The last thing anyone wants is to be a dispensable member of the leading mafia family. But that’s exactly what Luciana is.
As a lowly cousin and the only female offspring in the Torrio mafia family, Luciana is just the bargaining chip her uncle needs to make an alliance with the Bilotti family. Luciana is terrified of essentially being sold off to a mafia boss, especially one as cruel as Romero, but there’s no saying no in her world.
Luciana tells herself she’s not being sold through the arranged marriage. That, like her uncle says, she’s just a spy. But from the moment she is drawn into Romero's world, it quickly becomes apparent he owns her—down to her every breath. And despite her reasons for being there, she can’t help but like how it feels.
She just might be falling for him, but is she just another prized possession “won” to a man who gets everything he wants…or is she more of a pawn in this dangerous game than she ever realized? And if Romero really does want her to belong to him, what will he do when he learns the truth?
If Luciana thought saying no to her family would be a deadly mistake, just wait until Romero finds out she’s only there to set him up.
This is a dark and edgy romance with troubling elements. The MC is hot but damaged. He’s brutal and unforgiving, but he has a heart in there somewhere. It’s going to take more than one book to find it. You’ve been warned.
USA Today Bestselling Author Ella Jade has been writing for as long as she can remember. As a child, she often had a notebook and pen with her, and now as an adult, the laptop is never far. The plots and dialogue have always played out in her head, but she never knew what to do with them. That all changed when she discovered the eBook industry. She started penning novels at a rapid pace and now she can’t be stopped.
Ella resides in New Jersey with her husband, two boys and two feisty Chihuahuas named Roxie and Macy. She can often be found creating sexy, domineering men and the strong women who know how to challenge them in and out of the bedroom. She hopes you’ll get lost in her words.
I liked the premise of this book. An otherwise discarded woman going "undercover" to spy on a family rival. Getting into it however, everything felt foundless. Luciana's family was absolute trash to her and she was very happy being left out of everything and doing things on her own, so her sudden desperation to jump neck-deep into with the mission to benefit her family just felt, odd. There were many moments in this story where motivations or character actions did a 180 to go back on itself from chapter to chapter.
Now, I love a good alpha-hole bully romance, but Romero was just an ass. For a long time. We get chapters from his perspective, but there's little emotion or internal-conflict in them so they didn't open me up to him at all.
Overall, the characters and story just fell flat for me. I wasn't attached to either of them or rooting for them to overcome challenges, so I got bored and after about 65% through the story I just skimmed to the end.

Innocent young woman, arranged marriage, a$$hole for a groom, warring mafia families. This book had potential, but it fell flat. Too much of the same thing that inhabits every other story set in the same world. Just for once I’d like the main female character to fight back. Refuse to fall in line instead of insta love as soon as her husband beds her. Aside from that, there were very choppy moments in the writing, one minute the main male character is thumping his chest, yelling at everyone how he’s the boss and blah blah blah, the next minute he’s all conciliatory and trying to make her feel better. Too much flip flop with him. I skipped tons of pages, mainly the s$x. Boring and predictable. I think its time for me to stop reading these stories, they are all ending up the same. I wish someone would write a mafia story that doesn’t end with the woman pregnant and madly in love with her redeemed husband. I’d like to see one where she puts a bullet through his brain and walks out free. Now that would be interesting.
Ruthless Saints by Ella Jade is a dark mafia romance, and wow, what a great start to this series!
"Buckle up, baby, because your entire world is about to change forever."
Luciana has not had the best life; she lost her parents and went to live with her aunt and uncle and three cousins. Her family doesn't care about her, so they pawn her off to marry Romero Billotti, a ruthless mafia boss. They let her believe that she is marrying him to help build trust so they can have the Billotti as an ally, but little does she know it's to eliminate Romero to gain power over his territories.
Luciana has to decide if she keeps feeding her family information or comes clean and tells her husband everything. Which side will Luciana choose?
"I think you've chosen a life that makes you believe you're a dark person."
I devoured this book in one sitting. I can't wait for book two, Her Heartless King, to come out!
