He’s her sister’s ex—which means he’s strictly off limits. So why can’t she get him off her mind?
Shane Brody is dealing with a lot: his family’s new medical practice, his recent breakup, and a tragedy in his past that he’s sure was his fault. He’s not good for any woman, but Lily Hart just doesn’t seem to know when to stay away.
Lily saw firsthand the pain Shane caused her sister. All she wants is to interview him and his brothers for her Cambria newsletter, write an article about Bridge Street Wellness, and forget he ever existed. But something about him makes her want to get to the bottom of more than just his contribution to local health care.
The more she learns, the stronger her feelings for Shane grow—until she’s forced to choose between love and family loyalty.
Heal Me is the first book in The Bridge Street MDs series of small-town medical romances.

A hard hitting, hard loving book. Shane thinks he's unlovable, lily is unsure if anyone can love her. Then the unthinkable happens, she meets her perfect match, Shane, her sisters ex boyfriend. But to throw a wrench in it twice, she's his brothers ex girlfriend. And the revelations keep coning.
"Heal Me" is the first book in Ms. Seed's “The Bridge Street” MD's series of a small-town medical practice. If this is the first book in the series I can't wait to read the next one. Heal Me is an emotional story with more twists and turns than a Coney Island roller coaster ride. Shane Brody is a man with a tragic past which is preventing him from truly living his life to its fullest. The book begins with Shane and his girlfriend Brittany Hart, breaking up because of his extreme moodiness and lack of candor as to why he is so down. Brittany's sister Lily is extremely attracted to Shane but she is very loyal to her sister and refuses to acknowledge her feelings for him. So instead she dates Shane's brother Finn. Unfortunately, Shane is also attracted to Lilly, and though neither of them will violate the Sister Code or the Brother Code they simply can not hide their chemistry from their siblings. How these two-star cross lovers solve their issues makes for a rather emotional story that is more than worth reading.
I received this ARC and am voluntarily giving my own balanced review of this book.
This book jumps off the page with exciting characters right from the start with star crossed soulmates. Shane Brody has a secret that only his family knows and every year this secret causes him to get in a very bad mood that effects any relationship that he is in. Brody is drawn to Lily, his ex-girlfriend’s sister, and Lily is drawn to him too. The chemistry between them is so hot, but is it hotter than the fact that he was dating her sister who just broke up with him?
Picked up this freebie only because I liked the inherent conflict of falling for your sister's ex - so few romance authors will touch that one. ALAS, apparently this author won't either, because it's pretty clear even within the first 10% that Lily's sister Brittany is not that broken up about the end of her relationship with Shane, leaving the pathway clear for Lily. Once that was established my interest fatally waned.
Also: this is the intro book to a series about five doctor brothers, and they are all introduced at the start of the book and I can't really tell them apart. Feels like the author is trying to do too much right out the gate.
This might be good for folks who like low-conflict, feel-good romances, but it's not for me. Abandoned at 13%.
Here’s what happens when you read a series by Linda Seed (Main Street Merchants, The Delaneys of Cambria, The Russo Sisters, or Otter Bluff): You’ll get hooked from the first paragraph of the first book, and will eagerly wait for the rest of the series. The characters are so true to life that you can’t wait to hang out with them again. That’s definitely the case with the newest series, The Bridge Street MDs, and the first installment, Heal Me, which focuses on the first of five Brody MD siblings, Shane Brody. Most of the time Dr. Brody is kind, compassionate, competent, and charming, but he’s also carrying a dark secret that not only makes him miserable but also sabotages his relationships because he cannot share that secret with whoever he’s dating. Enter Lily Hart. What I have also always loved about Ms. Seed’s books are her strong women characters, and Lily Hart is the newest one to join that group. She is smart, witty, feisty, and determined. Despite losing her job as a reporter at a San Diego newspaper, she picked herself up and moved to Cambria to live with her sister, Brittany. She has cobbled together a new career as a copy editor, novelist, and editor of a new Cambria newsletter. Although Brittany had just broken up with Shane, one of Lily’s first articles features the new Bridge Street Wellness clinic, the practice established by the five Brody doctors. There is one area where Lily falters, and that’s when she’s around men she’s attracted to—the self-confident dynamo stumbles and fumbles. So, having been burned before, she sticks to dating men who are nice, but the chemistry is lacking. However, the chemistry is in full-force with Shane. Without giving away any spoilers, what I found so interesting is how Lily, Shane, Brittany, and Finn Brody (who dates Lily) navigate the family relationships while on the path to love. Those relationships, whether between sisters or among brothers, are very realistic, with popping dialog that is Ms. Seed’s specialty. I loved the interactions between all the siblings. Last, all of Ms. Seed’s books take place in Cambria, a beautiful small town on the California Central Coast. For anyone who’s read some of her other books, it’s fun to see “cameos” of past characters, as well as mentions of local restaurants (yes, there really is a Linn’s Easy as Pie Café) and natural wonders like Moonstone Beach and Fiscalini Ranch. The Central Coast is my favorite place on Earth, and it’s great to take a trip there thanks to Ms. Seed’s wonderful books. I’m already counting the days until Book Two of the Bridge Street MDs comes out!
