4 The Results of Kindness Stars ⭐
Just beautiful. I might have gone a little gaga for this heartfelt novella. A single dad fireman, a traumatized child and an abused pregnant widower. So many stereotype tropes done romantically well. I think the steam you don't expect was fabulous. Grab your latte and enjoy!
For years Lily De Castro has endured a loveless marriage. Now alone and pregnant she has found herself destitute. Yet when she reaches out to the fireman to thank him for saving her life, it's by coincidence that Logan needs a nanny and Lily is desperate for work.
Their arrangement shouldn't have worked so well, but both Lily and Logan are exactly what the other needs. With Logan's daughter Hazel in dire need of a mother figure, I was smiling at how sweet this entire scenario was.
“She really does recognize my voice, doesn’t she?”
“Yes, I think so.” Lily smiled at him as he kissed her belly again.
“I can’t wait to meet you, baby,” he murmured against her belly. “I bet you’ll be as pretty and sweet as your mama.”
These three were perfect especially because Logan opens his home and helps with the last trimester of Lily's pregnancy. It must be said that pregnancy sex has never seemed sexier! A Home for Lily was a delightful, feelgood second chance romance. It’s perfect for the hopeless romantics out there.

When hero reconsiders hiring her because she’s six months pregnant, she leaves, limping to go to the bus. Was it raining? I can’t remember, but it should have been.
Guess who? The hero.
Woof.
No, there is no puppy in the book, but who cares. The H calls his daughter “baby bug”. Sweet.
Poor Hazel aka baby bug.
Anyhoo, the h becomes the nanny and helps the traumatized, motherless little girl get better, and LUSTS after the H. Honestly, lust is the mildest word I can call it.
The hero is insanely sweet and supportive and loving..Fictitious is right!
Can I repeat how incredibly sweet and totally made up the big hunky fireman hero is because all men lust after women 8 3/4 pregnant like they are Playboy models, and they, the pregnant women, are correspondingly responsive. He’s such a good guy he generously has sex with her to hurry along labor. What a mensch, And, yes, that actually is a thing.
The H gets a little high-handed, and the heroine gets a little stupid, but all in all sweetness and light like cookies burning in the oven the way the H cooks.

The premise was very promising yet I can’t say that I enjoyed this story.
Logan and Lily probably belonged to another realm, hence birds of a feather flock together...
Hazel - Logan’s 4 y.o. daughter - was a sweetheart.
The writing style was poor and not compelling, the execution deficient and most of characters’ behaviours were not appealing.
When Lily was widowed and left with nothing, she was hired by Logan as a live-in nanny to look after his little girl. Logan was a widower also.
❗️Is it right thinking to hire a pregnant lady for a live-in nanny?... 🤷🏻♀️
❗️Lily’s abusive husband died in a car accident and her parents-in-law wanted to buy from her their yet unborn grandchild.
❗️Logan asked Lily to a avoid any communication with them because he was concerned of her and the baby’s safety. Lily, though, secretly met with her parents-in-law in Logan’s house when he was absent. When he found out, he demanded that Lily was not to have any contact with them ever. Both behaviours were improper.
❗️Lily asked Logan to have sex with her because she wanted to induce her labour because she was nearly a week overdue.
❗️Hazel was calling Lily mommy!!! And no one corrected the little girl that she was her nanny!
❗️Not being able to control hormones and interacting sexually in the same room where a little girl is playing and her back is turned, is under par!

I usuall y stay away from stories with women pregnant from another man but this one caught my attention and wouldn't let it go. I don't even know why either. It was just sweet. I loved Hazel and I loved Lily and Logan was just a perfect hero. I could have kept reading about the all night. Her husband was a jerk and he dies in a car accident at the beginning. Logan was the firefighter who helped her. She ends up being his Nanny and she's seven months pregnant. Hazel is the little girl who watched her mom die of a drug overdose and hasn't spoken since so when she meets broken Lily, they bond big time. I really liked this book. It was very sweet and there is a little angst at the end that almost made me knock off a star but the epilogue saved it. a feel good romance and it's safe and I read it in Scribd.

