The Syndicate Academy #1

Corrupt Educator

Rate this book
He’s hiding a dark secret, one that will change my life forever.

I shouldn’t be here.

Forced to move school partway through my senior year.

The Syndicate Academy is the embodiment of everything I hate.

An academy for heirs of tyrants like my parents.

I hate it here, except for one part, Principal Oakley Byrne.

The most gorgeous man I’ve ever met, with piercing aquamarine eyes.

He’s dark, brooding, and not your average Principal.

I’m drawn to him by a magnetic force, but I repel him.

Despite his cold treatment, I can’t help but tempt the beast to come out to play.

An action I’ll soon regret.

This man hides dark secrets behind his walls.

Secrets that could destroy my family and me.

They say all is fair in love and war.

I can’t be a part of a war I never knew existed.

He intends to devour me whole and spit me out, leaving my world in tatters.

The question is, will I survive his wrath?

Corrupt Educator is the first book in the Syndicate Academy Series. This book can be read as a standalone and has a happily ever after ending. This story has dark themes, hot scenes, violence, content some readers may find upsetting, and bad language.

STORY:
WHAT I LIKED:
This was forbidden, taboo with an age gap romance. This is student/teacher 18/32. I found myself enjoying this as the story with Eva and Oak builds as well as the foundation is building for the books to come within the series. Oak was brought up mafia but does not associate with it, while Eva is a mafia princess who is rebelling against her future that her parents has planned for her. This whole story took place at the Syndicate Academy and I like the way the author did this with your not so typical subjects and school. Oak is the principal/ teacher and Eva the student. The build up to their intense affair was good. Sometimes, that’s good for me because it gets you worked up and invested in the affair. The anxiety I felt sometimes while reading, was trying to figure out how they will get caught and by whom. Oak was slowly becoming obsessive and possessive over Eva, that it drove him mad. I also liked that Oak stayed in character in the sense that he wasn’t mimicking a teenager but an authoritative persona.

WHAT WAS SO SO:
There wasn’t hardcore mafia action. It’s a school for kids with mafia families, but still had mafia content and connections. Prior to Eva and Oak’s sexual affair, he would punish her and I felt this for me dragged on a bit. I understand it was a big part to their build up and what initiate their affair. The big premise of the story was Oak’s revenge, the revenge did not have a long or strong life line. Once Oak had a taste of Eva, the revenge was forgotten. I thought even though he craved Eva, this would be fueling him as well.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY
These 2 had an age gap, but their affair was intense. Their sex scenes were good.. Consist of spanking, spitting, throat grabbing, anal, and doing it where ever. Oak was insatiable especially in the classrooms.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I love the secondary characters and it’s predominantly why I enjoyed this story. Eva’s good friends at the school, we saw little scenes here and there with teasers of who will be paired with who. I was arguing with myself with whose story I wanted next. We will be getting Elias, the school bully and Natalya, Eva’s good friend. I am also excited for Camilla’s story and more excited who she will be paired up with. I get a sense he is twisted and I want to see this not just have it talked about. Adrianna, not sure who will be for her but excited nonetheless.

OVERALL:
Was I entertained? Yes. Did I like the story? Yes. Would I read the other books in the series? Yes and looking forward to it.

TRIGGERS: teacher/student affair can be triggering, assault, bullying and violence.

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

3 DNF attempts **SPOILERS**

DNF#1 @ 20% partly due to meh writing/S chem/emo, despite 30s former Irish mafia-leader H's revenge plans involving 18yo virgin daughter h of cruel mafia parents who were to blame for burning his company & as a result his employee (who he only realized after she died that he was in love with). But at 20% didn't like the creepy-perv vibe of now-principal H towards his new student h.

I like creepy & even pervy age-gap romances but it's gotta be romantic or, at the least, sexy. This was neither. For someone who owned an expensive private school for mafia kids & was its school principal for 5 years, H was very inappropriate with h. And was even quite public about insisting she call him his 1st name (Oak) instead of her respectful "sir" since her "sir"s kept giving him an erection. After she was hospitalized from being stabbed by 1 of 3 female students who bullied her the 1st/2nd day of school, he insisted of helping her put her clothes--undies & all.