Shane was frustrating with his inability to allow himself to open up about his twin sister’s death. I understand it was due to his lack of attention whilst driving but he was young, his family forgave him and actively supported him throughout 18yrs of grieving.
Lily was a sweetheart and her angst over wanting and being with her sister’s ex was painful. Granted her sister and Shane didn’t love each other, nor did either want to have a long term relationship with each other…they were just going through the motions and only dated for a short period.
Brittany, Lily’s sister was outraged for too long. Especially after she did the same things with Lily’s high school boyfriend and not tell her until now. At least there was deep affection between Lily and Shane.
The Brody brothers are interesting. We didn’t get a lot of some of them but we got to know Finn when he dated Lily briefly. As a psychologist, he would have seen that his brother had an emotional and physical attraction and connection to Lily but he dated her anyway and got angry when it didn’t work out because of the aforementioned attraction between the main characters. Rowan, the philandering brother was funny and embarrassing. His story looks to be next and I’m intrigued.

Lily is trying to start over, she's moved in with her sister and trying to find the right balance with work and life in general. Her sister breaks up with her boyfriend Shane because he's got a secret he can't let her in on and she's just done with it all. Lily realizes she's suppose to be doing an interview with him and wonders if she's being disloyal to her sister. She typically has a problem around attractive men but when she interviews Shane's brother Finn, she's fine but Shane makes her heart race and she can't form real sentences. Finn asks her out and she starts dating him but the chemistry isn't there and she's distracted every time Shane is around. Then she get hurt and Shane helps her and they're both drawn to each other but there's a problem....the sibling code and Shane's dark secret. With Lily's help he wants to be better because he cares so much and decides he's ready to move on but will the siblings pose an issue??? Love Ms. Seed's characters and stories, can't wait for the next one is this series! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I love all the new story lines that Linda comes up with. This new series (The Bridge Street MDs) is an interesting concept with a very lovable group of siblings (all doctors) that have opened a medical facility in Cambria, a town that I've come to love through her other series, that caters to patients without insurance or lower income that they treat pro bono. This, alone, makes my heart happy, and I enjoy it even more when I get into the book and just can't pull myself away because the storyline itself is so interesting.
Shane and Lily's story is an emotional up and down as Shane has tons of guilt from a childhood tragedy and Lily's inability to keep from digging into his past comes from her training as a journalist. I love the way the author keeps pulling back the layers of Shane and Lily's pasts and melds everything together, with the help of both of their families.
I can't wait to read more stories in this series! Little bits and pieces from some of her other stories have a chance to peek through in this story, also. So fun!
Cambria is home to the Bridge Street MDs. The concierge medical pratice doesn't take insurance, only cash. This allows the brothers to give free /pro bono coverage to patients in need. The Brody brothers have didn't specialities.
Book I features Shane Brody, Brittiany Hart, and her sister Lily. Brittiany finally gives up trying to figure out why she and Shane haven't gone beyond friendship. She's fed up and dumps him. Granted Shane is brooding and not sharing "whatever" is bothering him. He's never had a long term relationship because he feels unloveable.
Enter Lily Hart parttime journalist that has an appointment to interview the brothers about their practice. Lily has always been uncomfortable/nervous when around men she's attracked to. Of cource Shane is her trigger.
Sister code rules. Lily needs to be loyal, right? Will she be able to solve Shane's issue? Will Brittiany and Lily be talking to each other down this slippery road of romance?
This is the first book in the Bride Street MD series by Linda Seed. Shane Brody is a doctor with a troubled past, who is trying to rebuild his life after a painful breakup and a tragedy he blames himself for. Lily Hart is a local journalist in Cambria who wants nothing to do with Shane because he was her sister Brittany’s ex. When Lily interviews Shane and his four brothers for a feature on their new medical practice, Bridge Street Wellness, their chemistry starts to spark. As Lily uncovers more about Shane’s past and his quiet strength, she’s torn between family loyalty and unexpected feelings. This touching small-town romance offers a soulful blend of emotional depth, tangled family dynamics, and forbidden attraction, all wrapped in a subtle layer of medical intrigue. The characters navigate heartache and hope with sincerity, making the journey toward healing and love both believable and deeply moving. This is a powerful read that lingers long after the final page.

