The Lost Lines #2

The Assassin's Promise

Rate this book
She was bred to be lovely. She turned out lethal.

After escaping an evil king bent on reviving an extinct, magical line, Roya promised to dedicate her life to ridding the world of abusive tyrants. But when her mentor, Thorn, flunks her out of the Assassins Guild, she flees her humiliation and runs straight into danger.

Now kings and warlords hunt her, somehow privy to her deepest secret—that she is one of the legendary line. Thorn is her only ally, until Roya’s magical lure inadvertently draws more than one dangerous protector to her side.

Roya wants to be known for her skills as a poisoner, not mysterious powers. But when Thorn teams up with a prince, a warrior-scholar, and a pirate, there may not be enough poison in the world to kill the pull she feels to all four, though these men may not be who they say they are. And some may want to lock her away for themselves.

Maybe it’s time for her to cook up a deadly plan of her own.

The Assassin’s Promise is a 108,000-word fantasy in The Lost Lines Series, with multiple love interests, some spicy scenes, violence, and a guaranteed HEA (Happily Ever After). All books in the series are written as standalones, but they might be more fun to read in order. Content warnings are in the Author’s Note just inside the book. Please read before deciding if this book is for you!

When I was writing The King’s Omega and 16-year-old Roya walked onto the page, announcing that “every girl’s got to have a hobby. Someday, mine’s going to be murder,” I fell in love.
I had to explore what an Omega could be with an older Roya as my female character. Can an Omega be strong, fearless, trained in the deathly arts? Why, yes. But her Alphas will need to be even stronger to keep up with her.

Roya’s Alphas appeared as I wrote, which was sort of terrifying—I don’t like to plot out every last thing in advance, but writing this way required an authorial leap of faith. I am so pleased with how it turned out. I hope Kavin, Icarus, Altair, and Thorn are all very different from each other, and vastly different from the previous Alphas in the series. I may write a short sequel for Roya and her guys someday, but the next book will be a return to Rimholt, with Haven, another of the “Failed Omegas,” coming to grips with her past and meeting her own trio of infuriatingly handsome and over-protective Alpha guards.

Check out The Guards’ Haven, the next book out in The Lost Lines Series (March 30, 2022): https://books2read.com/thelostlines3

Note: I’m already drafting another full-length novel in the series. The secondary characters of Wulfram, Talon, and Wren/Angel that appear in The Assassin’s Promise will take center stage in The Leviathan’s Debt, out later in 2022. They will be joined by two others… and the groveling wyvern king will be the tamest mate Wren has to deal with. #kraken #selkieprince

You can pre-order The Leviathan’s Debt now (release date will move up): https://books2read.com/thelostlines4

I love to hear from readers, and I take kindly worded criticism/advice into account when plotting and planning my next books. Reach out to Merri@merribright.com or join my reader FB group, Merri’s Mischief Makers.

Happy reading!

Roya I'd one fierce FMC! She's an omega yes, but she's also sn assassin, thinking she failed her test into the guild, yet the mentor She's loved forever Thorn has been fighting his alpha nature, but not his need to keep her safe from his corrupt guild master. They leave a trail of dead bodies behind in their quest for safety. What a turbulent quest that is too. A warlords heir, a poisoned king, an exiled pirate wyvern prince all make up this assassin's males. I stayed up until dawn reading this, it totally enthralled me, hooked me and thrilled me.

Swoonworthy omegaverse romance...

Merri Bright is definitely my favourite author. Her omegaverse might have dark themes, but the subtle humour and slow growth of the harem is pure decadence.
This book continues six years after The King's Omega, Vila story and has overlapping characters but can be read as a standalone.
Roya, rescued by Thorn, entered into the guild, failed out by Thorn. Unbeknownst to Roya that dark plots are planned and executed that have her at the end of chains.
As she runs, she finds her strength, worth, and her harem to keep her safe. Hot tempered and over-proud, I find her to be a wonderful MC.
Thorn the Guild assassin, Daddy of the harem. Is grumpy, aloof, and swoonworthy. Kavin is young, scholarly, and sweet. Altair, the broken prince, meant to be king, charming, and honest. Icarus, the pirate, exiled prince, and a wyvern have a sky bond with Roya.
An action-packed read filled with running from assassins, sailing through storms, surviving poisons, saving a to be king, almost drowning in ocean, flying with wyvern and finding family, love and devotion.

