He's a werewolf. She's human. When a chance encounter leaves them both craving more, will his shifter secret scare her away from true love?
Jennie
Jennie has been looking forward to her vacation in Scotland with her two best friends. Life has been rough since her divorce, and this trip will give her a chance to enjoy herself.
Sudden turbulence on the plane lands Jennie in the arms of a big, strong, and gorgeous man. When he later prevents a thief from getting away with her purse, Jennie is captivated. But he disappears before she can learn who he is. Knowing only his first name, she has no way to find him.
But she’s in for a surprise when they arrive at their destination on the west coast of Scotland.
Trevor
Trevor can’t forget the blond beauty from the plane. Her smile, and how she felt pressed up against him, has his protective instincts going into overdrive. Not to mention other basic instincts.
But they’re not the same, and he should stay away from her. Jennie is human, and getting involved with her can only lead to misery. As a powerful wolf, he is expected to settle down with a female of his kind. A human can only be a temporary distraction.
There’s only one problem. Jennie is staying at a cottage just a few hundred yards from his estate. And he can’t resist the temptation to pay her a visit.
This series is complete and consists of eight books.
This is a very smutty book that lacks structured plot, in my opinion. I appreciate the storytelling and the romance, but I'm hung up on a few things. The biggest being that throughout the book one of the people we were given the perspective of was a total douche, and it was portrayed that way from the beginning. It's also shown that he has issues understanding what "No" and "Not interested" mean. He doesn't pick up on very obvious signals, intentionally because he can't believe that someone couldn't be interested in all he has to offer. ("A man should provide for his woman financially as well as physically." which, great, a little sexist, but great; however, I'm still getting molestation vibes my guy).
The MMC, additionally, doesn't have a lot of personality (once again, just my take). Great in bed, rich... saves FMC multiple times, but like... interests? I think at one point he mentioned visiting sheep on his estate, but that's genuinely all I can recall about his personality and interest.
Not to say I hated this book. There were some really good/fun plot beats that had me drawn in and I enjoyed the ride of this book. There were some great moments that made it so I certainly didn't regret reading this book. For one, the non consensual touching (it's not to bad, not like triggering I wouldn't think) is construed as very bad and unacceptable. I've read more than a few paranormal romance books where lack of consent is almost seen as sexy? So I liked that the author was sure to let the audience know that that crap isn't cool. I really liked the FMC and her backstory. I liked her relationship with her friends and the entire vibe that their group had going. I liked the romance between the FMC and the MMC, their chemistry was definitely there and I enjoyed all of their interactions. I will probably continue reading this series later, but not right now. I'll come back after a break and when my TBR decreases a bit.
I gave 2 stars for the sex. I feel bad but Michael just gave me the creeps. And I could never read his book. He was pushy, creepy, he didn't understand why he couldn't convince Jennie to be with him. Even after forced kisses, more than once, and talking to her like he was better than her and like she belonged to him. EVEN AFTER SHE TOLD HIM MANY TIMES SHE WASNT INTERESTED! and her friends and their men didn't really stand up for Jennie. And then tree sad the party when they said Michael if be was ok and to let them know if be need anything, once Jennie went off to be with her true mate, Trevor.
Ok so two stars for the sex and Trevor. And even then he was annoying because be took strangers words about Jennie being engaged to Michael. Even when Jennie had been sleeping with Trevor. And then he ran off like a baby instead if confronting her. I hate that stupid unnecessary drama.
If your going to write about a foreign country do lots of research. Use more than one resource. If your going to write live scenes then find words that are suitable. Especially in different continents.
A Chanel is a gutter at the side of a road for dirt , debris and rainwater to travel along. Or a small dip around an autopsy table to allow the blood to be rinsed away. It’s a sewer for all kinds of things to travel along , to keep a city, town , village or road clean. Between England and France it’s a narrow gap between countries for the sea to travel through. It’s not even a medical term.
Jennie writes romance novels, but takes the time with her friends to travel to Scotland, en route she literally falls into Trevor, who can’t help but feel enamoured with the sweet girl who he keeps bumping into, but fate puts her exactly where they both need to be. What happens when she discovers that the shifter world is real and not just a story on her books. Nice read, cute story and plot, the characters are nice. Lots of angst, and lots of sweet moments. This had potential to be a great read but it never quite got to that point.
Jennie is on a trip to Scotland with her girlfriends, their husbands, and their friend, Michael. Michael needs to find a mate within three months, and he has set his sights on Jennie. Jennie has a few incidents and is rescued by Trevor, who stopped her falling on the plane, and saved her purse from a snatcher. Things follow on a path from there.
Author has some rough edges that need smoothing out. Plot is reasonable and characters need more dimension. Having James show up at Trevor's house was too abrupt. And the random werewolves changing by her hiding spot were too random and not explained or used again later. Just like the 3 guys on the beach. Random. The random stuff needs to be blended better. Good vibes otherwise. Light reading.
I haven't read a complete paranormal romance in years. I have started a few but after 3 or 4 boring chapters, I gave up. This book, however, was excellent.
When I read a book, I immerse myself completely. These characters made me feel love, hate, despair & triumph. And I had the occasional cry. The descriptive narrative made it easy to enjoy following along the beautiful, rugged Scottish countryside.
I love shifter stories and have read plenty, this is the first time reading this author and I was not disappointed. The plot was great the characters well written and I do love strong women because Women Rock !!!! So again I did enjoy the read and looking forward to more of these strong alpha men and the women who capture their heart !!!!!
A surprisingly good story about discovering the world of shifters and about changing expectations. If you are looking for a book that is more about the romance than the story, this is not the book you are looking for. But if you are looking for an endearing story with some romance, I felt like this book was a fun quick read.
She is human but her girlfriends mates are shifters. One of the group decided that Jennie will be his mate no matter what she wants and Michael is determined about it. Trevor steps in to her life and life takes a different turn for her. Great characters and story line. Enjoyed the book.
Really enjoyed enjoyed this story. It was good about a Wolf shifter. And his friend who live in a place where people came to visit. It's known for warewolves. But nobody who really doesn't know what to do with it. Butwo friends, they're mates and a friend of theirs gets a guy invited and he's interested in her, but she's not interested in him.
What a story! From Jennie meeting Trevor at the beginning I was hooked! I liked how it alternated telling the story from people’s different perspectives. The chemistry between our two main characters was undeniable, and the twists and turns as the story progressed with some I just didn’t see coming! I’m eager to read book two to see what’s next for two other characters!
🌶🌶🌶.5 multiple spicy open door scenes, but damn they were good scenes! I can't stand Michael and will likely skip his book unless Jennie comes back. The scenery was beautiful, and the progression of this was so good! It had me guessing and wanting to know more with each page turn!
Thoroughly enjoyed this story and the characters; shifters of different types and their discovery by a human with no idea of the other world around her.
This is a really great book, the characters are well written so much so you can picture them clearly, how the characters and story develops is wonderful. I liked the fact that it wasn't predictable like many I have read
Loved every steamy word of this story. The build up was perfectly executed, not drawn out or anything like that. The story was great on how it introduce each character and their story and let it play out. Loved it !
The base story wasn't bad, but the execution left a lot to be desired. I found myself more angry than entertained while reading, until eventually I just stopped caring about these characters. I don't think I'll continue the series.
New to this author I enjoyed the storyline.I really liked trevor and his friend.this series is called highland shifters but the next book he is not from there?
I enjoyed the book and the chemistry/bond between the two. Once they mated, they couldn’t stand to be apart. One of the strongest bonds I’ve read about.
