I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Vile Intentions by Em Torrey
This book was a great mix of an enemies/childhood friends to lovers with some hot spicy scenes, swoony moments between the MC’s, and a suspenseful mystery unfolding throughout.
The relationship between Callahan and Brielle was a slow burn, and I really enjoyed reading all of the firsts they had together. For Brielle, she was relatively inexperienced and Cal had a lot of spicy tricks up his sleeves to teach her 🌶😉. For Callahan, it was a joy to read his feelings get deeper for Brielle and start to desire something more than just physical from her 💗
As a reader, I do wish both Brielle and Callahans characters were a bit more developed beyond the chemistry they had with each other. I wanted to learn more about who they were and their personalities. The dual POV gave us a glimpse into their minds which I appreciated, but I would have loved to get more about their pasts and quirks that really made them who they were.
The suspense and mystery aspect definitely kept me on my toes! The pacing was great and plot points that I thought were forgotten about came full circle at the end. I started figuring out the why’s and how’s of the plot as I read but there was a twist at the end that I didn’t fully see coming! The action at the end did wrap up rather quickly however, and I would have loved a deeper explanation or more time spent on the explosive ending as it felt a little rushed.
The epilogue was everything!! I love an epilogue that gives us a glimpse into the further future instead of a couple weeks time. Em gave us a super satisfying ending with all the happy swoony feels.
Really looking forward to seeing what else this author puts out in the future!

I really liked Brielle, enjoying her surprise growth and realization and acceptance that she may never have Callahan despite her love for him for so long. Also her jumping right on the sex and not as timid as he thought. She took control.
Callaghan was great too. They were hot together! I enjoyed his realization that maybe he didn’t have as much control over her as he thought, and his constant surprise.
I would have liked to have seen more tension with Tellisa. It felt abrupt at the end. I also wasn’t a big fan of Callahan’s periodic misogyny, especially at the end. I also would have enjoyed reading a stronger moment when he realized his feelings for her, at least a stronger aha moment.
All in all it was a great read and I enjoyed the premise.

When Challahan’s father passes away he finds out that the treatment trial he was receiving has gone bad and and resulted in a murder. And there was no one else to blame but his long time childhood friend, Dr. Brielle who was in love with him since she was twelve. Determined that she pays for what she’s done, he keeps her captive till he figures out what to do with her. But no way Brielle will go down for something she didn’t do and her goal is to find out what really happened to his father.
This was a beautiful, intense and full of steam romance story that you won’t be able to put down.
Em Torrey is new to me author and I’m looking forward to read more of her work.

This book fell into my lap by accident and man I’m so glad it did. Brielle and Callahan are probably my most favorite fictional couple to date. They have been friends their whole lives and her brother is his best friend. Brielle has loved Callahan since she was a teenager but she never thought she stood a chance with him. Their dynamic is everything. From the moment the book starts their attraction shows. Brielle is a successful pharmacist and Callahan is a rich businessman. When Callahans father dies he assumes it was Brielles fault so what does he do? Makes her pay of course until she can prove otherwise. But instead of only proving she was innocent she also made the man who couldn’t feel feelings fall in love with her. Callahan broke his own rules when it came to Brielle he crossed all his boundaries and he pushed his own limits. He had no intentions of a girlfriend or wife ever in his future. But Brielle she is the exception. Their story is everything I didn’t know I needed.

What can I say about this book? Just wow.
It pulled me in right from the beginning. Callahan was the perfect mix of broody and swoon. He’s a hot executive with an axe to grind in getting to the bottom of his father’s death. His childhood friend Brielle is the perfect prey.
Brielle has been in love with Callahan since she could understand the concept. Now finally able to have him, even if it’s on his terms, she puts her heart on the line to find out who killed his father.
I could no put this book down. Em Torrey draws you in and keeps you riveted the whole time. I can’t wait for the next book!

This is definitely a slow burn read, but the intense chemistry between Brielle and Callahan is so 🔥🔥🔥 I was left satisfied while their relationship progresses.
Brielle and Callahan are either made for each other or a terrible idea. Because she doesn’t take any of his shit and he’s not used to being challenged. But that’s why them coming together through a constant storm of suspense, danger, hilarious quippy one-liners, and exploding sexual tension is so 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Brielle and her twin Brayden grew up with Callahan and Jaxson Reid. She has always had a huge crush on Callahan but nothing ever happens. Callahan’s father dies and he blames Brielle so he tells her to live with him and figure out what happened to his father. Callahan and Brielle get closer and closer. She is breaking through his hard shell. Danger lurks and is coming for them as they get closer to finding out what happened. Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book Absolutely love Callahan and Brielle the supporting characters are awesome. So many twists and turns. Love the spice Daddy Callahan. I love Em Torrey's writing. She makes me fall for her characters, even the ones I hate. I personally: don't care much for Brielle, but I adore her love story with Cal.

This for me was as a ⭐⭐⭐.5
It's the mystery about it that I was a fan of, I started piecing the puzzle together the moment a certain someone was acting a bit suspicious. I wasn't the biggest fan of the relationship between the 2 main characters, to me they just didn't go very well together. I honestly had wished there was more mystery than there was, more of a story for that.
It all just felt a bit rushed for me and I didn't care much for the time skip of the epilogue. It was a good read for the mystery part of the story, to me.

This book pulled me in right from the start. Callahan Reid is the definition of an alphahole and damn if I didn't enjoy it. Brielle is a strong, smart heroine whose childhood crush has been twisted into something much more complicated. Filled with suspense, sexy moments, snarky comments, laugh out loud moments, and absolute fire one-liners you cannot go wrong with this book, and I guarantee, once you start, you won't want to put it down!

Yes!!!!
I went in blind and loved every single second! Brielle spent her entire life loving him from afar, him being a use them and lose them kind of guy made me absolutely melt and squeal with excitement to experience their story as lies and secrets changed their lives. I did not see that twist at the end coming either! I wanted more and cannot wait for the next 🤌❤️

Holy Smokes
This book has it all, suspense, a little manipulation, and lots of spice. This book has been on my TBR, and I'm so happy that I finally got to read it. Em, you seriously brought it with this book. I seriously recommend you read this book. Now, I'm off to read the next book in the series.

The book felt rushed and was easily predictable. There were a few notable spelling/grammar errors towards the beginning of the book. The FMC went from 0 to 100 on the 🌶️ train and the MMC threw his promises of vile intentions out the window real quick. It was an entertaining enough story to keep my attention even though you could see where it was going and who dun it right from the get go.

This book took me off guard. I was looking forward to reading it but once I got into it I was VERY MUCH into it! It has it all. Childhood friends to enemies ✔️ Intrigue✔️ unique storyline ✔️ swoon worthy, steamy characters ✔️✔️

Much Too Short
It was a great story. But everything happened so fast. I feel like there was a lot of potential for more love/hate, more tension building, passion, ownership etc. That being said, for a quick read, buckle yourself up and enjoy the ride! ( hopefully in an R8 😏)

Callahan, Callahan I loved the back and forth between him and Brielle and strong man and a strong woman. This story has a great plot and beautiful HEA. Great banter and spice. If you like a some what CEO romance with good romcom this is a good book for you!

This book was one of my favorites I have ever read! Mr Reid is sexy, a god, a woman’s fantasy come to life! His love for B really took over and you Got to see a side of him I didn’t think would come out. But the characters in this book are amazing B is the bomb :-) she won’t let anyone put her down or stand for any crap! I loved this book so much for sure one of my favorites. It’s a must read!!!!