Tropes:

Omegaverse. Found family. Forced Proximity. Voyeurism. Pirates. Wyvern. Mated. Knotting. Daddy kink. Big 🍆. Virgin MC's. Poisons.

Quotes:

“No matter what they do to you, you are not your body. You are your soul. And you are strong, Roya. Strong enough to defeat them all.”

“Come, little queen,” Thorn demanded. “Come for us both.”

I knew I wanted to read Roya's book as soon as I met her in The King's Omega and she talked about murder. An assassin, Omega with 4 men, brilliant plot, new and old characters, I loved every second. Roya is such a badass and the men are all different but perfect for her. The plot, betrayal, lies and truths. So much fun. Sad that it ended.

I loved this book especially how strong of a woman Roya was considering everything she went through in her life and learning to work with poisons to protect herself! She is a no holding back kind of character and I really appreciated that about her. I’m so happy Thorn one of her Alphas got over himself and realized he couldn’t be without her. All of her Alphas brought something different to to the table and make me fall in love with each of them a bit!

This is my favorite of The Lost Lines series! Roya is a fierce assassin, who also happens to be an Omega - but she refuses to let her designation rule her life. Unfortunately, biology trumps all! She still finds love (and some sexy Alphas).

This is probably my favorite RH omegaverse romance that I have read in the past year. The heroine was strong, smart, and driven. Her Alpha mates were all deliciously alpha in the romance novel sense, which is frustratingly not the case with most RH omegaverse romance. The fantasy world building was lush and vivid. The plot was tight and coherent, and there was plenty of action, adventure, and dangerous political intrigue to keep the stakes high. You could really see significant growth in the author’s writing and storytelling skill in this second book in the series compared to the first book in the series. I love the fact that each novel in this series so far are standalone romances with a true Happy Ever After ending instead of a f***ing cliffhanger. I highly recommend this novel, and enjoyed it thoroughly.

I received a free copy of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I loved about 70% of this story. The h was a bad ass, there were some funny moments, and most of her men were dreamy. The last 30% I started skimming.

DNF at 75%. I read the first book in the series quite a few years ago (and will probably be doing a reread to see if my stance on the book remains the same after DNFing this one). This book was a bit of a let down for me. The world building was poorly explained and overall, it was a big ball of confusion for me about countries, monarchies, the Guild, societal hierarchies, a timeline, travel/transport, political landscapes, supernatural races and mating bonds. On this, while I understand that Roya is highly sought after as an omega, for me there were too many different people involved and the whole thing often felt more like a chaotic action film than anything (especially the second half). One massive thing that actually drove me nuts was how Altair supposedly had atrophied muscles, but was then fed a few herbs and popped up and started running and resuming daily life like that's not physically impossible so quickly?? And honestly, after two years of constant drugging and basically comatose torture, for him to immediately be thrown into a romance with Roya and fighting to protect her did not go down well with me morally- homie probably needs some physical therapy, lots of rest, and literally not this? I liked Roya's character enough, especially her knowledge around plants and poisons, but I don't think she's anywhere near as badass or cool as a lot of the reviews (and probably the author) intended. To be fair, I do like dark romances, so I usually prefer FMC's with a bloodthirsty spirit and one too many weapons hidden in tight dresses and leather jackets. Thorn was a decent MMC, although his reasoning for staying away from Roya became pretty flimsy when at every opportunity to touch her he did (not to mention her denial of his feelings got a bit ridiculous near the end). Kavin got bonus points for being all 'scholarly', but aside from that, him, Altair and Icarus had little personality beyond 'Roya so pretty, I want eat yum yum' so they're not high on my list. The whole 'plot twists' with Kavin's father, Icarus' brother and Altair's general just added to the confusion and made everything with Roya unnecessarily dramatic and complicated. At this point, I don't even know what the plot was. The spice in this, particularly Roya's heat, were pretty disappointing for me as well. This one wasn't for me.

AHHHH I'M SO OBSESSED! I loooooved this book! I mean Merri has always done it for me but this is just next level!

I didn't want to be an Omega, cosseted and decorative. I wanted to be powerful and lethal, strong enough to keep any future king from enslaving other women.

