Forget Prince Charming. I want my hero in plaid.

I’ve always loved Beauty and the Beast.

Maybe that’s why I’m so drawn to my new boss, Remington.

He has the scars left over from a bad rodeo accident and the same bear with a thorn in his paw attitude.

As I clean his home and help him out around the house, my attraction for him only grows. Sure, he answers most questions in grunts or disgruntled looks, but something about that calls to me.

We both finally give into our attraction one hot summer night and then I’m headed back to Sequoia University for my last year of college.

I can’t stop thinking about my scarred hero though.

Not every romance is a fairy tale but I’m determined to make what I have with Remington mine.

Now I just need to get him on the same page.

I believe this is the last brothers book and this one was more emotional for me then the others.
Gwen and Remy have been playing the push/pull game or pinning for the last 3 months and it’s making Gwen heartbreak thinking this man doesn’t have any love for her she’s been bring up convo, trying to get a feel and nothing, time is running out between them and when Gwen throws herself at Remy again he turns her down only because she’s drunk. But for her she thinks he doesn’t want her. But he tells her the next day he does so they finally take that step.

But more miscommunication happen between them and Remy pushing away Gwen again both are going though the pain of heartbreak. Until another one night between them and another miscommunication plays. This part was annoying to me instead of talking both just assumed the other didn’t want the other
Until they both had to sit down and talk for them to have there hea.

*spoilers* Gwen works for Remington, the broody Ford Brother. She had feelings for her gentle beasts as soon as he opened the door for her. They are opposites in so many ways, she is bubbly and outgoing and He never smiles and rarely talks. She loves Beauty and the beast and there are many resemblings. He also lost his heart when meeting her, but he was badly injured and does Not only have scars on the outside but was told that he is infertile. He knows she is fond of kids, leaving after the summer for college to study to become a kindergarten teacher. Also he tries to stay away, his need and love for her wins, but then they hurt each other by miscommunication.
I adore Shaw Hart's stories. I devoured this story. The way they think about each other and admire the other, it is adoreable. The way he describes her eyes and loving heart. How she Just wants to make him smile. And then it gets steamy and what they both can not communicate, both being each others first and Not having the experience and assumpting the wrong thing, their bodies connect and know how they feel about each other. We also meet so many characters from other stories, brings more depth for me and love to meet them again. Loved the end.

3.4 stars.
The communication in this book was atrociously lacking. But. I still really enjoyed the innocence and sweetness of both characters.
It was short and sweet.
Both characters were virgins.
The pining was for real in this.

I wish there hadn’t been so many misunderstandings, but I totally got that Remy had no clue how to deal with anything and his girl was just as clueless.

God this was bad…

- spineless heroine
- boring hero, who goes from virgin to making her have orgasm after orgasm the first time they have sex…seriously, at one point as soon as he enters her she instantly orgasms. Hahaha
- the sex was so poorly done. She’s constantly dripping wet (GET A DOCTOR!), and having orgasm upon orgasm upon orgasm. He knows how to find her g-spot the second time they have sex…even though he’s never been with a woman before. So he just knew? With no communication?
- speaking of communication, there is none. This whole book is miscommunication.
- my favourite…he’s infertile…but not really!! She gets pregnant with twins (!!) the first time they have sex even though he was told he can’t have kids. Hallelujah what a miracle!! Super sperm to the rescue!!
- My favourite line, and there were many “feeling her cunt snap around me again and again”. Is she a venus fly trap? Do vaginas snap closed? Who wrote this?

I need to go re-read an old favourite to erase this from my mind.

Beauty and the beast is my all time favorite fairy tale so I’m always excited to read romances that take a swing at that type of romance. I would say “Spurred” did a fantastic job capturing the essence of the differences between the characters and how it brings them together. This book adds to the story with Cowboy and Boss tropes as added bonuses to this steamy romance. You will LOVE Remy and Gwen! I know that I did!

