I've been in a weird reading slump and these books don't help 🤣
this was so odd I have no words. it borders on creepy, but it's ok since the landlord is hot. there is also some random ow drama thrown in at the end that had no explanation and I was a bit confused...... 😳

In typical Jenna Rose fashion she blew this one out the darn park.

This was freaking hot 🥵!! So damn fuego 🔥 I called a fireman 👨‍🚒 to spray me !!
Let’s get a few things out in the open this is an major age gap romance with a sexy tempting older man almost 20 years her senior!!

Hazel is doing everything she can to survive and it seems like she can’t get a break. Then one ☝🏽 day her building manager Gabriel makes her an offer she can’t refuse.

She keeps losing shifts at work and this will help her pay that rent baby!!!
Hazel goes through all this work to finally get a leg up but Gabriel tries to treat her like the one thing she is not. Let’s just say mama didn’t raise no HOE !!!! So Hazel walks out and decides the hell with this guy.

The following day she goes to her horrible job and guess what conversation she has?? You know what it is should she be Gabriel’s little bad girl ? The thing is she doesn’t get down with the get down like that.

** snaps fingers in a circle**

Just because I love y’all so much I took a quote or two !! 😍🥰

“Um, no, but is that really such a bad thing? Hazel, your lady bits have seen less use than a shower at a gamer convention. You’ve told me a million times how hot you think he is.”- 21%

“Yes, that’s true, but I’m not some kind of prostitute, okay?” Jess gives me that judgmental look that only best friends can on my way out and eyes me up and down. “She says in high heels and a skirt that shows her uterus.” -23%

“Sorry,” I chuckle. “I was just…lost in how good this bacon is. You really are an amazing chef.” Hazel blushes again. God, she’s so fucking cute. “Well, at least that’s one good thing that came out of my stepfather’s captivity. I can do some good things for you…"-38%

Alright I promise I’m done lol 😂 but this book was amazing and I literally read it again for the second time 😍🥰

Happy reading everyone I hope you give this read a try I know you’ll love it 😍 !!

Hazel is behind on her rent. Gabriel is her landlord who every single woman in the building has a crush on. One day he has a mess in his apartment he needs cleaning up so he offers Hazel a 20% decrease in her rent if she'll clean it for him. He then proceeds to proposition her- he offers to let her move in with him rent-free if she'll do anything he says. She doesn't take it well lol.

"I’m a virgin, Gabriel, and I’m not going to be your little slut for money, rent, or anything else you want to give me."

That night, a coworker steals all of Hazel's tips from her which causes her to have to consider Gabriel's offer. She's broke with no way to pay rent or put gas in the car. Sooo what does she do? She takes Gabriel up on his offer and shows up at his door. She moves in with him and the next morning they do the deed.

“Well, that’s one way to finish brunch.” Hazel’s joke breaking the silence comes as such a shock to me that I instantly burst out laughing. She giggles and goes wide-eyed. “Oh my God, I can feel your…your thing move when you laugh.”
“My thing?” I smile. “Hazel, we just had sex. I don’t think you have to refer to my cock as a thing anymore.”

I thought this novella was cute but pretty average. The sex scenes were hot, the chemistry was there, but the story wasn't that exciting. There's some OW drama that made me roll my eyes.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

The one thing that Hazel wanted was her freedom, having grown up with a controlling stepfather she had bided her time until she was eighteen. Now living in a studio apartment she is behind on her rent and her landlord Gabriel offers her an alternative, as much as she should be angered by the offer she finds herself wanting to give in and after one of her waitress colleagues steals her tips it’s looking like she has no choice but to say yes. Will Gabriel be just like her stepdad or is he the man meant for her?

Gabriel has plans and it’s not to keep looking after other peoples apartments, he is used to women hitting on him and there are a fair few that live in his building that have tried to catch his attention but there is one that stands out. Hazel she’s too young for him but he can’t help how much she creeps in to his dreams and when he calls for the rent she owes he offers her a highly questionable arrangement, and if she agrees he isn’t going to let her go. Will he get his chance to show her the life he wants to offer her or will he lose her in the blink of an eye?

As always Ms Rose has delivered a short, sexy and super steamy read, my only criticism was the end seemed to come out of nowhere but I still loved it. 4.5* read

"Making the Rent" is the story of Hazel and Gabriel.

Oookay.

Heroine works as a waitress, struggling to make ends meet. Hero is her landlord. When she is behind on her rent, he initially propositions, which she refuses and then agrees. They have daddy sex, some drama happens and immediately the book ends.

It was weird, LOL.

This is kind of a weird book. I expected it to be fully erotica but there’s not actually that much sex. There’s also no relationship development but there is a weird action scene thrown in at the end. I think the author should have gone one way or the other. This book is too short to try to have some relationship stuff and sex stuff. The writing wasn’t bad however so I would consider reading more from this author.

There was no relationship building at all. Just a virgin h that jumps in bed with and to be completely taken care of by her older landlord, because she can't pay rent. This was poorly executed and super unrealistic. It's mostly just sex. I read another book a couple months ago with the same premise which was leaps and bounds better than this. Also since when is a 35 yo man considered an "older" gentleman, who girls in their twenties look up to as a sexy father figure.

This was SO boring. And even the smut was boring, and I am a diehard smut addict. Like I was reading those scenes with a blank face, didn't feel a single thing, and was just disturbed.

Disappointing for sure, but I wasn't expecting much soooo🤷‍♀️??