That first s*x scene with Kavin and Roya was so hot!! I loved Vali and her men but this is by far my favorite! I mean it just has so many elements that I loved, like Icarus being a wyvern, I so did not see that coming! I loved all the characters in this book but I especially have a love for Roya, I mean she is so badass but also so lovable. I’m obsessed I cannot wait to see what comes next!

"I could sail the ship" she retorted. "It can't be too hard if that gob of donkey dung can do it."

I’m one of those people that loves seeing my favorite characters with a family so I’m like waiting for Merri to give us little baby wyverns.

What I wanted to say was that I didn't know before then that a soul could be revealed in a song. That he had transformed his years of grief into a moment of ephemeral beauty.

FYI you don't need to read the other books before starting this one but I say it’s definitely worth it seeing as they are set in the same world and give you information about the characters' backgrounds! And also the whole series is top tier so I mean who wouldn't want to ;)

100000% recommend this book!

I absolutely loved The King’s Omega, the first book in the Lost Lines series, so I was ecstatic to pick up The Assassin’s Promise! Each book has been a standalone in the same universe, with some overlapping characters.

The Assassin’s Promise follows Roya, who was the youngest Omega rescued from King Milian’s harem of Omegas. Roya is fierce, loyal, and independent. She’s determined to make her own way, Omega status be damned. She gets into some considerable trouble, some of which is her own doing but a lot of it is due to people around her forgetting who she is as they focus on what she is. The Alphas she encounters along the way are a mixed bag, but a few capture her interest. These particular Alphas are very different men who come into Roya’s orbit for their own reasons, some secret and some not. Although Roya resists her Omega nature, the individual Alphas earn her trust and affection. It’s rare that I truly love each male in one harem, but that’s the case with this one. They’re all so different but that’s what I appreciate most! It’s a well-rounded group of main characters, with full backstories and individual personalities, that really makes this story pop. The plot is romantic, adventurous, and full of betrayals and surprises. I’m excited to read more books set in the same universe!

Merri did it again! no, really!

Another steamy installment in The Lost Lines Series- a wonderfully inventive Omegaverse series of (mostly) standalone novels- though there are mentions to interconnected characters. If you like firey Heroines, possessive (and knotty) mates, just a hint of magic, and a whole lot of sass mixed into your extra spicy novels- this is the one for you.

At this point I’m starting to feel like I’m biased- I have absolutely DEVOURED every word I’ve come across that Merri has written.
I started this one last night- and immediately picked it back up when my eyes opened this morning.. that’s how sucked into Roya’s story I was.

Roya is NOT your average omega- in any Omegaverse. Strong, entirely independent, and quite literally /an Assasin/. She is a firecracker with a quick wit, and quicker violent impulses. I absolutely adore her.
Her backstory is tragic, as a young girl rescued from a vile king’s harem, but the only thing she allows that experience to do is strengthen her.

Her mates are a bawdry mix of nobles, shifty pirates, scholar, and a fellow violent tendencies individual.. the mix is potent and addictive! I have no trouble seeing how Roya captured their hearts, nor how they capture hers.

Go, click that button & start reading this now.

This was one of my favourite books in the Lost Lines series.

Jam packed with action, heat and mates who are all so different but come together for their love of Roya.

Roya never wanted to be unsafe again and after studying under Thorn for years at the assassins guild she has almost graduated when everything changes.

Now being hunted for being an omega this story leads us through different lands and new Alphas both young and older who learn that Roya is worth sharing if it means a life together.

I love how strong and capable Roya is, she is tough and her knowledge of poisons makes her a deadly omega but when her heat hits well….. there is a lot of spice, knotting and everything else you could hope for.

Thorns loyalty through the years is heartwarming but I’m glad he finally comes to his senses.

Altairs gentleness and passion after the harrowing ordeal he went through to keep him off the throne.

Kavins youthfulness but superior knowledge makes him easy to fall in love with.

And last but definitely not least Icarus, the introduction is his wyvern was a great part of Rita’s story.

Overall I found this book even more interesting than others in the collection due to the different lands and customs that Roya has to come to grips with.

With the great humour that you find in all of Merri’s books I enjoyed every minute of reading this book.