DNF#2 @ 25% coz H proved to be a creepy perv for deliberately keeping h in his classroom after class to make her finish the quiz while he took his peen out of his pants & masturbated while watching her (who was on crutches from being stabbed by another student a few days before) & then spewing under his desk.

I kept reading more to see if any chance of romance/character development/emotional chemistry but...

Final DNF @ 35% due to:
1.) inconsistent characterization of h as virgin-innocent and would switch to a mouthy martial-arts-aficionado who deflected 3 girls but got stabbed on her leg anyway & egged on a known psychopath male student.
2.) inconsistent plot/logic with h feeling uncomfortable & even telling H how inappropriate he's being the many times he'd lock her in with him & spank her & touching or almost-touching her privates and later wondering if what H did “bordered on sexual” or if he liked her.
3.) despite the sexual situations/words/dialogue, it still lacked sexual-emotional chemistry that leads to romance. It was just sexual perversion. H was secretly grooming/training h to get used to his BDSM preferences by supposedly punishing her for school insubordination. Hence, the ruler- and hand-spankings he'd give her on her butt and even her vaj daily (even when she was still healing from her stab wound) since she wouldn't admit to lying about not having an affair with the janitor of her former school, which he knew was a lie since he was the 1 to Photoshop the photo that showed her with the school janitor. His POV even admitted to how he was forcing her to lie about the photo he doctored. He was a creep.

1 word I kept repeating while reading was “stupid”. I kept hoping things would turn around somehow but it never did. It just got worse, as H's sexual-grooming of h seemed to work in his favor. It just felt creepy in a non-sexy way.

Sexual History—18yo virgin h was too focused on her studies to become a vet to take an interest in boys & dating. Not sure if she's ever been kissed but she did have a vibrator for her sexual needs. H was attracted to 1 of his employees (OW) who worked for him for years. He only realized he was in love with her after she died from the fire. They never dated or even touched or kissed. At meeting h 5 years alter, H was still reeling from the death of OW

REVIEW
This book had great potential , I mean mafia and revenge plot is awesome than mix some mafia school where they teach you all about mafia and how to became a great capo , Pakhan and more.
So our hero who was an famous CEO of an frim , lost his company in one night and than started a school for mafia children to become leaders and our heroine after an false rumor was sent to this Syndicate Academy for discipline and other abilities which will help her to emerge in mafia life.
The revenge part was great as hero who is an principle got his chance to get revenge from heroine's family through her. The whole school setup was great and author also put some hints about next books in this series. It was an enjoyable read for me. It had all the tropes I love.
Age gap
Student Principle
Mafia
Boarding school

P.S Can't wait for Ach and Gav book....especially Gav.

Oh my God! I had so much fun reading it!
They were inappropriate since they met but kept going every chapter asking "Isn't this a little inappropriate?"
I loved the set-up of screwed up academy for mafia-kids as well as all the crumbs of next couples.
The book had small inconstancies and typos but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I thought that this was a very tempting read. The story was engaging and held my attention well. The writing was solid and the characters intriguing. The chemistry was steamy and the tension juicy! I felt very invested in this couple as their relationship evolved and the storyline unfolded with some very enticing twists. If this book is a good indicator, I really look forward to many more entries in this deliciously dark and hot series. This is my volitional, forthright review.

This book was incredible!! I loved the story between Oak and Eva. What starts as revenge becomes an amazing story of two broken people coming together. Eva and Oak are so hot! Plenty of steam and chemistry between them. And I really liked the friendship between Eva and her friends (and I am looking forward to reading their stories). Absolutely terrific!

Am so addicted to this series although I started with the second book, Cruel Bully and loving that one it made me want to start (again ;)) from the beginning, Oak and Eva's story and it was another captivating, hot, steamy dark romance with a little taboo thrown in for your special reading pleasure.

The author has given us a dark story that pulls us into the lives of Brett/Oak and Eva and does not let go. For five years, Oak has planned his revenge on the Carmichael Family and it is finally within his grasp. That is, until he realizes that Eva is nothing like he expected. The story keeps us turning the pages with secrets, danger and love.