Remy is our Beast, with damage and scarring from a bull riding accident, he’s closed himself off from the world. He doesn’t know how to love or how to be loved. Gwen is a summer hire as his cook and housekeeper. She’s instantly drawn to the man who is usually ignored and avoided. She wants to bring a smile to his face and joy to his world. These two struggle to get their feelings across and when things do take a personal and intimate turn, Remy more often than not doesn’t respond correctly and makes a mess of things.

My absolute favorite quote from the book was “I know every time she’s staring at me, because I’m always watching her.” This perfectly sums up how these two move around each other. They aren’t sure how the other one feels but they can’t keep their eyes from drinking each other in. It probably doesn’t help that Remy tends to wear a scowl that does little to convey his true feelings for her. She’s an conundrum for him. Obviously interested in him, but he can’t imagine why. And though he has deep feelings for her, he doesn’t want to saddle her with a man that’s broken. You will absolutely love the progression of this story and the ending was beautiful perfection!

I’ve never thought I write this but I hated one book from these authors, actually, it’s a mess…
H is soooo weak
h is a doormat
I can’t understand how after you lost your virginity to a guy who the next morning is waiting with your suitcases at the door and saying Good luck, literally, you still wanted to have sex with him the minute you see him again?!!!?? Of course H never called
Of course, after that, h goes to find him after TWO WEEKS of radio silence
Really???
I like my heroines more pissed about an idiot, or at least a little , but I don’t like tooooo much understanding girls who forgives so easily, sorry but no no no!
No grovel, not an alpha H , no nothing, such a disappointment, sorry

2 stars bcs the sex scenes are always good but I skimmed the last two, I was so pissed…

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Remy and Gwen met when she goes to work for him as his housekeeper over the summer. Gwen tries to talk to Remy but he always gives her one word answers, for the whole summer Gwen tries to get him to open up to her but he doesn't. Remy has been in love with Gwen since she showed up on his doorstep. Remy's brothers try to get him to asks Gwen out, they see how he stares at her. One night they all head to the bar, Gwen gets a little tipsy, when Remy takes her back home she tires to have sex with him. Remy doesn't want Gwen to be drunk when he takes her, it'll be both their first time. The next day Gwen gets his breakfast ready but isn't there when he comes in. For lunch she does the same thing, she has it ready for him but leaves. When he comes in for dinner she's making his food Remy asks her if she's hungover. She tells him no, then Remy starts to talk to her about last night and she tells him they don't need to talk about it. When Remy want to talk to her about it, she tells him she doesn't want to any more rejection. Remy tells her he was just looking out for her, but she tells him she understand she was drunk or tipsy. Remy tells her she's not drunk or tipsy now. Then he asks her if she still wants him. Gwen tells him she wasn't lying last night she wants him. They begin kissing, then he pleasures her and they make love. When Gwen wakes the next morning Remy is gone, but today is her last day Stud Farm. Gwen has all her things packed, when she finds Remy he asks her if she all set. Gwen takes her things to her car and climbs inside hoping Remy will say something to her. Gwen drives away with her heart broken, when she gets to her apartment she goes to her room and cries. Three days later, and Remy is feeling lonely without Gwen. Remy head to his brother Griz house he know that Monty and Gwen are friends. Remy tries to see if Monty knows how Gwen is doing, but she's busy. Gwen's friends, Monty and Malia take her out to the bar. While Gwen is there, Remy comes but doesn't say much to her. When Gwen leaves to use the restroom Remy's brother Wyatt tells him to go after her. Remy finds Gwen coming out of the restroom, when he looks inside he does't see anyone. Remy gets Gwen to go back into the restroom, he tells her he missed her. Remy asks her how her classes are going. When Remy tells Gwen to come he they begin kissing, then he's pleasuring her, then they make out. When Malia comes knocking on the door to see if Gwen is inside Gwen answers her. Gwen puts her finger on Remy's lips to shush him, then Gwen walks out the door. Two weeks later, Gwen comes home from school exhausted she heads up to her room, but her roommate, Malia is fixing something, when Gwen gets a whiff of it she feels nauseous and head to the bathroom. Gwen's roommate tells her to go lay down, and puts a movie on for her. Gwen keeps thinking about Remy, and she soon realizes she needs to talk to him. Gwen heads to Remy's house, he answers the door and steps aside for her to come in. Gwen realizes he's watching her favorite movie. Gwen tells him she didn't think he was that guy who slept with a girl and then doesn't call. Remy tells her she could have reached out to him, but she tells him she wanted him to show her he wanted her. Gwen tells him she threw herself at him and made it clear she wanted him. Gwen tells him she gave her virginity to him but then Remy admits he gave his to her. Gwen asks him how would she know he doesn't talk to her. Remy tells her he wants to fix that, and tells her that that night meant everything to him. He tells her the next morning she was packed and ready to go before he could talk to her. Gwen tells him she woke up alone, Remy tells her because he was making her breakfast. Remy tells her he loves her, and Gwen tells him she loves him too. Remy tells her he didn't think she would want a grumpy loner like him, and he knows she wants a family and he can't give it to her. Gwen asked him what does that mean, he tells her because of the bull riding accident he's infertile. Gwen tells him there are other ways to fill their lives with kids. Remy tells her he wants everything with her but doesn't want to be selfish. Glenn tells him she loves him, and has since the start of the summer. They begin kissing and Remy carries her to his bedroom where he pleasures her and they make love. A few weeks later, after a friend comes to visit Gwen has a surprise for Remy. Gwen motions for Remy to sit on the bed and she places his hand over her stomach. She tells him to guess what's in here, she tells him she's pregnant. Gwen knows she finally got her a fairytale ending. Five years later, Remy and Gwen were married a month after they first met. They have a set of twins one boy and one girl. Gwen finished her degree and will soon be teaching at the local school. Remy is a lucky man he doesn't know how he got someone as perfect as Gwen but he thanks his lucky stars every day. Gwen's the best thing that ever happened to him she made his house a home and brought sunshine and happiness into his dull bleak life. Remy doesn't know what his life would have been like if Gwen hadn't applied to work for him and lucky for him he'll never have to.

