When innocent college student Emily Valdez desperately needs money, she agrees to be the surrogate for Colton Collins, an enigmatic billionaire. But virginal Emily isn’t prepared for the passion that erupts between them, or Colton’s dark family secrets, as she is drawn into a world of fame, wealth, and danger.
I really wanted to love this book but it was all over the place. There were too many conflicts and the main character that I liked at the beginning just became flakey by the end. It also didn’t have a real ending. I think it could have been way better and it could have been steamier. And the editor for the Kindle version should be ashamed of themselves. How many times can you change I am to I’m and not realize it doesn’t work in the sentence? I lost track of how many times that happened in this book. There were a few other small errors, which didn’t bother me. I expect that. But changing this I am to the contraction over and over drove me nuts. Sorry, I don’t usually complain about mistakes because I have fun finding them. But this one was over the top for me.
Left me unsatisfied with lack of steamy, sexy scenes
The story was good. I was a bit disappointed that the story was not finished like a stand-alone novel. Every time this happens to me with a book I buy in Amazon I feel like they are trying to steal my money by stretching a love story that should be complete in a book not 3,4 or 5. The sex scenes were also less steamy than what I am used to reading in a romance novel. Even Harlequin novels have more foreplay in the sex scenes. However, this novel had not foreplay and left me unsatisfied. Everybody who reads and writes romance novels knows there are clean romances where the protagonists do not have sex and there are romance novels where the readers are expecting it to be steamy, very detailed with lots of foreplay and sexy scenes. This romance has sex scenes but they are so short and brief, they are over before the reader can get excited. The author should have decided what type of romance novel this book is (clean and religious or steamy and sexy) and then committed to it by writing good sex scenes. That is why writers have other people read their work and give honest, brutal feedback before it is published.
Once again I ask why is no stars not an option? I should’ve judged this book by its cover because the cover is bad but the book is worse. I’ve never been thankful for fade to black sex scenes but honestly it meant there was less of this book that I had to read. The book ends on a cliffhanger but I would rather jump of a cliff than read the next book in the series
mmc was literally a scoop of plain ice cream. not even vanilla. just plain. like he loves her but they’ve barely interacted in the 5 months they’ve known each other?
the last 100 pages were so unnecessary- it maybe would’ve been 3 stars if it had just ended then but NO. the author had to continue the story leave it on not only such an abrupt note BUT ALSO ON A CLIFFHANGER.
also, warning: the amount of grammatical mistakes made my eye twitch
Great story however unbelievable the plot seems in ‘real life’. The only problem I had with the book is that it reads like someone who does not speak English wrote it and that the proofreaders fell down on their job. There are a lot of awkward phrasings, incorrect grammar and usage of the incorrect word. I would have enjoyed the book a lot more if it had been proofread.
The weird book cover should be a precursor of what is to come. The concept is relevant but also strange.
I’m not sure what to think of Colton and Emily’s unconventional love story. They aren’t a couple you see coming, but work on a weird way. There’s a lot of mistrust and misunderstandings between them. I highly recommend couples counseling.
A look inside the lives of the rich and powerful. This was a long book, and their story is not complete. I’m not sure how invested I am in their story to continue, but it’s not a hard no.
**AND PLEASE-use “I am”instead of “I’m” all the time. It wasn’t used correctly.
This has got to be one of the worst books I’ve ever read, if no stars was an option i would’ve used it. The first flaw in this book was the fade out sex scenes but that’s just personal preference. Now for the main reason,Emily has to be the most dumbest, selfish, and most self centered main lead I’ve ever read about. She goes into this know she won’t ever be in the kids life bc yk surrogate and for the most part has no attachment to the baby what’s so ever. Colton feels like having a baby will bring him hope and happiness to his life and constantly expresses this to Emily. Emily doesn’t want to be another at all but she does have a huge crush on Colton and wishes he would like her back, like if she could only have Colton and not the baby. She constantly is telling people that she got pregnant on accident and isn’t keeping the baby instead of you know TELLING THEM YOURE JUST A SURROGATE!!!. She even tells this to her mother when she specifically knows that her mom would make her keep the baby. Lucky for her Colton tells her he loves her and the first thought she has is that she’s not happy and feels overwhelmed😐.At that point I’m loosing brain cells but it gets worse. She later tells Colton that she doesn’t feel the same and that she doesn’t want to be a mother which Colton tells her he appreciates the truth but is ofc heartbroken. He continues this business relationship with her and is formal and short and that when she gets upset he’s no longer kissing on her ????? And attaches herself to the fetus after being 6 months pregnant she feels bad that she never wanted the baby but now what’s to be another and tell Colton arhat she missives him and does love him while expressing THAT IF HE DOESNT TAKE HER BACK SHELL RUN AWAY WITH HISSSSS BABY.which by the way wouldn’t have worked bc yk contract. this woman is so unhinged and unlikable. Fast forward she crys on her first day back at work and then gets angry at Colton for giving her an option to stay home she then has a fucking psychotic episode at the hospital where she holds a woman’s infant and refuses to give it back and starts yelling “my baby my baby “ when she gets a month off she tells Colton and when he says maybe it was to soon she gets mad again saying that it was just a MINOR setback and that she wants both her job and the baby being completely oblivious to how privileged she is to be able to have the option to be a sahm. She Mets up with her ex and tells him she’s single and starts checking him out and that was the final straw for it was so disgusting. Don’t waste your time

I remember when this was on wattpad and now it’s on kindle unlimited.
