"A Plane Story" can be summarized in one word - Bollywood. Being a Bollywood buff, you can see why I enjoyed this book. A fictional story set in a real event, it follows Tara and Dev who end up stranded at an airport while making their way to break up a wedding. Tara and Dev are opposites in every way, and that gives way to some exciting banter between the two. As they try to figure out how to survive an unforeseen detour and somehow make it to the venue before the wedding occurs, they start questioning whether their original plans are the right ones after all. To say that this book had me smiling all the way through would be an understatement. If you liked the movie "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", this is the book for you!

I received an ARC and am giving my honest review voluntarily.

• Bhai start kaha kare? Paris me? Where these two nutjobs, one, an obsessively prim and proper Tara and two, an overenthusiastic Punjabi dude, Dev inadvertently and against all odds, end up?

•What are the chances of them being on the same flight to whack the same Parisian wedding happening in, well Land of Love?
(Uss majal me mat pado ab, they're a lot to unpack in that zone)

•Dev is your Geet from Jab We Met and Tara is your Aditya (minus the part where he is rich as hell).

•A Plane Story would totally make a Bollywood blockbuster, I can totally see it (Manifesting for this 🕯️)

•Matt Coleridge needs a whack in the head. Anagha is total grey area. I can't even decide if I like that witch or not.

•All that Hindi dialogues in between HAVE MY ENTIRE HEART LIKE YES, FINALLY MY DESI DREAMS ARE COMING TRUE.

•There were about 20 different places where I went , 'yaar kitna kamina admi hai ye' on Matt. Like oh my god, i hate him. Soooo much.

•Dev Thakur NEEDS to have access to my address this moment. Like sir, please drop by *puppy eyes*. I might surely steal him and store him for safekeeping (in my bedroom probably. Kya kare, thoda pyar kar baithe)

•As for Tara, Bhen ji needs to chill. I can relate to her most of the times cause been there done that.

• Aur ji kya hi kahe, all the scenes in Paris are just AMAZING.

• Dev Thakur can push me off a plane (without the parachute) and I'd yell out a 'thank you' before touching grass, please and thanks. [That is how bad I have it]

•Dev and I'd be besties in some other universe where I don't want to screw him, please and thanks.

•The 'Mudit' scene was HILARIOUS.

•I'm this close to starting a petition for a second part like yes, gimme.

• There is absolutely no "smut" so when I say I HAVE IT BAD, you know I mean it.

[TRANSLATION FOR MY NON-HINDI FOLKS

•mujhe kaunsa.....karna hai - i don't think i need to impress this guy.
•Dev humare..... jeete - people like dev and me don't live to impress other people.
•bhai start kaha kare- where do I start?
•uss majal me mat pado - don't fall into that trap.
• yaar kitna kamina admi hai - what an actual dipshit.
• kya kare thoda pyar kar baithe - don't blame me love made me crazy

❤️BOOK REVIEW 📚❤️
TITLE : A PLANE STORY
AUTHOR : ANMOL MALIK
Publication : Harper Collins Publishers India
Genre : Fiction
Format : Paperback
Pages : 275

“Love is an extra-ordinary thing-- in that it makes extra ordinary things happen."

🖍️ The statement of Bollywood actor 'Hrithik Roshan' on the cover page and the title of the book attracted me to read this one and I am very happy that my decision to read this wonderful book was completely right.
🖍️ This story, is written around two people Tara(female protagonist) and Dev(Male protagonist). They’re strangers who are headed to Paris for the same purpose.
🖍️ A person named Matt is both Tara's boss and boyfriend, and he is set to marry Dev’s girlfriend, Anagha, in Paris. Tara and Dev have decided to win back their exes, to give one last chance at saving their relationships.
🖍️ A new twist in the story comes when an unscheduled and emergency landing in Heathrow airport London due to the 2010’s Eyjafjallajökull volcanic eruption.
🖍️ Do Dev and Tara reach the Parisian wedding on time? Do they both realize how many times their paths have unknowingly crossed with each other before?
🖍️ The whole story, written in a fast-paced manner with a great writing style, keeps the reader hooked to the book in many ways.
🖍️ Imagine that if you are traveling in a plane and your plane is delayed due to some natural calamity, then the anxiety and panic you will feel is exactly the same experience that comes while reading this book.
🖍️ The narration is so brilliant that I would not be surprised that in the times to come, a film will be made on the story of this book in Bollywood. (Netflix! I would watch the hell out of this!)
🖍️ All the characters are well developed and the storyline is beautifully crafted by the author.
🖍️ At some places in the book, rich vocabulary has been used but it is not so much that you cannot understand the plot.
🖍️ I hope that I will get to read more interesting and creative books by the author in the future.

