This book depicts the vulnerability of the author throughout her experiences navigating a conscious mind and relationship to her physical body since her earlier days. Cheryl De Guzman is a first time author and she shares moments in her life which have allowed her to appreciate her life, herself and those around her in a deeper way. She includes memories, heartfelt letters, and references in hopes to allow her readers to examine personal development within different arenas of health, self-image, relationships, health and more. While Cheryl openly shares moments that bring her both sadness and shame, but have been the pivotal points in her transformation for healing and growth. Becoming a Conscious Fitness Coach has become a journey beyond the four walls of the gym, or building a body in the kitchen, but an exploration of mind and body alike. Cheryl keeps it real. This book is a must read!
I think everyone could benefit from reading this book but I will be particularly recommending it to my younger female clients who will likely be able to relate to so many of Cheryl's experiences and the wisdom that has come from them. DO NOT skip the appendix as some of the best take aways from the book are stated there in clear direct language.
