A Sweet Southern Romantic Comedy

I’d do anything to take over my dad’s money management company. Even entertain deer hunters at a cabin in rural Alabama.

Growing up in Atlanta I learned two valuable lessons: how to shop and how to do business. My mom taught me the first. My dad the second. And with his retirement growing closer by the minute, I’m determined to prove my worth as heir to Manderson Money Management.

But Dad keeps testing me, and this time he’s taken it a bit too far. Sending me well off the beaten path to Apple Cart, Alabama. To meet with a couple of men at a hunting lodge and discuss expanding their outdoors store into the southeast.

As if staying in the backwoods with no phone service weren’t enough to push me over the edge, there’s Jack, the owner of the lodge . . .

Let’s just say I didn’t know hillbillies could be smoking hot.

Now, I’m stuck trying to impress two middle-aged, gun-crazed store owners who I desperately want as business partners for our company. Plus, stay calm around one blue-eyed, camouflage-clad lodge owner who I desperately want to kiss.

How will I ever manage to strike a deal with these men I relate to in no way possible? And, even worse, keep my emotions in check around Jack, who I relate to on a much deeper level?

Hunting for Love by Kaci Lane is a sweet, laugh‑out‑loud contemporary romance about Bianca Manderson, a high‑powered Atlanta businesswoman who is determined to prove she can take over her father’s company even if it means trading heels and city sidewalks for mud, backwoods cabins, and quirky deer hunters at a rural Alabama hunting lodge. What starts as a business trip to win over skeptical outdoorsmen unexpectedly turns into an opposites‑attract story full of salty banter, heartfelt discoveries, and the very real possibility that love might be found far from where you planned to look.

From the opening scene, where Bianca’s polished world collides with Jack’s rugged, earthy charm, I was smiling at how vividly the characters were drawn and how warmly the southern setting came alive. Bianca’s city‑slicker discomfort and Jack’s genuine, down‑to‑earth kindness made their interactions both hilarious and surprisingly tender, and I found myself rooting for their connection through all the charming cultural clashes and unexpected mishaps.

The humor is big and joyful, the chemistry between the leads made their growing respect feel authentic, and the way Bianca begins to appreciate a life outside boardrooms warmed my heart.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. I’m giving Hunting for Love this score because it is a romantic comedy with charismatic leads and charm.

It left me grinning and brimming with affection for these characters and their journey, perfect for readers who crave a light, cozy, and joyful love story.

Absolutely Adorable! Bianca Manderson trades her heels for cowgirl boots in this delightful light-hearted RomCom. Bianca Manderson, a NY fashionista/vegan is sent to Applecart Alabama hunting lodge on business. What begins as almost enemies between Jack, a hillbilly sportsman and Bianca, develops into an adorable and funny romance. Kaci's books remind me so much of Sophie Kinsella romcoms and love both authors!

This is a very good book. These two couldn't be more opposites. Bianca was a city girl and Jack a country boy. I loved how she experienced new things that weren't in her confort zone. She really liked him and wanted to make things work. Jack really liked her too but he heard things out of context and instead of discussing with her, he just broke her heart. I felt really bad for her when he did that, she didn't deserve it. But I liked the ending scene, it was hilarious with the deer. Overall, they were a good people and complemented each other really nicely

Hunting for Love by Kaci Lane is a sweet romantic comedy that had me laughing out loud. Bianca Manderson works for her father in Atlanta and is pretty much a city slicker. Jack Jackson owns a deluxe hunting lodge in Alabama and loves his small town life. .

This book was exactly what I needed. It was laugh out loud funny, the characters were endearing, and the setting at the hunting lodge made this suburban girl want to visit by the end of the story. had trouble putting the book down and it was a wonderful quick read. I loved the theme of appreciating the different lives that people lead and learning to get along with all types of people. The engaging characters were charming and I looked forward to meeting them again in the next books in the series.

This is an opposites attract romance that is such a delight. It is laugh out loud funny and you will be so glad you read it. I recommend Hunting for Love by Kaci Lane.

I was given a copy by the publisher and not required to write a positive review.

“ “I have a gift for her in my truck.”
“Well, you can put it in my car.” Ariel smiles.
“With all due respect, ma’am, I don’t think you have room in your trunk for a dead body.”

This was a new author to me and she didn’t disappoint. Lots of funny cliches and sayings inserted into a sweet story of opposites attract. The two main characters couldn’t have been more different, yet they found common ground.

After conquering seemingly insurmountable obstacles they finally find their way.

If you like a clean romance with lots of southern sass this book is for you.