This very well written Book had a story of an Age Gap Romance with intense and interesting characters. These character interactions are believable and they are well-constructed. She created a unique plot and an interesting cast of characters. Cannot wait to read more of her books. This is a must read. Jenna Rose has done it again with another engaging short story. I am always on the lookout for more books

Gabriel will make sure Hazel has a place to stay.

Hazel has been doing everything she can to make enough money to pay her rent, but it just isn't enough. Her landlord, Gabriel makes her a proposition that offends her and she walks away from him. Then something terrible happens at work and she decides to take Gabriel up on his offer. Will she be able to satisfy him and could this become more than her just Making the Rent?

Just smokin’

This one really hooked me early on! Thought it would be a simple girl taken advantage of to pay her rent, but it was quite a love story as time went on and their love grew!

*QUICK ONE-LINER OPINION*
Definitely not Jenna Rose's best work. The story is also different from what was on the blurb . H has such potential to be this manipulative, OTT anti-hero but unfortunately it is not the case here. So this is an average read for me.

my thoughts in increments

ch 1-3:

Hazel is so gullible, and the way that Gabriel describes her fetishizes her innocence. It's real weird that he swings back and forth between "I wanna peg her so bad" and "I'm such a shit human for even thinking about this innocent child this way". Dude, just pick a struggle. To sum things up, Hazel loses a couple hundred dollars and decides, "yeah I'm going to become my landlord's property". :|

ch 4-6: "'I felt it, baby,' he replies. 'I felt your cherry pop when I claimed your little virgin pussy.'", "How is this girl so fucking perfect? The absolute pinnacle of femininity draws desires out of me I’ve never felt before. The desire to breed a female."

Ahh so now we get the "i'm not like other girls" aspect at play because, oh my gosh, she can cook! Also, Gabriel's obsession with how feminine she is for fulfilling this domestic housewife role and being a virgin is real creepy. This book digs deep with how misogynistic and stereotypical it can be through the definition of femininity and portrayal of Hazel and how she needs a man to save her.

ch 7-8: "Is this…love that I’m feeling?"

No babes, it's fucking Stockholm syndrome. She literally recognizes that she's been coerced into living with her landlord in this part too, but he shows a morsel of actually trying to care for her, and she just decides to ignore that Gabriel is basically the dollar tree version of Christian Grey.

Ch 9-epilogue: "The pieces of my life that I’ve been building with Gabriel come crashing down like a Jenga tower."

i just feel like that twist of having a crazy ex brining up domestic assault allegations just cheapens the severity of the problems many women face in real life. This is the second time I've seen something like this in romance novels and I hate it.

The language is choppy and cringey. It has a hea, but I'm not happy. I need to stop going on epubpub when I'm bored and reading some random book because sometimes you get stuff like this.

"Making The Rent" by Jenna Rose is a book that contains a short, standalone, steamy romance

Hazel, 18, is in debt to her landlord. That's why this man, Gabriel, offers her a way to pay the debt. At first, she refuses, but then Hazel accepts because how can she not accept such an offer from this sexy man?

I considered it a totally different story from what I've read from this author. Still, the ending killed me, honestly. I don't know why, but I believed Liz's story, just like Hazel doubted her. I couldn't believe that dramatic twist was in the last 10 pages. I didn't see how this could end. Luckily, Gabriel and Hazel get their happy ending.

Naughty landlord and tenant game = love.

I kind of loved this story. It was short, a little bit taboo but entertaining and enjoyable too. The characters were interesting and likable although I did want to smack a few of them upside the head more than once. Tiffany needed some comeuppance. Liz hopefully got her consequences. Hazel and Gabriel got the best thing ever, they got love. Gabriel made me mad at first but the more I thought about it, I think that his loneliness got to him. Hazel was a hard worker but naive and a little too trusting. She was also in an incredibly difficult situation with being behind on her rent but not having the money to pay it. After Gabriel’s offer, Hazel couldn’t stop thinking about it regardless of the way it initially made her feel. Gabriel was excited that Hazel accepted his offer. Once they had a bit of a routine and started to realize that they each had deeper feelings for each other, things between them really exploded. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

This is the story of Hazel and Gabriel. She had been living without any freedom while she was living with her step-dad. Once she got 18, she moved out. She was living on an apartment building owned by Gabriel. She is a little late for rent. Gabriel went to collect the rent but once he saw her, she thought she was going out to party but she was wearing her job uniform. She was in a delicate situation at work and he made a proposal to her to clean his apartment but wearing her job uniform. After cleaning, he proposed to take 20% of the debt if she moves with him and let him do whatever he wants to her. She was upset but at the end, she moved with him. Once she moved with him, they began a relationship and fall in love. Now, a mystery woman appeared and blamed Gabriel to hurt her. Was the mystery woman telling the truth? Will Hazel and Gabriel be finally together? Nice story and characters. Highly recommended.

Our heroine doesn't know who to make ends meet, but not for lack of trying. Enter our hero who figures he just might have a solution that works for both of them.

This is a short romance story with a bit of a daddy theme. The story is very well written and easy to read, so no issues there. Our characters are also well developed and eventually shown to have good chemistry. The plot moves at a good pace and includes a couple of surprises to keep things interesting without bogging it down. We also get plenty of steam and a nice HEA epilogue, which made for a great read. Overall, I really enjoyed this one, and I look forward to more from this author.

Highly recommended.

This is a steamy age-gap romance featuring Gabriel and Hazel. Gabriel is Hazel's landlord now that she left her evil stepfather's house and is trying to make it on her own. When she has trouble making the rent Gabriel offers Hazel a deal. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this HOT and STEAMY story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
