I was so close to getting everything I wanted, an internship with my Uncle, an officer with the special-ops team. If it weren't for a stupid boy that had to go and make me angry, causing me to turn a certain part of his anatomy purple and sparkly, I wouldn't have accidentally revealed to my family what I really was. What I had been hiding. Now, my father is making me attend the school he headmasters, a stuck-up elite academy that will never take a bodysmith like me seriously. Fate may have cursed me with six mate spots to fill, but that doesn't mean I need to tell everyone my true purpose for being at the academy. If I can survive the other petty conduits at the school that think they're queen bee, and hide my own status from everyone, I just might be able to find the six men that I don't really want. They might think I'm inconsequential, but I'm determined to carve out my own happiness, no matter what it takes.
This is the entire four book series in one place, with bonus prologue, epilogue, and added scenes. Smuttiness guaranteed. There is m/m content and this is a slow-building reverse harem which means the main character has more than one love interest and she collects them slowly over the course of the series. You can expect absurdity and humor while reading this, and the inability to put it down. You've been warned.
Kelsey Soliz is a homeschooling mama of four and army wife, and when she's not drinking copious amounts of tea or playing bassoon, she is dreaming up all kinds of romance story scapes or reading them like a maniac.
At the end of the day this was an enjoyable series. The characters were wild and so often wildly hilarious. Some of the drama was outlandish but it worked with the characters and the world they were in. I'm always down for a Nerf battle any day, it's just not something one outgrows!! When the book begins we learn the heroine will have 6 mates. OK, this is easy to process and accept-but holy hell by the end she has 11. Honestly the continual adding of mates just made it so hard to keep things straight especially all her men. (Whom btw are not all st8, so yes there is a whole lot of equal loving going on). There were some in the harem that just did not get enough time and it's unfortunate because they were really interesting. It was easy to process and prepare for six but just as I was thinking I knew who was who and what there power was, there would be someone/'s added and I was lost! At some point when she dances for them, we get so much detail about her outfit and bra yet a few mates barely get their due time. I'm so relieved though that one of her mates is not Braxton because what a douche, wish we got to see him doing horribly in the HEA! The end was cute but it really feels like the plot is finished after book three. Book four is more of an entire extended epilogue and I'm not complaining! I like that it wasn't a totally serious series and as long as you don't nitpick details and are not a prude, this makes for a really great RH read. And now off to read her brother's series!!
I absolutely love RH books and mate bonds. These series have just that.
Balfour is my favourite ❤ and I am angry at Cyrus for non-verbally rejecting her 😤 Jericho is so sweet. "I peek over my shoulder at him, and he tries to smile, but it comes off as a terrifying grimace instead. Which naturally makes my panties a little bit wet because he’s like the epitome of dangerous. Mama likey. Wait. No, we were irritated with him, weren’t we? Gah."
The smut is absolutely top notch🔥 I mean why wouldn't it be with a badass heroine and her 11 mates 😆 "I have no idea what just happened. I’ve been fucked plenty of times by these guys, but that…I don’t even know. He broke the fucking bed. Every girl needs a dicking like that, at least once in her life."
The most hilarious thing was that they get high off release. I mean when the guys eat her out they get high. And when she gives them head she gets high. It's freaking hilarious 😂
I absolutely loved the scene when she gets more marks. "Wait. WHAT? “WHAT THE FUCK???? GET THAT WOMAN BACK IN MY GODS DAMNED MIRROR! NO MORE DICKS! NO! NO! NO! I…FUCK!!! TAKE THEM BACK!!!”"
And when she defeats the Night? The reactions of the guys are absolutely hilarious. "CYRUS: It might be an inappropriate time to feel turned on, but seeing Gabriella glowing and promising death to the Night himself is basically the best thing I’ve ever witnessed. PEARSON: Gabriella’s form transforms more into that kinetic mist stuff that seems to be so popular down here, her maw opening like she’s going to fucking eat him. Oh my gods. She just fucking ate him. JERICHO: Umm. What? PAX: What the hell did I sign up for? Oh, right. A terrifying woman so bent on protecting me she just ate the fucking Night for second breakfast. SHE FUCKING ATE HIM. APOLLO: what the fuck? My wife just consumed my father. I might need therapy after this. ROYCE: Amanda who? No, I don’t know any Amandas. I was mated to…that terrifyingly sexy woman that holyfuckingshit just gulped the most terrifying creature known to man like it was a milkshake. BAL: I have no idea what’s happening. FOSTER: Who the fuck are all these people? PALMER: Yeah, we’re not inviting Apollo’s family over for thanksgiving. This shit is fucked up. Right. So, that just happened. You know, I’m almost kind of seeing the appeal of creating your own epic narration at the moment. Maybe Apollo’s dead dad was onto something. Too soon? GREY: I know my diet consisted of actual blood…but…would it be rude if I asked Gabby to brush her teeth before I kissed her again? DAR: Is it too much to ask for my family to stop consuming weird things?"
