This book of poems tell stories of African American men and women. They describe different issues and personal problems dealing with domestic violence to racial discrimination. The book contains real life situations that mature audiences can embrace.
Kaiesha D. Ford has been a writer since a young age when she felt compelled to write her first poem following the death of her favorite singer. That same year, after attending her school's annual Black History Month presentation and suffering a racial attack, she wrote her second poem, and something of an obsession was born.
The comfort and confidence she has discovered through her poetry have helped her on numerous occasions, especially in the face of adversity. She continues to use it to express her emotions and freedom of speech.
With a growing understanding that others could benefit from her poems and short stories as much as she has, Kaiesha has put some of her best work into her latest collection, providing insights into subjects from love and relationships to self-worth.
