The Last Hope
Two years after narrowly escaping the clutches of Mitchell Gander, Ryleigh Wade is recovering mentally and looking forward to celebrating her birthday at her Dad’s log cabin by Lake Cwellyn with a group of friends, and her new boyfriend.
Longstone Prison Superintendent Devin Wade has survived the fallout from the slaughter at his daughter’s twenty-first birthday party. Forced to keep the tests going by his paymasters, Wade and neurosurgeon Klaus Jancke have regenerated the Gander brothers and Autumn Hacker in the basement of the prison and continued the experiments.
With even greater supernatural powers than before, the only thing that keeps the serial killers from breaking out of prison again is a surgically implanted microchip in their brains. While demonstrating The Notorious Six’s powers to General Oppenshaw, Freeman Gander leads another prison break.
Mitchell Gander has a score to settle with Ryleigh Wade and leaves his brother to carry out his own form of justice, while Freeman and Autumn decide to go on a road trip.
With even greater risks, Wade, Jake and Oppenshaw must use every resource at their disposal to destroy the escapees. Their biggest resource is the rest of The Six, but one thing’s for sure, when they go head-to-head, be somewhere else.

He works as a dental technician for Elite Dental Studios in the day, and writes crime/horror/action and adventure/romance stories in the evenings and weekends. After completing his dental technicians’ course at Lambeth College in March 2018, he sat down and started taking his writing more seriously, completing five first drafts of novels in a year.
A graduate of criminology and criminal justice studies at the University of Portsmouth, he has always had an interest in crime, specifically abnormal psychology. It was while studying criminology that he penned his first (unpublished) novel, which, he says, will never see the light of day.

If you risked throwing your book or Kindle after reaching the end of book 1, well..... brace yourself (and your stuff) because the ending on book 2 is even better? worse? Whichever phrase you use, as you finish the last sentence, just set things down and then run away from anything that you could possibly grab and throw because you are going to want to.
Book 2 really took an interesting turn that I honestly wasn't expecting. Ryleigh has tried to move on alongside her friend Maddie and man, the adventures in this book definitely do not disappoint. For the first time, you got to see Ryleigh as something other than a victim. And Brockwell wrote her so masterfully. But the end... the way he did her at the end...
I need another book in this series or I need him to work with Netflix or Hulu or some streaming service to make this into a series. Truly.
In some ways, this book is a bit more graphic than the first but again, Brockwell weaves it so well that it's not unnecessary gore. It flows with the story and just makes you keep going.
Hands down, Brockwell has written my favorite series of the year. Go read these. NOW. I promise, you won't be sorry. But you might want to wait and read during daylight. With lights on. And people around you.

I will pretty much use the same review from book one as this second instalment as it’s a great read just like the first book. If you like your books gruesome and truly blood, guts and gore galore then this is definitely for you. Escaped convicts reaping torturous havoc on the local community, I won’t write about the storyline as you’ve read the blurb, or maybe you haven’t but your in for a great read.

After reading The Notorious six (The Escape) I didn't think that Mr Brockwell could make the second book live up to the first.
What an idiot I am. Duncan has not just improved from the first book but has absolutely blown the horror world wide open!
Two years after the first book, everyone believes that the Gander brothers and Autumn Hacker are dead. What little does everyone know that prison warden Wade took them back to Longstone prison so that they can regenerate their bodies and give them even more supernatural powers...As if they needed more!
Wade's daughter Ryleigh has tried to put the past behind her after setting fire and killing Mitchell Gander or so she thought.
But when Mitchell his brother Freeman and Autumn escape and release the other one thousand inmates....there is only one thing on their mind. REVENGE.
Perfect for horror reader's. I couldn't put the book down once I started. A true masterpiece of the horror genre and the ending well you have to read it and see what I mean.

Love love loved it!
2nd book of the series and it was as good as the first! I loved this series and there was an unexpected twist at the end.
Such brilliant books, and I am hoping there's too g to be more to the series!