Bianca made me laugh. She is so not set for the outdoors and meets her match when her dad sends her to meet with the owners of an Outdoorsman company. And then there is Jack...man, the chemistry right from the beginning was great in this book. And there was a lot of wit and fun in this book. I really had a great time reading this book with a lot of laughs. I recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Getting Her Feet Wet... Figuratively . . .

For anyone who has spent even a little time in an absolutely delightful Southern town, this story should strike a chord with you and set you on the road to reminiscing about the good times. I really enjoyed it! The story was well-written with humor to draw the reader in. Bianca’s dad is thinking about retirement and Bianca has dreams of taking his Manderson Money Management business which she has been groomed for.

Trying for something different to make an impression on her father, she aims her deal at a company with focus on outdoor sporting stores. Going to Apple Cart, Alabama, she will meet with two men, Macon and Ronald, at a hunting lodge and discuss expanding their outdoors store into the southeast.

Things don’t always work out as Bianca plans them, but she has enthusiasm and is really trying to make things work for everyone. Being attracted to Jack, the owner of the lodge, was an unexpected perk. But when she has a solution for his money issues by selling off some family land, he firmly puts a stop to it and she isn’t sure why he is dead-set against it. Will she be able to help her new clients? Will she be able to smooth things over with Jack?

This was a fun story that held the reader’s interest and will make you smile. The characters are engaging and Bianca works hard to make things right. It isn’t easy to fit in with those outdoors-loving men and their choice of sports, but she gave everything a try. Grab your copy and see how she handles her big solo deal.

This was a well written, funny and entertaining story. Bianca wants to take over her father's money management business & knows she must branch out from the usual clients she's worked with, so what better way than to work with a company that has Outdoor Sports stores. She goes to a small town in Alabama called Apple Cart to meet up with her potential clients, two men who are into hunting and fishing. She becomes attracted to the owner of the lodge and decides to try all the activities to win over her clients. She never thought she'd be shooting a deer but she does. As things go on, she really gets into everything the lodge has to offer, including the owner. This was a wonderful story and kept you engaged. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was so funny, romantic and …gruesome, if killing deer isn’t your thing! Loved, loved, loved this story! Glad God was mentioned but a bit more would’ve been great!

This book made me laugh and want to cry in other parts. Couldn’t put it down!! Learnt so much about hunting deer as well but don’t think I would be as brave as the heroine of the story…read it to find out!

Received this as an Advance Reader Copy and it was absolutely brilliant!! Highly recommended!

A sweet read

This was an easy to read, sweet southern romance...just as described.

I did like some parts of this one.

But... I found it really predictable and a bit cliché. A city girl, country boy...and all their differences. (Meh)

I enjoyed their HEA and if you're looking for a cute, easy read, choose this one.

What could happen at a hunting retreat?

Jack Jackson and Bianca are an extremely unlikely pair. But somehow it works after some important mistakes and miscommunication. Maybe somebody is a little hard headed. This is a fun and entertaining story.

I read this book in a special edition in the "Head over heels: a rom com collection". It is a sweet, clean romance.

I loved the idea of the log as a business retreat. I also loved Jack, and how real he was since the beginning. The banter and chemistry between them was really good. The kisses 💞🌟

However, I did have some troubles warming up to Bianca, at first she was so rude. But as Jack and the log creep up on her, it was a different character development.

I was also shocked into the details of huntung, as a person that does not participate in that type of activity, I felt like I knew exactly the context. I also wanted for the end to be a little bit more extended, for them to work out longer their issue, but over all it was a really good wrap up.

BRIEF SYNOPSIS: Bianca is set to prove to her dad that she has what it takes to take over the family business. Even if that means meeting with clients at a hunting lodge in Alabama. What she didn’t count on was catching feelings for the attractive owner. Jack really didn’t expect to develop feelings for the city girl who’s staying at his lodge for a business meeting. But there’s something about her that he can’t resist. These two are total opposites. It shouldn’t work….but could it ?

I was so excited to stumble upon this author because she is an Alabama girl who writes romances set in Alabama and as an Alabama girl myself, I knew I had to read it. And if this just wasn’t the cutest thing. This is an opposites attract, city girl/country boy romance and it was so adorable. There were a couple of twists in this plot that I didn’t see coming at all, and I really enjoyed where this story went. The airport scene had me cracking up and I could totally see that scene on my TV screen.

I really enjoyed seeing Bianca branch out and take some chances. She’s a typical “city girl” but she lets her guard down and even enjoys country life. And I loved that even after she left the lodge she didn’t completely abandon either persona. She found a way to still be the powerful businesswoman she had been, but with a mix of the laid back country girl she had become on her trip.

If you love Hallmark movies, clean romances, or small towns where everyone knows everyone’s business then you should check this one out. Thank you to the author for sending me a copy!
