Resist is a friends-to-lovers romance from the completed Carter Brothers Series. This standalone dual-POV novel will keep you captivated with steamy scenes, emotional connections, and a Happily Ever After with no cheating!

In the small mountain town of Piney Grove, Brody Carter struggles after a near-death experience fighting wildfires. He questions the firefighting career he has built with his twin brother, unsure what his life would mean without it. Amidst this turmoil, he struggles to accept that the woman he’s pined for his whole life seems more interested in other men.

Meanwhile, when Amy Hall suddenly finds herself jobless, her best friend Penelope Collins offers her a position at her cafe, Mabel’s Manor. She begins working alongside Penelope and the sassy Jonah Young, who just so happens to be roommates with Brody, the friend she’s had a deep connection with since childhood. Amy always assumed that Brody would be her first, but after his repeated denials, she tries her best to move on from her hidden desires.

After years of missed connections and miscommunication, a blizzard unexpectedly strands Amy and Brody, pushing them together. When the lights go out and with nowhere else to turn, their built up tension finally erupts. When Amy wakes up alone, she’s left hurt and confused. But as Christmas nears, she’s surprised to find out she’ll be giving Brody the gift of a lifetime. Will he accept it?

I really wanted to like this one, but I had a really hard time liking it. They both drove me nuts. If you don’t like the lack of communication/miscommunication trope, do not read this one. You’ll be frustrated and roll your eyes multiple times.

And like the previous ones in this series, there was a lot missing to me. Lack of actual interactions and a lot of recapping and internal dialogue.

I am loving reading this series!!! The town sounds like a place I would love to live, and the Carter brothers are just adorable! I can't wait for book 4 - each book gets better and better. I would highly suggest this to anyone who likes Marie Force or Jill Shalvis books. This new author writes just like they do, and I can't wait to read more,

No communication

So this story delves into the no communication era we seem to be facing. Assumptions, no talking, lots of hurt feelings all which could've been avoided if they'd simply talk to each other. Hiding from each other only hurt them and put off starting their forever.

Good

This was a good read, the only part that I didn't really get was how they didn't communicate. All their problems came from the ability to communicate or express what happened, or what they were feeling.

Awesome story

This was such a great book. I'm so glad Brody and Amy finally got their Happy Ever After. Patience and understanding can work wonders in a relationship. Can't wait to read Mason's story next...

After seeing peeks into Brody and Amy's story in previous books, I was excited to find out the details of their relationship/past. As childhood friends, so many issues could have been avoided if they'd just talked to each other. While I enjoyed the story well enough, miscommunication (or just refusing to communicate and pining instead) can be frustrating as the reader. I'm still glad they got their HEA though. And I enjoyed seeing the supporting characters more
