She-wolf Lyric Gerrick knows her alpha wolf parents want her to settle down with a pack member and build a life in Kentucky, but her restless wolf isn’t interested in anyone in Allen. After exhausting job options in Allen and the surrounding towns, she answers an ad for a teaching job at Ashland Elementary, a town in Indiana full of mountain lion shifters. Her parents happen to know someone in Ashland willing to let Lyric stay with them during the interview process. What she wants is to get the job. What she doesn’t expect? To find not one mate, but two.

Mountain lion shifters Elliott and Evan Fallon have been working for the Ashland police department from the moment they graduated from the police academy. They both love keeping the humans and shifters in the sleepy town of Ashland safe. When the daughter of their mother’s old friend arrives in Ashland for a job interview, they know the moment they lay eyes on her that the delectable Lyric is the one female for them both.

Lyric’s parents are not okay with her having two mates who are mountain lion shifters who’d like her to move to Ashland with them. Old wounds are exposed, and painful memories dredged up, but it’s not Lyric, Elliott, and Evan’s fight—it’s their parents’. Can the blooming love between the wolf and mountain lion trio bring their two groups together, or will things be over before they start?

If you love RE Butler and if you love Ashland Pride and Wolf's Mate then you are in for a treat!!
I can't tell you how much happy i am to finally see all those characters back together and of course its all cause of the kids that have grown and now they make their lives.
I have to admit i didn't expect to be so upset by Jason and Cadence...i had forgot how stubborn they used to be!
Still an amazing story that will bring you back to two places that i personally had and still love.
Amazing characters and familiar faces and places.
Great first book and can't wait to see what is going to happen next

great idea, failed in the execution.

Loved the idea of the world and plot, but didn’t enjoy the actuality.
Dialogue is too stilted and forced, with wordy, repetitious explanations.

Some overly cringe ideas wedged in, though not sure if it’s in reference to other works, upcoming books, or simply further failed world building?

No romance to speak of, with an Insta love that has little, to no love connection evident.

While this must work for some, considering how many books follow, it was a clear and definite miss for me.

I gave it 2⭐️’s due to the world building concept that appealed in idea.

Easy read

This is a story that is all around us in the everyday. In the paranormal, it's just easier to see and define. The storyline was simple, with a few tangents thrown in to keep it interesting. The characters were charming, but I just wish the storyline was expanded to add some angst or adventure. It was a good, easy read perfect for when I've had a migraine and don't want to read anything heavy.

I loved this one so hard! For fans of the Wolf’s Mate or the Ashland Pride series, you are in for a treat. The kids are all grown up and ready to start their own life with mates and family. Lyric is Jason and Cadence’s daughter and it’s obvious that she has inherited their stubborn streak. Mom and dad have plans for her future and when she doesn’t fall in line, things get tense. I love that the Ashland Pride still accepts new family with open arms and hearts. Elliot and Evan are just as strong, dedicated, and loving as their dads. It was wonderful to see couples from both sides with their families growing up, knowing that their lives are just as they should be. There is a bit of action as new enemies are dealt with and innocents are rescued.

Aaaaaaaaaaaa,what was that ?

⚠️ spoilers ahead ⚠️
Aaaaaaaaaa,I honestly feel like I just read the “Hallmark “ equivalent of a paranormal romance.
Dear lord, this was so saccharine and so sweet I’m truly grateful I’m _not_ a diabetic.
On a scale of 1-10 I’d say the drama was about a four.
Supposedly Lyric was a bit of a wild child during her teenage years and I’m betting those years had 10X the drama this did.
This story just screamed “huge drama” awaits from the books desc.
First book I ever read was the book that started the whole Ashland migration : Callie and the Cats .
The twins mothers book. I was so excited 😆.
But sadly deep disappointment and frustration was all I got.
The parents are harsh, a bit selfish and very over protective for shifter parents. Lyric is ALWAYS kind, and open and honest and always above board.
She leaves her home town determined to start her own life. She does. The twins are itching for change like their fathers before them . Lyric has literally just arrived when she meets her guys and that’s all she’s wrote.
Her parents get severely ticked off when she calls them to share the news ,like she expected. Some tension for a few days . Overly sweet mate talk. Parents pull something dumb by sending brothers to get her. It isn’t successful.
They eventually go see parents for a full moon run, things feel tense, you think finally the build up will produce some action .
No.
No. Not at all.
Run has barely started when abused “dragonfae” girls are in need of rescue . Girls are saved . One of the twins is hurt .
All is forgiven. Everyone is now all sorry and lovey dovey and the trio go home to a new job and a celebration. Woooo 😏
One sex scene ,that wasn’t very interesting. Lots of build up to nothing really . Cadence never once even tried to work things out with Callie . Nothing was really resolved. Lots tension that doesn’t really lead to anything and insta love between three ppl so kind and sweet and considerate they make the average Hallmark character seem like a vicious B from one of the “Fake Housewives of blah blah” shows.
Geez,I expected far too much of this to get sucked into buying this book but thought at least the original conflict that started it all to be resolved or at the very least to be addressed by the characters involved. But Callie and Cades only talk twice. Once for Cades to ask a Very sweet Callie to give Lyric a place to stay for a night and then once as Cades walks by her and very little is said.
Not much of a “romance” even for a fated insta love and none of the promise of the desc. is fulfilled .
Gone and not coming back again.