Based off the reviews, I was expecting some great dialogue, witty banter and a slow burn romance. However, that was not the case. It was still a good story, entertaining, easy to read and couldn't wait to see what happened next. I just was not expecting the mass amounts of sex scenes. They were hot and the couple had great chemistry, but I did find myself skipping over paragraphs at a time to get to the dialogue.

I liked the crime aspects, but this was a bit watered down and enhanced at the strangest times. Overall a decent read but not mind blowing.

And a corrupt educator he was

Oakley had everything going for him until adversaries wanted him to utilise his skills for underhanded business, when he refused, they took everything from him, including the woman he loved, but didn’t tell, the only thing he focused on from there on out was revenge, reinventing himself, he disappeared, putting his plan in motion.

Five years later

Eva is accused of something she didn’t do, vehemently denying any wrong doing, her parents send her to The Syndicate Academy, to learn what there is to know, for one day she will take over from her father, this one thing she doesn’t want, for she has her own plans, a future she wants to forge on her own merits, but know that will not happens under her fathers thumb.

Not long after her arrival she it attacked and injured, through no fault of her own, but she was warned, for her own safety, when Principal Byrne intercedes on her behalf, there’s an instant connection.

That connection is taken up a notch when Principal Byrne subjects Eva to deliciously naughty punishments at his hands, literally, to teach her lessons in obedience, his control on a thin wire, ready to snap.

Eva feels something for Oakley, she asks him if he feels the same in return, he lets her down, because he knows nothing can come from it, he’s the Principal and she’s the student, but he has no choice to deny his feelings, for she is the pawn in his plan to get back at her parents.

As Oakley and Eva begin to learn about each other, Oakley learns that Eva is nothing like her parents, that she didn’t want to be at the Academy, that this is not the life she wants, but a life she wants to forge for herself to become a veterinarian, Oakley begins to have second thoughts of his plan to seek vengeance, but his friends put him back on him path of righteousness.

Oakley can no longer deny his feelings for Eva, and she him, and in one white hot moment they give into each other, claiming her virtue in a night of hot unbridled searing passion. Eva test’s Oakley’s control at every turn, making him jealous and possessive but he always gets his way.

And then in one moment everything changes when Eva learns the truth, about why she’s at the Academy, who Oakley really is and the reason why he is doing what he is doing, but that all changes when he admits that he loves her and that she loves him, and the only way she can get the future she wants is by marrying Oakley in secret.

When her parents show up they try to force her hand, only it’s there hand she forces and in the ensuing chaos her mother becomes collateral damage, much to her fathers distaste. When school resumes Principal Byrne has no choice but to come clean about the events that ensued, raising some eyebrows respectively.

Oakley returns home with Eva by his side, ready to face his past, only to learn that his father, brother and sister have lost there life in an accident, Eva comforts him in his time of need, but knows that what happened was out of his control, with Eva by his side he finally has a future to look forward to with the woman he loves.

This story is told from different POV, it will take you on a wild ride, having you turn page after page. This book had me from beginning to end, it told a telling story, this author definitely knows how to write.

This book has it all student/ teacher romance, forbidden, passion, roller coaster of emotions, drama, action, friendship, family, love, loyalty, acceptance, jealousy, madness, mayhem, intrigue, revenge, violence, adrenaline seeking suspense, twists, turns, truths.

Reading this story, it enables the readers to really connect with the characters, and as the story unfolds the readers see the development and growth from the characters singularly and together.

And those s*x scenes including those BDSM elements were steamy, yet sensual, dirty, hot, intense, physical, provocative, it had all the angry angst, hate, pleasure and passion one would except. Oakley aims to give Eva the pleasure she deserves, his possessive and obsessive need for control and dominance, it was off the charts and had all of the feels.

Eva’s relationship with Oakley grows in strength, their trust in each other building, but they work together in there own way, because nothing and no one will get between Eva and her alpha dominating, controlling, yet overly possessive husband. She loves him and he loves her, regardless of all their differences, because they are in this together, their happily ever after, both getting the happiness they deserve.