This book was a tad hard for me to digest. I find it difficult to romanticise cruelty and bullying. And Romero is both cruel and a bully. I found nothing to inspire romance from the way he speaks to Luciana to the way he "seduces" her.
Luciana too was uninspiring as a character. Is she gullible, naive or simply just too dumb to realise her life is in danger if she is caught? How can she be so indebted to her family who has all but ignored for most of the time she has been with them. And then the way she is complacent with Romero and allows him to take advantage of her when she's supposed to be "innocent". Overall a disappointing, cringefest of a book for me.

Ruthless Saints pulled me into the story and held me tight. Just a warning this book does end on a cliffhanger but I care about these characters so I have to keep reading to find out what happens. Luciana lives with her aunt, uncle and cousins. The Torrio family is a very powerful crime family who use a law firm as their cover. Except for Rocco and Sandro, her cousins, she is not treated well. She takes their condescension because it is all she knows.
Romero Bilotti is a ruthless arms dealer. He is making his way up in power. Luciana is offered to him in marriage as a way to merge the families. Little does Romero know she is there to spy on him. Luciana believes she is only checking to see if he is a worthy addition.
Romero is often a bit rough but Luciana falls for him. Against what his head tells him, Romero falls fast and hard for Luciana. Luciana pushes Romero's buttons but this only electrifies their chemistry. The story moves quickly and reveals itself. Twisting and turning the truth always comes out, bringing an ending that can be expected but jarring nonetheless. This is my first Ella Jade book but it is only the beginning because I enjoyed this story and look forward to more.
I love a good mafia story. This story isn’t nearly as bloody as my usual reads but it has a good lot of angst and nail-biting anticipation. I feel it could have been a lot juicer and more gruesome but the story was an easy read.
Luciana is a waif of a girl, her life is lonely and I feel sorry for her lack of love from her family. They are a horrible bunch of relatives, with one or two exceptions, who happen to be lawyers and mafia members, a slightly odd combination and a new idea to me. They use Luciana as a pawn to get them information on the Bilotti family. Shame on them!
Romero is the eldest brother and the head of the Bilotti family that consists of him and his brother, Gio. He’s supposed to be ruthless… he’s a rough man but I don’t feel he was as ruthless as he could be.
There were a few moments in this story that stressed me out but it was a really sweet story that, I believe, will have a lot more to offer in the next book… I hope.
This is a great first book in this series and I am certainly looking forward to book two in this series. Luciana finds herself caught up in the middle of her family (The Torrio's) and her new husband, Romero Bilotti and there's no telling if she will come out of this alive. This is a very intriguing story and it pulled me right in and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Wow this rollercoaster ride of danger, secrets, lies, betrayal and sacrifice takes a hold of you from the very first page to the very last. Luciano is forced into an arranged marriage to join two powerful mafia families. She has never felt like she fit in with her uncle's family but was close to his youngest son Alessandro. Romero is rough, unapologetic and crude at times but his tenderness when it came to Luciano was touching. The storyline was so well written and the detailed description made you feel you were there with the characters through the entire book.

Her family used her as a pawn, to bad she's human and developed feelings for her husband after their business deal marriage. Wil lshe betray her family like she did her husband? Will they actually have a real marriage? Couldn't put the book down. Read it in less then a day. Patiently waiting for book 2 in the series so potentially cliffhangers. TWO THUMBS UP! Go and read it now.

Luciana hasn’t had a good life after her parents passed and she was sent to live with your aunt and uncle, but she has tried to make the best of a bad situation. She dreams of making a life for yourself and finding her place in the world, but those dreams are forsaken when her uncle signs her over to a ruthless mafia boss with the instruction that she gathers information on her new husband and brings it back to him so that he can bring down his rival.
She finds herself catch in the middle of something she never wanted to be a part of. She is torn between her loyalty to her family who have taken care of her after her parents died and her new found loyalty to her new husband, for whom her feelings seem to grow with each passing day.
