Mine is ruining my life … making me bitter, callous, cold.
I’m Rye Rough -- the oldest of seven kids, with a family tree that built this town. I understand more than most that reputations matter.
Which is why I keep my mouth shut -- and that secret? I’m not telling a soul.
It’s clear it’s causing problems. Working as my dad’s right-hand man, I’m angrier than ever -- and hell, it’s messing with the family construction company.
My father forces a deal: Go to the rural family cabin and don’t come back until I get my head on straight or I lose my place in the business.
As if spending more time alone is going to solve anything.
One day into my retreat -- I find Prairie, a beautifully fragile woman who is lost, alone and in need of my tender loving care. Her life has been one of confinement and abuse.
She needs me like I’ve never been needed before.
My family doesn’t understand my love for her.
My secret keeps me up at night.
Something must give before it all breaks.
One thing is sure -- rough hands have been dealt for both Prairie and me … and for our love to survive we can’t fold.
Coming Home to the Mountain is a new filthy-sweet, high heat series by Frankie Love featuring rugged mountain men who fall hard, fast and forever. And with the women they love at their side, they choose to put family first.
In this series, Dad shows up, sisters remember to call, big brothers always look out for you, and Mom knows to keep an extra seat at the table for Sunday dinner. Not every family is perfect -- and the Rough family has its own set of problems -- but at the end of the day, they know what matters: Coming Home.
Frankie Love writes filthy-sweet stories about bad boys and mountain men. As a thirty-something mom to six who is ridiculously in love with her own bearded hottie, she believes in love-at-first-sight and happily-ever-afters. She also believes in the power of a quickie.
❤️ Get ready to fall in love ... you deserve it! ❤️
This is crazy over-the-top with Prairie having escaped captivity and falling head over heels for Rye hours later. While I take issue with the physical relationship starting as quickly as it did, I enjoyed the book. Ignoring the timeline was a must, though.
'I've known her for what? An hour, and already I know this woman is a woman I cannot live without.' -- Rye Rough
There are some funny and sweet parts that will have me coming back for more.

This was a gripping book for me. I love Rye and Prairie's story. Pye has a secret that has been eating at him for the last year and unfortunately, he is taking his pain out on everyone. Prairie has gone through so much in her young life and she is ready to be free and and with the man of dreams. Rye and Prairie are each other person and they know that just seconds after meeting. These two have a little bit of a bumpy road to their HEA but together these two can get through anything. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for Lemon's book next! I would recommend this book and Ms. Frankie as a must read author.

Sweet Instalove short story. Rye was adorable and broke my heart with what he went through. Prairie was sweet and she went through a lot but it didn’t seem to hold her back.
Safe Dual POV Virgin heroine no info on hero No ow/om drama Epilogue eh only 1 month out not much updates on the couple.
A very extra instalove story, with an over the top alpha and sweet resilient heroine. both with their own baggage. It's sweet and sexy, even if I didn't quite feel any emotional connection between these two (seriously, it's super instalove!).
Prairie never thought she would escape from her captors. Then she finally gets the chance and she runs and there is the big rough mountain man from her dreams. Is he really? Can he be who she has been waiting for? Rye is struck by the woman who runs out of the woods at him. The look in her eyes and the rags on her body tells him she needs help and he's going to do call he can to protect her.

