TO SAY TO THE POINT WITH MY UNDERSTANDING AND MY OWN THOUGHTS, CAUSE THAT'S HOW HUMANS ARE. WE ARE DIFFERENT REMEMBER👍 HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!

I don't think I read a Turkish mafia book before so this is a first for me.

Lara’s been through the worst life has to offer.
This author was so good at making me feel what the character was feeling that I cried for Lara so many times. She lost her mother at a young age and lived through hell at the abusive hands of her tormentor. When you meet her she is simply in survival mode, afraid of her own shadow. My heart repeatedly broke for her. When Gabriel conducts an attack on her employer, she’s injured and rescued by Gabriel where she finds a new life. Watching her realize there is happiness gave me all the happy feels.

However, The chemistry between them seemed a little off at times. I can’t put my finger on just why it didn’t feel authentic. The dominant submissive thing isn’t my typical go to for romantic dynamics.
Lara as a sheltered victim needed more time to understand herself and feelings so intimacy and sex was rushed. Could use more depth, action, and story development.

"Be kind, have courage, and always believe in a little magic." -Cinderella

What a wonderful story was that!!!
This was a story about heartbreak and healing... About family... About revenge... and about love in its purest form!!!
Michelle throwed in the mix and some Cinderella hints and the story became even more sweet and intriguing!!!
I loved Lara and Gabriel and I am waiting impatiently Viktor and Luca's stories!!!

"Cinderella's wrong.
She's very wrong. To survive in my world, you have to be dead inside, on guard at all times, and never dream of the impossible. Never dream of anything."

My heart was aching for Lara since the very first page...
She was living in a constant nightmare under Polish mafia's thumb as a maid... She was abused badly, but she didn't know any other way... She was just holding her head low and she was wishing to survive this nightmare!!!
Until the day she was shot and got stolen and in the hands of her captor, she had found a different life... an unexpected one!!! One that she started to be afraid that she will lose eventually... After all fairytales are not real!!!

"Do I dare to hope that a life without punishments exists? That there's more to life than being on guard all the time and living in a bubble of loneliness?"

Gabriel Demir is the head of the Turkish Mafia in Seattle...
For almost thirty years, he is seeking revenge and finally, the time has come...
Unfortunately, fate has other plans for him...
In the middle of the chaos, a young maid is being shot from his hands and her familiar face makes him to take her with him...
He just wants informations about his enemy, but he is realizing very soon that he is having a tortured creature in his hands, a creature that has the ability to get under his skin...

"The woman is becoming a bigger problem than I anticipated."

This was an age gap, slow burn romance...
Gabriel was a detemined man and Lara was a girl who was lacking affection...
Under Gabriel's care, this woman blossomed and she started to become a beautiful woman full of life and innocence... and that pure innocence had hit Gabriel square in the heart and he became its slave...

"You bewitched me with your innocence."

I loved this couple very much!!!
I was so sad and heartbroken for everything that Lara had to get through in the past.... I just wanted to hold her and shelter her and thank God that in the Turkish household there were kind people who embraced her!!!
Gabriel was kind of cruel in the beginning, but then he became very sweet and protected...
Even though the big age gap between them, these two were fitting perfectly together!!!

"You look at me as if I'm becoming your entire world..."

Yes, this was another one story by Michelle Heard's pen that managed to make an impact to me...
I love the Sinners series and I can not wait for the next books...
Of course, I am waiting Viktor's turn like crazy, but Michelle had decided to torture us by leaving him for the end... I'm wondering why!!! LOL
Yes, this is definitely a series that I would recommend!!!

"Life is not meant to be lived in pain and misery, Lara Hanim."

Just leave me in this world…

Yes, I will say it again. This series is one more in a long line up that has me forgetting about my own life and getting lost in in the trials and tribulations of fictional characters. They may not really exist, or bleed, or cry but honestly, it feels like they actually do…

Lara was existing and just wanted to be hidden on the sidelines, not gathering any attention. Gabriel had other ideas and when she came to be collateral damage, he stepped up in a big way. Paving a path to one she never could hope for… If it would only last…

How do I describe the highs and lows, the chemistry and emotion that triggered between them emotions and caring. And love… Oh, the love, it was worth all the hardship to get there and of that, you can bet there was plenty…

This was a spin on the traditional Italian mafia trope. Instead there was not only Polish familigia but Turkish as well. Instead of labelling it however I will describe it as a phenomenal read with characters that leapt off the pages and became oh so real…

This author has magic in her words and this one was another fab read to add to my never full enough, favorites shelf! ~Diane, 5 stars