These series are absolutely amazing. I would once again definitely reread them. 💙
"Now we get to live out our love story, and I get to become very, very, good at balancing 11 men. Such a lucky bitch."

Okay, while I enjoyed this series overall there was a lot of crazy chaos that made it difficult for me at times.
Cons: They all get high off of orgasms. She off of theirs, they off of hers. It’s supposed to be funny, but turns into a detriment and is chaotic mostly.
There are ELEVEN of them. Starts out six, but add two who are MALE conduits so they’re extra, then it’s eight, then the bad guy’s son gets soul bonded and there’s just so flippin’ many of them.
The bad guy is ridiculous, the high stakes don’t seem to matter because no one really takes it seriously, the ‘threat’ doesn’t ever touch her until the confrontation and when it comes down to it, she just eats him and its over.
The council - another potential bad guy - is corrupt and lazy so they just take over in the same scene the council is introduced in because she is chosen by the goddess and is Conduit Supreme and immortal and then they all have office sex shenanigans for the rest of the series.
Pros: Even though there are ELEVEN men in her harem I didn’t get them mixed up. Even Palmer and Pearson whose names are similar enough to fuzz my brain. Normally that’s all it takes. The author is very adept at making each man their own person with their own thing and bond with her.
Each one gets their own beginning, first ‘I love you’ statement, and secondary bonding ceremony. They all get married in a big group ceremony, but still have little one-on-one moments that help keep them separate instead of just one man with many faces that most RIDICULOUSLY LARGE harems devolve into.

So I really wanna climb inside Kelsey’s brain and just hang out a while. Her imagination is OFF the charts. This series!? So good. 😊 I love the way it started off. Gabby is just a normal everyday girl with a plan for her future. She’s faced and bypassed prejudging her race and takes no crap from anyone. When she’s outed and her father insists she goes to Hemlock to find her mates she’s disappointed it she embraces the opportunity and experiences. I love her relationship with her father, I wish there had been more interaction between them but I suppose he played his role until it was done. I was sitting on my pulling my hair as mate after mate was revealed. Wowza idk how she pulls that off! lol the series did get a little slow about halfway through the third book, but I skimmed and got back to the action. I’m kinda sad that the addition of “new” family members came so late, I would have loved to see how they all interacted together. It’s a great series. Lots of spice, and I mean LOTS. Some MM, not a lot on page but it’s talked about and referenced. Good action and great world building. You won’t regret getting this one!
This was a pretty great collection to read. There wasn't much drama, the guys were pretty much adorable, it wasn't dark... it's a bit of a change of pace for me and I enjoyed it! The only reason I took a star off is because there were quite a few spelling mistakes. If there's less than 5, even 10, I won't bother, but there was definitely more than that. It didn't make it hard to read, like some books with bad editing - it wasn't BRUTAL by any means. Just enough to knock the review down a bit.
The ending seemed to go on a bit long at one point, but it was still sweet. It's a bit weird that it gives the FMC's mom a chapter to speak, but then never talks about what happened to her after ever again, particularly since her daughter (SPOILER ALERT) becomes the most powerful person around, basically, and betrayed her and her mates. I'd love to know how miserable Braxton is too, I wish they had mentioned him at the wedding rehearsal.
Still - a good read, and one I'm sure I'll read again in the future. :)
There are some series that are so good, you can't just borrow them, you need to own them. This is one. It ranks right up there with Kit Davenport, and the Cupidity series which PNR RH readers know as the gold standard for the genre. This series has everything you want with one of my favorite heroines to top it off. She is funny and confident and powerful. The heat level is off the charts. If you have a favorite mate type, she's got one. It's shifters and vampires and mermaids, oh my! And they are goofy and funny and completely open about how Gabby is their queen. She collects mates slow enough that you get a sense of all of them and their relationships feel real and unique. And the box set has a bunch of extra scenes including some bonus HEA pages that I just love. If you are looking for reviews to see if this is worth your time or money......YES!!!
