Falling For My Assistant

Rate this book
Sean Stephens is finally invited to his boss’s famous New Year’s Eve party, but there is only one problem: he doesn’t have a date. The party is pairs only, and if he doesn’t come up with someone to go with, he can kiss his best chance at rubbing elbows with the big bosses goodbye.

Enter his assistant, Erin Smith. She has been with him for two years and knows everything about him. She would be a perfect stand-in if only he can convince her to go with him.

Erin is surprised by the invitation, but figures that it would be better than her usual pathetic New Year’s Eve plans so she accepts.

With the help of a fashion designer friend and a fabulous gown, Erin gets dolled up and out of her comfort zone to hob-knob among the bosses.

Surprised to see a fiery, sexy woman underneath her oversized cardigans, Sean realizes that he might just be falling for his assistant.

Janet Berry is a USA Today Best Selling Texas-based author of multiple novels spanning a variety of romance sub-genres. She still has the first book she ever wrote when she was 14 (and she uses the term book very lightly.)

When she is not hiding in her office writing, she enjoys watching cop shows, military shows, and lots of cooking shows. (Even though she isn't that great of a cook!) She also constantly annoys her fur children (and probably her human child, too) by taking way too many photos of them and they often end up on her Instagram.

She also enjoys streaming on the web streaming service, Twitch.tv and you can find her there playing video games.

Sean is looking forward to going to the famous New Year’s Eve party organized by his boss, but he desperately needs a date. Who better than Erin, his faithful assistant who knows him and his habits?
Erin is quite smitten by her boss, but she doesn’t want to ruin their professional relationship, of course. But when he asks her to accompany him at their big boss’s party she’s happy to spend a different New Year’s Eve and with him, to boot.
And then she’s swept away by the preparations for the party, like a modern Cinderella with a new dress and a dashing Prince Charming at her side…
Falling for His Assistant is a cute novella with plenty of steam, two endearing characters and interesting side themes, like self-acceptance and sexual harassment in the workplace. The author is good at fleshing out a kind and honorable man like Sean and an insecure and adorable woman like Erin and it’s a pleasure to see them find their HEA.
