Formally known as "The Four Horsemen".... Now "His To Claim" Same story, same characters, new and improved look.
“She’s an angel who makes me want to follow her to heaven, but it’s me who will drag her down with me to hell.”
SCARLETT I knew there was good and evil, right and wrong. I understood it was either or, that the two opposites were not interchangeable. If one was good, they were right, if one was evil, they were wrong. Yet soon enough, I would come to question everything I thought I knew. Suddenly it happened, in the most unexpected of ways. I was taken to Servite Academy and I met their Kings. Four highly influential, egotistical, and sardonic men who live for power and thrive on the following of others. Vultures roaming the weak causing their demise, and he stands front and center like the true king he is. Ace Fucking Servite. He’s everything your mother warned you about. Vicious, ruthless, and cruel to the bone. So obviously I couldn’t stay away. I hate everything he stands for. I hate all of those around him. So why can’t I get myself to hate him?
ACE We are the Kings of Servite Academy, ruling our school with an iron fist. Though in reality, we’re the ones who blindly follow orders. In a world like ours, there is always someone with more power, hiding in the shadows, while we stand front and center like puppets on strings. Trained to destroy anyone we see as a threat to our kingdom, there is no good left in us. Then there she was, appearing in the most unexpected way. The embodiment of salvation, my redemption. An angel with the mouth of a devil, a devil with the eyes of an angel. A dream come to life, a nightmare I don’t want to wake up from. Blurring the line between heaven and hell can be dangerous for someone on either side, but what happens when in reality hell is a place on Earth, and heaven is in her arms?

I found this book interesting. There are a lot of things at play here that makes up this story. That’s not a bad thing, however, it’s going to depend on what the reader wants to tolerate and what they like in their stories.
Ace, I found him alluring, a little mysterious and dark. Once his feelings for Scarlett changes, he became more possessive. Scarlett, is a very strong female character. Does not back down and protective of everyone. She is always using that mouth of hers to protect. I thought Ace’s and Scarlett’s chemistry were amazing. The only thing that waver my enjoyment at times, was the love triangle. Only because the back and forth can be a little tiring and I really liked Dragon also, which made it a little frustrating as well that I liked them both. This is a big part of the story and almost a main character. As a reader, be prepared, if you are not into seeing a connection/physical connection with another guy. (NOTE: this does not mean it is a reverse harem as it is not).
Secondary characters. Good job to the author for providing so many characters and still keeping me entertained. I love them all, except Ruby, nail on chalk board annoying at times. I like Ace’s crew, although, we get to know more of Ace and Bass from the crew in this story. I also like Scarlett’s crew a good balance. I love that this also took place at a boarding school.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, as noted for my personal taste the love triangle waver me at times, and I don’t feel like there needed to be a cliffhanger, so many things I believe has already transpired to close this out in one shot. I really just want to dive into Bass/Jade’s and Stella/Kai’s storylines. They were so tempting and juicy that you wanted more of their stories.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I know we all have different opinions and taste with what we read and hope this review was helpful.
DNF 50% but a good debut book nonetheless. I’ve read much worse from established authors.
I did like all the teenage angst, the parties, the OTT sexy outfits, and the crazy ow om drama, but the book lost me after 40%, I got bored.
I loved the strong, self confident, beautiful, sexually satisfied badass h! She’s no whiny insecure virgin dumbass. Ace, schools king and a manho, is suppose to be the H but he seemed more like a side character and things started to drag…🙄. This is suppose to be a love triangle book with the female mc jumping from Drake to Ace, but I like Drake more, since you barely see Ace around. I wish things happened faster…
I started this series because I was more interested in reading the 3 rd book in the seri s with the sister, Jade. But I doubt I’ll read it now, since the H for that book was lusting after another girl here….way to ruin other books in the series author. So now I will avoid that book as well. 😒
Safety spoiler🚩
- h 17 is not a virgin. She had 1 lover- Drake- the om- he was her first. Ace the H was her second.
- The h was sleeping with Drake for 3 months, her foster-home friend, when she kissed the H Ace. She and Drake were not together, just sleeping together in secret. They do officially become a couple after this kiss.
- Someone who read this further spoiled the book and said that, Drake and h, take a break from their relationship, during this break the h slept with the H Ace, and she felt she had betrayed Drake. - there is emotional cheating but not technical cheating happening in this book.
The h does feel lust for both guys, she basically acts like how H act like in romance novels. Seriously, stop slut shaming other females for behaving like how guys act! And it’s the female readers who are slut shaming!