Thanks for Reading 😍

A Plane story by Anmol Malik 🌼
I went into this book blind still I expected it to be a fairly predictable nonetheless fun read, but boy was I wrong!

This is the story of Dev and Tara, they meet on a plane to Paris both have one goal on their mind to stop a wedding. Wait! there is a twist his ex is getting married to hers. But everything comes to a screeching haly, as they're left stranded on tha airport because of a freak disruption.
Will they be able to stop the wedding from happening?
Will they explore how good they could be together?

A Plane story by Anmol Malik surprised the hell out of me. It was a breath of fresh air with something that lightens up your mood. The story is truly captivating and intricately designed to evoke emotions, the author has the gift of getting right us into the plot and truly experiencing it along with the characters. Both Tara and Dev being polar opposites, balanced each other out. Their banter was was so good, I freaking loved every second of it.The whole premise was filled with drama and fun, and I loved every minute of it and I wish there's more of this tale.

A Plane Story, written by Anmol Malik, is majorly set at Heathrow Airport, where the protagonists, Dev and Tara, were struck for over a week because of a volcanic eruption in Iceland. Coincidently their past and future were also entangled with each other along with their present.

Undoubtedly, the ending took my heart away. It is very romantic, realistic, and cute that I can’t help but read it over and over again. The characterization is done superbly in this book, right from their appearances to their behaviors and backstories.

The plot of the novel is perfectly crafted. Each chapter brings in a new experience and a refreshing storyline. Another bit that I liked about the story is Ursa Minor metaphor; it’s stunning and quite reflective. The sparkling book cover is amazing and definitely an eye-catcher.

'Being sad is a lot of work', he says suddenly. 'Remember the good memories, feel sad. Remember the sad memories, make the effort of crying. Then hydrate. It's a lot ya.'

Prudent Tara Nath and Reckless Dev Thakur have boarded a flight from Mumbai to Paris to break the marriage of their respective exes who are getting married to each other. Tara is cheated by Matt but is still running behind him. Dev is 'personally' bankrupt because his startup 'Matchbox' failed miserably. However, he's committed to winning Anagha back. Both of our protagonists lives comes to a halt when they get stuck on Heathrow airport because of the sudden eruption of volcano Eyjafjallajökull. Tara and Dev dislike each other initially because of how different they are. But on getting stuck at Heathrow they have to stay together and in doing so they realize they can help heal each other.

It was the sparkling nature of the book cover that gave me the 'spark' to pick this one up ( Blurb also had some role though). To be honest, my expectations were not so high because I'm not that fond of love stories. But this book came as as a surprise to me. I was immersed in the story since the very beginning and remained so till the very end. Even though the plot didn’t seem out of the box, Anmol made every chapter seem fresh because of the way she knitted the characters. You'll find yourself laughing out loud every now and then because of the funny one-liners, conversations and sometimes situations. There's a lot of humor involved in the narration but it never appears to be overwhelming, it fits perfectly in the scenario. I thought deep but always arrived on the same conclusion that there's not even a single dull moment in the novel. Chapters names based on the security instructions which one has to pay attention to while travelling in a plane. Many a time reading only them brought a smile to my face.

Enough of the laughter therapy. Let me shift my focus towards the other aspects of the book. Story runs on a fast pace so one will never get bored. There are several hindi words also used in the conversations which adds a 'desi' touch. Talking about the characters, there are only five worth mentioning viz. Tara, Dev, Matt, Anagha and Uncle Eddie. Dev impressed me the most. His recklessness suits him. He just lives in the moment like there's no tomorrow. No regrets, no sorrows just go with the flow. But he doesn't overshadow Tara and lets her create a charm of her own. The story has a Bollywood-ish ending but this time I've no problem with it and to my own surprise I am satisfied how the 'tamasha' ended.

Those who are looking for a light read with a dashing dose of laughter then A PLANE STORY is a one stop solution. But remember it's a PLANE STORY not just A PLAIN STORY (You'll be able to decode this on finishing the book).

Recommended? WITHOUT A QUESTION.

