I have not read all of the stories in this series but the few that I have read have left me wanting more. This book is about Hugh 'Lord Steamy' and Avery, a consultant to help him make his name and company look better after he ruined it all by having an affair with a Duke's wife. Hugh was feeling very depressed after loosing a woman to his best friend and made a few mistakes that he wishes he could take back. His mistakes started to affect his name and his business and he knew that things were not looking good for him. Avery was hired to help clean up his name and them more she got to know the real Hugh, the more she liked him. This book was entertaining and steamy. I loved how it contained characters from previous books from Anna Durand and we could see a little of what they were up to now. I really enjoy this author's books and can't wait to read the rest of the Scots and Brits books.

Have I been waiting for this one? Yes, yes I have. We first got our glimpse at Hugh Parrish in the triple series crossover novel (Hot Brits/Hot Scots/Au Naturel), which focused on the unequal love triangle between Callum MacTaggart, Hugh's best mate and strapping Scot, Kate Wagner, the American lass and Hugh himself, a Brit. Callum fought hard against Hugh--sometimes quite literally--for Kate's heart, with the surly Scot sending the Brit home to England with his tail between his legs. This is where Hugh's story begins, and where we get to see the first layer of Lord Steamy.
Hugh's exuberant and cocky personality and charm oozes from The American Wives Club and into this novel of his own with ease. It's like I've never been away from him, reading about him. This novel was his chance to come into his own, charm and schmooze his way as much as he dared, proving that he still has what it takes while for the public eye at least, trying to prove something else entirely. That said, we as readers get to see the real Hugh come through from all the layers he's been using to shield himself under for more than he can remember. We see the real Lord Steamy evolve into good old Hugh Parrish, and it's all thanks to the tenacity and talent of Avery Hahn. And she's starting a revolution.
Now, let's talk about the title because ladies and gentle readers, you're getting what's written on the can so to speak. Yes it is true that there is indeed one scandal--which you'll all get to read about when you pick up this book--, but there is far from one hot moment between Hugh and Avery. I could swear my bedroom window steamed up from the heat between the pages I was reading! Suffice to say, Hugh wasn't lying about his reputation when it comes to being Lord Steamy. Phew.
One Hot Scandal is a story of redemption, reputation and rakes. Or rather, rake. Singular. In a world where image and status is everything, he will quickly learn that there are more important things on the menu. Sincerity, honesty, truth. Opening up his life and his heart to Avery Hahn could be Hugh's key to a future he never knew was possible, or that he could ever have dreamed of having while supposedly ditching his distinguishing moniker laid on him by another. As for Avery? She has as much to get out of the situation she has been put into as much as Hugh. Changes can be scary, unwelcome or unsettling, but there's one thing Ms. Hahn knows she wants, and it's the man who--at least she thinks--is out of her reach. The Lord wants his Lady, and she might just want him back.

Lord Steamy finally gets his book and it was everything I hoped for. “One Hot Scandal” is steamy, has heart and definitely has some good laughs in it.
After leaving Scotland heartbroken, Hugh is dealing with a scandal. Unknown to him, his one night stand turned out to be a Duchess who kept her identity a secret. Her husband is furious and looking to ruin Hugh. Hugh’s mum hires Avery, an image consultant to turn things around. But even Avery isn’t immune to Lord Steamy and Hugh finds exactly who he’s looking for.
I loved the banter and flirting between Hugh and Avery. It was some of my favorite that I’ve ever read by Anna Durand. Hugh has an amazing personality and you can’t help but fall for his charm too. I loved Avery’s career and how it brought her to Hugh. These two definitely had hot chemistry and I love them together. Avery’s brother, Derek, was hilarious and his big brother's protectiveness and antics were so funny. I can’t wait for his story next.

Hugh is call Lord Steamy in the tabloids and he has earned that name. He is hawt. His body, his face, and his sexual prowess. This time he gets a bit of steam thrown back at him in the form of one sexy public image consultant hired by his mother.
What starts out as a business arrangement which is just what he needs in his life… turns into just what he needs for the rest of his life.
Of course, I loved this story. It is steamy, sweet, unexpected, life-changing, perfection in the love department aided by MacTaggarts, Brits, and a few of our friends from Au Natural fighting a dastardly duke.
I read this story in one “I can’t put it down” afternoon and now I’m stomping my foot because I now want the next book! Avery’s brother, Derek, has already met Diana…. We know their names, but what’s going to happen???!