Corrupt Educator is the first installment in the Syndicate Academy Series. This book can be read as a standalone and it guarantees a HEA. It's dark, twisted, hot scenes, bad languages, with some violence and contains content that may be triggering for some readers. The story was brilliantly written with extraordinary characters and pulls me in from the first chapter until the end. It was utterly addictive and captivating. The story was revenge driven. It's about Oakley and Eva. It contains multiple tropes age gap, forbidden romance, principal/student relationship, hate-to-love, enemies-to-lovers, tension, hatred, secrets, deception, passion, power spanking, play, steam, mystery, attraction, violence, revenge, throat play, danger, action, and love. Oakley was raised in the mafia life but does not have anything to do with life anymore.
Eva was sent to the train so that she can join her family's criminal organization. But Eva doesn't want any part of it, in fact she plan on never going home because of the abuse. Oakley hates her family because of what they took away from him. The scenes was erotic, libidinous, intense, and sexplosive. They chemistry were magnetic. He meant to use her against her family but he was drawn to her and they couldn't stay away from each other so his plans backfired because he ended falling in love. But what will they do when her family finds out? Will it start a war between Oakley and the Carmichael's? I can't wait for the next book in the series this is a good start.

Not Bad but a little disappointed.

Had high hopes for this one, but somewhere along the way I ended up little disappointed. Techinallly, there were two glaring errors...3-4 pages repeated in two different sections of the book.

The story itself starts out great, setting the stage for the MMC's conflict with the MFC's parents and his need for revenge. She also has issues with her parents. They have no love or use for her except to marry her to someone who can take over their criminal organization....a world she wants no part of. When they receive a photo shopped picture of her supposedly kissing the school janitor, they don't believe her innocence. They remove her from her school, sending her to the Syndicate Acadermy, a school for the sons and daughters of the world's wealthiest criminals run by the MMC...providing him the means for his revenge.

There are so many places this could have gone...conflict and danger with her family, conflicts with the girls who attacked her on her first night at the academy or any of the other students; even conflict with his own family finding him. But no...instead, it goes solely to the relationship and his dark desires as the fall in love. And yes, this is dark, a bit of s/m...I can hurt you but no one else can. The problem with that, for me, is...it went just a bit overboard... too much of it; especially because I just wasn't "feeling" it. I found myself skimming through parts to get to the end.

And in the end, when her parents finally do come back into the picture, it was too little, too late and wrapped up way to easily in my opinion. 3.5 stars

TROPES: principal/student, mafia, forbidden, revenge plot, age gap

Okay listen… the writing in this was, just not very well structured. There was so much potential and it just fell so flat. There was way too many grammatical errors, sentences that made NO SENSE, missing context in some sentences & just overall not very well edited/written. It was very repetitive & I just felt like screaming WE GET IT now find some new words/sayings to use. Normally I don’t mind a few mishaps because they happen, but this was where it just got frustrating. I mean there were so many mistypes for the principles last name I couldn’t figure out if it was supposed to be Bryne or Byrne?!

Putting that aside, the plot had a solid foundation but the pacing was way off. I also didn’t appreciate that from the beginning and through the whole book it’s brought up about this other woman he loved which is one of the reasons he’s getting revenge and blah blah blah. Like I DO NOT CARE. I don’t want to read about his “cosmic pull” to another woman who’s not the heroine, it just diminished the love story for me.

The climax/conflict was dealt with way too damn fast, like a matter of 3 pages & the heroine just immediately jumped in to agree to marry him…. Like WHAT?!

Did I continue this book because of the spice? Yes I did because that was actually done well & it was hot.

Oak has one goal in life and that is to destroy the Carmichael family because they have taken everything from him. Once he purchase the Syndicate Academy his focus was making sure Eva Carmichael was sent their so he could use her to get back at her parents.

Eva has no desire to be part of her families business and she is senior and getting ready to finish school and become a vet. When a photo surfaces and her parents force her to the Academy she has no idea how she’s going to survive these 7 months.