Hilarious! A Plane Story is anything but plain. After reading some mediocre romcoms lately, I am reminded of what a good romcom looks like.
"You!"
"You forgot the 'Thank' part."

First Impressions:
I am on a baggage belt, being served up witty remarks, sneak peeks of their pasts, weighing down reality of the crammed airport. The premise draws you in and keeps you firmly into the book just like Tara and Dev are stuck in the Heathrow airport.
Disclaimer: This story is for anyone who loves a romcom and understands Hindi. There are parts of dialogue in Hindi, however the author has provided a glossary for anyone not knowing the language.

What I Liked:
1. Everything! The writing was effortless, characters quirky enough and the story moves at a breakneck speed that doesn't give you time to ruminate.
2. The character depths of Tara and Dev hit me the most. Both have a childhood story that could make you sob into your pillow. Yet the story stays so in-the-moment that it doesn't allow you to sink into sadness. There is something that wrecks immediately and you are pulled into the reality or more accurately their present timeline.
3. The ease of this relationship between Tara and Dev is utterly idealistic. They don't have misunderstandings. When they say something that hurts the other, they go on their own paths and reunite after some time. The reunion dialogue is so incomplete that you envy how they have such good understanding. Just like that, they are back and okay and ready for the next adventure. Even during that time away, they are thinking of each other like bringing back some shower tokens, buying breakfast, adding them to a waitlist or even secure funding for a falling business.

What Could Be Better:
1. The proofreading could have been better. There were some places where the sentences are cut off midway, or phrases don't make sense. If you are a writer, you will know these sentences where you stop writing one session and pick up in the next. Didn't expect these to make it to the final cut.
2. The dialogues in Hindi could be done away. I understand the effect they leave on a reader due to the nuances the language adds. But without those, this book has the potential to reach a wider audience.

Best Scene:
The first morning after their plane lands in Heathrow. Tara thinks Dev is gone but finds him at a cafe. She goes to him almost on auto-pilot and feels warmth in the knowledge that Dev is still around.

The hype around this book has been unquestionable and, admittedly, that made me not only eager to get my hands on it but also terrified to read it. I mean, what if I was to be the one person that didn’t love it as much as the others? (That seems silly now because of how truly mesmerizing it was in the most realistic way).
A Plane Story by Anmol Malik is my first book by the author and all I can say is I just loved it. I really love the story plus the writing style of Anmol is amazing.
This is a refreshing love story of a boy and a girl who meet under unlikely circumstances. The story is narrated from Dev's and Tara's point of view, which made it more interesting. Dev's and Tara's ex's  are getting married. They are going to Paris to break their ex's apart but luck doesn’t favour them. Their flight is diverted and they’re stuck together on Heathrow airport. While at the airport they realize how lonely they are and grow closer.
How a person makes you feel has nothing to do with the amount of time you have known them for. A few days with someone else can do  what many years with someone else didn’t.

Heartbroken and shattered by their breakup, Tara and Dev decide to crash the wedding of their ex, and win them back. Little didn’t they know that they would the travelling together in the same plane, to the same destination and to the same wedding. The story moves from hate at first sight to friends to planning to break the wedding together. But everything goes haywire when their plane had to be landed under an emergency. Did they get off the airport, stop their wedding and win back their love? well, make it a point to read this book to know what happened.

REVIEW

This was a light and breezy read for me. The author has crafted her novel beautifully with just 2 dominant and 2 minor characters. Tara and Dev stole the show. Their little arguments, with dev’s comical replies kept me reading the book without a pause. It was a no nonsense, fun and heart warming story. The ending is just what you will need. The writing was simple and I really loved the author’s effort to write a glossary having the English translation for all the Hindi phrases used throughout the book. I recommend this book to everyone who is looking out for a light read.

Chance encounters are something which often dictate the fate of our lives . We usually have huge amount of expectations sometimes even unreasonable ones from the known beings but usually its the strangers who help us sail through even in the most unfortunate times.

This book is a tale of two such individuals Tara and Dev who are hell bent on getting their exes Matt and Anagha back. They board the same flight to Paris but unfortunately get stuck due to a natural calamity. And there begins a tickling love story with lot many bizzare moments and humorous stuff to behold your attention.

The novel is undoubtedly pretty entertaining .The main thing which strikes you is the character development which is beyond a doubts its USP. By the blurb or even at the start I felt like it will be a quintessential love story but the way Anmol has handled the plot building, speaks volumes about her skillset. Just like her father Anu Malik ji who fascinates us with his impeccable talent , it is quite heartening to see the daughter following the footsteps. And not to forget the beautiful enchanting cover that attracts you like a magnet to pick the book readily.

