Oto przepiękna opowieść o panu i kocie, którzy pragnęli miłości.
Big, adorable, and spoiled Fukumaru and his favorite purrson, Fuyiki Kanda, are back. Fukumaru reminds me of my cats when they are playing with the feathered stick, sleeping on top of me, licking with the raspy tongue, squeezing into open cabinets and boxes, and squirming out of hugs. Mr. Kanda becomes more cat obsessed as he goes straight home to tend to Fukumaru, fills his phone with pictures of Fukumaru, and being attracted to all cat theme items. The feeling is mutual. Fukumaru cannot believe his luck. Their happiness and love blooms. I reached out to hug my cats and although I got them purring, they both fled in protests. My “meowy heart goes all warm and fuzzy” with this new installment.
Volume 2 of this super cute series. Mr Kanda and Fukumaru are a match made in heaven. Becoming firm friends.
"There's so much I want to tell you."
We find out more about their backgrounds, and what has caused sadness in their lives. Which is now becoming happiness, as the sun breaks through the clouds. They now have each other.
Bad things happen. We think we'll never find happiness again. That we've been overlooked and won't find meaning or love again. But both Mr Kanda and Fukumaru show that good things can happen.
"Meowmy heart goes all warm and fuzzy."
Mine too.
I'm making this sound over simplified, but that's not my intention. This little gem is as deep as you allow it to be. It's something you have to read with your heart, rather than with your head.
Having read Book 1. A Man and His Cat last weekend, I am just as enamoured with this continuation. Still absolutely and utterly gorgeous. Again, I cannot fault this graphic novel. All the feels ᓚᘏᗢ
It proves to me that love is there if you dare to believe and take that chance.
Cuddles and smooches galore! It's so uplifting. Pets truly are the best therapy.
And it amused me no end that I'm not the only one with a cat that hogs the bed. How do they manage to do that?

I really love the illustrations in this book. Especially the close ups of their faces. So much emotion is displayed!
This series is just refreshingly adorable, loving, and kind. All the good parts that manga has to offer with none of the ills (no contrived fanservice, incest, no panty shots, weird age-gaps, sister complexes, etc) thus far.
I mean it's only vol 2 tho, but so far so good. I loved that we're seeing more of the man's backstory. He was adorable as a child but grew up rather isolated due to his upbringing.
If you want to put your heart in a good mood or unwind after a hard day, then this is the manga for you.
this is such a healing series :”) i love all the little peeks we get into the lives of the side characters, and i’m touched by how the story depicts grief and regret and the mc’s struggle to feel happiness despite the guilt he carries in his heart
A really sweet sequel to the first book, it’s not as sad but still has some tender hearted moments. Kanda and Fukumaru have adjusted to life together and love their days and each other. Very touching.
Another cute volume. For someone who doesn't like cats...this is still a very charming book. We get a little more background on the old man now, seeing why he didn't love animals before meeting his fatty of a cat now. Some really funny moments here too. Again, just a enjoyable, sit down and relax type of story. A 3 out of 5.
The cuteness continues! This second volume delves further into the backstory of both "a man" and "his cat" in the cutest, most heart-warming way possible and shows how quickly a cat can fill a lonely void left by someone else.
This is just as adorable as volume 1 was, but this one gets more into the Man's (Mr. Kanda) life. It touches more on grieving, trauma, along with learning to love again.
I appreciate that this volume touches on more than it just being adorable, even though I love how adorable and cute it is.
Also, I still love all of the meow puns and cat/dog little x buttholes.
Again, if you're looking for a pallet cleanser, I recommend this manga series.
Well I cried. Whoops. To be fair, I think it may be less the story and more my own personal life that caused it. This series is so pure and sweet that it is very good for the soul to read.
A Man & His Cat vol. 2 by Umi Sakurai is just a little too weird for me. The first volume was cute and funny, but this one is weird borderline creepy. The man loves his cat a little too much. He needs to get out of the house and meet new people. Plus the cat is just too much for me with dialogue (well, cat thoughts, I guess) like this: “Mew’re just bad at this, Daddy!” “Mewves like that…” “I’m not letting mew go, Daddy.” “I love getting pets. It feels like meowmma licking me. Meowy heart goes all warm and fuzzy.” The man AKA Daddy is just as sentimental about Fukumaru but without trying to turn every word into some iteration of “meow.” It’s a bit much. The man (Kanda) is grieving for his (dead I’m guessing) wife and I understand that Fukumaru brings him comfort, but it’s a little too cutesy. Plus Kanda’s friend seems like a jerk, and both of the men are kind of creepy looking the way they are drawn (especially if they are yelling or angry). Kanda’s personal history is told in bits and pieces and I’m not quite following some of it. Was he supposed to be the piano prodigy? Or was it his younger brother? Again, I find the manga sometime difficult to follow (literally—right to left, up then down). At any rate, I think I’ve read as far as I want to with this series.

I started reading this series like three years ago or something. Today i felt a bit down, and remembered i had this cute series in my bookshelf. I decided to continue reading it, and omg it was so worth it. It was very calming and nostalgic, but also a bit sad as well. Its a wonderful story. Even though i’m not a huge manga reader, i find this series very good, and it really did brighten my mood. I dont know why i stopped reading it tbh. Its an adorable series, and i will try to continue it now.
(Also, its a very quick read, so its perfect for when you feel like some easy and fun reading)
yk... my cat sadly passed away this week and there hasn't been a day that i haven't cried ever since, so i probably shouldn't have read this today. this is such a beautiful story, it made me remember so much of her and the things she did and why i love her and miss her so much. so ofc i cried while reading it, but it made me feel warm and hopeful that like fukamaru she enjoyed the time we spent together.