I love when Linda Seed releases a new book because I get to visit Cambria again. “Heal Me” is the first book in the Bridge Street MDs series and the story of Shane and Lily. It will grab you from the beginning. Shane has some issues that really need to be resolved before he can have a normal long-lasting relationship. Luckily, he has his brothers to turn to for help, even though it takes him a long time to go there. Lily also has a sister to turn to – after they work through the fact that Lily wants to date Brittany’s ex. Lilly is my favorite character (with Brittany a close second) because she will not give up on Shane. He tries to push her away and she will not go. This story will touch you and make you laugh. Actually, I laughed out loud at the ending to the point my husband asked what was so funny. I can’t wait to read about the rest of the brothers!
Set in the same town of Cambria as her previous four series, Heal Me focuses on the new medical practice in town and the five brothers who own it. Shane Brody is self-aware enough to know that he sabotages all of his relationships but refuses to do anything about it. Lily chooses men that are “safe” because she had a bad experience with an ex–until she has a chance with Shane, who just happens to be her sister’s recent ex boyfriend. Shane and Lily are the kind of characters that you want to simultaneously yell at for being stupid AND hug them for their reasons why they are being stupid. In the end, it all works out and I can’t wait to read the rest of the Brody brothers’ stories. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Heal Me ~The Bridge Street MDs #1 by Linda Seed I have been following Linda for a while now and I totally love her books. Heal Me is the first in a new series and boy what a fantastic start. Heal Me is an adorable story and is truly worth reading, with a good storyline and great characters giving you the connection to them all. This is another winner by Linda! There’s nothing more satisfying than reading a book that is well-written. I also like that she brings real and difficult life situations into her stories. I highly recommend this book, and I'm also looking forward to reading the rest in the series. Thank you, Linda, for yet another excellent story.
"Heal Me" is the first book in a great new series by Linda Seed. Shane Brody was involved in a tragic accident when he was young and it still haunts him in his everyday life. For the past eighteen years he feel unworthy of happiness and love therefore he sabotage every relationship he's been in. Shane has feelings for his ex-girlfriend sister Lily. He knows he can't pursuit this as Lily is also he's brother ex-girlfriend. You know the bro code and all. Both Lily and Shane can't seem to fight the chemistry. Can Shane forgive himself of past mistakes and find love with Lily? Please read a book worth reading to find out.
I found this story to be entertaining and absorbing, but a little too much. As a sister with brothers, I seriously question if any brother, and I am talking of a qualified doctor here, would retreat every year for eighteen years, because of something that happened when he was a teenager. Admittedly it was a very serious matter, but I can't see a professional man hiding, not showering or shaving, or functioning normally, punishing himself indefinitely. However, it made for a good story, which I enjoyed. I also question people sleeping together for some time, who are confused about the status of their relationship. It seems there is a serious lack of moral compass.
Only 3 stars because although I liked the main characters, there were some major irritants for me. MMC really needed to get his enlightenment about halfway through the story. MFC's sister was annoying and MMC's brother Finn was kind of petulant over something stupid. And the book seemed to go on and on.
But, I liked the chemistry between the characters, there IS A HAPPY ENDING (although it took sooooo long to get there). Standalone, part of a series.
new to Linda's writing. i found it was free thanks to Bookbub ... medical fiction. contemporary romance. out on February 14, 2022. i will read more from this series and this author. check it out. it will pull on your heart string for sure. i enjoy that, that i wanna cry but being emotional at times in daily life is normal ... makes you a person ... good read.
I could shake Shane and Lily sometimes just to get them out if their past interfering with their relationship in the present. You'll laugh at times, cry at times and go through the emotions of this family and the relationship s between brothers and girlfriends and sister. Great read.
This was a great contemporary romance for one of the five brothers. But he had a lot of issues because of the death if his twin. This was a well written story with a lot of complications but mostly live. A good read.
Shane and Lily don’t have an easy go of it. From the beginning, a secretive, rocky start, to the unexpected yet very welcome end. This book gets bonus marks from readers that have suffered loss. It’s a great romance with closure.
I loved this book. I laughed and I cried. The hero was hurting in such a big way, but when he found his one and only he had to see the light. There were some places where there were too many words. But, it was a great love story. 🤗
Absolutely brilliant book couldn't put it down superb well written and a great cast of characters and story line absolutely loved it I can't wait to read more about this family
The start of this book is soooooo sloooowwwwwww And after “reading” 30 pages I realised I skipped 20 pages. And because of that I stopped caring and reading