I wasn't sure how Merri was going to be able to top Vali's book for me but boy was I hooked reading Roya's story. I am so glad I stumble upon this author and this series. I fell in love with The King's Omega and binged book 1 plus the novella (The Queen's Nest). Each book is a standalone, interconnected story.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of book 2 The Assassin’s Promise, which tells Roya's story. Roya was thought to be a "failed Omega" who we meet briefly in book 1. After escaping the horrors of a corrupt king, Roya is determined to never be helpless and scared again. But she is turned away from the Assassins Guild and on the run!

Along the way, she learns more about herself and her Omega nature. She meets some seriously Alpha men. And fights the bad guys too! I really liked that Roya challenged her Omega nature and was strong enough to defend herself. Even though her guys made mistakes in the beginning, I think I instantly liked all her men more than Vali's! I liked that her harem hadn't known each other beforehand and how each Alpha was so different from the next. And in this book, we even got to see some men with wings!!

I honestly hope there is more to come from this "world" and I cannot wait to read what Merri comes out with next!

I’ve been so ready for this book! I loved little murderer Roya since her introduction in Vali’s story! Roya is believed to be one of the many failed Omegas that were bred under King Milian. As Roya matures, she learns that she is a true Omega. As one of the only two remaining Omegas, she is highly coveted. With multiple people out to get an Omega for themselves (and for very bad reasons), Roya has a hard time finding people to trust.

Her harem is completely swoon worthy and 100% devoted to her. Thorn doesn’t believe he can ever have her, but constantly protects her. Kavin (aka Young Buck to me) falls so hard for her. It’s so adorable! Icarus was unexpected, but in a good way. He’s by far the oldest of her mates (who doesn’t love a silver fox!). Altair is who Roya saves from continuous poisoning. He makes her his Queen (it melted my heart).

Overall - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this story. Roya is in a constant battle with her nature and her mind. She struggles with being an Omega, but also wanting to be able to rely on herself for protection. She has a strong need to be wanted for more than her status as an Omega.

Merri Bright’s writing continues to get stronger with each book. This story is thrilling, steamy and exciting. I felt all the feelings and was always cheering for Roya.

I absolutely loved this book. I was so excited to read this after reading the other books in the Lost Lines Series. First of all, I love Merri Brights writing style. I feel like all of her books have a nice flow to them which really pulls you into her stories. There is a nice balance of spicy while still pushing the plot along. The character development for Roya in this book was amazing and I loved how it ties back in and answered some questions I had at the end of the King’s Omega! I am looking forward to reading more from this series!

The Assassins Promise follows Roya, who we met in the Kings Omega. After 6 years of training as an assassin, Roya has developed into a strong women who is determined to not be the omega every alpha is desiring her to be. Her life takes on some unexpected obstacles and she finds herself on the run. While fighting for her freedom she begins attracting more alpha’s and must figure out which ones she can trust. This book does have an HEA, spicy scenes, some violence, and multiple love interests. Please make sure to read any content warnings before reading to make sure this book is right for you

Typically, I find that a second book in a series (even one that is standalone) usually either hides in the shadows of the original book or is on pare with the original book. I have to say that this one breaks that mold- I think I liked this one more than the first. I mean, I liked the first book in the series (enough to sign up for the ARC team for future books) but the second book, I feel came out stronger. Set in the same world, we follow Roya, another of the “broken” omegas rescued from King Milian’s abused harem. Trained under the tutelage of Thorn of the assassins guild, she finds herself running for her life as a plot unfolds when she finds that the powers that be find out a secret she has been harboring for years. Across the course of her adventures, she draws to her the rest of her mates. I don’t want to give too much away, but I really liked how it all came together, and just found the story really well written. The spice was HOT. I found Roya a strong and likeable FMC. I think Ms Bright is a fabulous writer and I look forward to seeing what else she comes up with! I received a free ARC for an honest review.

Another Fabulous Book by Merri Bright!! ❤️❤️❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review

Another fabulous Omegaverse story by Merri Bright. I absolutely love her Omegaverse books and the Historical Fantasy twist she writes them with.

This is Roya’s story after being rescued and how she ended up with not one but four hot alpha men!! Roya is an assassin and she is good at what she does. She loves her mentor and savior Thorn but also feels a very strong pull towards Icarus, Altair and Kavin too. Luckily she won’t have to choose between them. Roya faces a lot of challenges and twists and turns as she learns about her true nature and the dangers behind it but with her men she will get thru every challenge and hardship.