What an incredible author Bellamy Roswell is. I can’t believe this is her first ever book. She writes with such Grace and passion that I cannot believe she doesn’t have other books to her name.
The Four Horsemen rule Servite Academy, until Scarlet and her friends arrive to cause havoc and not follow their orders like the rest of the school does. But why are they really at the school and why is Agent Servite looking for Scarlett’s mother?
Ace and the horsemen are rulers of the school, but Ace only has eyes for Scarlett.
I enjoyed The banter, and sexual tension between Ace and Scarlett; I definitely feel bad for Drake who loves Scarlett and this is happening between then two. Both of these guys are good for Scarlett in their own special way. But the chemistry between her and Ace is undeniable
By the way, cliffhanger galore with that ending. Wow! I can’t wait till the spring of 2021!
If you are looking for a good high school bully romance to end off the year then this book is worth the read. 5⭐ out of 5⭐ for a debut author and her first published book.
The Four Horsemen by Bellamy Roswell is a New Adult Enemies-To-Lovers Dark High School Bully Romance. This is the first book in the Servite Academy For Troubled Teens Series.
Book comes with a disclaimer: "18+ This book is not recommended nor intended for anyone under the age of 18. Some topics, scenes, and/or language in this book maybe sensitive to some readers. Contains dark themes, steamy sex scenes, mature language, and triggering situations."
This is Bellamy's debut novel and she knocked it out of the park. I was hooked from the very first chapter and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The chemistry between Ace and Scarlett were off the charts. I really enjoyed that we got Ace, Scarlett, and Wesley points of view. It really brought the story to life.
The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn't a surprise since its the first book in the series. The book left me with so many questions and I can't for the next book in the series The Holy Trinity to be released in Spring 2021.
I would highly recommend this book if you love enemies-to-lovers romance, bully romance, dark romance, or romantic suspense. This book kept me on the edge of my seat! A Must Read!
''You act as if you were corrupted by the world you were forced to live in. As if you unknowingly follow orders, but you're one in the same with him. Tow men cut from the same flaming cloth. Two sinners who disguise themselves as saints to avoid damnation.''
What a treat!
The Four Horsemen symbolise an Antichrist, war, famine and Death. Four boys who rule the Servite Academy represent power and wealth. But when Scarlett arrives, she pulls the rug right under their feet. She's not alone, she has a gang of her own, lowlives to them posh people. She's feighsty, fierce and she's not backing down. And that makes her stand out. Ace is captivated by this little wicked, mouthy and sexy creature. He would do anything to make her his.
A long long time ago Scarlett came across a man she found repulsive. And that man is now back. He's Ace's uncle and he has unhealthy obsession with Scarlett. She's being blackmailed by him and is forced to do as he pleases.
The world she finds herself in is dark, dangerous and full of secrets.
And this is where this author blew my mind! I'm still discovering the depths of this dark and twisted world Scarlett's now a part of. I never knew where the author's going to go with the story, but no matter what she did, it was the best decision ever! I'm blown away, I have no idea what's going on (I'm loving that) and the plot and the writing are so good, I found myself glued to my kindle, turning the pages like a maniac.
Well done! Powerful, mysterious and intriguing. Can't wait for more.
As the debut Book of the Author, I would say the Author has done a Fabulous job with this book. I really loved the idea as it was something unique which I have never read.
I love How the conversations/dialogues were written. Some lines literally touched my heart.
The female characters in this book is way too strong than the male ones and I guess that's why it was highlighting the Scarlett only.
I loved the starting chapters of the book it got me hooked with the book but as I was reading, I felt that the male character is just talking, I mean there was no actual example of some bad deeds for which they were famous for. The author had mention about it and that's it, There were no scenes for the same.
Plus, I guess that the Connection between Ace's and Scarlett's was not that strong? Or I guess way too fast. There was chemistry? Definitely. There was attraction? Absolutely. But I felt there was not that much scenes where they have actually spent time together before getting in a relationship. I think I more liked Drake's and Scarlett's relationship than Ace's and Scarlett's.
**As the author already mentioned in the Blurb this book is for 18+ it has mentioned things like Cheating, abuse, Drugs etc.
The Four Horsemen is a full length novel by the beautiful debut author Bellamy Roswell. Its the first book in her A Servite Academy for Troubled Teens series and must be read first. This is spoken in Dual Perspectives.
This book absolutely blew me away. From start till finish I was completely consumed in Scarlett and Ace's story. They completely fired up my kindle with their undeniable chemistry.
