Laurie openly shares her story of a brutal attack in her 20’s and the life she’s led for decades after. She writes in detail how her dreams and personality, family and friendship dynamics, and this horrific crime co-mingle as she moves along her life path.
How does a creative, care-free, intelligent spirit handle the impact of such a gruesome event? Not in a linear, tidy way. No one could.
It is so rare to be able to read about a victim’s survival and life beyond the immediate assault. The everyday impact. And her grit to live a life filled with love and creativity, alongside the chronic pains.
Through hard-earned wisdom and maturity, Laurie provides many insights in the final chapter that we can reflect on for our own lives.

Excellent Contemplation Book

Strange review title but I found myself contemplating many of the ideas, statements, and insight in the book. In many respects, Laura’s life has been almost unbearable but she tells her story with honestly and insight and ends the book with genuine gratitude.
I have purchased several of Laura’s necklaces and they are beautiful! I wanted to get to know the woman behind the necklaces that literally sparkle with a light from the inside.
Laura always sends notes of gratitude with purchases and I truly feel her kind and gentle nature. Laura writes from her heart and I enjoyed the book. I am glad Aaron encouraged her to write it! I feel blessed!