I really enjoyed the first two books, but overall, the series was a solid 3. The rating would have been higher if there was better editing and some rework. Some conversations were hard to follow with who was speaking. Some parts were very disjointed, making it seem bit spazzy with how it seemed to skip around so much. I also wish the M/M would have been must stronger throughout, rather than mostly in the last 13%, and not just 'well, there are 11 of us and 1 of her, so a mouth is a mouth!'.
The 'after effects' were hilarious in the beginning, especially to see how each guy reacted, but the schtick was over done, and it got old FAST.
Somehow the author created a 12 person RH and I could keep all 11 men separate, which is a FEAT! I appreciated how each man had a different set of skills and magical abilities. I wish the personalities and maturity levels were a little more distinguished, especially for the older mates.
This book is freaking hilarious!!! The story is well thought out and the sexy scenes are cool. The major issue that I had that almost stopped me from reading this series is the lack of better editing. There are multiple scenes throughout the series where you kind of have to reread to understand due to spelling errors, missing words, and wrong (or no) punctuation. At times it's not clear as to who is speaking, whether it's just two people in the scene or more. During the sexy scenes (not all but enough), it was hard to understand what was going where and how. It was confusing. But, as I stated earlier, this book had me in TEARS of laughter. It's one of my top funniest books I've read to date, and that's what kept me reading. If not for those moments of hilarity, I wouldn't have finished half of the first book.
Initially I liked this series very much, the storyline seemed to be developing nicely as we came to understand the unique qualities of the main character. (Her powers, a bit of her status and how the mates work). The relationships and attraction had a chance to develop and I was invested in see how the relationships would grow and develop. I think by the 3rd book the romance started to loose it’s luster for me, mates were being added too quickly with no real emotional connection often. (I can’t remember which book this happened in exactly because I worked through them all back to back)
By the end, I was glad to see how the story concluded but RH or not or I want there to be some genuine connections built in all of the relationships and I just didn’t get that with so many mates added the way that they were. A few of the mates fulfilled this but several others didn’t in my opinion.
This wasn't a bad series. There were parts I really enjoyed but the lack of editing and worldbuilding really dragged this down for me.
Lots of little editing errors, like consumer of the KNIGHT not NIGHT but some big continuity errors were there as well, like when it stated during the vamp trial that they couldn't turn people but later on Gray said he could turn her it just took more steps. That kind of stuff.
So with a good editor, I'd put this series at 3 stars.
Honestly though, the 4th book really felt squeezed in. Since the conflict with the Night was so underwhelming, it really felt like the HFN bit could have been squeezed into book 3. In my opinion the whole thing about having to save the Goddess felt super out of place and forced. It really felt like the whole book existed as a way to introduce Bennet's own series and not as a true continuation of Hemlock.
Okay so I chose to read these books because the first blurb sounded like it would funny and that’s what I wanted just a light hearted funny book and that’s exactly what I got. Now the only reason for the 4 stars is just that eleven in a harem is too much for me. If you like larger harems you will love this book. I personally feel like I don’t get to see enough character and povs from the guys when there are so many. I personally wanted more about pax and unfortunately there just was no room because of how many other characters there were. The fourth book wasn’t really needed after defeating the night other than to fix her bonds but I still liked it and it made me laugh
I enjoyed the story and read except for what seemed kind of slimy with the almost rapey level of manipulative homosexual aspects. You have a main character who has magic to make everyone around her be overcome with lust, a male whos more into men who has magic of persuasion manipulation, and a bunch of very straight dudes being manipulated into being okay with being with dudes once this guy starts working at them. If they had started bi, fine, but it being what seemed like a magical manipulation to make them be into it to coerce their cooperation they end up suddenly liking I didn’t like. It came across way too much like getting people drunk until they said yes.
This series had such great potential to be so good. Unfortunately, every time the plot started to pick up and things got interesting it was just completely glossed over for smut. And don’t get me wrong, I loooooovvvveeeee smut, the smuttier the better, but this just made me so sad. There were things I actually Wanted to read about, like Bal and Foster meeting for the first time that she just completely skipped. And the dialogue. It was soooo hard to follow. She never tags who’s talking so half the time you have to guess at who is saying what. I only kept reading because what was there of the plot made me want to know what happened. But I basically just kinda skimmed through.
OMG I stumbled onto this series and never looked back. I was all in for the ride with Gabriella and the guys. Gabby was a great MC and her reactions to her own life changes and challenges were absolutely great. I laughed at so many aspects of this book, had a moment or two of angst, there was just the right amount of sizzle if you consider other-the-top just enough. wink wink. Loved all of the guys and their post high quirks. So much more to explore even after 4 books. I think the crazy train doesn't stop for them and what their future holds. Hint Hint author - maybe a bonus novella knowing how you teased at the end.