This book is just amazing and so well written, I devoured it in the first day it landed in my kindle. Ella Jade has done a fantastic job of bringing this book to life with these amazing characters you immediately fall in love with. It does end on a cliffhanger so I’m dying to get my hands on the second book in the series
Go grab your copy now, you will most definitely not be disappointed!
Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this ARC.
Luciana is a bargaining chip for her family. Used to gain an alliance with the Bilotti family, Luciana knows her family sees her as expendable. But Romero might give her a reason to believe she's not just some pawn in a twisted game. That is, until he finds out why she's with him in the first place.
Luciana was an interesting character. She's not strong, like a normal female mafia lead, but I think that adds to her charm through the story. Romero is exactly what you expect a mafia man to be like, but also has a semi sweet side with Luciana. The author created a great story for the two and gave them a believable romance.
There wasn't anything different between this mafia book, and others out there. It was a standard mafia romance and it was a little predictable when it came to what would happen. I didn't see any twists or surprises I wasn't already anticipating, so that was a little disappointing.
The overall story was great and well written, I just wanted something that added a little uniqueness to the mafia romance world.
This is the first book I read by Ella Jade and I'm hooked. The way she painted this mafia world had me hooked from the beginning. Could not put this book down.
Luciana was born into the mafia world but raised by her uncle after her parents were killed. She’s now being married off to another mafia and alpha, Romero. But she was not there to fall in love. She was there to spy for her family the Torrio’s. But when you put these two together, their attraction and chemistry starts to build. Trying to resist falling in love, Luciana is having a hard time staying loyal to her family and loving her new husband. She knows if Romero finds out, she will surely pay the consequences.
Full of desire, secrets, lies, angst, steam, family drama, twists and emotions you will be flipping the pages so fast trying to find out what happens next. Can’t wait for the next book!
I received this arc and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Ruthless Saints by Ella Jade is a dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Isabelle Turner and Logan Anare. This is the first book in the Sold To The Mafia Boss series.
This is the first book of Ella's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I am loving the chemistry between Romero and Luciana. I can't wait to see how everything will play out over the course of the series. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
The book ended on a cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series Her Heartless King to be released on audio so I can get more of their story.
Logan and Isabelle did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, age gap romances, enemies to lovers romances, or arranged marriage romances.
This novel is about Luciana, the niece of hated and brutal mafia boss Antonio Torrio, and her arranged marriage to Romero Billotti, a ruthless, self-made mafia boss arms dealer, whose father was murdered at the hands of an unknown assailant and his kingdom overtaken by Antonia Torrio and his three sons after his father’s passing. Luciana had dreams of attending law school and becoming a lawyer, but those dreams are discarded by her uncle and his instructions that she will marry Romero Billotti, but he needs her to spy on her husband and report back. Luciana goes along with her uncle’s wishes only because she believes her marriage will be ended as soon as she completes her mission for her uncle. Antonio initially told Luciana that her spying on her new husband was only until her uncle could determine if Romero can be trusted enough for the two mafia families to become involved in business ventures together. On her wedding day, Luciana learns that her uncle expects her to report her husband’s every move, where he goes, who he meets, what transpires, etc., on a daily basis so he can “take” Romero down and get rid of him and his brother’s operations. Luciana is torn between loyalty to her family and loyalty to her new husband, for whom she has developed intense feelings. Ella Jade, the author of Ruthless Saints, has crafted a dark, believable, fast-paced, extremely hot, and thrilling story of a woman who longs to find her place in life to figure out what she was meant to do with her life (law school, wife and mother, etc.) as well as her place within her so-called. This is a dark, hot, and intense tale of two people who have suffered in their childhood, and who want to take a chance on one another. Grab yourself a portable A/C unit, a bucket of ice and cold water because this is one deliciously hot read!
Luciana is thrust into a world that she really doesn’t know a thing about. Romero needs this deal to go through. Together, they are unstoppable. Lies and betrayal are ever present and no one ever crosses Romero. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Great writing.