This book had all the makings of a beautiful, sweet and sappy romance.
Hot Single Fireman - check.
Adorable kid that has suffered trauma - check.
Abused widow heroine - check.
Nanny-Employer relationship that crosses lines - double check.
I knew from the minute I was introduced to Logan's daughter, Hazel, that I would probably spend some time crying while reading this story. And sure enough, I found myself trying to read through the tears as I fell in love with each of these characters.

I've yet to read a book by this author that I didn't love. Her ability to tug at my heartstrings, without falling into cliches, seems endless. I adored Lily, Logan, and little Hazel. 😍😍

July 10, 2016This book had its faults (and they were small. As in petty things like being 95% sure that the book was set in America but slipping and using the British spelling of words like colour and labour) but the sweet and sappy moments that had me saying AWWWWWW! were by far in the lead.
Then it ticks me off me at 92%. I figured at some point there would be a conflict but what I got was a total overreaction from the h

You. The author. Sup. This book had me smiling for the majority of it so I won't give it a low star rating that would drag down its stats.
**Warning: This will be a long ass sentence -----> In the future, when you have done such a genuinely good job of taking us through a character's struggles and subsequent positive transformation, therefore thoroughly endearing her to us (and the character I'm referring to here is Hazel), please don't have the woman/FMC we're supposed to be rooting for
See, on the one hand, you did good by taking us through the journey and getting us invested in these characters and everything they've been through. And you made the H awesome. You made him so awesome that when he's sad we want to kick the ass of whoever's the cause of it. That being said, that conflict was bullshit. I don't care how mean Lily's husband was to her. It just didn't make sense that she would Yes, I realize that everyone will make up and there'll be a HEA but for me, the damage is done. You might have gotten me back here:

If you are not a fan of insta-love/lust then this story is not for you. It is extremely heart warming and very low drama. The hero is NOT a manwhore and has not been with a woman since his wife died. Same with the heroine. I really enjoyed this one!

I read this a while ago, but I reread all the time and still love it! Though each time I do read, the h gets on my nerves a little more. She was incredibly annoying and selfish (towards the end).

I saw this book sometime last month on Debbie's profile. It was not a recommendation but I really liked her review and had a go at this book. Thank you for that review, I really enjoyed reading this!
The story is of Lily who is suffering from emotional and mental abuse from her husband of seven years, Barry Castro. She married young, at a time when her parents had just died. Just when she finds out about her first pregnancy, they meet with an accident in which Barry gets killed and Lily is seriously injured. Barry's parents want their son's baby and are willing to pay her for it.
Logan Anderson is a firefighter who saved Lily's life and stayed with her till the paramedics arrived. The story then fasts forwards to three months after. Logan's a single dad to four-year-old Hazel, and desperately on the lookout for a nanny (who won't jump him). Lily, now twenty-five, is six months pregnant, walks with a slight limp, and brings chocolate cookies for the firemen to say thank you. And overhearing Logan's requirement for a nanny asks for employment.
Hazel lost her mother six months ago and hasn't spoken since. Logan has been taking her to a therapist but, the shock of seeing her mother die in front of her has traumatized her.
I loved how Lily and Hazel connected instantly (though it seems a little unbelievable), the way Hazel is so comfortable with Lily. And when Logan and Lily finally succumb to their attraction, it was really funny seeing them uncomfortable since Hazel seemed to interrupt them. Oh, it was hilarious! And also a bit amusing, when instead of facing everything head-on, both of them keep skirting around their mutual attraction. Though understandable, seeing what happened in both their pasts.
While this is a book full of adorable cuddly gooeyness, it is also a bit dated. And it needs editing as well, particularly for the repetitions throughout the text. The conflict wasn't that convincing. But, there's a sweet epilogue which brought it to a great end.

Lily's husband was emotionally and verbally abusive and just a general scumbag so when he died suddenly in an accident with her she's left homeless as he willed everything to his parents. Logan is the firefighter who saved her in that accident and she goes to tell him thank you and overheard about the job
It was pretty predictable, a little too convenient but definitely a nice palate cleanser

Hmm okay this was good, I liked the plot and the characters but something was missing.
I feel like neither Lily nor Logan had that good character arc. I really liked them but I didn't connect with them almost at all. The writing wasn't that special, it was okay but it felt maybe a bit flat as well.
This was super cute thought. I loved Hazel, Logan's kid, she was just adorable! Also, I loved the way Lily was with her and it was cute seeing Lily and Logan interacting. The fact that Logan was the sweetest guy and so caring and protective was definitely a plus.
Overall, I had a fun time with this book and it was a really fast read.