Detailed reviews posted with each individual book. I made it 74% through the omnibus before quitting after book 3. --- Ratings - abandoned series: #1 First Addition: ★★★★☆ #2 Second Glances: ★★★☆☆ #3 Three to Find: ★★☆☆☆
I honestly don’t even know if I have the words to describe the absolute perfection that is the Hemlock Academy series. Kelsey knocked it out of the park and I can’t wait to dive into Bennett’s series next. If you’re on the fence about reading this series do us both a favor and jump off with both feet. You won’t regret meeting Gabby and her men and falling in love with their story like I did.
Amazing read. It took a couple of chapters to get into the feel of the book, but then the story clicked and it was fantastic. I loved how Gabriella’s character developed with the addition of all her men. The guys all had their own strengths and they fit so well together. The entire book was packed full of action, fornication (will this word pass the test?), and amazing lol verbiage when you least expect it but fits so well.
I literally got mad if someone called me and I had to lay it down. Kelsey Soliz is now one of my favorite authors. I started with Broken Wolf.... Amazing but it wasn't enough. I jumped right into Hemlock Academy. Finding her mates, I loved every meeting, the sex highs were some of the funniest shit I've read. I also cried my eyes out. Now I'm gonna go read about her brother cause the meet cute at the end of this hooked me.
Hmm. I kind of did a full 360 on this series. I almost put it down multiple times in book 1 before I finally started getting into to. By book 2 I was really enjoying the series and book 3 had some great moments in it. Everything came crashing down in book 4 though and I went back to contemplating DNFing it. The author definitely should have just ended it with book 3. Book 4 was just unnecessary drama after the original story arc was already complete.
So, I guess I liked it. But I don't think I'll ever reread these books and I don't have a burning desire to read anything more from this author.
So I started with the walkin territory series realized this came first, so I stopped midway through the series and read this series, not putting it down until I finished it. Now I’m going back to the walking territory series to finish it. If you like reverse harem and comedy, you will love this author and their works. They are definitely added to my favourite lists. Can’t wait to continue reading more works from the author
What can I say?? So many books, so few hours in the day!! Dangit!! Now I am gonna have to read the rest of her books! I do tiktok reviews on books! Darknessinthelite on tiktok. Thank you so much kelsey soliz for writing this! You are my favorite writer for 2024!(I choose 1 fave per year) I know you don't care lol but i really loved this series! - Leia
This was a reread for me and I had forgotten just how great it was.
This was the original series that got me hooked onto Kelsey Soliz. The spice, the plot, the humor. It’s got everything. And while’s it’s also a really sweet read, Gabriella and her mates really have a tough road to getting where they need to be. You’ll laugh and cry, but you will enjoy every moment.
The antics and banter were well done- juvenile but in a good way not in a “I just read a book written by a child” way. The characters were enjoyable, the spice was hot. I actually finished the series and didn’t get bored. I will say book 4 was a bit of a throwaway for me- reads like a really long epilogue, but I understand that many readers need that little bit extra when they love the characters.
This was a pretty good series, mostly light hearted despite some serious undertones. The main characters were enjoyable. Some of the dialogue was cheesy and dragged in some places. And the view points from the secondary characters weren’t necessary and took me out of the book and relationships. But I still enjoyed the series.
Ok so I like the plot of the story. But this book was a little bit of a mess. Plot lines jump all over the place. Characters get mixed up. With this many people in the plot the timeline needs to be perfect. Unfortunately this book needs a proofreader and and editor to fix it.
This was definitely one of my best reads of 2022. It sucked me in from the beginning. I loved how Gabriella grew throughout the story with her men. It wasn’t too dreadful enough spice to keep the book worth reading. The typo errors were a bit cringe worthy but something I could look past. The book is a 10/10 for me.
Just finished reading this series for the first time. It’s so good that I plan on buying it for my library. There are so many really funny parts almost wet myself laughing. For a reverse harem series it has so many and they fit so well together. If haven’t read do so
I absolutely adored this series. It had so much drama but in the best way. Sometimes it is just really nice to read a book that is RH that doesn't have any heavy themes.
I will admit this harem is pretttty big and I didn't know how we would get to know each of the characters but it was done so well and I laughed so much. It is an awesome, feel good read.
I loved all these books, I read them individually when they first came out except the last one. I’m so glad I waited for the Omnibus to come out, so I could read them all over again so I knew what I was getting into with the last one. As each book goes, the spiciness gets hotter and hotter… loved loved this series!