A enemies to lovers high school bully romance, with so much angst, suspense, teenage drama, banter and ALL THE HEAT. This debut novel is one you NEED to read. It does end on a cliffhanger that had me screaming and cursing but I wouldn't change anything. Bring on the next one!
An intriguing debut. This author snuck onto the scene with a few well placed lines, and some teasers, and I knew I’d be reading this. A hint of mystery, strong female characters, some alpha male behavior and a boarding school. Mix it all up and the recipe is foolproof. The only thing I was lacking is seeing the boys in action. They were well known for misdeeds, but I didn’t really witness anything that made me acknowledge them in that light. Other than that, it was all here. The cliffhanger got me though, and I can’t wait to find out what’s next for this group.
The teasers for this book caught my attention so I had to grab it and start the series. Bellamy is a new author and this is her debut book. I think she did a great job on the story for a debut book.
Scarlett and her group of family are the poor foster kids from the wrong side of town scooped up and plopped in to a fancy academy for rich spoiled kids... the best of the best. But they're brought there on a bogus scholarship for a more sinister reason. Ace's uncle holds the answers. I enjoyed the fact that this being a high school bully romance it actually showed some more high school like scenes and behaviors even if at first I found them annoying because I have gotten so used to high school bully romances having all the students act like such adults. Scarlet goes through the love triangle and struggle of choosing between. There are fights between friends and catty moments between the girls. But underneath once night falls, that's when the sketchy business takes place. I will definitely be reading book 2 soon.
I had the privilege of editing and proofreading this debut novel and I was impressed! This YA angsty-bully novel will pull you in from the beginning. There are many characters you will meet along the way and will be intrigued with - not only the feisty heroine and the bad boy hero.
The story is full of twists and turns as you are introduced to this world of the elite and privileged, and the struggling orphans of Servite Academy. Although the writing, world and story are captivating, I was hoping for a deeper connection between the H and h, and hope we'll see that develop more in book 2. Overall it was a fantastic debut! Well done B Roswell!!
The Four Horsemen by Bellamy Roswell was a rollercoaster of a read! I fell in love with Scarlett and the crew instantly and the story had me turning the page and keep going until I forgot there was an ending.
I adored Scarlett. I loved how strong, independent and feisty she was. She got annoyed at times, but I adored her tenacity and how she fought for herself a lot. And her tattoos were incredible.
Ace was dark, dangerous and mysterious. I loved how Scarlett brought the more vulnerable side of him out, and the chemistry between him and Scarlett. Wow! On fire!
The crew were awesome. Kai and his loyalty, Jade and her sisterly love for Scarlett, and Drake, was, well. I'm in love with Jake.
As for the Horsemen, I am in fascination with 3 out of 4 of them. Alek, I could take or leave, lol.
The Four Horsemen reminded me of pretty little liars with a little more darkness. There were plenty of secrets lingering, and there were a few people who annoyed me, and one or two who gave me the creeps.
And the cliffhanger... Ohmygawd! That baby left me dangling, and I need book two ASAP!
Overall, an incredible start to the series! It was mysterious and steamy and angsty and I couldn't stop reading. It was very addictive and I cannot wait to continue the series.
Am I right in thinking this is Bellamy first book? I am blown away. This book is everything. It was so unexpected. I loved it. This is my favorite kind of book. Bellamy has written something that can turn into the most incredible series. Scarlett is one festy lady. She is honestly one of the most incredible woman I have read. All the woman in this book are incredible. I can't wait for jade story. The four horsemen wow... ACE IS hot and him and Scarlett together are next level, I like that it wasn't insta love. For a minute I thought Scarlett's story would end a different way. The secrets they all hold had me gripped. The ending omg wtf. I need the next book like now. It's very difficult not to give anything away lol.
If you like high school bully romance but with a dark side and men who will bring you to your knees and woman who are the Alphas, you will love this book.
I hope each person in this book get a book. Kai is amazing. Sebastian's story needs to be told.!!
The author provided a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
Wow! Bellamy Roswell knocked her debut book out of the park! I'm beyond impressed! Whenever you read a new authors first book it gives you a sense of their potential and Bellamy is going to be a star in the book community! I absolutely 100% loved this book and I'm so excited to read more by her.
This book is filled with mystery. Something dark and insidious is happening behind the scenes. It's sexy and steamy and I'm beyond curious to see what happens next!