The day Lily Castro is about to tell her husband she is pregnant his cruel abusive verbal behavior has her keeping her mouth shut and instead saying she wants a divorce. Which he naturally laughs at. She has nothing and no one. Her only family are gone. Just when it looks bleakest another crosses over the median and slams head on into their car, trapped, she begs for help, looks and sees her husband is lifeless. Her only lifeline is firefighter Logan Anderson, who stays with her till she is extracted and taken to a hospital.
Months later after recouping an injured leg she learns her husband's will leaves her nothing. The house, money, cars all go to his parents who are as evil as him. When they learn she is pregnant with their son's child they offer to buy, yes you read the right BUY the child for 100G. She will never do that but she also know she is homeless, jobless and penniless. While his parents allow her to stay in the house till the child is born she needs to think of a way to survive and care for her baby.
Logan is at the firehouse when the beautiful Lily, like the flower, walks in with cookies, a thank you to him and the boys for their rescue. When she offer hears his conversation about needing a live in nanny for his daughter, she jumps at the chance. After an interview a few days later when he is shocked to find her pregnant he wavers but when his daughter, Hazel, who hasnt talked since her mother died some months back he gives her the job.
Lily is a wonder. Hard working, amazing with his daughter, beautiful to look at. Temptation is rearing it head for both our hero & heroine. Will they cross the line? Will his need to protect her from the ex;s parents help or hurt her?
This was a really nice read i was so into it I finished it in a day.

This was a nice sugary sweet read with widowed H/h. Both of them had terrible marriages, H's with a wife who was addicted to drugs and heroine's to an emotionally abusive husband. Preggers h takes nanny job with H whose daughter hasn't spoken since seeing her mother OD and die. Of course the heroine is a great nanny, cook etc. They share an attraction but heroine intends to stand on her feet. I liked how heroine didn't let hero rail-road her. Of course it was full of sap with hero's daughter calling h mommy, H referring to h's daughter as our baby etc.
This was a nice sugary sweet read with widowed H/h. Both of them had terrible marriages, H's with a wife who was addicted to drugs and heroine's to an emotionally abusive husband. Preggers h takes nanny job with H whose daughter hasn't spoken since seeing her mother OD and die. Of course the heroine is a great nanny, cook etc. They share an attraction but heroine intends to stand on her feet. I liked how heroine didn't let hero rail-road her. Of course it was full of sap with hero's daughter calling h mommy, H referring to h's daughter as our baby etc.

This story really tugged at my heart. Lily was married to a man that verbally abused her, and was always belittling her. They had just left a party, when he was yelling at her in the car. She had asked him to slow down, because she knew the roads were slick with the rain. The car ended up crashing. Lilly was trapped in the metal of the car, and she knew from the look in her husband's eyes that he had died. Logan was a fireman, and he stayed with her, and talked to her until the ambulance could get there. It was his voice that kept her calm. Afterwards she found that her husband's will, left her with nothing. He had left his parents with everything, the house included. Lilly found out she was pregnant right before the accident. To top it off, her in-laws offered to buy her baby from her. Lilly would never give up her baby, she already loved her.
Logan's wife died a while back. His 4 year old daughter Hassle was home when the accident happened. Hassle has not talked since the loss of her mother. I fell in love with this sweet little girl throughout the story.
Lilly wanted to thank the fireman that had saved her life. She brought cookies to the firehouse. Lilly overheard a conversation that Logan needed a nanny. After she thanked him for saving her life, she asked about the job. Lilly fell in love with the sweet little girl. It was the perfect job for Lilly. I almost cried the first time Hassle talked. Lilly and Hassle had really bonded. Lilly thought that Hassle just needed time, but Logan knew it was Lilly's love that helped the little girl to talk again.
This was a heartwarming story. I'm sure I will read it again someday.

I’m a big sap for when theres a pregnancy trope and a single parent trope. He’s a single dad with the cutest daughter and she’s pregnant, widow and needs a job. This book was so cute, emotional and sweet. Had me sniffling a bit. It’s so sweet and domestic and such a heartwarming book that just makes you happy.