Wow! This book was hot! It takes you on a hot roller coaster ride and I loved every minute of it. I’m sad I have to wait for the next book to come out to continue the journey! I can’t wait to see what happens next and how everything will work out!! This was my first book by this author and I will definitely be checking out her other books
This book was absolutely perfect! So freaking good to read!! Between the Torrios and Romero and their mafia rules and with Luciana being the mole to marry Romero! I would have never guessed the ending but wowwwweeeee!!
Luciana is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Her family marries her off to another Mafia family. She wants none of this. She told it’s to form an alliance to strengthen their power and territory. But in reality it to take her now husband down. If she doesn’t do as they ask she will be in grave danger. If she gets caught by her husband she fears she will be dead. What is she to do when she actually developed feelings for her husband. How can she keep herself from being found out! If Romero finds out she’s the rat she’s as good as dead. She’s seen first hand what he’s capable of, no doubt about she will be dead!
I can’t wait to read what happens next! This book leaves you wanting to binge on the next one!

What happens when one girl wants to live her life one way but her family has other plans for her? This fast paced book will leave you wanting more. Intriguing characters as well as hot scenes.
Where is book 2?! Woooooooow. This book to me by suprise so hard.it made me feel so many emotions. It was amazing. It had such a great story line. And wonderful characters. Even though i wanted to kill some a few times. It was amazing and i can't wait to read more!
The Torrio’s want more than their fair share, they want it all. So, big boss Antonio sends his niece whom he raised after her parents died in a “arranged marriage alliance” with Romero Billoti. When Billoti’s father was killed, Torrio took over his territory as Romero didn’t want it. He wanted to build his own empire and that he did. He’s ruthless, doesn’t tolerate foolishness, tardiness, and second chances are something he doesn’t do. He’s even a one night stand type of guy so how is this marriage going to work? Lu, is aware that her family is one of “the families” but she doesn’t participate in the business. She’s been sheltered and kept in a guilted cage guarded by a wicked witch named Kristina Torrio and her 3 sons. Sondro and Rocco are kind, but Vincent is a closet sociopath. Thrust into this whole new world, falling deeper for her husband by the day, and making herself sick by betraying him when he’s trying so hard to be what she needs is painting Lu into a corner, but will she survive telling him the truth about her extracurricular family activities.
This was an amazing start to what is sure to shape up to a perfect series. The introduction of the players, the backstory of our mains, the conflict, and can we just talk about the chemistry between Lu and Ro?! He is all caveman when it comes to his wife and she’s equally possessive. His butterfly proves she’s not breakable, and I would love to see Ella write Lu’s real transformation from Torrio to Billoti and make her a total baddass because she has potential. There’s a fire simmering in this woman and I want to see her towering inferno!
Luciana lost her parents when she was younger, and she was taken in by her uncle who just so happens to be the head of the Torrio crime family. She's pretty much a prisoner to whatever they decide for her, so she's a tad skittish & awkward. However, she does want to leave it all behind & go to law school, but her uncle has something else in mind for her. Romero despises her family, but he allows himself to be married off to her, and he's not exactly nice at first. The thing is, the sparks are flying but then there's the fact that he's really getting attached to her, and she to him. There's just one big problem, her uncle is having her spy on Romero to report back which kept me on the edge of my seat anxious as all hell since you already know her secret will come out which will put her life at risk. This story drew me in from the jump, and I devoured it in one sitting because it was impossible to put down. It all leads to a brutal cliffhanger & I find myself dying inside because I NEED the next book now! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I love a good Mafia romance and this one did not disappoint. I was pulled in from page one and read it in one sitting.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved Luciana and Romero's book! The push and pull between them kept me reading and the twists and turns has me impatient for more. I can't wait to continue their story in Her Heartless King.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
The last thing anyone wants is to be a dispensable member of the leading mafia family. But that's exactly what Luciana is. As a lowly cousin and the only female offspring in the Torrio Mafia family. Luciana is just the bargaining chip her uncle needs to make an alliance with the Bilotti family. Lucian is terrified of essentially being sold off to a mafia boss, especially one as cruel as Romero, but there's no saying no in her world. Luciana tells herself she's not being sold through the arranged marriage. That, like her uncle says, she's just a spy. But from the moment she is drawn into Romero's world, it quickly becomes apparent her owns her-down to her every breath. And despite her reasons for being there she can't help but like how it feels. She just might be falling for him, but is she just another prized possession "won" to a man who gets everything he wants...or is she more of a pawn in this dangerous game than she ever realized? And if Romero really doesn't want her to belong to him, what will he do when he learns the truth? If Luciana thought no to her family would be a deadly mistake, just wait until Romero finds out she's only there to set him up.