Rye has really been struggling the last year. He had discovered that a close family friend had been stealing from the family business. When he talked to that friend to offer help in fixing the problem, the friend took off and ended dying in a car accident. Not wanting to destroy his families' memories of their friend, he has kept the secret to himself. The secret keeping is causing him a lot of stress and bitterness so he has become impossible to be around. He dad gives him an ultimatum. Her is to go to the remote family cabin and get his head straight and focused or he will no longer work in the family business. Annoyed Rye obeys his father but very soon after arrival, he gets a stranger visitor. A beautiful young woman is running through the woods, improperly dressed with no shoes. It is obvious that she has been through an ordeal. Rye is filled with protective feelings. He has gotten the focus his father wanted him to get and his focus is now her. He will do whatever it takes to make her his.
Prairie ran away from the group home as a teenager. She was picked by what she thought was a nice elderly couple. The couple brought her home and chained her up in their deceased daughter's room. She was expected to take the place of their girl. Prairie has been chained up for years. Then the old mother got ill. Her death really upset her husband and he dragged Prairie in to help. She tried to trick him and get away but he pulled his gun. Desperate and unsure how things would turn out after the death, Prairie fights for and gains control of his gun. Feeling that her only chance for freedom is now, she shoots her last captor and takes off running. Luckily she runs into Rye, a very kind and handsome man. Prairie feels a deep connection with him right away. She doesn't want him to leave her alone. I really enjoyed this book. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Remembering what it means to be alive Rough Deal is book two in the Coming Home to the Mountain series. This emotional and drama-filled book is about Rye and Prairie. Rye is the oldest of seven siblings living up on Rough Mountain at Home. He was happily working at his family’s business, but a year ago, a tragic event unfolded which has totally changed his disposition and attitude towards all areas of his life. Prairie aged out of the foster care system and was lured into a horrible situation where she was held against her will for four years! She manages to finally escape that traumatic situation, and runs into Rye (where he’s been sent by his father to clear his head), at the Rough Forest. They might just manage to save each other. This is an OTT but great instalove story about two people who have endured emotional turmoil, though very differently, that are drawn to each other in the most desperate but sweet way. The raw emotions they both have feel so real, and that vulnerability was really endearing. She quickly becomes the light in his dark, and he (and his huge family) provides her with more than she could ever imagine or hope for. I love the importance family plays with these characters (both Roughs and Rowdys), and the relationships they all have with each other. And I already can’t wait to read about Lemon’s love adventure in Rough Waters next! That sneak-peek has me almost panting with excitement and anticipation! I give this book four and a half stars. Yeah, didn't like this one, it was bad. Prairie has been living in captivity for 4 years. She escapes, finds Rye in a neighboring cabin, immediately decides she wants to have $ex with him after just meeting him. I'll give Rye credit, he doesn't go all the way at the cabin and puts a stop on it. But they do quite a bit more than what would even be remotely okay for someone who is still running on adrenaline after such a traumatic last 4 years. It just seemed very insensitive. They do however go all the way later that day after she's been cleared by the police and checked out at urgent care. They also profess their love that day, but had already started hinting at it within minutes of meeting each other. Again, over-the-top.
The most cringeworthy part for me was the dialogue during those intimate scenes. It was so juvenile and stilted. Maybe it was the narrator who made it seem like really bad actors were trying to fumble their way through what they thought someone should say when doing the deed. But it was eye roll worthy.
This was just a dud for me, but I'll keep reading the rest. I don't mind this author's insta-love novellas, but they at least need to be someone believable. So far it seems all the non-Rough characters in this series have the most dramatic history plucked out of a crime documentary.
This is book number 2 of the Coming Home to the Mountain series and focuses on Rye and Prairie. Rye has been unhappy for the last year because he was holding in a secret from his family and it was eating him up inside. He felt that he was protecting his family by keeping the secret, but all it was doing was making him miserable. When his dad sends him to the family cabin to get his head on straight, the last thing he expects to find when he gets there is his soulmate but that's exactly what he finds when he sees Prairie. Prairie had been kidnapped 4 years prior and held in captivity. When she finally made her escape, she runs straight towards her forever. They both know at first sight that they were soulmates even though no one understand how they feel right away. They fall for each other immediately and work on getting to know each other. I love that they never wavered in their love for each other even when people doubted their love was real. They were absolutely perfect for one another and helped heal each other in ways they didn't know they needed. This was an excellent addition to the series and I can't wait to see what te=he rest of the series brings.

