The Galaxy is split between two sides: the Heroes, and the Villains.

Nyphelia is a Hero.

Following in the footsteps of her father’s legacy, Nyphelia works for the Stars United--a governmental group working on protecting people who can’t protect themselves, and keep the Galaxy from destroying itself. For all of her life, Nyphelia has feared nothing more than the power that lives within herself. She has a gift. A mysterious power that no other being in the Galaxy has ever possessed before.

Sylvia is a Villain.
Leaving behind the path of her family, Sylvia follows down the road of a Villain. Sylvia is recruited by the most fearsome Villain in the Galaxy--a path that there is no going back from. A path that makes her the enemy of her twin sister, Nyphelia. Starting with the loss of her family in a terrible natural disaster that destroys eighty-percent of homes in the Galaxy, Sylvia is derived with anger, vengeance, and an ugly scar across half of her face.

When the life of the Galaxy is under threat, both sisters are given a mission that will determine the future of the entire Galaxy.

And their objectives are each other.

Hannah Coppernoll developed great characters and a great story line that catches your attention right from the start. The ending gives you a satisfying ending for the first book while still leaving room for the rest of the trilogy. Overall, Exulansis is a fantastic read for those who love space, family, found family, friend dynamics, and more! I can’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy!

I feel like there aren’t enough space adventure books out there, so finding an one was exciting for me. Exulansis has lowkey Star Trek vibes, I feel like. I do love the space setting.

The characters also seem cool; I did have a little trouble connecting to them but I love that they all have individual personalities and aspirations, hopes, fears, etc. We needed more of my boy Laiku though.

The plot felt slow to me at the beginning, but then again I think that a lot XD, I have an obsession with speed ig. It was much faster paced toward the end.

Anywho, I’m excited to read Hiraeth next. I already ordered it and hopefully it comes sooooon :D

Exulansis was an excellent book! Two sisters, Sylvia and Nyphelia are torn apart at a very young age and end up on opposite sides of a galaxy-wide war. Sylvia becomes a “bad guy”, and Nyphelia, a “hero”. I thought it was an awesome way to explore both side of the war and see their strengths and weaknesses. I will admit that in the beginning the twins were annoying me somewhat, I felt like they were too one dimensional, but it turned around towards the end and I saw a lot more from them. The whole crew was awesome, and while I didn’t think I would like all the different POVs, since I’ve read a book like that before and I hated it, mostly because there ended up being too many plots going on at once, it was a good way to see a bit more from all the characters, and I liked how cohesive everything felt, Sylvia wasn’t here doing this while Nyphelia was over there and Aiden was somewhere else with Zoey. Overall an awesome read and I can’t wait for book 2!

A sci-fi family feud with an explosive ending.

Exulansis tells the story of twin sisters who have taken up opposite sides in a gala at wide skirmish. Taking the side of the Villains, Sylvia has an attitude, a chip on her shoulder, and something to prove to her boss. Quieter but wielding electric powers, Nephelia works for the Stars United to defend the Galaxy from her sister’s crew of Galaxy terrorists.

To be completely honest, this book was a struggle in the early parts. The POV switches between eight different characters which made it difficult for me to appreciate the most important ones. Also, the writing needed some variation, especially in the early parts. The writing did get much stronger by the end.

And that’s truly the selling point of this book. The final third of the book, I read in a single day (which is a big deal for me because I’m a slow and easily distracted reader). The author gave us plenty of reason to care about the characters. She gives us plenty of action and some really well-written plot twists.

Overall, give Exulansis a chance, and the ending will most definitely pay off. I’m glad I read this book, and I definitely plan on reading the sequel.