The title and the cover page illustrates the story frame apparently. This book is all about the story of the two life wrecked souls, who are wandering to reunite with their ex. One with love another one with revenge. Because both the ex are going to be together. This is a great twist in this story.

Dev and Tara are the two protagonists in this novel. Life with grief and drifting to reunite. But fate is conspiring with the unexpected twist. It doesn't seem like misfortune. Because here, in this novel fate is cooking another direction with a blissful life. While Dev and Tara boarded in the plain to stop their ex's marriage the misfortune happens. The volcanic eruption makes them delay to reach their landing. In those states, how the both drifted souls reveal their emptiness of life?
And how they are perceiving their company in that weird situation?
Did they prevent their ex's marriage? Or what happens in the eruption?
Did new love erupt? To know the destiny conspiring love story give it a read.

The language is rational. The plot is conquering with an exceptional love story. The character plays prominently. This novel made me feel apart from the fictional love story.

What a brilliantly fabulous cover that has the power to entice me into buying this book and set aside my rest of the TBR to begin with this one first!

And the story inside is equally beautiful, with its own fun elements and hilarious conversations. The quirky lead characters have been created well-enough to keep me hooked to the book. I simply couldn't put this book down before I reached the end of it, I devoured it overnight.

In year 2010, the volcano Eyjafjallajökull eruption led to emergency state in Iceland and European airspaces had to be shut down immediately. The book takes on a fictional story set in that factual event. The protagonists Dev and Tara are seated next to each other on their flight from Mumbai to Paris and later get stuck at an airport because of an emergency landing en route.

Now what's peculiar about the two is that they're complete opposites of each other- Dev is reckless and Tara is well, organised. But they both are travelling to Paris because they want to crash and stop a wedding. Dev's ex Anagha is getting married to Tara's ex Matt. And what happens next is a fun-filled adventure.

Quite fun that each chapter has been titled with a safety instruction that we hear on an airplane ride. It's an extensively feel-good novel that was much needed for me, for I had an exhausting week. I'm glad that I picked it up and would certainly recommend anyone who's interested into feel-good romance. Sparkling five stars from me!

Book: A plane story
Version: Paperback
Author: Anmol Malik

Love is in the air…
How do you know you have fallen in love with someone? To what extent we can go to get back to love?
Well, I could get a few of these answers while reading this book which is out and out romantic.
Title: It is a very catchy title that invokes curiosity amongst the readers about instances that happen in the plane.
Cover page: The cover page is attractive, the Eiffel tower picture on the cover page adds glory and vibrancy to it.
Story/Plot: Tara Nath and Dev Thakur, are fellow passengers in the plane that is heading towards Paris. They both didn’t strike off initially.
Introducing Tara Nath, our anxiety kitten as of now in the plane, she is a go-getter and for a while has been sailing smoothly in her life until she had a break up with her boss. Matt is a sophisticated alpha male who had his stint with Taran and is now all set to marry Anagha.
Dev Thakur is an entrepreneur who is on the verge of a massive failure. He didn’t give ears to his cousin when asked to spend the money meticulously. Anagha, his girlfriend then, had her own set of standards which did not equate with Dev. They did break up. Dev now wants to give them a second chance for his love. So, our hero gets a ticket for Paris and exhausts his bank account. Again, he wants to visit Paris to stop the wedding of his ex-girlfriend Anagha.
Now there is a twist in the plot, an unscheduled and emergency landing in Heathrow airport London due to the Eyjafjallajökull volcanic eruption. (Please note that the volcanic eruption is a real incident). So, there are thousands of passengers who are stranded in the airport and clueless about their journey as all planes are cancelled due to atmospheric conditions.
Both the protagonists undergo quite a lot of experience in the airport and wait for the planes to take off with the main aim to cancel the wedding of their respective ex-es.
The story and narration are amazing and readers are glued to the book to know what happens next. Characterization is good. There are some instances where readers can connect to the story/incidents.
Will Dev and Tara reach Paris?
Will they be able to do what they had planned?
Do read the book and co-journey with Dev and Tara.