This is the 2nd book in the Coming Home to the Mountain series featuring Rye and Prairie's emotional insta-love story. Rye is the oldest of the Rough siblings and he's been keeping a secret from his family to protect them. The problem is that it's eating at him causing a strain on his relationship with his family due to his anger. They get so fed up with his attitude that his dad sends him to the family cabin to think about things. On the day that he arrives he didn't expect to see a beautiful young woman come running out of the woods searching for help. Rye doesn't know anything about her except for the fact that she's his. Prairie has been traumatized she's been held captive by a couple who thought that she was their daughter who had died. She's been there 4yrs until she finally had a chance to escape and runs right into the handsome arms of Rye Rough. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this emotional insta-love story that tugs on your heartstrings to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book and I'm looking forward to the next book in this AMAZING series!!

Rough Deal, the second book in Frankie Love's Coming Home to the Mountain series, tells the story of the eldest Rough sibling, Rye. Having carried around a secret from his family for the past year, the Roughs get tired of Rye's surly attitude and his father suggests a few weeks at the family cabin in the mountains to get his head on straight. Prairie has spent the last four years held against her will - and her escape comes just as Rye arrives in the area. Despite the heightened, extenuating circumstances of their meeting, Rye and Prairie each fall instantly for one another. While Prairie may appear to be the one who needs saving, can she be the one to save Rye? Another fabulous, intense, steamy and swoon-worthy must-read by Ms Love.

An emotionally charged read. Rye has kept a secret from his family for the past year. He’s been angry at everyone and no one knows why. They send him to the family cabin to get his life figured out. Prairie has been through a horrific situation for the past four years. She’s finally free and running towards safety. From the moment Prairie and Rye see each other, they know they’ve met the one. Rye was a great son and big brother. Looking out for his family and taking on a burden that wasn’t his to take on. In Prairie he find the sunshine that clears the darkness that he’s endured for the past year. Prairie is strong and determined. She knows in her heart that Rye will keep her safe and loved and keep her light alive. An awesome story. Can’t wait for book 3 and Lemon’s story. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Rye Rough loves his family, but there’s a secret he has been keeping for over a year to protect them! Only it’s making him angry and his family is fed up with him so his dad sends him up to the family cabin! What he didn’t expect was to for beautiful Prairie to come running out of the woods looking for help! He doesn’t know much about her, but he knows she’s his! Prairie has been held captive for four years by a couple who think she’s their deceased daughter! When she finally gets a chance she escapes and ends up in gorgeous Rye Roughs arms! She falls for him and knows that they belong together! Can they find their happily ever after? Another great book in the series!

Rye has been keeping a secret from his family and his lack of talking about is straining his relationship with them. He is banished to the family cabin up the mountain by his father to get his head right. He is unpacking his truck with a woman comes running to him asking for help, he catches her as she faints. Prairie was abducted four years ago, by a husband and wife who lost their daughter, and kept her imprisoned. She see Rye as her knight in shining armor. Rye will do everything he can to protect her.
This is an insta-love story that is not all sunshine and rainbows, Rye still has the secret he is hiding and Prairie is dealing the trauma of being held captive for years.

Sweet read! Great characters that you fall in love with. I really liked how the author built up the relationship between the two main characters. The chemistry between the two main characters is steamy and intense. I loved the Happy ever after ending. I recommend this book and would read more books by this author. Enjoyable and worth the time. I really like the Rough family, but Rye's story was not my favorite. Prairie escapes from a dire situation, and Rye is running from his past. Instalove collides when they meet, and it's sweet, but they both have traumatic issues to deal with. I didn't feel like their connection was all that strong; they both say to each other that they'll be anything they want them to be, and I didn&'t feel like, with everything else going on, that made their connection strong. I think this story needed more time to allow both Prarie and Rye to work through their collective trauma. It was a sweet story, and then the ending was good; I just wanted more from it.

I've read a lot of books written by Frankie Love; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the second book in the Coming Home to the Mountain Series; it can be read as a stand-alone short story. The story is about Prairie & Rye; he’s the oldest of seven kids, he works in the family business; he’s having trouble dealing with a secret and it’s causing issues with his work so his dad tells her to go to the cabin and stay until he gets it worked out. The first day there he comes across Prairie; she’s lost, alone, has been abused and needs his help. He falls for her but his family doesn’t understand.