I love the Hot Brits series but this one fell a bit flat for me.
Hugh, who we met in The American Wives Club as Callum’s best friend, has been hit with a scandal and his mother hires an image consultant to help. Enter Avery, who does everything to resist Hugh’s charm. But fails immediately.
Over the course of the remainder of the book, we watch as Hugh focuses more on his business and making sure people are able to keep their jobs and less on finding women. Although he was head over heels in love with Avery immediately, so he didn’t have to find other women.
Hugh and Avery get their happy ending in this stand-alone book in a series.
I loved the growth Hugh went through during the book. Not only professionally, but also with his personal relationships with family and friends. It really did show him ready to leave his playboy ways behind. I also loved the new nickname of Lord Sticky. I’m sure this was meant to be an insult and innuendo, but I think it worked so well for someone who owns a candy company.
Something that didn’t quite sit well was how Avery seemed to be this professional woman then she immediately seemed to turn around and be a love-struck woman who wasn’t there for work. The flirting but being told not to flirt got a bit repetitive after a while as well.

Luckily, the wives saved the day and their friendship. If you have not read or listened to that book you are missing a real treat of a story, it is an amazing story & audiobook listen. But back to Hugh, he has been a very naughty boy, oh wait he has always been a naughty boy but this time he really stepped in it, he unknowingly slept with the wrong woman, a married woman, one with a husband who is an influential duke who is pissed off and wants revenge and is trying to ruin Hugh. His mother intervenes and hires an image consultant, Avery Hahn, to turns things around for him. Avery, an American, is discreet at what she does and travels anywhere her clients need her. She knew her new client, Hugh Parrish, was going to be a challenge, she is always up for a challenge but this challenge turns out to be something entirely different from her previous ones. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a cleverly plotted story hat that the perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and a steamy romance, well he is Lord Steamy, LOL. Anna Durand, thank you for another enjoyable and fabulously delightful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

Shane East and Vanessa Edwin are superbly talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They have a complete understanding of the characters they portray, giving each a voice that fits each character to a tee, sounding believable in every role they play and just as I picture the characters to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, handle the witty dialogue with ease and land the humor effortlessly. You could hear how much heart and feelings they put into their work as they capture the character’s emotions and project them into their performance and have you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen!

I’ve been looking forward to seeing if we’d ever really get to know Hugh Parrish – and in “One Hot Scandal”, that time has come! If you’ve read other books by Anna Durand, you probably remember Hugh in “The American Wives Club”, which contained something of a love triangle between Hugh, his best friend, and an American woman. Hugh didn’t get the girl, even though he was certainly a witty and charming contender. Now, however, we get to know him on a much deeper level. This is book 7 in the ‘Hot Brits’ series, but if you haven’t read any of the previous books, fear not, because you’ll still be able to enjoy this one.
Avery Hahn is a professional image consultant hired by Hugh’s mother. Hugh has long been enough of a playboy to be known as Lord Steamy, but he still managed to do a good job as CEO of the family company. Now, though, he’s found himself in seriously hot water. Reeling from losing the girl and embarrassing himself in the last book, Hugh has been drowning his sorrows and making bad decisions. The worst was having a one-night stand with a woman who was similarly seeking to drown her sorrows … and not realizing that she was a married woman and a Duchess. She told her husband about Hugh, and now the Duke is out to destroy him and his company. Avery agrees to take on the task of rehabilitating his image and setting him on a new path to hopefully save the company. She’s an intelligent professional with a successful track record in her field. Something about Hugh completely turns her on and throws her off.
Hugh’s character is so well-crafted that he somehow manages to avoid being sleazy. I was surprised by how easily and often Avery violated her own professional code of conduct because of the attraction she feels towards Hugh. In a good story, you want to see the main characters change and develop in some way. Hugh finally finds a deeper relationship and it settles him down, whereas Avery it’s finally motivated to step outside her tightly controlled comfort zone. Overall, this was an enjoyable, easy-to-read story with a satisfying ending.