A Plane Story is a book that reads like a movie, literally with Dev and Tara alternating narrations, but also with the interspersing of a third person as a narrator who breaks the fourth wall to set the context of some scenes. The plot has an interesting concept and I loved how Anmol explores the concept of coincidences, not just once, but at multiple points in the story. The storytelling is sharp and groovy, which keeps the reader turning the pages. Another interesting aspect of the story is that a major part of it occurs in a confined space, and yet it feels like a journey because you get to experience multiple emotions as well as characters. I liked the fact that each thing that was mentioned in the story holds context, and it comes up at a certain point in the narration, be it Sandy’s Sandwiches or Manny. The emotional theme that the book explores in terms of relationships, old and new, especially the way to walk away from certain ones, and some that you should never walk away from was something I really liked. The climax is very Bollywood-like, and oddly, it felt fitting to the crazy journey that you undertake while reading the book.

Coming to the characters, both of our protagonists, Dev and Tara are complex characters and as we read the book, their personalities start emerging. I liked how Anmol uses the entire storyline to develop their personas and present to us these flawed, crazy people who are literally stuck in a series of unfortunate events. As characters, I loved how they influence each other and transform themselves into something each of them would have never done. The character sketches as wonderful and the details that make them unique are well mentioned.

Quirky aspect of the book that I would like to mention is that the entire story is told like a journey with chapter titles being in-flight announcements, and the same holds true for the introduction and the last page. The Harry Potter references, and the very desi Hindi announcements add a nice touch to the storytelling.

Overall, this is a story that would be loved by people who like to read a love story that is quite filmy and are hardcore romantics for it has some moments that cannot be described anything but cheesy, but they fit perfectly into the mold of the story.

Dev Thakur and Tara Nath are awkward co-passengers on a flight from Mumbai enroute Paris. Their flight gets rerouted to Heathrow airport due to a volcano eruption, spoiling their plans to rush to Paris and stop the wedding of their respective ex-es. Dev is bankrupt after failing to succeed in his startup venture but hastily bought a flight ticket for Paris with the little money left with him, hopeful for one last chance at wooing his ex-girlfriend Anagha.

Tara is also on the same flight unable to accept that her ex-boyfriend and ex-boss Matt chose Anagha over her. As their last-minute plans are interrupted by a random volcano eruption, Dev and Tara are stuck with each other on the airport till flights resume. Will Dev and Tara be able to reach Paris in time to stop the marriage and what circumstances lead to their respective breakups forms the rest of the story.

The author Anmol takes a real incident of Air travel disruption after the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull eruption and weaves a fictional story around it. The narration is pacy with never a dull moment even though majority of the story takes place in one place – Heathrow airport. The author handles this challenging aspect well, of a story that revolves around minimum characters struck at one place with multiple challenges thrown at them. This also increases the intrigue of the reader to know what happens next and how it is going to end.

Both Dev and Tara’s characters have layers which are revealed as the story progresses, of which Dev will win more accolades as he carries more suspense to his behavior. The contrast between the protagonists is also well highlighted, balancing out the fun and emotional aspects. The language is lucid and will appeal more to the younger readers.

As the story begins on a plane and moves forward in an airport, there are subtle analogies of life and travel. An interesting theme – each chapter of the book is named after a safety instruction announced during the flight travel. I personally liked the glossary provided at the end by the author for non-Hindi speaking readers to refer to, to get gist of the interesting anecdotes shared by the characters.

Pick this one if you like contemporary, light-hearted stories.

‘A Plane Story’ is rightfully named, as this book by Anmol Malik, is a flight journey with smoothness, turbulence and most importantly a safe landing.

Dev Thaku and Tara Nath are co-passengers from Mumbai to Paris to break a marriage of ‘his’ ex to ‘her’ ex. But, the universe had other plans. Their flights get rerouted to Heathrow airport for an emergency landing due a volcanic eruption.
Dev is nothing but a mess- with bankruptcy and failing in his self-structured business. Tara, on the other hand, had a serious relationship with her ex-boss Matt who is about to wed Dev’s love, Anagha. Both the protagonists are poles apart but are stuck together, waiting, reproaching the cause of respective breakups and hoping for their plan to succeed. Having them to each other and endless hours of time- Dev and Tara get talking, knowing each other’s backgrounds and pasts not even realizing when and how the two two became so important for each other, more than their exes.

‘A Plane Story’ is fresh and unique with a backdrop of a real incident of air travel disruption after the 2010 Eyjafjallajokull eruption. The narration is engrossing and there isn’t too much of extravaganza in the storyline except honest fictional events. With no extra elaboration, this book has a pace of its own that would make you stick around to find how it ends.