This book is very similar to The Boys of Brayshaw High it’s uncanny. Probably would’ve enjoyed it more, but all the constant “shouting” grated on my nerves for some reason (surely other words could’ve conveyed the same message?)
I loved this authors writing. I loved this book!! Dark bully romance is my favorite genre to read and it did not disappoint! This was just what I was looking for in a book and I’m so glad to get this arc from the bookish girls and the author!
I loved the story line, loved the heroine, not the usual loner, but a strong queen with her solid group of friends. Our bullies are not the typical ones, I found them to be somehow not as mean as the average even when the uncle was super creepy. A total page turner! It ends with a cliffhanger, and a really good one I most add!
Wow. Wow. WOW. This book was...I'm speechless. I loved it so much. Never read anything by Bellamy Roswell and I am extremely pleased. The dual prospective was perfectly done always switching POV's when it was just needed. Roswell's detail and character development was wonderfully done. My only complain is that this book wasn't long enough.
Scarlett is a very strong independent heroine. Living the life she was dealt she takes no sh*t, and believes heavily that your family isn't blood but the people you love and surround yourself with. Her mother was an addict who married another addict that had a daughter, Jade, and a son, Roman. Sadly, Roman disappears, but I'm hoping he'll make an appearance in the next book. Jade and Scarlett are sisters to the core, regardless, of no blood relations. I don't wanna give too much away because you MUST read this book. However, Jade and Scarlett end up leaving their home to go to a foster home, The Graysons, with 5 other kids: Ruby, Kai, Drake, and Jax.
THEN RANDOMLY (not really randomly, but pretty damn randomly), the headmaster of Servite Academy comes to their home to tell them that they are gonna be the guinea pigs of a new scholarship program the academy is doing. All six of them are thrusted into this world of elite snobby rich kids who have not a problem yet still find a way to be miserable world. And it is there Scarlett meets the beautifully broken and evil, Wallace Servite, or Ace. Technically, she's already in a relationship with her foster brother Drake but... let's just say it's a really rocky road with them moving to a new school and Ace's possessive claim on Scarlett.
"You're the devil in disguise. A cool, beautiful exterior casting a shadow on your ruthless interior. A fool's blindspot."
The relationship between Ace and Scarlett is truly beautiful, but it's hard. They are both characters who need control and need independence, so it's always a push and pull. But they also surrender to only each other...like they're each other's kryptonite and some scenes really make my heart warm. Lol, while some scenes make other places warm XD Bellamy Roswell can really write a steamy scene let me tell you!!! Make sure you have water on hand.
Don't be fooled though. This story runs deeper than it appears. A lot of twists and and what the *ucks will be said. There is also some side relationships that I am most definitely rooting for as well. I can't wait till the next book, I will have to reread the last chapter so I can be prepared but that ending was well another "what the fu*k" moment. 6799902012882939 stars!!!!⭐️
Going into this read I didn’t realize this was Bellamy’s first novel. Her attention to detail is on point. As she describes the characters appearances and demeanors, you get such a clear vision in your mind. She has woven an intriguing tale involving the families in an elite secret society who happen to be the founders of the school.
Scarlet and Jade, stepsisters and best friends, end up in foster care when they are abandoned by their parents. In their new home they create a family with Damon, Jaxon, Ruby, and Kai. Suddenly and abruptly their senior year of high school they are informed by the headmaster of the academy that they will attend the school as part of a new program. They are met with much resistance from the other students. Right from the start they must stand their ground against the kings and queens of Servite.
From the start Scarlet and Ace have major combustible chemistry. As much as Scarlet is drawn to Ace, she fights the attraction. Ace is completely caught off guard by Scarlet and attempts to uncover the secrets surrounding her and the reasons she is at the school. The force between them is twisted and manic, but there is little they can do to fight it.
To protect those she loves, Scarlet will make decisions they question and make a deal with the devil. This book has serious twists and turns, keeping you on the edge of your seat. Prepare yourself to fall down the rabbit hole and be consumed by all the feelings that will assault your soul.
I’m very curious about the next book and the turns this series will take. This book ends with a hella cliffhanger. And, I have to wonder if the next book with still be from Ace and Scarlet’s POV because there is much left unsaid.
This book has the rich boy bully, enemies to lovers, possible love triangle, suspense romance all rolled into one amazing read.