Heat Level off the charts🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I bought the book after I read through KU. This book has some scorching scenes and if you don’t like that then bypass this book or skip them. I was actually surprised that pretty much all the smexy scenes were HOT. If the book was to be rated by those scenes alone it would be 5 🌟. The reason for 4 ⭐️ is I feel Remy should’ve put himself out there for her emotionally and no idea why he would be a virgin. He is older and not sure why he just couldn’t have slept with someone in a long time. The last couple of books I read have had dual virgins or actually one of them the guy was a Virgin and the girl was not. These books have been by different authors. I’m not sure why a 30 yo male Virgin is considered sexy. He doesn’t have to be a Dog, heck can be selective and haven’t slept with someone in awhile.
I would have liked the book more if it didn’t always have to be her that put herself out there. She pretty much initiated everything feeling wise. She seemed to be the only one fighting for them. I actually got aggravated with her for being an almost door mat. Their communication skills were non existent and his were very stunted for the majority of the book. We know what is going on in his head but she didn’t and she still was the one that kept putting herself out there.
I did buy this book and I will read it again if only for the hot scenes, lol.

This is book number 4 of the Sequoia: Stud Farm series and focuses on Remington (Remy) and Gwen. Gwen fell for Remy as soon as she started working for him as his housekeeper and cook but for 3 months has thought that he didn’t like her because he actively avoids her and makes little effort to communicate with her. What she doesn’t know is that Remy has loved her since he first opened the door and saw her face the first time. He actively keeps her at arms length because he doesn’t think he can give her the life she wants after a bull riding accident left him with more than a few scars and an inability to have kids. They have a lot of communication issues to work through but once they finally lay all of their cards on the table and stop fighting their connection, they end up getting everything they ever wanted. This was a great story and a great addition to the series!