This book has all the feels and enough mystery, adventure and secrets to keep you enthralled. If you love your FMC strong, independent, aren’t afraid to fight for what they want and love with all they are this is a must. And if you also love your Men who are 100% Alpha males who love fiercely, protect their woman with no limits to what they’d do to protect then yes you absolutely need this!! Highly recommend it!!

Um, ok, so if you want to read a great book with epic world building, a kick-ass Omega, 4 super smexy Alpha’s, and so.much.knotting, then The Assassin’s Promise needs to be at the top of your TBR list.

Roya is a failed omega turned omega assassin. She’s unknowingly caught up in an terrible plan that threatens her life and has to draw her Alpha’s to her if she has any hope of tapping into her powers and ultimately gaining her freedom. Along with her mentor, an assassin who she loves but appears not to return her feelings, she embarks on a journey surrounded by enemies, and on her way she meets a warlord’s son, a prince under siege, and a Wyvern (??) pirate.

This book was phenomenal. There was adventure, intrigue, an origin mystery solved, and of course a heat with lots of nesting. And did I mention knotting?? Merri Bright is quickly becoming a favorite author and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

This standalone follows The Kings Omega and some of the side characters you first met in that book, 6 years later.

I’m so happy that we got to see more of this amazing world, I definitely couldn’t choose which characters I’m more in love with. A strong domain female character and amazing and diverse men that fall for her.

I LIVE for the little back stories where Roya hasn’t realised Thorn has scared away another suitor when she was younger (love the one where she thought the guy was bitten by a spider) or shown his feelings while she was oblivious.

This book has the same level of spice you saw from The King’s Omega, brilliantly written and smoking hot.

The tropes that I noted from this book, they include but may not be limited to…

🔸 RH
🔸 Standalone (linked to other books but not necessary to read the others…you should though😂)
🔸 Omegaverse
🔸 Nesting
🔸 Age gap
🔸 Knotting
🔸 Nesting
🔸 Multi POV
🔸 Royalty
🔸 Fated mates

I absolutely love the world that Merri Bright has created for the omegaverse. What started with Vali's story has now expanded and we get to see Roya and her journey as an Omega.

We originally saw Roya when she was rescued from Millen's harem in Vali's book. After the first book, Roya started training with Thorn in the Assassin's Guild to become a great assassin. When things go awry, Roya goes on the run with Thorn trying to protect her. Along the way, we meet a few other Alpha's who are to die for. Each provides something different to Roya to help protect her and keep her safe. I love how each of the guys is so different and each fits perfectly to aid their Omegas.

Merri Bright has created another amazing book and I cannot wait to continue reading more from her. I received an advanced copy from the author, I am providing this review of my own thoughts and opinions.

I’m in love with the Omegaverse world the Merri is creating in these books. Roya is such a badass. She’s not your typical Omega and holds her own again and again throughout the novel. Thorn is the tortured soul that doesn’t believe he’s deserving of a happily ever after. Kavin is the teddy bear mountain man who is the voice of reason despite his youth. Icarus is the devilish pirate that will steal your heart. And Altair is the noble prince that never wavers. This book had all my favorite omegaverse treats that always keep me coming back for more in additional to an amazing storyline with twists and turns that leave you wanting more and wonderful characters.
Merri also introduced us to Talon, Branton and Wren and brought back Valerie, all of which I hope to see more of!!

Between the world building, the oh so hot and very different Alphas, and Omega female that knows too many ways to kill someone, I was completely engrossed in this story.

The book details a fantasy adventure as Roya tries to flee to a safer place after being ousted from the Assassin’s Guild. Along for the ride is one dark, grumpy character named Thorn who loves her but rejects her. Along the way they pick up Kavin, Prince Altair, and a wyvern named Icarus as they try to avoid capture but also take down the bad guys.

Roya is a FMC who is clueless about what a Omega entails since it takes her awhile to realize she can have her cake and eat it too with the men. But I admire her resourcefulness and independence and the men are just so delectable in their own unique ways.

* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

I have never ever ever ever....

LOVED a book so EVERloving much. I'm so serious when I say that this series is the most amazingly written piece of art I've read. The writing is so smooth and every line comes together perfectly. I'm not left wondering, "Where'd that one dude go?" Or "How did that even happen?". The author dotted her i's and crossed her t's and tied those janks together!