3.5/5 For whatever reason, I'm a sucker for the "wealthy hero in the sinister micro-Illuminati vs. destitute but streetwise heroine showdown in a fancy school" set-up. If I find one, and it's not rh, I'm pretty much guaranteed to give it a shot. Sometimes that bites me in the ass, but luckily this was a good time. The Four Horsemen was a fun read, and a promising debut. The author used the template, but made it original enough that it felt like her own. She created an engaging group of characters for us to follow. It got a little OTT and immature at times. Dark or no, it's still set in high school. But the story was interesting, and she built the suspense and mystery very effectively.
The theme of the good/evil, saint/sinner, angel/devil, heaven/hell dichotomy gave another layer of interest to the environment and the characters' relationships. I liked it, but the problem was that it was leaned on too heavily. The metaphor was way overused, shoehorned needlessly into parts of the story that didn't benefit from it, and it got repetitive. I feel like it would have been a lot more effective with a little subtlety,
One of the main issues I had was with the dialogue. It was alright most of the time, but sometimes, the characters language would get flowery and melodramatic. They'd talk in drawn-out metaphors that would usually stop making sense at some point. The MCs would especially make these long, poetic sounding overtures to each other. It was totally unrealistic sounding. It would be one thing if what they were saying were just thoughts, and we read them as part of the characters' inner monologues, but this was supposed to be dialogue. Nobody talks like that in real life. When MCs suddenly wax poetic in conversation with each other once they get together, it doesn't feel romantic to me at all. It makes their whole dynamic seem fake, and it ruins their chemistry.
The grammar and spelling was mostly pretty good, but there were several times where I thought words were misused. Either the author was confused on the definition, or they meant to write a different word than they did. It wasn't constant by any means, but it was enough that it felt like a pattern.
The hardest part of this story for me was the love triangle. I'm not opposed to a love triangle, but I'm a wuss about it. I need to be backing the winner, you know? I can't handle the disappointment otherwise. Love triangles get rough for me when the heroes are as evenly matched as they were in this book. I get too attached to the one left in the cold. I think it was particularly difficult in this story for a few reasons. For one, the heroine was already in a loving, satisfying relationship with the OM, Drake, before she had even met the hero. They had great chemistry, and it didn't feel like anything was missing when they were together. For two, Drake was great, and not just in the bland, good guy, safe option kind of way. He was a sexy bad boy in his own right. He saw Scarlett for who she was and respected her. And really, Drake was cooler than Ace. For three, I had to watch that relationship between Scarlett and Drake crumble and fall in a way that didn't make her look great. She wasn't outright awful or anything. There were just some parts that...didn't feel good. There was a measure of infidelity. Grey-area infidelity.*
Toward the end of the story, the heroine was pushed to do this kind of extreme reconnaissance mission, and it felt random as hell. It seemed out of nowhere that Jade would strong-arm Scarlett into something like that. It was her first time mentioning it, and they hadn't even considered other ways to get the information they wanted outside of deception. The reasoning seemed thin. And I didn't get why she felt she needed to be so callous with Drake to do it.
For all the attention and care placed on their build-up, Scarlett and Ace's relationship was largely summarized once it happened. We were told what it looked like from the heroine's POV, but I really wish we we shown it more. There were complicating factors that made the situation murky, and the heroine's account flip-flopped enough that I didn't know how I felt about it. I already felt pretty dirty about how everything went down at that point, and I was having a hard time finding their genuine connection through all of the other shit flying around. Part of that ambiguity was intentional I'm sure, but I think I was probably supposed to have a greater confidence in their connection at that point than I did.
As tense as I am, there's still so much to figure out, and so many ways this story can go. That cliffhanger got me good!
Just wow what a book I was into this book as soon as I read the first chapter in this books it was a page turner for sure. A lover to enemies romance with a little dark side to it. I can’t wait to see what happens next with these characters. Like her mother is something else I don’t know why came back but it was not good at all and what is going to tell her step-sister about what she saw at that dinner party.

