Blackmoor Heirs #4

Wicked Queen

Rate this book
The final chapter of the Blackmoor Heir series.

They tried to make me their slave. But I’m going to turn myself into their queen.

Blackmoor has tried to take everything from me.

My home. My family. My dignity. Even my life.

But instead, I’ve found myself. I’ve found love, even if it’s not what the storybooks say it should be. I’ve found purpose, even if it’s revenge. I’ve found three men who might not die for me, but they’ll sure as hell kill for me.

I was given to them as a pet. A trophy. A slave . A meaningless prize to bolster their claim to a town steeped in blood, sacrifice, and murder.

I became their goddess instead. Dean, Cayde, and Jaxon? They go on their knees for me now. I might belong to them, but they’re mine too. My cruel, savage, merciless boys.

Samhain is just around the corner, and the ritual is about to begin. But it won’t be me on the altar this time. And when it’s all over? It won’t be my blood that spills.

My name is Athena Saint. And I’m about to show you all just how wicked I can be.

Good finish to this series. I think this series could and should have been 3 books but I would still recommend it.

Hardly any plot

I do enjoy me some smutt. But I feel like this book was 90% smutt and 10% plot. The ending was rushed and just... left me lacking.

finally over hard to read tedious in places

I don’t usually leave reviews, 3 or 4 so far despite having read hundreds of books.
But this whole series left me irritated.

The story itself is absurd it was a book of hard misogyny and slave kink sex scenes with very little story in between. Rapists she vows to find and kill she seems to forget about, the time line was illogical more weeks passed than actually exist between the start and end of the books. Sooo many plot holes inconsistencies to mention, other than the first 2 books are seriously degrading to women and i don’t mind the whole men are powerful over women stories till the woman becomes a queen of the story it’s a good empowering genre but this was darker and not in a good way but in a tedious hard to remain caught up in the story kind of boring way,

Add to the fact this could have been a 3 book series had we had just a touch less sex and a lot less rambling the characters would often ramble to them selves about things that didn’t add to the story just repeating things we already knew.

Kinda feel cheated (small spoiler)

Felt cheated this last book. The ending felt rushed and almost incomplete. I felt like Mia was thrown in just because and for someone who want their son to win so bad why was Cayde's dad the one sending the bikers after Athena and going along with the ritual. Idk I almost didn't finish it but I wanted to know how it ended. I don't think Winter should be getting her own book before Mia because I feel like a fifth book or epilogue needs to happen first. I don't feel like I waste my time but I do feel unsatisfied with this last book. Maybe something tying things together in Winter's book will help, not sure but I added it to my tbr just in case.

The Sweetest Revenge

Athena and her men Cayde, Dean and Jaxon finally got their revenge and put a stop to the Founding Families sadistic and archaic rituals. Everyone had something to avenge.

It was a long hard journey but Cayde the Savage, Dean the Cruel Lord and Jaxon the Merciless King learned that they have been pawns in their Families Games since birth but learning to love gave them the strength and courage to fight for what they believed in and the life they chose to live and it wasn't complete without their Queen.

Athena truly was a warrior. She endured so much since the first time her path crossed with the Blackmoor Heirs. She suffered ridicule, humiliation, unfathomable disrespect, abuse and so much more but in the end she made everyone heel and give her the respect she deserved.

the ending of all endings

I did not know you could fit so much into one last book . We have motor cycle fight club, romance, 3 best friends and a pet turned queen , revenge . A battle to be all battles , knives fists and kicks punches and thrown bodies but does everyone walk away not hurt noooo! Girl power and all that as well Omg you could have more books or finish it so good

disappointed

I’m disappointed in this ending, it felt rushed and flat. I liked the characters and I didn’t like them at the same time. But, seriously, that ending ruined it all for me. I can’t even put into words what all bothered me about it. Just know I absolutely disliked it.

Not what I was hoping for.

95% of this book was of them having sex. The rest of the book seemed like it was put there as a filler. There was hardly any plot and seemed rushed.

This rise of a queen!!

This is book four in the Blackmoor Heirs series and what a fantastic series it is!!! The men who run Blackmoor think they can get away with whatever they want. Making their sons play a stupid game to see who gets to rule Blackmoor next. They thought giving their sons; Cayde, Dean, and Jaxson a toy (that being a virgin named Athena Saint) was a good idea. The game was to see who could convince her to willingly give up her virginity to them and that heir would be the next ruler of Blackmoor. Too bad they didn't count on Athena not playing by their rules. She will rise to be the queen with all three heirs by her side because even with all their struggles there is no stopping love!!