I really loved the plot lines and stuff and that the author has refined the story for kindle readers. The wattpad version was much shorter than this one and finished right when she had the baby but this one went on and now I realise it’s a series.
I really liked the premise of surrogacy with her own egg and the billionaire wanted a baby on his own, making them eventually fall in love and raise the baby together. It was sweet and cute but it could get annoying at times especially the FMC she was quite immature at times. The lack of spice was also what made it a 3.5 star rating for me. It had so much potential to be saucy but the author wrote fade to black scenes.
The second book also isn’t on kindle unlimited only on radish so I downloaded it and continued on. Only I don’t like where the story is headed and I have now stopped. I like to believe their story ended when she had the baby. It was a much fitting ending.
I actually devoured this book tho. It was really entertaining and I enjoyed some scenes so most! The drama was really good and kept me on my toes but sadly I won’t be continuing the series. Ppl just say it’s been dragged on.
I really like Colton tho. He’s a really good boyfriend, dad and overall person. But his backstory doesn’t sit well with me. If his brain when to such a dark place once (iykyk), it’ll happen again and I hope Emily isn’t in the crossfires when it happens.
I need more pregnancy billionaire stories tho, they are very intriguing to me.
The Billionaire's Surrogate by Jami Gallardo ✨ Book Review ✨
Rating: 3.5/5
“No matter how much you love someone, sometimes they can’t love you back.”
I really liked this book and it could have easily been a 4-5 star book for me. But I'm super frustrated that only the first book was on kindle and not the rest. You can't even buy a paperback. If you want to finish the series you have to buy a new app which ends up easily costing you over 200$ just to unlock the chapters for the book. The content is getting repetitive with absolutely zero trust, slutty teens, and a baby that's constantly left with a nanny. At this point in the series even though it's a good book it's not worth the money Radish and this author are asking for.
That being said I did like how the protagonist was vulnerable yet determined. I like how she knew what she wanted, but also knew what she needed to do to help those she loved. I liked the story, but it could have ended way sooner. Honestly probably would have been better as a standalone, or an interconnected series.
The Billionaire’s Surrogate by Jami Gallardo should have been a five-star read for me. I love the billionaire’s baby trope, but unfortunately this book frustrated me no end. It really could have been stellar, but needed more sizzle, depth, and development. Also, the author (and editor) needs to banish “I’m’ from their vocabulary. Yes, it’s a legitimate contraction- but unfortunately there were like 3 billion of them throughout the story, and many of them used in place of ‘I am’- which just didn’t work in those particular instances. It made the whole story seem amateurish and very unpolished. The editor really let the side down here. The premise is good, the storyline is interesting and intriguing, the story starts off great, but over time it just gets sloppy and incredibly frustrating. I think with a little more work, a different editor, added depth and intensity, and some extra hot sizzle- tent this book could be quite a captivating and stellar read. I’m left disappointed- for myself and the author.
The author is in a great misconception if she calls this crap a "book"....it was amazing in the beginning, however the quality has only and only dropped. There are new, useless characters in every chapter, senseless plots in its so called "seasons", and by the way, there are about a 118 seasons of this "book" and all are an absolute waste of time! The chapters are so short, and most of them consist of s*x scenes, that people don't even read and just scroll through, the story is dragging for no reason with the same annoyingly, cliché plots. The author, personally, couldn't care less about the angry readers, because she never takes the time to read/reply to DMs or comments on the radish app, that are telling her to either end the "book" or at least come up with better ideas if she insists on wasting her and our time and giving us such brainless thing to read. I have been reading this thing for more than a year at thus point, and decent I decided that I had had enough and stopped reading it.
This short story I found on Raddish started off really well. The story plot started off with a good hook, and the story had a good pace/rhythm. In the beginning it was easy to look past the minor typo and proper formatting. As the story went on and the author tried to add more filler and stretching certain scenes to make the story longer and dragged out which in return made it harder to come back to finish the story.
Overall, the unusual love story of Colton and Emily is unrealistic, but expect for the this story genre. The pair had a interesting but also a weak connection (lack of intimacy) and the only thing that bonded the pair was having a baby. We learn of Colton’s difficult past which gave him a good strong character as well as learning how much Emily is willing to do to financially support her parents while working towards her dreams. They moved past their original agreement that brought them together and eventually their love life started as an immediate family.
