I have to start by saying the photos in this book are absolutely stunning! This is definitely a book you want to have a physical copy of and it would make a great gift. There is so much information in The Witch’s Complete Guide to Self-Care by Theodosia Corinth. I really enjoyed it and would recommend this book to anyone, whether they are interested in witchcraft or not. I loved the focus on self-care and how it is “meant to build resilience, fortify the spirit, and help us better serve one another.” Yes! What resonated with me most was the Herbal Allies for Sleep and Rest, working with daily meditation and the chapter on Astrology and Tarot was so interesting! I really enjoyed this book.
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed it and it is on my Christmas wish list this year. I want the physical copy for myself as well.
I liked that it had actual logic and the supplies for spells is stuff that is easy to get or you already have at home. No fancy things that cost an arm and a leg, you know actual good witch craft or brujería, a fun word for the same thing
Beautifully illustrated. A nice quick reference guide for self care. While it doesn’t do a deep dive into any one topic I think it’s a wonderful addition to my library
I found so much to love in Theodosia Corinth’s Witch’s Complete Guide to Self-Care that I would recommend this book to anyone, witch or not. Firstly, she gives caring consideration to how the daily wear of the world manifests in our lives, from fatigue and fragility to disconnection and anxiety. We’re not all just “stressed,” and I applaud the space she dedicates to identifying how one is specifically feeling. She reminds us that self-care at its best is “meant to build resilience, fortify the spirit, and help us better serve one another.” And then she drops the word ‘bibliomancy.’ Love. There’s a constant feeling of authenticity in this book – not dimestore pop psychology passing as meaningful guidance. Corinth writes compassionately, constructively, accessibly – and with a focus on intention. Highlights for me were her reframing exercise as “body practice,” the section on Intuition, the entire chapters on Space & Energy and Connecting with Community, and an underlying reverence for nature. She delivers instruction with thoughtful context, and the gorgeous imagery included brings her words magically to life.
I received a digital pre-publication copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review – and loved it so much that I also purchased a physical copy for my own collection.
Ciao, oggi volevo parlarvi anche di questo libro qui, ovvero The Witch's Complete Guide to Self-Care.
The Witches Complete Guide to Self-Care by Theodosia Corinth. The pretty cover drew me in, and a flip through revealed a good mix of illustrations, neutral backgrounds and vibrant, full colour photographs throughout. Books like these can sometimes fall short by prioritising aesthetics over substance, therefore I’ve been extra pleased to find the content engaging and informative. It reads as an amalgamation of self-help psychology, new age Western spiritualism, and eclectic witchcraft practices. Discussion of developing and maintaining boundaries is wedged in with tips for tarot spreads, and breath work for visualisation practice. Great for witches and non witches alike 😊
Thank you NetGalley for a chance to read and review this ARC!
I'm not someone who normally reads this, so I probably don't have the most informed opinion. I did think it was very straightforward and pretty, I have taken a lot of notes from here. I do like the spells and practices, however, I feel like they dumbed this down too much and could have added more information. They did include more resources at the end which I appreciate. A lot of this focuses on using every day acts to take care of oneself and using meditation and methods of meditation.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I like how colorful the entire book is with pictures and illustrations inside. This have almost everything, but the contents are most suited to beginner witches. I loved how there's a chapter about boundaries and I really appreciate when a self-care guidebook like this one includes setting healthy boundaries as one of the self-cares we should practice.
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I am all about self-care. This book provides the different parts of self-care. The mind and body are two of the levels of that care. I like all the little things in boxes that help guide the reader through the different exercises and rituals. I found that tips and journal prompts helpful and want to add more of this book into my self-care routine.
I love the layout of the book. It’s very nice to look at and it looks magickal. There are journal prompts and tips for self care through witchcraft. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone. I will definitely be buying this book when it comes out and adding it to my collection. I cannot wait for it.
I was prompted to read this book by it's cover and the need to update my self care routine.
Beautiful pictures, excellent suggestions for self care in a calming, mind opening method(s). It is a book that would make an excellent addition to any library as it would be well used!
I received a copy thanks to NetGallery for an honest review.
The pages inside the book have beautiful art and pictures. It offers ways to connect with your body and spirit. The images are truly beautiful, the book includes recipes, potions and recommendations. I don’t think I will be using this book; however, it was great to have to opportunity to read it and see the imagery.
Great for a beginner! The book goes through some simple spells, meditation, and a little on tarot and astrology. I definitely grabbed a couple spells to put in my book of shadows, and scribbled down the recommend reading in the back.
4/5 there's a lot on meditation, and I'm bad at it.
Information is split nicely with beautiful pictures to look at along the way. It has some great tips for self-care. And I think it be perfect for beginners. A got a copy from NetGalley for an honest review. I also just picked this book up. And it's even prettier in person
My favorite book that I’ve read in 2023 so far. As a big proponent of self care, I could relate to a lot of the practices outlined in the book. There were a lot of fun facts and interesting topics. The spells at the end were also a nice bonus!
Not something I would not normally pick up at a book store but it does have some good recipes, pot roast & Mac n Cheese included. Also all natural remedies for sleep.
Firstly, I need to stress how beautiful the photography in this book is. The imagery in this book is stunning! Because of this, I think this would make a lovely gift. The content in the book is really interesting, and I certainly learnt some new things and got some inspiration for magick. The book covers a broad range of topics so would be great for a beginner. However some of the spells are quite complex, so the book would also suit a more experienced witch. Think there's a lot to take away from this book no matter what your experience. I really enjoyed it.
I absolutely recommend this to anyone, beginner or not, this is a bible to every witch this will help you come back to your inner self and centre yourself with this guide to nurture your body, mind, and spirit. The illustrations are stunning and is a collector peace of art I absolutely fell in love with it, from meditation to natural remedies I recommend it
This is an unbelievably well thought out and presented book. I adore the aesthetic. Easy to read with excellent illustrated accents. What a delightful shade of blue for the cover. What neat pictures included. Probably one of the most accessible meditation routines I've ever read.
I enjoyed this book and there was certainly a bunch to get out of it, but misspellings (particularly the constant misspelling of “suit” as “suite” in the section in tarot) somewhat took away from my experience reading it. The visuals of the book are amazing though, and I like the spells a lot! Overall very cute.
As a semi spiritual person I completely love this book. It's simple tasks and in depth information and it was a fun little read that I had all year (and totally forgot to track). It us a really fun way for me to practice and take care of myself in body, mind, and spirit at the same time. No matter your denomination I highly recommend for the spiritual peeps.