The FMC is a complete bada$$ and her mates are the sexiest, knottiest men I've read about. They're my new boyfriends 💅 There's so much adventure, heartache, love, sexy shmexy time...it was a ride! 🔥

Y'all. I'm just so mindblown over this book. I'm *Knot even playing. See what I did there? 💁‍♀️ That should tell you about the 🍆. Go get book 1, book 2 and how ever many books this series has - y'all will be thanking me later 😘

I have been reading this series out of order and yah they are standalone so I only feel I miss a tad here and there. You may run into characters or hear past characters mentioned but you will NOT miss out if you do not read in order. That said...
The FMC was the youngest Failed Omega we got a glimpse of in book one. She spent the time after being rescued with the others but learning to be an assassin. She was trained by Thorne one of the MCs of the book. Upon graduation day everything changes and everything she thought changes. Well all but Thorne being on her side. Warlords want her... Wyverns want her... a regent want her dead... A pirate wants her... The guild master has nefarious plans for her... Her omega nature can no longer be hidden... and more secrets about other failed omegas come to light.

This is the 1st book I’ve read by this author and I loved everything about it so can’t wait to go and read her others.

I’m a massive fan of Omegaverse and this had everything included that I would want in an Omegaverse book plus lots more. We follow the story of Roya who is an awakened omega which are very rare in her world. Roya is also a trained assassin which I love making her a strong and doesn’t omega 🖤

I loved everything about this story, following Roya as she meets her Alphas (mates) and what happens along that journey, from poison, violence, kidnap and finding out some truths to secrets she always thought about. Having dragonkin in the story too is just an amazing bonus 😍

This is a multi POV book which I enjoy so much, it has some fabulous spice and overall a really nice story. The writing style flows effortlessly which brought the story to life for me 🖤

Loved everything about it.

This was an amazing journey, literally. Roya travels everywhere gaining mates and getting into heart pounding situations left and right. I absolutely loved her strength and resilience throughout the novel and her mates were able to counter her in the best ways. Speaking of mates the four were completely different and I did not get confused once which can happen a lot in rh books. I felt there was adequate time with her creating a personal relationship with each man and didn’t feel like one was thrown in there for the sake of numbers. More than the great spice I loved the depth and personal growth of every character that gave this story deeper meaning. I can’t wait to read more from this universe and I already have a sneaking suspicion of who will be involved in the next book.

Roya is a delightful lead. I enjoy stabby women XD
The fantasy storylines were cool and there were a lot of revelations that happened in this story. I kind of wish it was longer to explore the implications of who all her mates are. They're not a tidy situation like Vali and the generals. Roya's mates are heirs to distant countries (and someone with a death sentence hanging over their head). I would have loved there to be more story after the whole heat and HEA resolution. I wouldn't mind a whole additional book that covers all that lol.
The sex scenes weren't suuuper my cup of tea, only because really fluid-focused stuff squicks me a bit XD but that's not to say they were bad, they just weren't for me.
Overall a fun read, fun heroine, solid harem, and interesting world building :)

This is the second book in the Lost Lines series, which is an Omgeaverse in which Omegas were previously thought extinct.

I loved that this book focused on Roya, who was previously met in the first book of the series (The King's Omega) - she is a fierce, sassy FMC focused on being her own woman and fighting her own battles. Which makes the Alpha's around her have to fight that much harder to prove their worth.

I absolutely love the author's writing style and story telling - these books have a great combination of angst, sass, spice (omg the knotting *chef's kiss*) and more all wrapped up into an amazing story with a HEA.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

So like...Merri's books just trick you - you open them, start reading and everything feels so light and not serious and fun and then BOOM!
It is 200 pages later, you haven't eaten, the tea you made is cold and there is tears streaming down your face - both from the angst and need to throttle the characters and scream
YOU ARE WORTHY OF LOVE! JUST TAKE IT YOU IDIOT!!
and also from how real, amazing, deep and agonizing the love these characters share is.
So, yeah, this author tricks me every time in the best possible way, leaving me in a book hangover that of which can be cured only from another story, I will crumble and die when all the books and novellas run out and I will have to wait. WAIT! To get my next dose of these hilarious, heart-wrenching, scorching hot stores