The characters are charming- childish, flawed, many times reckless and above all adults making mistakes and holding each other’s back emotionally. Every aspect is well narrated and highlighted. I loved how Malik throws emotions wherever we least expect. Her writing is vivid with imaginations. The snippets of the pasts of Tara and Dev have surely made the book intense and sharp. I constantly admired things Dev did for Tara and vice versa. And obviously, who wouldn't go full Aww-ing with the developing chemistry between Dev and Tara. The storytelling is appealing just like everyone’s preferred young adult novel should be.
This book is a perfect definition of turbulence and riot in terms of both personal life and delayed flights.

🗼How about an unusually exciting plane journey whereupon two passengers are travelling to Paris to crash the wedding of their exes and woo them back?
--
🗼Tara Nath And Dev Thakur are coincidentally on the same flight from Mumbai enroute Paris to crash their exes'wedding, when their flight gets rerouted to Heathrow airport due to a volcanic eruption. Dev is bankrupt after failing in his startup, but wants to have one last chance to woo his ex-girlfriend Anagha back. On the other hand, Tara is unable to accept that her ex-boyfriend Matt cheated on her and chose Anagha. As fate would have it, their impulsive plans are interrupted and they are stuck with each other in the airport till flights resume.
--
🗼At first, they have an immense dislike for each other despite being co-passengers. Slowly they take to the other with friendly banter and realise that they have what the other lacks. Soon both of them are in a quandary—to get back their exes or to have a new life with each other. Will Dev and Tara be able to reach Paris in time to break the wedding?
--
🗼The author has used the real incident of air travel disruption after the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull eruption and beautifully woven a fictional story around it. The narration is fast-paced with majority of the story taking place in one place – Heathrow airport. I liked how both the main characters progress and especially loved Dev's character. There is an ample dose of humour sprinkled throughout with stunning descriptions of Paris!
--
🗼I was tempted to pick this book by looking at its attractive cover and Anmol has surpassed my expectations by raising the bar to such a humorously witty story with adorable characters! I highly recommend this book for everyone and especially beginners looking for a fun romantic read

🇫🇷 BOOK REVIEW 🇫🇷

🛫A perfect rom-com recommendation for a quick and consoling read. So if you are into this genre then you should definitely look into this one.

🛫I was extremely excited to read this as I've already read the other book by her i.e the "three impossible wishes" and guess what? I absolutely loved it. The story, writing style, everything, it's just so promising. So on that account, I had a lot of expectations from this too and well I am happy to say that it legit did reach out till there.

🛫So moving towards the story, Dev and Tara are two co-passengers travelling to Paris to break out in their ex's wedding. What a lucky conjunction right?! Unfortunately, their plans go awry due to a volcanic eruption which resulted in their flights relocation to the Heathrow Airport. Meanwhile let us know few things about our protagonists:

🛫Dev: His life was a complete mess. He was bankrupt after miserably failing in his startup endeavour but nevertheless, he got his hands on the expensive flight ticket hoping to convince her lady love and deter the marriage.

🛫Tara: Comparatively her life was slightly less messed up than that of Devs. Her ex-boyfriend was over her and this thought hurt her emotions sloppily.

🛫Now the question that arises is, will they be able to reach the venue by time? Also, what was the reason behind the coincidence meetup of Dev and Tara?

🛫A beauty in itself, this is what I would call it if I had to describe it in just a line. A perfect book to light up your mood, you will never know when you get such engrossed to chuckle at the one-liners. Not to skip the incredibly elegant cover, I mean how could someone miss it? Okay, I guess this should be enough to convince ya'll to read this book.
Happy reading 🛫

Ok, for starters, I knew this was going to be a fun ride when I read the summary and it didn’t disappoint. Also, it has been so long since I read a romance (or any book for that matter). Ok, so, I loved the plot. The idea that two people chase their exes and then end up falling for each other is simply awww…!

I appreciate the language used by the author. It is witty, with impressive backreferences that I really enjoyed. The narrative, as a result, is beautifully funny and romantic. The storyline will warm your heart up but doesn’t get cheesy or mushy. Also, the titles of each chapter referring to the flight safety guidelines…loved those! Very clever!

As for the characters, I liked Dev’s more than Tara’s. I thought more information about Dev helped in forming a better judgment and that was lacking with Tara’s character. Matt and Anagha were given proper introductions and backgrounds. The setting in France was beautifully done, I could witness everything through the looking glass of the author’s words.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book. It is a short and interesting read.