When she arrives and meets Oak, the very sexy and very powerful principal of the Academy she doesn’t know what to do with these new feelings she has that is coursing through her body. She’s a virgin and has never even kissed a boy but the feelings and urges she has around Oak is something she can’t deny!

Oak can’t stop thinking about Eva and he can’t stop his need for her. Every time she is near he can’t bring himself to stop thinking/wanting her as well as finding someway to touch her.

This story is filled with lust, need, sexiness, and love. Their story is unique and bit unorthodox but the commitment and dedication to each is other is powerful and intense. You will enjoy this book immensely and this series is going to be just as unforgettable as Bianca’s other series. Happy Reading!

Great story.

Wow! Oak & Eva's story had me glued to my kindle I struggled to put it down. Oak's perfectly prepared plan to exact his revenge on the Charmichael family takes a drastic turn when he meets their daughter Eva who he plans use to make the family pay for killing the woman he loved. Eva already hates her parents & wants nothing to do with the family business of crime & murder but when they send her away to a new school Eva finds out that not do they hate her but they are determined this school for Cartel & Mafia family will force her into it.
Eva's life of pain starts from the minute she gets there meeting the head of the school Oak but the hated between them soon takes a 360 which sees them having a dangerous love hate relationship on a whole different level.
This story hot & steamy on steroids, has some great friends but also dangerous enemies, drama, a deep understanding of loss for both of them & Oak's painful past & secrets but even though they should never be together they are perfect for each other.
I can't wait to read Elias & Natalya's story in Cruel Bully.

After having his life’s work destroyed by the Carmichael family for refusing to pay protection money, Archer reinvents himself as Oakley, the principal of the Syndicate Academy. A dark and harsh school that teaches the children from mob families of every type, it teaches them how to be better criminals, how to not get caught. The mob conflicts in the outside world sometimes interfere with the students lives, but that criminals for you.
When Eva Carmichael is sent to the Academy under duress by her parents, as she wants nothing to do with this world, Oak has every intention of using her to get his revenge on her parents. Until he meets Eva that is…
This was a fantastic read to kick off a new, dark and gritty series.
It’s well written and the characters have depth. The relationships are believable and the girls friendship, taking Eva in as one of them is a great way to find out more about other students. Eva and Oak’s relationship is hot, steamy and passionate. Despite their age gap, they simply get each other. Brilliant.

This book was just so bad. I tried to read it, but had to dnf @ 21%.I wanted to like this one, I had some pretty good expectations for it, but it fell way way short of anything that I can even finish reading.

The wrigint was just so terrible. There was no depth, there was no emotion to anything, especially between the characters. I should have suspected a problem in chapter one when MMC "realizes" he was in love with his former employee only after she died. This is, of course, despite never having dated, slept with, or even kiseed this woman. There was some chemistry there, so it was automatically love?

It wasn't until after the scene in the classroom where she is stuck late and he jacks off under the desk that I had to Nope on out. I'm not even feeling the attraction between them much less any emotional connection. It was so flat and boring.

I will not finish this one, will not recommend it, and will not read any others in the series.
Seriously, how does it get to a series when it is no better than what I would write in elementary school?

Oak is set on a course for vengeance against the Carmichaels after they burn his company to the ground. He plans to use their only child Bianca as an instrument of revenge only when Eva comes to the Syndicate Academy he has a different reaction to her than the one he was expecting. The two of them are attracted to each other and their chemistry is powerful they can't fight it. The more time Oak spends with Eva he realizes that she's nothing like he expected and the thought of using her doesn't sit right with him anymore she's nothing like her horrible parents. You really need to read this deliciously dark story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Oak is hellbent on revenge after the Carmichael Clan takes everything from him. Soon his plan is in motion but is quickly derailed when he realizes that his revenge ca hurt someone he loves. Eva is dumbfounded when her parents send her to the Syndicate Academy she vows never to return home again. She quickly learns that SA is brutal and her undeniable attraction to Principal Byrne can only lead to more trouble. I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were well written but the story was more focused on the sexual relationship of the two main characters. I do feel that the story was not smooth. I had a lot of unanswered questions. Also if the story takes place in America the terminology did not match, we do not use the term 'jumper' when speaking of a sweater.