Book 1 is pretty good. I first read this in Wattpad and go hooked. I enjoyed Colton and Emily’s story until the author decided to publish it in Radish. I got frustrated with book 2. The plot was all over the place and new characters were added which added unnecessary drama. Reading book 2 was like reading an annoying telenovela. I dropped booked 2 as it was not interesting anymore and paying to read it in Radish was a total rip-off. I guess book 2 is not yet finished in Radish or the author decided not to publish it in Amazon. I wished the author could have just ended this book with Colton & Emily having a HEA rather than making it complicated like it was in book 2.
The story has potential and I liked the idea of it. Unfortunately there were too many spelling mistakes and typos and things like that that didn’t make sense. For example, one name changed the spelling a couple of time and Jenifer became Jenny after 2/3 of the book with no explanation or communication that it’s the same person. It was inconsistent and had too many potential storylines for my liking. The avoidable errors distracted me and made it difficult for me to read. Because of that I won’t be reading part two and am therefore left with zero answers. But that’s okay. It would have been nice to know from the beginning that this isn’t a stand alone book and that the story ends abruptly, then I would have stopped reading much sooner.
Good Lord where do I start? First...Have you ever heard of an editor? It's "I am" not "I'm". It wasn't just once or twice, but in almost EVERY instance. Next...main character Emily? Get a life clue! Geez! I feel like someone else wrote the second half of the book. First half was nice and sweet. However, I was about to put the book down after the baby incident, but decided to gut it out. I wasted my time! All the random things happening towards the end. The dumb arguments. Really?? Can you hear me rolling my eyes? You could have at least thrown some post partum in there. It would have made her irrationality more believeable.
This book was highly anticipated and everyone on booktok was chatting about this book and I was so happy that I was able to get my hands on it. Then I finally got to read it, I loved Colton, he is so guarded but transparent, because we all know that he has these feelings for Emily. Even though I didn’t feel the connection and their romance was something I couldn’t connect with, I loved how open Colton was about his feelings for Emily. I wish there was more spice, and more connection, there was so much happening in the book and not enough time to tell it, I hated how it ended though.
I unfortunately have to finish every book I start even if I absolutely hate it. This book, isn't even a whole book, it ends in a cliff hanger, a lot is unresolved. Also, the story was pretty predictable and there isn't much to this book at all. I think there are watt pad stories that are more together than this. From other comments I have discovered to even finish this book, you have to download an app and then it only releases a few chapters at a time? Idk this whole book was kinda a waste of my time.
I normally don't post about the books I've read. Nor do i post a book the i have not finished reading. I tried I really did. This one is a no for me.
Is it bad no but its too long winded in the parts that don't need to be and to short in the areas that could be expanded on. Also I know it's a book but home can they fall in love with each other when they are almost never together in the first half of the book. Too many predictabilities and just from reading the first you can pretty much figure out how the book ends. Plus a book 2.
I hate it when books end in a cliff hanger.. the story should wrap up but also leave you wanting more of their story.
Story was decent though predictable. Lagged for a bit and new drama was introduced like a soap opera.. started to pick up and bam, cliff hanger. Annoying.
Author seems young.. too much detail in some areas whereas other places it’s skimmed over. Also, some grammatical errors were spotted.
Wow, really don't get sucked in. The main character is so unlikeable and makes the worst choices. I was rolling my eyes constantly. Then to continue reading the story after the cliffhanger ending you have to go to Radish to unlock season 2 from 115 seasons with sooo many episodes each. This is never-ending and not the best plot.
Also apparently the Amazon version removed all the steamy parts that the Radish season 1 has.
This story starts off really well and then somewhere near the middle it starts to unravel. It gets bogged down and drawn out unnecessarily which is a shame as I really love the concept and the family dynamics. Although his mother is a piece of work. I’m hoping the next book puts it all to rights
Loved the book and would like to read the next but, not available on kindle. Directed to a website that is called Radish fiction. Says free but have to give credit card info. Not happy about any of this and will not add. Would love to continue reading but would not have started this good book if I had known this. So disappointed in Amazon and Kindle
Loved this story but very disappointed by the end..really you have to download Radish to read part 2 !!! Radish is horrible..you have to keep buying coins..are we on a kids site for gods sake ?? Put it for sale on Amazon like the first one..Come on Jamie get your stuff on amazon..you're to good for Radishes nonsense !!!
I’ll be honest just not my type of book so I stopped reading 60% thru. Heroine was just illogical at this point of the book - complete change- maybe it resolves itself but I value my time too much to hope it gets better plus when I realized there was yet a again a second book I just gave up.
This really sucks..unable to get book 2 NOt on Amazon..book is directing you to download Radish & continue reading but guess what, but book 2 not there, you have to pay to read chapters.. will not read from this author again..bad form to change reading formats from one book to next
The female lead of the story is extremely unlikable and she will make you roll your eyes a million times. Fair warning. Also there is nothing alpha about the male lead and that was disappointing to me. Read at your own risk…
The book is trash. What a waste of time. This shows the lack of self worth. And no respect for other people. Garbage. I will never read this author again. Garbage