This is one crazy ride. Luciana has not had the best life. The poor girl lost her parents and she had to go and live with her aunt and uncle and three cousins. Her Aunt basically treats her like the dirty on the bottom of her shoes. Her uncle is not very caring at all but the boys try. But she still knows that she doesn't belong with them and they are a very important family that she wants no part of. She just wants to go to law school and get away from it all. Live her own life. However when her uncle comes to her and needs her to do the family a favor and marry the boss of another family she is shock. Romero is a man who walked away from his fathers empire. But in the process he has built and even bigger better one and still has a few lose ends. When he is offered the deal to marry Luciana he thinks long and hard but it is what he needs really to align with her family. When they first meet I don't know that I would say the sparks flew and it got a little crazy because Romero was testing to see how innocent she was and he has one heck of a dirty mouth on him. I love a male characters with a dirty mouth so I was all Romero is the man when I heard him talk. To say this is a marriage that might be doomed from the very start might also be a huge understatement and Luciana's uncle drops a major bomb on her right before she is to walk down the aisle. She certainly is in a mess with no good choice on either side. Do you betray your family or the man you married that you just might be catching some serious feelings for.
“There’s an entire world out there, and I want to see it. I want to live.”
Let me start off by saying that as this was a random pick-up and read for me over the weekend, I was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. This is my first book by this author and I am obsessed forever now. ✨ The way Ella writes mafia romances is exactly what I didn't know I was needing! While the spice, romance, push and pull, and story is great....the world building is phenomenal! 🥰 The amount of detail that goes into the organized crime structures and activities that happen in the story makes this a very living world. There are so many great twists, turns, thrills, and of course 🌶🥵🌶 to keep readers on our toes and needing to know what happens next!
If you like dark mafia reads with OOT, possessive MMCs and incredible world building then this is a book you cannot miss!

Ruthless Saints Sold to the Mafia Boss, Book 1 By: Ella Jade Narrated by: Isabelle Turner, Logan Anare
This is a fantastic dark mafia romance, the story is original with interesting storylines that captivated my attention through the entire book. Luciana’s parents died in a car accident when she when she was young and she went to live with her uncle, aunt and cousins, the Torrio crime family. Except for her aunt, they all treated her well, and she is working as a paralegal in the family’s law firm and has a dream of becoming a lawyer herself. But her uncle has other plans with her, an arranged marriage with Romero Billotti, a power play but no ordinary power play. They want her on the inside to gain information to take him down. She had no choice, and she was eager to please her family, especially her aunt who never took a liking to her. Her uncle and cousins kept her sheltered from the mafia life, so she is at a disadvantage from the start. Romero grew up in the mafia world, his father was a monster, and he is just as ruthless, but he did not want to just takeover his empire, he wanted to build his own. And that is exactly what he is doing, marrying Luciana is just a power play, and it does not hurt that she is gorgeous. He is rough with her at first, but he soon realizes she is not as he assumed. When things go sideways in his business, he and his brother suspect there is a mole in his organization. Romero does not tolerate moles, so when he finds out who the mole is all he will deal with it the Romero way. You will find drama, twists, thrilling suspense, and steamy romance in this cleverly plotted story. Ella Jade, thank you for this great story and wild ride.
🎧📚🎧And for the terrific narration, Isabelle Turner and Logan Anare did an amazing job bringing these characters and story to life. They understood their characters well and played their roles convincingly. Anare nailed it as Romero, the bossy alpha-hole and Turner’s Luciana was spot on, grasping her naivety, insecurities, as well as her strength. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling the all. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fantastic listen.