Seventh book in the Hot Brits series but you don't need to read more to be able to enjoy this one. But if you were to read/listen to one title before this one, I would suggest The American Wives Club as Hugh was featured in that book and events of that story are frequently referred to in this one. But again, don't worry if you haven't, what you need to know gets touched on, you will never be lost.
Hugh Parrish, aka The Viscount Summerly, aka Lord Steamy, is everything you need in a reformed rake/bad boy style hero. He messed up and he knows it. The man who is known for his seduction techniques accidently boinked the wrong woman. Not only was she married... she was a Duchess! Talk about a scandal!
That's only the start of Hugh's troubles. The Duke who's wife he seduced (unknowingly) has now started a campaign to ruin Hugh in any way possibly. In order to get out of the sticky mess he's found himself in, Hugh needs the help of Avery Hahn, American PR consultant and professional cleaner of messes. She needs to take a bit of a unique approach to get this one done though.
The audiobook is performed steamily by Shane East and Vanessa Edwin. Vanessa is perfection as Avery, working hard to keep Hugh on task and to not give in to her attraction. Her internal battle between maintaining professional boundaries and giving in to chemistry is fun to listen to. Shane is super sexy as Hugh and it's great to hear the character's inner battle between maintaining appearances and finding a way to just be himself, his true real self that he's never really had a chance to me.

The audiobook is performed steamily by Shane East and Vanessa Edwin. Vanessa is perfection as Avery, working hard to keep Hugh on task and to not give in to her attraction. Her internal battle between maintaining professional boundaries and giving in to chemistry is fun to listen to. Shane is super sexy as Hugh and it's great to hear the character's inner battle between maintaining appearances and finding a way to just be himself, his true real self that he's never really had a chance to me.

Hugh’s one night stand had turned out to be a Duchess and her irate husband wants to destroy Hugh, so the pressure is on.
Avery Hahn, the expert consultant hired to fix this disaster, figures that Hugh needs a fake relationship, which he says has to be with her, to stop the gossip and appease the Duke. (How she figures that one will work, I have no idea.) Then, hoping the family has hired a consummate professional to fix this mess, it turns out she can’t keep her hands off her client either and things are heading for another disastrous turn.
I hate to add a bah-humbug to a story that tries to be humorous, but Avery’s job, the one they hired and paid her for, was to turn around Hugh’s scandalous behavior. Instead, she got down in the dirt with him and made matters worse. I had no respect for either one of them. Hugh can trash his own behavior, but doing so at the expense of his family’s name and business is not “cute”. Not only does he have no shame, but seems proud of his ability to captivate every female in sight. So this one was not a story line I could applaud. A little self-control would go a long way toward improving his immature character.

Lord Sommerliegh (Hugh Parrish) made a terrible mistake, when he accidentally slept with a duchess, who went home and told her husband thinking he would treat her better. Except, he decided to destroy Lord Sommerliegh and his business. Hugh's mum tried to help him by hiring an image consultant, Avery Hahn. She comes to London to help Hugh improve his public image and help him save his business. When they first meet Hugh was sure there was nothing Avery could do to help him, but by the third meeting the attraction between them was beginning to build some powerful steam, and he starting to believe her. Part of her new image plan was he needed a respectable girlfriend with other good qualities, which Hugh thought all fit Avery perfectly. Avery decided, she would be happy to be his fake girlfriend for the time being. She just hoped she was not in over her head. She really wanted to see Hugh succeed. Their relationship was moving a long much faster than she ever expected. When her brother, Derek showed up in London from New York as he did not like how their last phone conversation went. Avery seemed a little off and he came to make sure Lord Steamy was not pressuring her into anything. Derek worked as a bodyguard so he was a big man like the MacTaggarts. Enjoy this fast paced, action packed story as Hugh and Avery work together to save Sommerliegh Sweets.

Hugh, humbled after a radical McTaggert intervention, then finds himself embroiled in a high society scandal that rocks his confidence as well as the solidity of his family‘s business is now at the mercy of a PR, hired by none other than his mother.
Enter Avery, she’s smart, savvy, professional, bossy and beautiful. She’s also the perfect woman for Hugh. Avery has every intention of maintaining complete professional boundaries, but she’s inexplicably drawn to Hugh and his natural, flirty personality.
The plot of Hugh and Avery’s romance has a work place setting as well as a fake relationship beginning that quickly morphs into more. And both of them want more. While the antagonist is not directly involved with Hugh or Avery, he definitely makes life difficult for Hugh and his business. The scandal is hindering business as usual when it should just blow over.

