Jim: Regrets are a waste of time, but there’s still one moment Jim Barnes wishes he could take back -- breaking up with Sarah, the love of his life, before sneaking off to boot camp thirty years ago. The only reason he returned to Hedby, Colorado, to start an MMA gym after his military career ended was in the vain hope she’d still be there. No matter. He’s willing to wait.
Sarah: Her marriage had been… fine. Perfectly adequate. Decent, even, though he’d never quite understood what she truly desired. When Sarah Miller moves back to her hometown after becoming a widow, the last thing she expects is to run into her old flame -- the one who broke her heart all those years ago. Their second chance to finally be everything they’ve ever needed is absolutely Worth the Wait.
Silke Campion writes hot, flirty, sweet and dirty romances featuring heroes who will gladly take control to ensure their heroines get their Happy Ever After.
She’s been married to her own military hero for over twenty-five years, living and loving through dozens of cross-country and international moves with their two children and a menagerie of dogs and cats. Now they’re settled back in the US where -- when she’s not head-down writing -- she contemplates the serious issues of what to make for dinner with the ridiculous amount of basil she grows in her herb garden, what cocktail will go with it, and what cross-stitch project she’s starting next.
3.5 stars First things first; I like the cover of this book! Worth the wait is a novella in the ‘’after I do’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. Worth the wait is the first book of Silke Campion’s that I have read. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Jim and Sarah were once high school sweethearts. That changed when Jim broke Sarah’s heart. Thirty years later and they find one another again but what will happen? The chemistry between Jim and Sarah is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
3.75/5 stars Sarah and Jim were high school sweethearts, when he decides to join the military he breaks up with her and doesn’t have any contact with her for over thirty years. Now a widow she has moved back to her hometown, she comes into his gym to meet with a veteran who she befriended at the VA hospital, he reminds her of her son who is currently serving. When Jim sees her he is shocked and she goes with her first instinct and slaps him, years of pent up hurt and anger help deliver a good smack. They go to his office to talk, I liked how the young man she was there to meet makes sure she is ok. Talking leads to kissing which leads to sex. Everything happens at warp speed, there is no dating, getting reacquainted with one another, it’s slap, kiss, sex. Jim is a dominant by nature and wants Sarah to be his sub, she agrees. They have sex in the MMA octagon and then an epilogue one year later at their wedding reception. Would have really liked a little more time together before having sex. Liked that Sarah wrote romance, that’s why she was meeting the young man, to interview him for research on MMA fighting for a new series she was writing. Also liked that they were an older couple.

I liked both of the characters ,but I thought there was more details to Jim.The plot could have had more going on.It was a simple second- chance later -in- life story.it was refreshing to read a story where the main characters weren't young enough where I could have birthed them.Anything under 35 is too young.( I am 61)It was a short, but satisfying read.I enjoyed it.
I loved the rekindling of this relationship between this couple I enjoyed that they were adults who had done the whole family life with other people and now their spouses were gone, rekindled a school crush relationship into a different way of loving from the whole marriage and kids relationship of new adults
Worth the wait is a fun quick story of Sarah and Jim’s second chance. These two characters have lived a long life without each other and meet again at his MMA gym. It’s clear from the second they see each other that they have a lot of loose ends to tie up and tie up they do. ;-)
This was a short and sweet read. It’s basically a reunion scene between Sarah and Jim that leads to more. Still, it conveyed a lot of feelings between the two. A nice little afternoon read.
I liked that Jim and Sarah wasted no more time than they already had. They jumped right back into things as soon as they saw each other again and from there they held nothing back. Nice steamy summer afternoon read.
Oh, what a great reunion! I know it was meant to be a short story, but I could devour the same amount again and it would still be too short! I like this Jim!

I liked this story because of the older couple, but because it was a really short one, I was also a little disappointed it was over that soon. Well written, dual POV, HEA, epilogue.
