This volume is designed to provide a coherent and systematic presentation of the Marxist world outlook as given by the great exponents themselves. It is the first volume devoted exclusively to their philosophical writings, many of which have been scattered through innumerable works.
A perfect introduction to early Marxist philosophy, as this sits between a "beginner's guide" and the actual works of Marx and Engels (and Lenin) themselves. Unlike the former, it's not dumbed down or filtered through the mind of someone you may or may not trust, and unlike the latter it's not going to take a year to read to fully understand.
An old school orthodox reader in Marxist philosophy. It still greatly holds its weight. Would do well to read more up to date anthologies such as the one published at Midwestern Marx, as Stalin, Mao and others are not included for obvious reasons.
