Not quite the follow up to Midnight Hunt that I was hoping for, but it wasn't awful. Pretty similar to Kaldheim in quality. Just good enough that I'm disappointed it didn't get a longer page count. Chandra's the main exception, they haven't assassinated a character this bad since JFK. Do you like nuance? Consistent character writing? Well what instead we ignored every previous appearance of Chandra and instead made her act like a 15 year old. Just constantly rushing into stuff, cracking witty jokes, and flirting with the first pretty girl she lays eyes on. Not one mention of Nissa in this entire block. I'm glad continuity doesn't matter and that these are just wacky names and character designs that we can do whatever we want with without any consequences.

I loved seeing more of Sorin in this one, and getting to know just what is going on in that brooding head of his.

One of the few books that I never managed to finish. It was too boring.
