The Broken Court

Rate this book
A fresh and dark urban fantasy abounding with treacherous secrets, desperate fights, and an angsty romances that could ignite the pages. I had no idea how mystical and horrifying life as a Fae princess could be. When prince from the past offers me sanctuary, what price am I willing to pay for an alliance? Friends are disappearing all around me, and the enemy is moving under our radar! The enigma from my past cannot help me without endangering us all, so I have to help myself. I make a deal with the prince from the Elemental Court. Although I’m no closer to breaking my curse, the memories are starting to trickle through. They raise more questions than answers. With the secrets of the past buried behind the wall in my head, every step I take must be calculated. Breaking my curse is the most important thing… Until I’m offered a choice to do so. I f you like fierce heroines, powerful heroes, terrible secrets, and slow-burn romances, then read the urban fantasy The Broken Court , the second book in the Kyra Baxter Trilogy! **This is the middle of a trilogy and ends in a "to be continued" cliffhanger. ***Author’s this book may not be suitable for everyone in terms of content, language, and passionate happily ever afters!

The Broken Court starts out right were The Cursed Princess ended. This book is packed with action and slow burn love.

While Kyra still feels that she's better than everyone else, there are times in this book when she's better. However, I'm not sure that she's the brightest bulb in the box. As far as I can tell, most of the answers are right in front of her, but for someone who was top of her class, she can't seem to put 2 and 2 together.

Impy and Visha are by far my favorite characters in this book. Drystan would be if he were in it more.

The plot is what drives this story. It is well thought out, and I'm curious to see how Michaels ends the series.

Can barely take the time to review this before diving into the final book of this trilogy! The fist novel pulled me in with the romantic interactions and built up a whole world and stand up friendships and hidden agendas all without me noticing. In this novel the romantic indecision is nonexistent but the continued world building and progress of the characters and continued loyalty and perseverance was just as rewarding! I can’t wait to see if the final answers and conclusions in the third novel play out how I’m expecting!

Strong females characters make for a great book

Loved how strong Krya became in this book. Fighting not just for herself and her power and memories to come back but also for the greater good.
I get a bad feeling from the elemental court.
I loved Impy and what little we saw of Drystan.