The Four Horsemen: A Servite Academy for Troubled Teens is Book #1 in the series and debut novel for author Bellamy Roswell. Although I had never heard of this author (obviously, since it's her debut) the blurb had me intrigued, and I can honestly say that I am glad I took the chance and time to read this. While it is a fairly dark enemies-to-lovers story, I enjoyed the drama, mystery and overall plot in this book. This story is about Scarlett. She hasn't lived a very good life with an unknown father and alcoholic and abusive mother. When he mother and stepfather go MIA, she and her stepsister are taken into foster care. After a few years, she finally understands the meaning of family. She has bonded with not only her foster carers, but also with the other kids in the home, but the good in her life never lasts long. She is once again ripped from her family and taken to a prestigious school, but at least she's not alone. Her stepsister and some of her foster siblings were also recruited by the school. She has some questions as to why her and why now when she gets creepy vibes from the guy who recruited her to come to the school. The same guy who was at her home when her parents disappeared. With her and her 'family' being from the wrong side of the tracks in this elite school, the rich kids think they can walk all over them, but are they in for a rude awakening. Not only is Scarlett brave and tough, she freely speaks her mind and won't let anyone mess with her family. Not even the Four Horsemen. The so-called kings of Servite Academy. Scarlett and her crew bow down to no one. Ace Servite has long lived a privileged life. He can get whatever he wants whenever he wants. But as soon as he sets eyes on Scarlett, things change. He wants to know why his uncle brought them here. He has long known that his uncle is a cold, ruthless and calculated man, but what is his interest with Scarlett? Scarlett is unlike any other girl he has met. She's beautiful with a banging body and her sassy mouth and attitude make him want to spank her. She challenges him at every turn and he finds himself wanting her more every day. Boyfriend or not, he will make her his. I absolutely loved this story. Everything was well written and some of the scenes were so hot. I think this was a great debut for Bellamy Rosewell and can't wait for the next instalment.
I have to admit that this is a very successful debut - the book has drawn me in so much, that I am very much looking forward to the second part.
Scarlett Steele unfortunately didn't have an easy life. After the sudden disappearance of her toxic mother and stepfather, there is an ongoing investigation lead by the Police as they broke the law. A fourteen-year-old girl and her stepsister Jade are being placed in foster Home in Pleasant Hills. When they warmed up the places there and meet other foster children who eventually became their family. Their peace was once again destroyed three years later, as Agent Wesley Servite showed up again. He was previously working on the case of their parent's disappearance. He told them that they are (along with 4 of their friends) had been admitted to the prestigious Servite Academy Program of troubled youth. On the place it turns out that the school is ruled by four horsemen, who impose rules on everyone else. However, Scarlett and her friends don't follow them, which doesn't appeal to the chief commander - and especially to their leader Ace. There are public clashes between our heroine and him. How will their relationship develop between the two of them? And was the program that they were enrolled in accidental?
I have to say, after I finished this book, I have more questions than answers. I'm not hiding the fact that I'd like to have the other part at hand. It's been a long time since any book left me with such a sense of chaos in my head. I very much like the created hate-love relationship between the main characters- build slowly, but the tension was still growing. There are not many erotic scenes in the book, but there is a lot of such magnetic chemistry between the characters. Besides, there are many events in the background, behind which there are many secrets. And as readers, we get some scraps of information, but the author cleverly leads us by the nose to end up leaving us with even more questions. The book is well written, sexy, dangerous and addictive. For me, the number of characters in this book was a bit problematic, because sometimes I got lost who is who, as I have trouble remembering the names. I congratulate the authors on her debut and I look forward to the next part - I need answers!
What an intense ride this story was! It’s dark, gritty and extremely sexy. Right from the start we are thrown into an emotional rollercoaster ride filled with so much pain, anger and angst that your head will be spinning. The story is filled with twists and turns that your never see coming and that shocking ending will have you begging for more.
The characters are well written and believable. You can feel their angst, their pain and their anger with very word written. Each one of them has a story to tell and I hope we learn more about them as the series moves on.
Scarlet is fierce, sassy and one badass teenager. She has been dealt some ugly cards in her life but she never lets it take her down. She takes no crap from anyone and can dish the foul mouthed insults like a beast. She is very protective of her makeshift family and will do anything to keep them from harm.
”An angel with the mouth of a devil. A devil with the eyes of an angel. A dream come to life, a nightmare I don’t want to wake up from.”
Ace is pure alpha. He’s domineering and angry but loves passionately. I need to know more of his background so that we can see where his anger comes from. We only get snippets in this first story.
The connection that he and Scarlet develop is one filled with an intense need for power from both of them. They are constantly pushing and pulling at one another making the sexual tension between them feel like a live wire ready to explode.
”For you are an angel in this hell on earth. I am the serenity in your chaos. You are the fuel to my eternal fire. Together we are the perfect match one created in limbo, the space between heaven and hell. You are the angel that makes me want to follow you to heaven. But it is me who will drag you down with me to hell.”
This story is twisty, dark, dangerous and filled with all kinds of secrets that haven’t even been touched on yet. Fantastic writing, phenomenal characters and a storyline that none of readers even has a clue to where this will all lead to in the end.