Lyric, Evan and Elliott

Lyric is a wolf shifter and grew up in Allen, Kentucky. She has always wanted to be a teacher but can't find a job so she works at a daycare. Lyric has been sending out resumes to surrounding areas for a job. She gets a response from a school in Ashland, Indiana, where her mother's friend moved to. Lyric's mother calls and asks if Lyric can spend the night.
Elliott and Evan are twin lion shifters and are police officers. Their mom used to live in Allen but left and found her true mates in two men. Her old pack doesn't believe in multiple partners. When Lyric comes to their farm, they immediately know she is their mate.
Lyric is so happy she has finally found her mates but her parents are not. They try to force her back home but Lyric stands up to her alpha parents and refuses. Will Lyric, Evan, and Elliott get their happily ever after?
Great story. I sorta knew how Lyric felt because my parents didn't care for my husband while we were dating. Butt alphas. Sex. Truemates.

I knew there was no way I would not love this book, but to combine one of my favorite series about the Ashland pride and the wolf mate series, it was like my dream came true. A new generation of shifters has now come into adulthood and they are looking for their fated mates. Fate has a way of bringing you where you need to be and that is exactly where she wolf lyric found herself in Ashland. Even though her parents were not happy she had to do what was necessary to get a job. What she hadn’t planned on was meeting Elliot and Evan Fallon, lion shifters, and her true mates. Everything was coming together for them except for the fact that lyrics parents who happened to be the Alphas of the pack we’re not happy. And they plan to put muscle behind their feelings. The book is so amazing and well written. And an accumulation of 20 years of hard feelings that finally come to a conclusion. Such a great happily ever after

So this book is obviously linked to the Wolf's Mate series as the romance is between Jason and Cadence's daughter, and Callie's sons. It's also linked to other series like Ashland Pride with events being mentioned like breaking the curse that made female cat shifters so unfeeling.

I honestly don't know why this was written. It adds nothing new to the series. It's a complete rehash of Callie & the cats with Jason and Cadence being so rude and judgemental, making demands in ways that completely destroy the integrity of the character. It is difficult to read a book where pack and loyalty is placed above all then the read parents talk to their daughter with such disgust and domination. It's not a world I want to read more of, it's just wholly unpleasant for a romance series

A fast paced match, angry family, a job offer, and not one but two mates (wolves don’t share), what’s a girl,to do! Get sucked into this unexpected situation, become BFFs with this pride and pack, see what happens! Will she be able to resist her Alpha’s orders? Do they stand a chance to have a happy ending?

Great read!

I found Lyric to be wholly relatable and could easily understand her need to assert her individually. All women should follow their dreams wherever they may lead.
I found some grammar, tense, and word-choice issues. However, most readers would simply not notice them, as they did not cause confusion in the continuity of the book.
Please, read it for yourself...especially if you are trying to break out of a rut in your life...you may find your courage in this story.

Interesting Story

I liked the premise of this story and how conflict arose from past generations. It was hard to keep track of all of the characters with some names dropped in with no background. There was a huge disconnect when it came to an exciting part of the story and then veered into new characters and then resolved all the issues. I really lost interest at that point. Also a huge error saying who was injured during the hunt. Too much to keep track of for the writer and editors! I did enjoy the story, but don't have interest in reading more of these similar stories.

Overly sweet romance. I found the characters very two dimensional. I could not describe them past saying they are sweet. I thought we might finally get some action in the hunt, but, instead, four fae teens, including a dragon fae are rescued from traders in a scene with very little tension and very little relevance to the rest of the story. The rescue did mean that the father began to respect the two male protagonists, but that was also dismissed quickly. I suspect the fae children will feature in another story and this was their introduction to the pack.

I'm so excited that the author decided to write a series of Next Generation books set in her The Wolf's Mate world. This first book features Jason and Cadence's daughter, Lyric, as she tries to find a teaching job. Little does she know when she goes on an interview in Ashland, old history will rise up ..and possibly become her future.

This book was so good. I'm super happy to catch up with characters from the original series, and to meet the new generation. I can't wait to read who's next.

next generation love

I can’t believe Callie, Ethan and Eryx’s twin boys are all grown up and they’ve found their mate in Jason and Cadence’s daughter Lyric. I really began to dislike Cadence and Jason through this book, as it reminded me how they behaved with Callie all those years ago. But they came around to supporting their daughters mating with two cats. Great dip into both sides, the pack and the pride and meeting up with familiar old friends. Really enjoyed this book.

I really enjoyed this story of a Strong Alpha breed She wolf who sets out to start a new career in another state but was not expecting to meet her sexy twin mates that capture her heart from the start. Little did the trio no that they would have to try to change the opinion of Lyric’s parents who are Alpha’s of her pack. This is a great story to read and introduce you to the next generation of wolf mates.

Lyric

Lyric is looking for a teaching position and as broadened her search from Kentucky. When a job offer from Ashland, Indiana she asks her mother to contact her old friend Called for a place to stay overnight so Lyric will be fresh for her in face interview.

What will Call is say? What happens when Lyric arrives? Who are the cats Lyric finds? And what is their role in her future?

Bit heavy on the saccharine and on the recaps. I always thought alpha Jason was an asshole. And honestly, i don't see how the mom could have stayed for years with someone so cruel and selfish and a dick.

I guess some folks are into abusive mindsets. And that was just the backstory. I ended up rushind through large parts of it as it didn't engage.

Great

I wasn't playing to read this book right now. I was going to finish Ashland Pride first. Except I opened up to the first page of Lyric and the Cats and didn't put the book down until I was done. I would recommend this book to others. It was a great read.

Analogues

Interesting how writers use pack/pride dynamics and prejudices to mimicking real life. Wish real life dealt with and solved their problems as well as fictional shifters do.

A good start to a new series!

It is always enjoyable, to me, to read stories about life continuing from a good series! Reading about the next generation of that series is great. Romance, action, and sexy shifters always make for a good read.
