During my time in Missouri, I explored the Ozarks, swam in the Mississippi River, played kickball and endless games of hide and seek with the neighborhood kids. Spending summers in Kentucky with my Grandmother, Ruth, are the fondest childhood memories for me.
At the age of thirteen, my family moved to Wisconsin to learn to farm. Yes, learn to farm! That was interesting. Taking city kids and throwing them on a farm with twenty-eight cows purchased from the Humane Society because they had been abused, was interesting. I learned to milk cows, the ins and outs of a breeding schedule, feeding schedule and the never ending haying in the summer and trying to stay warm in the winter. Our first winter in Wisconsin, we had thirty-six inches of snow in one storm and were snowed in our house for three days! Needless to say, I wasn’t loving Wisconsin.
I am now married with four children and three grandchildren. I have learned to love Wisconsin, though I still hate snow. Wisconsin and the United States are beautiful and my husband and I travel around by motorcycle seeing new sites and meeting new people. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are interested in where we are going and what we have seen along the way. At every gas station, restaurant and hotel, we have people come up to us and ask us about what we are doing and offering advice on which roads in the area are better than others and great rides others have been on if we are interested.
I come from a family of veterans. My grandfather, father, brother and two of my sons and one daughter-in-law are all veterans. Needless to say, I am proud. Proud to be an American and proud of the service my amazing family has given.

Righting the Past
4.5 stars - The past has returned to Caiden, but not exactly willingly. I like the gentle way he re-enters Mia's world. And the story following is really good. I love how they reconnect and the road they travel to bring justice forth. ⚖️ 🔫
With the chaos and disruption to life all around them, this kind of stuck out. 😆 It's the little things. Oh, and then there's the BIG thing that happens on said plane. 🤩🔥🥳

The narrators were a great choice as they brought out the suspense of the story and the love that Caiden and Mia have always had for each other.

Great read! Wonderful addition to the series.
Once Caiden and Mia get over the shock and excitement of reconnecting after so many lost years, they get to work continuing RAPTOR’s investigation into the trafficking and the scumbag masterminds behind it all. With Mia’s help – digging through her reporter notes from the previous victims has helped Caiden and the team connect some missing dots and provided new leads to follow. As they get closer to the head honcho, Mia gets pulled more personally into the danger they are tracking and Caiden takes a personal interest – with help from his team, in her protection. While vested deeply in the investigation, Caiden and Mia also have time to reconnect, share their feelings, explore their pain and regret, make new decisions, and move forward with their long-lost relationship.
I loved seeing these two together. Mia suffered a terrible tragedy in her youth that caused her to flee her life, leaving everything and everyone behind- thinking she was dead. She pushed forward and remade herself into a strong, capable, young woman who could hold her own; and wanted to make a difference in the stories she told. Yet she was always fearful and looking over her shoulder for the other shoe to drop at a moment’s notice. That other shoe happened to be Caiden- when he realized she was alive and tracked her down in Vegas. Watching them together and reconnecting was amazing. I enjoyed seeing the tender, emotional side of Caiden as he tried to reconcile his feelings of past and present and move forward. He was gentle, yet stern and understanding and let her make her own decisions regarding helping them or not. He showed his protective side but did not smother her- letting her into their investigation, sharing leads, and making plans. They made a great couple and it was awesome to see them find their HEA.
This is a page-turner from start to finish with engaging characters, a pulse-pounding storyline, and an emotional rekindled romance with a perfect ending for this couple.

Wow! Ms. Fiala, it seemed forever to happen.
However, when Caiden's story got here it was absolutely worth the wait.
I'm loved the uniqueness of Caiden's and Mia's novel. Oh yeah, Mia is the heroine to Caiden's hero.
A glimpse in a picture takes Caiden back 16 years to a young woman he lost and worried was dead. So many rumors existed, all of which Caiden knew weren't Mia, but he left his dreams and entered the military. From there, Caiden ended being part of Raptor, which is part of the amazing Ghost.
Repeatedly bothering Royce and Piper on their honeymoon he has a beginning, from there he searches for Mia.
Together, Mia scared but willing to talk to the young man she loved, they begin two different investigations simultaneously. Naturally, there's some PJ Fiala chaos and stomach clenching while you read.
Once again, however, the author delivers an amazing novel within them Raptor family.
The total unusualness of Raptor agents is something I absolutely love, (no give aways).
This novel continues from Piper's and Royce's, yet it is able to be read alone.
But! If you haven't read PJ Fiala, you are missing out! And, while "Missing Mia" can be read alone, you truly miss the scope of these terrific characters if you do not start with the first Ghost novel (including prequel which will have you laughing) and go forth to Mia and Caiden's novel. Catch up! You will not be disappointed. The wonderful, PJ Fiala, has blessed us with all novels being Kindle Unlimited!
Before I began the Ghost and Raptor journey, Ms. Fiala, I was already a huge fan. You just keep getting better!