Rye is the eldest of the Rough siblings and for the last year he has held a secret from his family. That secret is tearing him apart and making him unbearable to live with, so his father sends him to the family cabin to clear his head. Prairie has been the victim of a deranged couple who think she is their dead daughter. When the woman dies suddenly, Prairie sees her opportunity to escape and while fighting the man, accidentally kills him. She runs and ends up at the Rough cabin and Rye. These characters are super well written, compelling storyline, sizzling chemistry, a lot of steam, and a thoroughly enjoyable read. Great series and I can't wait for the next book!!

Rye and Prairie meet up at a mountain cabin, both surviving traumatic situations that change their lives. She just escaped four years of captivity and he is keeping an event away from his family, but it slowly killing him. The two start to heal each other and the bond is so strong and protective. The characters are terrific, with great backstories and intense feelings. The storyline has drama, secrets, revelations, police, therapists, weddings, close family and friends and so much more. Loved their chemistry, how she dreamed of him just the way she found him, and how he would do and be anything for her. Wonderful romance with a splash of suspense. Well done again.. Whilst up in the cabin prairie literally falls into his arms. She has been through huge trauma and Rye is ready to rescue and save her. This book takes you on a full roller coaster ride of emotions. It has some hot and steamy scenes and was an addictive read that I couldn’t put down. It is not a long story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

For the past year Rye has been trying to protect his family from information only he knows and it is affecting his relationship with his family and the people he works with. They have convinced him some time alone in the mountains is what he wants until Prairie comes crashing into his life.
Prairie has escaped a situation no one should have to endure and found her way to Rye. There is no denying the chemistry and connection between them but are either of them at a position in their lives where they are ready for the love and relationship they both want?
Hot chemistry and all the feels as Prairie and Rye must deal with their past if they are to have a future together.
Rye has a secret that is tearing him and his relationship with his family apart so he's sent to the mountain cabin to get straight. Prairie has her own family problem she's dealing with and running into Rye her life changes forever. I loved how protective Rye was over Prairie. Rough Deal is book two and a great addition to the Coming Home to the Mountains series. The writing is well done, the characters are well developed, and this page turning story held my attention from the first page until the last. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. This is the second book in the Coming Home to the Mountain series. It can be read as a standalone but this series is about the Rough family. If you like over the top, steamy instalove books this one is for you. I love Rye and Prairie's story. Rye is sent to the family cabin to get away and clear his head. He's been angry for a long time but they don’t know the secret he's been keeping from them. Prairie is running from something horrible. Rye immediately goes into protector mode. They're good for each other but will Rye's story tear them apart?

This one hit me right in the heart. She has had a beyond tragic 4 years and his heart as been burdened with a terrible secret for a year. Standalone with no Cliffhangers. Rye has a secret that is slowly killing his heart and turning his family against him. They finally send him away to the family cabin to clear his head. He finds so much more. Prairie has been trapped and is finally free. She finds her dream man and he saves her, but is it real? Lots of strong emotion and family tragedy along with great insta-love and bedroom heat. A great sweet and sexy story! Rye is the eldest of the Rough family. He’s been keeping a secret from his family that’s made him unbearable. He gets sent to solitude in the mountains to find himself. There he finds Prairie, who’s been in captivity by a married couple. Rye immediately wants to protect her and make her his own. Amazing characters, amazing chemistry, drama, secrets, stress, sweetness, sexiness, love, and a HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love how this romance plays out. Prairie is the one who escapes from an unimaginable situation only to come across Rye, who she immediately recognizes from her dreams. As their eyes connect, Rye acknowledges she is his soulmate. It is a tender story where two people just know "the one" when they meet. Prairie is safe and secure with Rye and Rye admits, he was rescued by Prairie's love and faith. They are fierce and in love and nothing will stop them from a future together.