The author did not skimp on the smut in this book. I am glad we finally got all of them together in this books. I was holding out for when Athena and all her boys finally got on the same page and started wanting the same things. Not the ending I was hoping for , but wasn’t a bad one.

If it wasn't for the smut, I would have given up on this series. I was so disappointed. This series had a lot of potential but the quality of the writing fell with each book I read. We barely even get a plot in this one. I swear. Barely anything happens in the until the 80ish% mark. Like I said in my review of Cruel Lords these characters barely interact with each other! Dean and Cayde's personalities do a 180 and now they suddenly want to run Blackmoor together. Are you kidding me?
Even after reading hundreds of pages of repetitive monologues, I still don't buy it. And don't even get me started on Jaxon and the stuff with his ex. I was pissed! I'm still not convinced that he actually loves Athena because he genuinely loves her and not because he sees his ex in her.

The resolution was rushed and fell flat. By that point, I didn't even care.

I hate leaving negative reviews but I also hate the time and money I wasted on this series to be this disappointed.

I felt really let down with this last book. I enjoyed the first two and found the third fine but this last one has me puzzled. First off there was just too much sex. I know I’m shocked I’m saying this too, as a person who loves spice I was bored. It felt like it was just sex scene after sex scene eventually I just skimmed them to get back to the plot.

That’s where my second issue comes in. I felt this book was very rushed. Multiple times Athena says they have a plan but it’s not a good plan. I don’t understand why they had to rush. They had time to figure out a good plan and then we just get more questions and answers. Like why did Clyde’s dad go after Athena why did Pixie agree to try and kill Athena in the fight, why is winter still alive after it seem like she died also, why do we need Mia there that just kind of felt like a cop out to me honestly, just kind of felt like the author wanted to end the series and just rushed it which really doesn’t seem like any of the characters would’ve actually done that they would’ve come up with a good plan before going into this

My third issue with this book is it feels like a lot of the characters were just like out of character like I understand in dark romances, that eventually most of the time things work out but you still get great characters, but they were like grown who were in this book, it just kind of seems like all of them gave up everything we knew about them And also thought very rushed that we were like oh yes, we love Athena now and Athena loves all of us. It just felt rushed and I wasn’t a fan.

Another disappointing ending. I’m not off to a great start with my book selections in 2025.
I read a lot of dark romance and reverse harem. This series had 4 books which should have been plenty of time to build a better plot and more complex story. It had potential to be something so much better than it ended up being. I am all about the smut, but I think the author spent way more time detailing the smexy scenes instead of the rest of the story.
Around 90% of book 4, it felt like the author remembered it was time to wrap everything up. Four books lead up to the shortest grand finale. There were many things I thought were left unresolved at the end as well.

SPOILER: Winter was a terrible human and deserved to be killed off with the rest. At the end of book 4 I got a preview of the new series that has Winter as the main character! I was so mad. I can’t read a series where I’m supposed to end up liking her.

I enjoyed this series and a I felt a lot of the moving pieces finally clicked together during this book. However, I hated the ending it felt abrupt and unfinished I would have lived some sort of epilogue. All the bad things the fathers did like killing her mom and having her kidnapped was hardly even addressed during the big ending show down (which all happened way to quickly). They also had little to no plan how to really deal with there parents which seemed off. I was left with a lot of questions. How and why was Philip able to marry his pet, why couldn’t dean have married his and then allowed Cayde and Jackson to share her. Why wasn’t the fact that cayde’s mom was a pet not a bigger deal he never even went to talk to her about it. How were The dads so okay with essentially ending the king and st.Vincent lines? Nearly everything about the sons/pixies motives were left very unknown.

I genuinely wish I could give a 3.5 rating.

I felt the book overall did what I wanted it to do as far as closing up wounds, answering mysteries and bringing lose ends all together with this final installment. Do I wish the end was more? Yes, absolutely. Was I so miserable I wouldn’t recommend this book or this series?Hmm…no way.

I would repeat the warnings I put in my previous reviews for the first book in this series— though obviously things are less intense and less potentially activating in this book compared to previous books in the series Bc character/relationship development. All in all—I would not recommend this series to anyone who struggles with themes of grief, sexual abuse/assault/violence, and abuse of power.

So I thought I'd just steam thru all 4 books and do just one overall review at the end.

Approx 70% of this was just sex. That's not to say that the writing of it wasn't good - it was, I highly recommend to not read this on public transport or listen to it on audible in public!!!! But it's literally every between 8-10 pages or so, so it became inevitable that I started to skim read.

The actual story... Held merit but due to the amount of sex it was stretched out which was a shame.

This therefore stretched the entire series out.

