Michael Stratten’s soul was aching for a new life, one far away from the bloodshed and battlefields he knew as an army officer. For a brief moment it appeared he found it on a tranquil farm in Arizona. Not only that but he discovered a beautiful partner, Dolly Carrington.
All of that was yanked from him by a ruthless raid conducted by Mexican Federales. It left his beloved Dolly dead.
Michael vows to go after those who crushed his dreams. Along the way he finds out the so-called Federales are really a vicious gang of American and Mexican outlaws who are conducting a ruse. The real goal of their brutal leader, Milo Wedge, are two Gatlin Guns at Fort Canyon. A Mexican crime leader has offered to pay twenty thousand dollars each for the weapon.
Michael battles politics and his own personal demons along the way. He’s still trying to come to grips with a massacre of innocent American Indians he witnessed but the army covered up.
Raw courage is what Michael needs, to serve justice and bring back his peace of mind.
Another classic western with respectful romance and women as strong frontier folk from author William Black.
Each book in the Post-Civil War Western Justice series is a standalone story that can be read out of order.
Revenge is sweet, but pursuit is also endearing in this compassionately motivated story!
Five stars and more in this compassionately motivated series of one exciting episode after the other! A recently retired Army officer purchases a ranch, falls in love and his fiancee is killed by a marauding bunch of misfits! His very intense pursuit of this murdering bunch is definitely interesting to say the least! He is assisted by Tate, Proud Feather, and an irate lady, who's husband had been killed by the same bunch of misfits! Outstanding storylines from beginning to end, as these dedicated individuals goes above and beyond, pulling no punches in their quest to bring justice to those responsible for their ongoing misdeeds! Too, this Author's uncanny ability of character selections were outstandingly portrayed in their respective roles! Most definitely recommend this compassionately, and definitely heartwarming, series of unending excitement to everyone, but you old western folklore seekers will certainly be appeased with this possessed group of dedicated individuals! You non-western readers will also find yourselves completely entertained immediately and you interest will never wane from beginning to end!!!😃
So sad when a young vibrant girl’s life has been snuffed out. She never gets her chance to be a wife and mother. Michael Stratton, with the help of others, restores order and finds justice with some pretty bad outlaws. He is lucky and finds love with a lady who is also seeking justice regarding the murder of her husband by the same outlaws.
This is the 1st book that I have read by this author it seems to be well written characters or defined very well story flows smoothly has a few little twist here in there but I enjoyed it highly recommended
The western frontier was a journey for people who were brave enough to seek their own destiny and this novel is one of the stories of the making of America.