And to add to the goodness of this story, we have Shane East and Vanessa Edwin voicing Hugh and Avery. This is one of my favorite teams. Able to switch accents with ease, these two play all our characters, complimenting each others performances and creating characters that are easy to love. I enjoyed every minute of this audio!

This is Lord Hugh Parish's story that follows right after the crossover story American Wives that gave us Hugh's best friend Callum's story. Poor Hugh, aka Lord Steamy, is frazzled and totally lost his confidence after leaving Scotland. This is another luscious story from Anna that is a fake relationship that doesn't stay fake for long. It was a fun journey watching Hugh find his center once again and Avery finding someone who can make her feel like she belongs. Hugh is such a likeable nice guy it was great to see underneath the flirting to find the heart of the man.
His family company Sommerleigh Sweets is in trouble because he slept with the wrong one-night stand on the trip home from Scotland. He and Annabelle found themselves at the same pub that night. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "ONE HOT SCANDAL" This is a spin off from The American Wives Club a very interesting, humorous, hot steamy story you can't put down your hooked from the start.
Hugh Parrish is called Lord steamy for a reason his sexual prowess has gotten him in trouble a scandal that could destroy his family's reputation & their company Sommerleigh Sweets.
Hughs mother hires an image consultant Avery Hahn who's as Sexy as sin she's not immune to Lord Steamy's charms, she proposes a fake relationship to stop all the gossip, their chemistry is scorching hot.
I love that Hugh not only had Avery's help but the MacTaggart's, Brits, friends from Au Natural help him fight the Duke Wackenbourne who wanted revenge because she wife slept with Hugh & didn't tell him she the Dutchess.
I definitely recommend to get this amazing story loved having previous characters show up to help Hugh & follow his journey with Avery to get a HEA.
I'm so looking forward to the next book in this series "ONE HOT DEAL"

Lord Steamy! You have WOWed me! Sure you have that sexy voice when you turn on the charm but you did not expect Avery. He was knocked for a loop when Avery does not seem to fall for his normal charm and seduction. Avery has the willpower to openly deny Lord Steamy. BUT secretly she is wooed by him.
I loved seeing Hugh again. The Brit with a broken heart. This story is such a pleasure to listen to..watching Hugh come into himself. Avery challenges him nicely as they work through his PR nightmare.
Secondary characters will charm your pants off. I loved Derek and his hostility as well as Hugh’s Mum who does a nice job interfering in Hugh’s life. I loved them both! It is always a delight to see the Scottish crew. We did get to see more of Callum and a bit of Kate too.
This author always writes such and fun, sexy story. The characters always keep me on my toes and wanting more. I did listen to this on audio. Shane East and Vanessa Edwin are the narrators. I can never say enough nice things about Shane East and all his accents.

You don’t want to pass up this opportunity to hear Shane East as Lord Steamy and Vanessa as the irresistible Avery! Hugh is a relentless pursuer of pleasure and has landed himself in hot water, damaging his reputation and his business (quite by accident, but still) after having his world turned upside down in Scotland recently. Avery is the image consultant hired by his mother to fix his image and save the business. This brings the forbidden/client aspect to the story, which is a favorite. Their attraction is palpable, making for excellent steamy flirting with the promise for so much more!
Shane East and Vanessa Edwin are always brilliant together, so this casting was perfect! The words flow effortlessly so you can get lost in the story. Find out why Hugh is Lord Steamy and why I definitely have a crush on Vanessa’s dude voice in this beautifully narrated book!

One Hot Scandal is the 7th book in the Hot Brits series and it follows Hugh Parrish, who we met in American Wives Club and Avery, the woman tasked to repair his reputation after an unfortunate run-in with a Duke and his wife.
While Hugh is known to be Lord Steamy, his ego has taken quite a hit since the events of AWC and now, he needs to find his confidence and save his company. His mom hires Avery and in the process of rehabilitating his image, they actually fall for each other.
This story is why I always go back to reading Anna Durand book. They are low angst, quick reads and I always enjoy the narrators that are in the audiobooks. There are some awesome steamy scenes, hello, phone s*x, and just great conversation between these two characters. Vanessa Edwin and Shane East are always such a treat to listen to.