I absolutely loved Spurred: Book 4 of Sequoia: Stud Farm. Remy is closed off after a almost fatal accident. Gwen is hired to be his cook for the summer. The chemistry is undeniable but Remy thinks he would be holding Gwen back from the house full of children she wants. So he resists, until he can’t any longer. Neither of them are good with communicating and inadvertently push each other away and they are miserable. One of them needs to step up and have a hard conversation. Will they be able to work things out? Such a great storyline and lovable characters. I now have to go back and read the first 3 books. I would definitely recommend this book and I’m looking forward to more in the series.

Crushes hurt, if they didn't, they would call them something else, to quote Sixteen Candles. Gwen has crushed on her boss, Remy from the moment they met. He barely talks to her, grunting his go to form of communication. He carries the scars from a run in with a huge bull when he worked the rodeo and he uses that as an excuse to keep to himself. Her time as his housekeeper, the summer break from college, is almost done. Things get complicated when he sleeps with her the night before she leaves. Miscommunications abound and it will take a miracle to bring them back together. Oh my stomach was in knots, I felt for both of them so much! My heart soared when they finally came together, it was beautiful!

Spurred is the fourth novel in Shaw Hart and Cameron Hart's most recent collaboration, the Sequoia: Stud Farm series. Although completely enjoyable as a standalone, if you have been following the series as I have, Remmington and Gwen's story has been long-anticipated. The young, bubbly teacher's college student and the growly ex-rodeo star now horse farmer are absolutely perfect for one another. Yet both excel in failing to communicate and constantly get in one's own way. The slow burn of Remy and Gwen's romance is hot enough to melt your Kindle and makes this story an entertaining, absolute must-read.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. It is, however, best enjoyed when the series is read in order. From the moment Remy opened the door to Gwen, both of them have a fascination with each other. They are total opposites though - Gwen is bright and cheerful and has repeatably tried to engage ina simple conversation or a sile from him. Remy is a gruff man who is broken - at least he feels broken. He tries to stay away from her but can’t .I have loved this series! These writers are incredible together.

Spurred is the 4th book in the Sequoia Stud Farm series by Cameron Hart & Shaw Hart. The series follows the Ford brothers as they find their forever loves well working their families ranch. This is Remington & Gwen’s story. Definitely a grumpy/sunshine , instalove, cowboy romance. Love these books because they are such sweet, easy reads. But don’t worry you are definitely getting heat 🌶 or as I like to call it sweetheat. Ive always liked a Cameron Hart book as a perfect in between especially if I’ve just read something super dark. No cliffhanger always a HEA. Definite recommend for me. As always make sure your comfortable with what your reading. Happy Reading Book Besties 💙

It's hard not to fall for the broken hero in the story and Remy fits the bill!

Remy and Gwen both feel this pull towards each other but he tries to stay away from Gwen since he doesn't think that he's good enough for anyone, especially Gwen.

Finally the two of them cannot deny their feelings for the other anymore and the chemistry and connection between them kicks up.

This is a wild ride with a few misunderstandings but in the end these two get their HEA.

This is the fourth book in the series but can be read as a standalone.

I was captivated from the beginning and really liked this story!

Gwen is working for Remy as his housekeeper and finds looking at him unavoidable due to her attraction to him. He is scarred from his bull riding days which left him severely injured and infertile. Remy is distant and determined to avoid and ignore his covert love for her. Gwen is studying to be a teacher and loves children. After a drunken night, Gwen gets her wish, but then it all goes badly. How can Remy get this so wrong and leave them both bereft? Fortunately it eventually turns out to be so right
Love this series.

Lovely story!

A tender, heartwarming romance, with some laugh out loud moments and sweet interaction. For a short story it had a little too much repetitive steam for my taste, which didn’t detract from the story because I was able to skim through. Gwen and Remy are an adorable couple - she is bubbly and talkative, he is taciturn and reticent but they had a connection and it was lovely that Gwen’s mission was to try and make Remy smile. It’s the first time I’ve read a Shaw Hart book and thoroughly enjoyed this novella - I will definitely be looking out for more by this writer.