What I Did Not Like
I would have liked to know more about Tara, a little more background perhaps. Also, a couple of instances just seemed to have sprouted suddenly. They did not mar the story in any way but those could have been handled better.

Other Details

A Plane Story is written by Anmol Malik who has worked as a screenwriter among other things. No wonder the hold on the narrative was strong. I enjoyed her writing style and would definitely look out to read more of her works.

Would I Recommend It?

Of course! If you enjoy quick, romantic reads then don’t miss out on this one.

👉𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐒 :-
🙂 Cover of the book is nice glittering shiny & eye catching.
🙂 Writing style of the book is different. It's quite different from the streamline books & common love stories. Author beautifully penned down her imaginative world in the book.
🙂 Language used in the book is easily understandable but the depth meaning it has is something that makes you connected with the book more profoundly.
🙂 Characterization of the book is minimal. With minimum characters author tried to get the most of it. Here author developed all the characters perfectly & portrayed them in an impressive way.
🙂 The narration of the book is crisp & beautiful. It's hard to find such a plotline which is intriguing engaging along with an emotional journey.
🙂 Pace of the book is good. Here author narrated the book in a very fast way but you are not going to feel any kind of frame drop while reading it

💞 Dev's life is a mess because he is reckless. While chasing the woman of his dreams, he ran into the love of his life. Tara's is a mess as his ex is getting married to her ex, and so two strangers meet on a plane to Paris on their way to break the wedding. When a freak volcanic eruption disrupts air travel globally, the two are left stranded on Heathrow. And that's when the real tamasha begins.

Welcome onboard Flight APS through London, Paris and Ludhiana. Please pay attention to the safety demonstration because things are going to get real weird, real fast.

💞 Are you bored of reading contemporary romance? Looking for something light yet interesting? Then 'a plane story' might be your best chance.

💞 Well plotted and wonderfully plotted story. I would say humour is a big plus! It helps you get hooked up and travel along with the protogonists. Dev is such a care free person and lives each and every moment in his life while Tara is quite emotional type with her own charm. Climax gives you a sort of movie feel, but its worth reading!!

Here's to the "A plane story" by Anmol Malik 📚

"Mohabbat bhi zindagi ki tarah hoti hai, har mod aasaan nahin hota, har mod par khushi nahin milti, par jab hum zindagi ka saath nahin chhorte, to mohabbat ka saath kyon chhorein."- from the bollywood movie mohabbatein!

The way the above line is filmy, the whole book was filmy, cheesy and cute!! It was just like, I was watching a Bollywood movie, full of drama!!

A Plane Story" by Author Anmol Malik has two fascinating and appealing heroes. Dev Thakur has a bankrupt beginning up and Tara Nath is going to be terminated. He needs to win back his ex and she needs to win back her ex (and furthermore ex-chief) who end up being getting hitched to one another!

In any case, destiny has something different arranged. Their flight gets redirected and arrives on Heathrow air terminal because of a volcanic emission (it is a genuine episode that occurred and impacted different flights).

I got this book due to its lovely cover and Dev and Tara's excursion was not really good or bad amusing! I anticipated that it should be a messy romantic tale, rather I observed it detonating with clever exchanges and dramatization.

The story is absolutely un putdownable and I enjoyed the titles of the sections looking like the security directions in a flight. The language utilized by author is sharp and the utilization of hindi words makes the discoursed practical. Characters create with the advancement of story.

The Glossary te in the end will assist perusers who by chance not know hindi words a little. I would suggest this incredible work by an author who will certainly make you giggle.

Title: A Plane Story
Author: Anmol Malik

Review:

“A Plane Story” by Anmol Malik is a beautiful and heart-warming love story that blooms in unexpected and extraordinarily unanticipated circumstances. This fictional tale nestled in a true event takes off from Mumbai with a number of elated and gleeful passengers. Sitting next to each other amongst this boisterous and jubilant crowd are two dejected strangers who as the story unfolds share lot in common.