Very much a trigger warning series - do not go in blind if triggers are in any way going to affect you. From the way the FMC virginity is taken continuing throughout the regular scene playing between 2 of the MMCs and the Fmc

Wow. Darkest one yet.

Whew!

I thought the other 3 in this series were dark and twisted, but this one is the darkest.

Each of the previous stories drove the anticipation for this emotional conclusion higher and higher. While this ending was exactly what I thought would happen, that didn't detract from my enjoyment when it came.

This series is not for the faint of heart, or people with triggers. It has many, many scenes that can be difficult for some.

I sincerely appreciated how the author crafted these characters and the HEA. I strongly recommend reading this book in the correct reading order to get the most from the series.

Good Book

Well now that was a good ending to their story and I’m pleased how they dealt with their families but there is something very wrong with Winter, that girl is deluded beyond reason.
I have enjoyed all four main characters more in the last two books as the first two they were just to violent and disgusting towards Athena.
Mia was also a really nice character and I loved that Athena had her as a friend as she really needed someone on her side.
That ending was strange and I’m sure I have seen his name somewhere before???
Will wait to see what happened in that series as her Dad will be one that got away so unsure if we will see our fab 4 going after the other families.

Wicked Queen

Honestly I rooted see how Athena and Jaxson, I could see how Cayde and Athena could be together, but Dean just no. Don't get me wrong he started to win me over but not enough for him to be sleeping with her. I just found it comical how Athena could give Jaxson a hardwire for how he treated her but gave Dean a complete pass and he treated her 30x worse than what Jaxson did. However it started out brutal and dark, and ended with a crazy, bloody bang. This was worth staying up all night for.

What a series

I almost DNF the first book but I went back to the reviews and decided to finish it and then decide if I wanted to read any more. By the end of book 1, I couldn’t put it down. I was so angry with all four of the boys for the first few books. On the other hand, Athena was so strong and brave. The boys were bullies who I came to understand were pretty packages with damaged insides. I was pulling for them all for redemption throughout the series. I cried and laughed and cheered. I will read more of this author. I’m a huge fan. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5

Why does the ending happen so fast?!

It was such a LONG, drawn out series for it to all be wrapped up in two chapters!
I loved almost everything about this book; and to be honest, the whole series. The way these characters were so very different in the beginning but ended up having the same two goals at the end; destroy what their ancestors and fathers have done and keep Athena as their queen! I wanted nothing but to swallow this book whole. I had to know EVERYTHING there was to know.
It was a stressful but very enjoyable read!

For the series, I give it an overall 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Better than average but not top level. Definitely had some of the best steamy scenes I’ve read in a while. I understand a review where they thought it reminded them of another series but the plot twist actually made it quite different. I thought it was going to be similar to lords of pain but I was pleasantly surprised by the changes 😊 definitely enjoyed and I think I finished all these books within 3 days!

Amazing ending!

First series by Ivy Thorn and it did not disappoint! Athena is a warrior goddess survival in her blood and watching her evolve through the 4 books was amazing she was strong and wicked to the core fiercely defending her men. The guys Dean,Cayde and Jaxon SIZZLING HOT, yes this series had some rough spots and triggers but it left me wanting more.. Would love to see the next phase in their lives as they rebuild Blackmoor..

Conclusion to an amazing series

This book is the final book in an amazing 4 part series. It's full of action, drama, bdsm, dub con, non con goodness.

Does the men's Slave turn into a queen? Read it to find out. Omg this book, no this entire series has almost every thing I love to read.

Be warned serious trigger warnings here my friend. But if you're into dark and dirty... You need to read this!

Karma and revenge is so sweet.

The best for last. The dynamic that comes through with these four to me is something else. They've all been through hell and back, but the relationship between Athena and Jaxon is my favorite. I like all the boys in a different way, but Jaxon is my favorite.

What an ending

I have read these 4 books in order as soon as if finished one I ordered and read the next I've also ordered the next in the new series I cannot wait to read that as honestly I wasn't a fan of winter so now I'm intrigued to see where she goes this amazing author has become one of my favourites

Finally Finished

The ending sucked...big time. I mean what happened afterwards? They said they're going to start over and to find the remaining members and that's it? No epilogue. It would have been nice to see what they have become. I think this could have been duet series instead of 4. IJS

I absolutely loved this series. I adore the guys and Athena. This book was the darkest of the four in my opinion. There was some action, revenge, and some hot sexy scenes. I loved the ending but fill that either the book been longer or there should have been an epilogue. The ending kinda was left open and similar to another cliffhanger. It left you still with a lot of questions. I don't think Winter should be getting her own book. I think there should be something on the town after the ending or something to answer the unanswered questions. All together though. Great book.