Gwen has been working for Remy as his housekeeper. She’s been lusting after him since the moment she saw him but he’s broody and grumpy and doesn’t believe that he could ever give Gwen the HEA she deserves. After he finally gives in to his desires wires get crossed. Will they ever open up and communicate or will they go on believing things s out the other that aren’t true? This is a fantastic book. Love all the brothers of the Stud Ranch!.

WOW! I knew he was hiding some pretty serious scars, but my goodness, poor Remy. Gwen was so in love with him and he just couldn't get out of his head long enough to let her love him just the way he was. Remy is the sweetest, most gentle and loving man and Gwen absolutely adored him. She wanted nothing more than to see him smile and laugh. These two just stole my heart. I loved their story and that ending.. oh my heart! Loved it!.

This was a great book. I loved the connection and chemistry between Remy and Gwen but these two have some series communication issues to work through. Remy doesn't think that he can be the man that Gwen deserves while Gwen has been in love with Remy but believes that he hates her. There is a lot of steam but also some drama that keeps you hooked too. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see what these awesome authors have in store for us next.

Spurred is the fourth book in the series and is Remy and Gwen's tale.

Gwen is working for Remy over the summer as his cook/ housekeeper. The moment she saw him, her heart was his. Remy was a professional bull rider, after the accident he has kept to himself. But there is something about Gwen that makes his heart race.

This is a great addition to the series, and I love the push/pull between Remy and Gwen. The chemistry is electric, and the passion will have you melting in your seat.

Awwwww! 🥰❤🤗

This is my favorite book of the series! Cameron and Shaw have done an excellent job with this read. Gwen and Remington are so cute together, even though they definitely need to work on their communication skills. When Gwen misunderstands Remington's actions and thinks that he doesn't want her and the devastation she feels is heartbreaking. 🥺 I'm so happy they both decided to lay their feelings on the line and admit to each other how they really feel so they can get their HEA.

Remington & Gwen finally got their story and HEA! I had been waiting for Remy to get his turn at love like his brothers, and he gets that and more.

The characters were great, but I felt the miscommunication between the two took up quite a bit of the story. It would have been great if Remy was even more of a grumpy beast, but we quickly bypassed the scarred situation and I feel like the weeks they didn’t speak to each other was a lot when I just needed them to to give us more of them together. Spurred was still very enjoyable but Remy and Gwen just needed a little more time in this book.

This is a cute story featuring Remy and Gwen, two virgins on their path to fall in love. Gewn is the one chasing after Remy - so that's a nice change - and he has his reasons to turn her down... until he doesn't. It's a short novella, so the perfect kind for when you don't have much time on your hands and just want to grab something fun to read. A great addition to the Sequoia Stud Farm series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC copy of this book that I was lucky enough to receive from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Gwen is the cure for Remington's grumpiness. She's cheerful; since she arrived at Remmington's house for work, she's been trying to get a smile out of him. But he doesn't think he's enough for Gwen after an accident. After many misunderstandings, Remy and Gwen surrendered to their love and their happy ending as in Beauty and the Beast.

I love this series. Once you start reading Spurred you are hooked. Remington and Gwen’s chemistry burns off of the pages. They touched my heart in so many ways. This series makes you want to find your own HEA with a 🔥Cowboy. There is fiery passion, excitement, tears, love that melt your heart. I cannot recommend or say enough about this, except you will not want this to end, and will crave more. A must, must, addictive, captivating, sensational and spectacular read.

This was about Gwen & Remy.
They had communication problem the entire summer.
The night before Gwen before is set to move back to the college, they finally admit how they feel.
But lack of communication comes back to play and makes matters worse.
Is there any chance of HEA for them?
Good book in this series.