I really liked Oak/Brett and Eva's book! These characters were well developed, compelling, and Oak may be the hottest principal ever. Oak is determined to get revenge against the Carmichael family and one would think by ruining their only child, daughter, and heir, Eva would be the perfect avenue for that destruction. But, Eva is not the typical entitled mafia princess. Her parents physically abuse her, treat her like crap, she wants nothing to do with the family "business" at all. She is beautiful, kind, smart, compassionate, and pure. She is also Oak's kyptonite. This story has twists, turns, sizzle, steam, action, and a surprise or two. I look forward to more in this series and with your KU subscription, the series is free to read. Great start to The Syndicate Academy series by Bianca Cole.

Oak is out for revenge and plans to use the daughter of the family he wants to hurt the most. Eva is completely different from her family and not what Oak was expecting. Oak is the principal at the school Eva is going to and wants to use his position to ruin the young woman. However, after meeting her and seeing how she is Oak starts wondering if his plan is a good one. Eva wants nothing to do with her family and has no plans to ever see them again. Sparks fly between her and Oak whenever they are around each other. Will Oak see that Eva is as much a victim of her family as he is? Will she forgive Oak, his deceit?

This is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Wow I loved this book it wasn't over the top Mafia though there was afew scenes where some kids get a little kill happy I guess that's what happens when you put a bunch of young mafia, cartel and even bratva kids in the same spot and syndicate academy is the perfect place to knock off any future leaders before they have a chance.
Eva and Oak just smolder off the pages the instant chemistry they have on their first meeting even though Oak knows the real reason she is thrust into having to attend the academy is page turning I couldn't read this book fast enough.
I'm so glad that the ending was in their favour and now this book has paved the way for a few other students I'm sure lol. A great age gap story.

Oak’s has a need for revenge and his plotting against the Carmichael family brings Eva into his life. He never expects the immediate attraction to his student and make sure he personally handles her, completely changing his plans. The school is for future mafia leadership training so the rules are very different there. Oak and Eva get pretty filthy together in all the best ways. His plan will eventually come back to bite him and secrets do not stay that way when you get careless. Her parents are awful people—her Christmas story is horrible but a great example— though we see one isn’t quite as awful as the other. I am looking forward to Natalya and Elias.

I’m trying to learn romance.io and I found this book. I was in a mood for all the sex since the last book I read ended on a fade to black. This book does have a lot of sex in it, but I’m not sure if the author has sex. If they have I’m think they are a man. The whole story was a little too instant. Perfect matching of kinks with zero negotiation. Quickly giving up on planned revenge of over five years of work.

One odd little issue annoyed me. One student kills another as their fathers are having a terf war back home. I can’t imagine that any organized crime people sending their child to a place that isn’t a sanctuary.

All in all the plot is a little hinkey, the sex borders on bad female biology, and I DNFed at 54%.

Eva & Oak’s story was hot, steamy and forbidden. For the most part I enjoyed it, but it seemed to drag on in parts and at other parts it felt like something was missing. I would’ve expected Eva to have been angry and feel more betrayed when she learned the truth. And I thought after hearing one of Oak’s main reason for revenge was because her parents killed the only woman he loved, I thought she’d have questions and I don’t know feel a little jealousy being told that. But within five seconds she was happily agreeing to marry him.
Both main characters were really likable and I really enjoyed Eva’s sarcastic remarks in the beginning.
All in all, not a bad read, just got a little boring at times.

Corrupt Educator by Bianca Cole is Book 1 of The Syndicate Academy Series. This is the story of Eva and Oak. Eva is a 18 year old women who is at the Syndicate Academy where most mafia families send their kids. Eva is a Mafia Princess who does want to be and rebels against her family because of the future they are trying to put on her. Oak is a 32 year old former associate in the mafia but now works to be a Principle / teacher at the Academy. These two butt heads from the start with him seeming to be hard on her and Eva giving him attitude right back. But they both feel the attraction to the other. This was a good Student / teach type romance with the older man underline.