This is book 7 in Durand's Hot Brits series. Can be read as a stand alone but I can tell there is some carry over from previous reads in the series but didn't take away from enjoying the story between Avery and Hugh. Hugh is a viscount and has suffered a blow to his ego - as "Lord Steamy" that has to be one heck of a blow. Avery has been hired to assist in helping his image and ends up saving not only his image but Hugh himself. Sweet, steamy with the MacTaggart scots making an appearance the fun is always to be had. Well written with smooth storyline and lead into the next read which I'm looking forward to!

This is Book 7 in the Hot Brits Series by this author, and can be read as a standalone. It is a sweet royal romance between Viscount Hugh and commoner Avery. These characters are likeable, the connection strong, and the unique plot makes for an interesting read. What starts out as a ploy to fix Hugh's public image turns into something more. It is a romantic adventure filled with drama, humor, passion, family dynamic, twists and turns, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. The story flows smoothly and the chemistry between the main characters is hot. A fast-paced read with a happy ending.

Lord Steamy get's into a bit of trouble and needs some help getting out of it. When Hugh leaves Scotland heartbroken, he has a liaison unknowingly with a married Duchess. When her husband finds out, he decides to destroy Hugh and soon all of the UK knows. Hugh's mother decides he needs an image consultant. Enter Avery, US born and breed and just the women to fix this man's image. But they didn't expect their chemistry would be this combustable. This book has sizzle, steam, witty dialogue, a bit of drama, and tons more. This is part of the Hot Brits series by Anna Durand and you could read it as a stand-alone, but the whole series is great.

I've been looking forward to this book since The American Wives Club came out. I really needed to know what would happen with Hugh. He was so sad at the end of TAWC, but he was obviously ready for a change. One scandal and one intervention by a loving mother later, Avery walks into his office and brings him that change. The two of them have instant chemistry, and Shane East and Vanessa Edwin bring that to life beautifully in the audiobook. I couldn't turn it off and ended up listening to the whole thing in one day. The narrators made me laugh and hold my breath and generally have all sorts of reactions to the events of the book. I loved getting to see Callum and Kate again, and Avery's brother is going to be a terrific hero when it is his turn.

It's Hugh's turn to get his chance at finding happiness but at the start of the book, he's dealing with heartbreak and a scandal because his one-night stand turned out to be a Duchess, although she did keep her identity a secret but now her. Her furious husband is determined to ruin Hugh. Thankfully Hugh’s mother has hired Avery, an image consultant to try and save his reputation but Avery is just as susceptible to Lord Steamy as all the other females but this time Hugh finds exactly who he’s looking for.
You'll love these two together they are perfect for each other, their story is a fun read and a great addition to this fun series.

Hugh is dealing with a scandal and his mother ends up hiring Avery to help him. Hugh wants with a woman that turned out to be a Duchess and very married. Avery is hired to help with his image, but she didn't count on her own attraction to him. Sparks fly between them whenever they are together. Will she be able to help his image? Will Hugh finally find a woman to settled down with?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Hugh finds himself embroiled in scandle and his only hope is a personal image consultant, but until he can forgive himself he won't be able to move passed it. Avery never gets emotionally involved with clients, until she sees a side of Hugh Noone else sees and she falls for the sweet gentle man. I love the spin off from the MacTaggarts and how characters keep popping in. This is a great read that I couldn't put down.

One Hot Scandal (Hot Brits #7) is the story of Hugh (nickname Lord Steamy) and Avery. She is an image consultant hired by Hugh’s mother to polish his image after he’s involved in a scandal. As you can expect, it won't be "just business" for long between the two of them.
I loved everything about this book! The main characters and their chemistry, the storyline and, of course, the way every member of the group of family and friends supports them when they need it most.

Hugh gets into a situation where someone wants to destroy him and his family's business. So his image needs to be improved, enter Avery. Avery has a plan to restore his image. What happens is they pretend to be in a relationship. This is just an amazing story. This is part of the Hot Brits series and so far they are all wonderful. Hugh is a fantastic character and Avery was amazing. They have chemistry, and this book is so entertaining.
