To quote Good Ol’ JR, “Good gawd!’ This read just like a porno. Girl is visited by a random dude, who turns out to be Krampus, ready to make her pay for her naughtiness with Christian Grey caliber sexual abuse. That was literally the entire story. Had some pretty hardcore stuff in here, too, so reader beware. This is part of a series, in which there is a land where humans and monsters live together in certain areas. Part of me wished there was a werewolf staring in the window at the Krampus roughing up young Noelle, touching himself inappropriately. I would’ve dropped my Kindle laughing. The writing was good and the sex was very graphic and raw, which some people may be into, but it’s not to my particular taste. I know, I know…I’m just a fuddy duddy. However, I will think twice about bad mouthing Santa if this is what ends up happening. I’m just too pretty to be a notch on Krampus’ bed post. Or cave art. Or wherever the hell that thing sleeps.

Noelle has had a crappy Xmas so far she’s dumped she’s cursing Saint Nick up and down.. and she bumped into a stranger who she apologized to she gets help and there’s something about the man that has her all in knots.. and boy what she does when he helps her put up her tree i was like this is a start to a porno lol
Krampus is here to punish her for being a naughty girl and cursing Santa XD. And Noelle does what any sane person does runs lol good thing this monster loves to play with his naughty peeps.. and boy when he catches her it is yummy and steamy… I did wish there was more… we did get a HFN between the two… but kinda expect that.

Well this was...something. I gotta say, 10/10 entertainment value and literally like 50 pages. Were those 50 pages braincell-crippling? Just a lil 🤗. But! This was exactly what it claimed to be: a (hella) raunchy Christmas novella. As we all know, I'm super picky with novellas (sorry?) but this one actually did most things right? No ILYs? Check. Consistent smut? Check. And with a bonus uh...uniqueness 😊. This book knows it's a Christmas novella and it abuses that theme to the max. I'm talking Christmas lights bondage, and (still processing). I should probably emphasise that this is pretty dubcon: there's some blah blah about safewords/signals but it was cheaply/wonkily done, I can't lie. And some of it did just feel like one of those terrible porno premises..., bye. So...I can't recommend this (who can?) but fun it certainly was 😊! (Other than the clarification that he has , though I have read worse (I think?)). Got this rec from Ava (@ava'sromancebooks) 😁.

3.75 ⭐️ Pure Smut, and I really, really liked it!
Noelle has just broken up with her boyfriend and moved out of the home they shared. It’s the night before Christmas, and she decides to get a tree for her new home, but it’s too late and most Tree Farms and stores are either closed or tree-less. When she finally finds one and tries to carry it to her place by herself, she ends up cursing up and down any and everything. She manages to take the tree to her door, only for her to slip on ice and fall… and for a handsome, tall stranger to see it all and ask if she needs any help. Little did she know that helpful and kind stranger was none other than Krampus. And he was out on a mission to find her.
Almost the entirety of this novella is degradation and punishment/ pain-play, which is not at all my thing, or something that’s ever worked for me before, but the whole monster romance thing apparently lets my brain to make allowances… because I loved this. It’s Single POV from Noelle’s perspective and that really helped, since she was really feeling it the whole time. I also think this quote sums up why I could enjoy this:
I think that’s my problem with a lot of Dom/Sub dynamics in books. They have doms that don’t actually want to dom, they want to own and change their subs however they want. It’s like they go from people with free will to become malleable objects for them to shape into whatever they feel like– most times with pain/manipulation even outside of scenes. And, of course, I can understand giving someone permission to punish you if you’re willingly submitting to them and then you break the rules. But you’re still a person who can break every rule there is, knowing that it will have consequences. I’ve dnfed so many books where the dom was just exploitative and barely saw their sub as a person. It irks me. But, yeah… That does NOT happen here. Krampus was intense plenty, but he took aftercare and safety seriously, which was so nice to see.
It’s mostly smut and, in my opinion, it’s missing a chapter at the end but if you’re looking for a super spicy holiday read, this is it!

This book is just what I needed to get me into the holiday spirit. I have liked Krampus but this is the first time that I have read a romance story featuring him. Oh boy, oh boy. Forget being on the "nice" list, I want to be on the "naughty" list.
Noelle definitely got more than she bargained for when she met Krampus. Forget dreaming of sugar plum fairies, it is all hot, steamy dreams of a tall monster with claws and glowing eyes. This was a really fast read for me. It got me excited to check out the other book in this series. Grave Tidings is a yummy, holiday treat that you don't want to miss!

Aside from that gorgeous cover, the book didn't disappoint either.
I especially liked how many details Salem paid attention to and I love naughty Siena. I laughed so hard when the f*cking tree slid down the stairs. Felt it way too much. 😂
And by the way: What a stunning Krampus. Unusual, but hot as f * ck - I'm a sucker for long white hair. The end was very sweet. My knees go weak, for monsters and men who make others feel good and happy. I gladly take the hope of a repeat with me.

OK let’s be honest we all know I read this book not for the plot but for spice. I got exactly what I wanted no plot, just pure hot BDSM done right. A- for setting scene, safe words, and aftercare. Only reason why there’s an a minus is because of the dubious consent in the beginning but remedied later on. 10/10 would recommend.

It’s like the book couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be a quirky comedy or an actual story, so it just leaned all the way into the weirdly funny moments and left everything else behind. Which, fine, I like to laugh, but I also like, you know, a reason to care.

My kindle unlimited experience has let me to some odd books….some good/some bad… but this one ehhh. I picked it for the Christmas theme… maybe a Christmas romance…the bad guy of Christmas needs love too, right?…. But this was way to sadomasocist for me.
