When it comes to motley crews, the Blackout has most starships beat. But as a ruthless force swarms over the quadrant, crushing and enslaving all civilizations in its path, it falls to this unlikely band of non-heroes to turn the tide. If they don't kill each other first. Surge , the eighth book in the Blackout series, is old-fashioned space opera at its best, perfect for fans of action-packed drama and fun! The Blackout series is an homage to thrilling pulp sci-fi of yesteryear. If you're interested in hard science fiction look elsewhere. But if you're looking for action-packed adventures on strange worlds with even stranger aliens, this series is for you!
This one is the next in the line of Blackout series following Revenge book 7. Things get a little bit twisted here and you just have to read the whole series to get involved in this super space action and craziness. I am currently reading "Vanquish" book 9, the last book of this series and will review when I am done. I hope you read this series if you like sci-fi that makes "movies play" in your head like these do mine.
This book was kind of interesting , more so then any of the other books of the series so far. It was packed with action both in space and on different planets. They meet some more aliens , a couple different sets of them and they start out with a battle but end up as friends. Now Jackson is hooked up with a group of aliens that the last time he did this it almost killed him and that is the same path he is headed down now. I have to see what happens in the next book.
SURGE: Book 8. 2 stars One impossible battle escape after another with unlimited warriors on both sides. There is a bright spot when Jackson rescues someone nobody else bothers with, and then the abrupt ending is surprising.
