Have you ever played a game with your friends where there really weren't any rules and you could just do what ever you could imagine? That's this book. No joke at one point the MC uses an ability his friend has, but imagines it being like 10 times stronger and that's exactly what happens. He imagines he can fly so he can... The closes thing to a consequence to doing this is his chest somewhat hurting but it goes away instantly and has no long term ramifications. They've hinted that doing things like this should drive you crazy, but it just doesn't for any of them. The only thing stopping the group from utterly annihilating the enemy is a lack of imagination.
This is probably the most unsatisfying end to a series since The Iron Druid. Of course there still a ton of wnk, fet, and X scenes, that's all the book is now. It's pure, uninteresting, UNSATISFYING, poorly executed power fantasy cheese. What a disappointment.
It's been one hell of a ride from start to finish with Lion's Quest, and LQ6: Ultimate is the best and perfect ending to an already brilliant series!
If you haven't started the series yet, I highly recommend it, and if you have, you'll definitely enjoy the finale!
The ultimate end to an amazing series and loved every page read. I only put the book down for sleep only to pick it back up again upon waking! My only regret is that it had to end and I finished it far too soon.
Cornalik, you old fucking flirt, you. Damn Leo, how about less gawking at everyone elses fights and, i don't know, concentrate on killing the fucking dragon queen maybe? Geez, make some popcorn why don't you. Also, why is Allurie suddenly #1 girl when in every other book she's been the idiot sidekick? Lucky for her she went mad and ripped Leo's heart out of his chest, i guess. And are you kidding me Leo? "Godhood? No thanks." You do realize that you can ascend to Godhood AND still stay with your harem of human women, wandering the world, right? RIGHT? That's only what Zara was doing for the whole fucking book. You're gonna be pissed when you die in a couple months when some goblin stabs you in the back right through your heart. You'll be missing that immortality then.
Overall, really good story. Flubbed the ending though. Way too much splash, the judges give it an 8.0.
WOW! What an ending! From way back in book one I guessed where this was going (Published January 16th 2017, I read book 1 in 2019) To say more would be spoilers, BUT... This thing goes 20% off the rails at the end. That's all beside the point. This is a good book, and a great end to a great series. I guess, if you've read all the way to here you don't need a review but this is just about the best end it could have.
All in all i enjoyed the books. The story was fun and moved along well. There were a few things i wasn't a big fan of though. I'm not a big fan of the long explicit sex scenes but those are easy enough to FF through so not a big deal. The things that actually became annoying were the constant reminder that all the women were pretty, beautiful, sexy etc... Pretty Little Allurie, I would be curious to see a count of how many times that phrase was repeated. The next thing is the borrowing of skills. Once Leo and his crew learned they could do any skills just by thinking them the book still referred to Leo using so and so person's ability instead of just doing the ability. These two mishaps feel like they were used to add word count to the books to meet a minimum requirement.
Wow, way to wrap up a fantastic series! This book tied everything together wonderfully and it really brought the emotions. I'm sad the series is over, but what a fun ride it was! 👍🏾👍🏾