In the window seat is sloppy and abstracted Dev Thakur and giving him company in this journey is sweet and simple Tara Nath. While both Tara and Dev are strangers, the problems that are haunting them and the mission they’ve strategized are by a striking coincidence the same. Dev’s ex Anagha Kapoor is getting married to Tara’s ex Matt Coleridge in the city of love, Paris. As their chase for their unrequited love becomes close, the ultimate agency of fate again strikes them in the most brutal way and they’re left stranded at Heathrow airport because of the volcanic eruption that has disrupted the air traffic. That’s all I want to reveal because from this point on the story truly takes off to unexpected heights. It will be unfair to drop spoilers, but if you’re looking for something that charms and cheers you up, take a bet on this book!

Overall, written in a simple and lucid language with strong characters and engrossing plot, “A Plane Story” is a fast paced entertaining read which keeps readers hooked till the end. A perfect treat for those who love reading romance 😉
Highly Recommended!

After the success of 'Three Impossible Wishes', Author Anmol Malik brings us another heartwarming love story!
.
Matt is getting married to Anagha in Paris; The Perfect Romantic Wedding. Good News Right? Not so much for Tara and Dev; the respective ex's of Matt and Anagha, who have boarded the same flight to Paris with the intention of winning them over.
.
After the startup process for 'Matchbox' fails miserably, Anagha was the only link to the normalcy of Dev's previous life. The life of his dreams. So with one last hope of saving their relationship, Dev embarks on his journey to Paris.
.
Matt was both Tara's boss and boyfriend, so him cheating on her came as quite an heartbreak. But scared to lose something she has invested so much of herself into, Tara books her flight for Paris.
.
But both of their plans come to a halt as they get stuck at the Heathrow Airport after the Eyjafjallajökull volcanic eruption! This is where most of our story is set!
.
Tara and Dev both have a very captivating personalities which keep the readers engaged in them. Their silly banters are definitely something to look forward to while reading the book.
.
This book will make you laugh, anxious, and will also make you feel a various other range of emotions while reading it. Dev and Tara's story is the definition of an ideal Rom-com with a wonderful ending.
.
Also, a special note of appreciation for the person who designed the cover. It's lovely!
.
This book is a must read!
.
Happy Reading~~~

Have you ever read a story that made your heart flutter with anxiety, your eyes water with laughter, and your spirits soar with delight? A Plane Story is one of those delightfully quirky tales that do all the above with each turn of the page. Dev and Tara’s lives are already entangled as their exes are betrothed to each other, but coincidences start to pile as they find themselves on the same plane to Paris; to break up one wedding! And as if that wasn’t enough drama, a freak volcanic eruption leaves them stranded at Heathrow. Things are fascinating from the get-go in this wonderfully weird tale.
This is the kind of love story that I live for. Unintended travel partners, disrupted plansand misadventures make a fabulous setting for a budding romance. And the author has the propensity to work with it like magic. Much like the sparkles in the cover, the interactions between Tara and Dev give off heated sparks as the two are polar opposites. The author has undeniably created two memorable characters who carve a niche in your head as you travel with them up until their last flight. I had anticipated that it would be a tale where the two inevitably ends up at a wedding, and some comedic drama would ensue, but the story has more layers than the straightforward tale it seems to be.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading the book and was hooked until the end. The plot wasn't rushed, the characters were relatable, and the scenes were enjoyable. Thus I recommend this book to all readers who are looking for a light read with charming elements. My rating is 5 stars.

A Plane Story
Anmol Malik.

✈️i cant get my eyes off the Sparking cover of the book also the catchy title

✈️the story is set between minimum characters which i like the most and the author doesn’t introduce unwanted characters. She sticks to the theme.

✈️as the title suggest the story is set in airplane but is also symbolic of the characters journeys and missed connections.

✈️Tara and Dev are on the same plane, both going to spoil the marriage of their respective exes Dev = Anagha , Tara = Matt

✈️During the journey a natural calamity occurs resulting in the Flight getting diverted.
(Real incident of Air travel disruption after the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in iceland year 2010)

✈️their flight does an emergency landing at Heathrow airport. the story moves around two characters Dev and Tara at Airport but still it never slows down

✈️The use of humor in between dialogues make it funny and a light read and the use of safety instructions as chapter titles makes it a very unique way to start each chapter.

✈️the glossory at the end of the book clarifying the Hindi dialogues is just as wittily written.

✈️The Twists , turns , Dialogues ,and all the travelling sightseeing and humour keep the readers eager to finish it.

✈️In terms of characters i like Tara. Her backstory and the way she and Dev meet.

✈️QOTD
Share me one safety instruction you remember during flight journey

Cabin Lights will now be dimmed

Happy Reading.
