I quit after 3 chapters. The story had potential, but the writing... Carmichael needs both a proofreader and an editor. Half the plurals were achieved via 's. Makes me wonder which are typos.

I didn't mark the weirdness until I got to chapter 3, so the following examples are all within a few pages of each other.
Ashton took the hint he wanted some space and time alone with his sister. Ashton rose and walked toward him. When he was beside him, he didn't know if he should kiss Quinn or not. He grabbed him and kissed him quickly {who kissed whom} then gently pushed Ashton toward the kitchen.
Next paragraph: "Quinn watched as Ashton leave (sic) the room with his dog and cat trailing behind him." For the record, dog and cat are Quinn's.

"He picked up a fork and spared a piece of green beans..." That's exactly as it was written, aside from the ellipses.

Further in the same paragraph:
Later after the meal was consumed they relaxed in (emphasis mine; lack of commas, the author's) -- he leaning against Ashton -- with Gabe sitting beside them. Zeus and Isis curled up in he (sic) and Ashton's feet.
*Gabe is Quinn's sister, Zeus and Isis his dog and cat.

This reads, to me, almost like a really bad translation. And none of it would be horrible on its own, but this was all within a few pages.

So, if this sort of bad English wouldn't bother you, you might enjoy the book. Otherwise, nope.
