Fall is in full swing and Halloween is rapidly approaching. Part of the Halloween festivities is a Giant Maze designed so that the average person can find their way through it in about an hour. As usual, Mayor Lara Crawford is bad-mouthing just about everybody that does not agree with her every whim and heaven forbid that somebody would have the nerve to oppose her in the upcoming election. Lara is even more irate when she learns that Anna is to be one of the judges of the baking contest!! Lara knows she can't do anything about it and that only makes her madder!!
As the Halloween festival prepares to get under way, several people are seen arguing with Lara. She finally cuts the ribbon to officially start things off. A short time later, Lara decides she is going to do the maze just to show how easy it really is. Unfortunately, she never exits the maze, because she is dead. Given Lara's lack of popularity and abrasive ways, there is no shortage of suspects. At least now Anna does not have to worry about Lara's constant accusations of her killing her husband, John.
Who killed Lara? Why was she killed? Does Anna have a verifiable alibi for the time when Lara was killed? Can Anna, Gino, and the Firecrackers untangle the clues to solve the mystery? Can Anna finally figure out who killed John?
Leena Clover has created another wonderful addition to the Dolphin Bay series. With realistic characters and situations plus plenty of twists, turns and red herrings, it promises to keep the reader engaged clear to the end.

"Pumpkin Ginger Bedlam (Dolphin Bay #9)" by Leena Clover is kind of two cozy mysteries in one. We have the mystery that is unique to this particular book in the series. Then, being that this is the final book of the series, we get the resolution to what happened to Anna's husband.
As far as the individual book mystery went, it was a bit fall/Halloween themed. They're all at a Halloween gathering. The mayor is being a massive jerk to pretty much everyone. I honestly do not get why they think it'd be so hard to have someone beat her at the next election. There wasn't a single character that actually liked the woman or didn't have a reason to want to see her out of office if there was someone to actually replace her with. So, ding dong the witch is dead but in the maze with the pitchfork. That mystery wrapped up exactly how I expected it too.
The series overall mystery came to a resolution in what took the last couple of chapters. Anna dives a little more deeply into looking into her husband's death. She uncovers a key clue and the authorities are able to get the last clues they need to close the case. Anna gets closure and can now move on with her life.

I'm sad to see this series end. I just loved it.

Lara Crawford and Anna Butler are not the best of friends. Lara still claims that Anna murdered her own husband and got away with it. Lara is always bulling everyone to get what she wants. But when she is murdered things take another turn. Anna has been trying to find her husband's killer so she can move on with her life, but after all this time is that even possible? There are many 'secrets' that come out about Lara and those she bullied, but how will that help Anna? I voluntarily reviewed and ARC of this book.

It's sad to see this fun series end, but it is a very satisfying ending! So many loose ends (including some I had forgotten about) are explained, all while Anna is solving two new murders in town! Interesting characters, old and new, connect so many loose ends while Anna sleuths and keeps her businesses and life on track. This little laid back town comes to life between the pages, and it feels like I must have visited there in person. I was shocked several times by things Anna uncovered, as well as being relieved that the past mysteries were solved.
This is a series that grew on me over time, as each book was better than the last. It's deep family roots and special friendships create a marvelous background for the continuing story. I loved this last book especially as I had glimpses of future happiness for these great characters.
Kudos to author Leena Clover for a terrific series!

Sad to see it end.
Great ending to a wonderfully written series. The setting and characters are awesome. It was great to see Anna get some closure in regards to her late husband. I look forward to reading about Meg's adventures in her new series. This is a must read series.

Bedlam in Dolphin Bay
This being the final book of the series had a lot of loose ends to work through and complete! Leena did so without disappointing! If you have ever read her other books you know what you know!

I skipped books 7 & 8 because I knew it would be more of the same. I am glad that I listened to the last book in this series. At least the author finished the John part of the story. I will NOT be reading/listening to Meg's adventures.
Maybe I would have liked this series better if I had read the series instead of listening to the AI voice. That voice is very annoying with mispronounced words and inflections are all wrong.

Thoroughly enjoyable read.
I enjoyed this final book in the Dolphin Bay Cozy Mystery series. I was happy that most things got wrapped up, however, I still think there's potential for Dylan, Caddie and Meg...
I'm interested in following Mega journey (hopefully, eventually back to Leo).
Worth reading.

Satisfying Finale
What a read! What a ride!
This was a wonderfully satisfying and fun read.
Anna solves two murders with the help of her loyal family and friends.
Then she solves John's death, and will live happily ever after with her sweet Gino.
This is a most satisfying series!

Sorry to see this series end. Easy, fun books to take to the beach or to read when you wake up at night and can not sleep. You feel like you really connect with the characters. she said. ……… at the end…..