Let me start by saying I did like this book. I especially loved Caiden. PJ Fiala always does a wonderful job in creating her alpha male hero. Caiden is strong and protective and understanding. I did like that in this 2nd chance romance they didn't just fall back into their relationship and that it built over time. I also liked the main plot story about why Mia left, why she stayed away, and the suspense element of ensuring the villain can never hurt her. However I had two issues here. The first was that if you are so afraid to be caught and are running for your life worrying the villain will locate you, then why would you run to one place (and Vegas of all places which is one of the biggest tourist locations and a potential place where your villain could possibly go) and then just stay there for years and years? Wouldn't you move someplace way off the grid and possibly move even more than one time to ensure you couldn't be found easily? The other issue I had was she spent years worrying he would get her and then, once Caiden is with her, they both worry he will come after her and kill her. Yet our villain never did before and throughout the book he never really goes after her. I really wanted a climactic moment where her fears potentially happen and then our villain is caught. Instead they are able to bring down our bad buy in a more sedate manner. Again, I did enjoy this book and loved the characters, I just wanted a bit suspense from the suspense.

Caiden and Mia's story is bittersweet as they have been apart for 16 years. Mia has been on the run from the man who murdered her mom in front of her. She was just 17 years old and fled her hometown without a word to anyone. Now 16 years later she reports on a human trafficking story that brings her high school sweetheart, Caiden, back into her life.
I enjoyed reading this story even though parts of it brought tears to my eyes. Mia and Caiden missed out on so much. The family she has left also missed out and suffered as she did. Mia is an amazing character. I liked her from the beginning. She is smart, a bit sassy, brave, and she is independent. You could feel Mia's pain as she relived her worst nightmare. Ms. Fiala pulls you into her story and all the emotions that go with it. Caiden's character is strong, protective sexy, and he isn't afraid to show emotion. He lets her see his tears and well that's not like most alpha male characters.
I received this as an ARC through Bookfunnel. I liked it so much that I preordered it.
I look forward to the next story in the series as RAPTOR is getting closer and closer to the bad guys. It's been an exciting ride that just gets better and better.

Mia Gregory has been on the tun for most of her life after witnessing the murder of her mother when she was young she learnt to stay hidden or die. As an adult and working as a journalist, the is determined to ferret out those who bring harm to women and children and shine a bright light on them. She certainly never dreamed of finding her long old love or her brother in the same year. Can she put her fear aside and allow Caiden to help her? Will they be able to rekindle their love?
I really enjoyed this book which had the story of Mia, her past, how it affected Caiden and how they progressed the child abuse case as well as free Mia to have her own life. I loved the relationship between Caiden and Mia and the way that the whole team pulled together in order to help keep her safe and help to give them both a chance at a future together. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

fantastic series!
RAPTOR agent Caiden Marx has just discovered his highschool love, who he’d thought dead after her mother was discovered murdered, is alive. Mia has been in hiding for the last 16yrs fearing retribution from her mothers murderer, who she whitenessed committing the crime. In the last book of this series Mia’s character was introduced as the reporter that told the stories of the 10 or so women the RAPTOR team had rescued from traffickers. One of the traffickers being their nemesis Sgt Dilano. Mia’s article has put her in danger as Dilano thinks he can use Mia to help him retrieve the rescued women that he has buyers for. Luckily Caiden finds Mia just in time to protect her as his team continues to follow leads to bring down this trafficking ring that reaches across many states and all the way to Russia. With Caiden’s team’s help Mia goes to the authorities to clear her name and put her mother’s murderer behind bars and reconnecting Mia with her past as their 16yr old romance rekindles like no time has passed. This Fast paced series has lots of action and information that flows smoothly keeping you turning those pages and scrambling into the next book! LOVE IT!

This is a standalone but part of a connected series.
I haven't read any of the other books from the series but I don't feel like I was missing out, other characters from the series are mentioned throughout the book.
This book follows Caiden and Mia's story. They were high-school sweethearts until Mia just disappeared after the murder of her mother.
For me, the reason Mia left is easy to understand, but why she stayed away once she'd had time to think and certainly once she'd grown into an adult was a mystery to me. She was also attempting to stay hidden, but with the measures she'd taken, if someone wanted to find her it wouldnt have taken them lon at all. Once I ignored this element, the rest of the story was very enjoyable.
This book has a good mix of romance and suspense, there's an investigation into trafficking and we also see Mia and Caiden getting to know each other again.
I liked all the other characters, they way they worked as a team really pulled you into the suspense - it certainly makes me want to read other books in the series and find out more about their stories.
I listened to this book as an audio and the narrators did a great job. It was a duel narration, with each taking their respective chapters.

Brought tears to my eyes
Imagine watching your mother get her throat slit and bleed out in front of you. That's what happened to Mia before she takes off running for her life. She's been hiding in plain sight (in Las Vegas) for years working as a reporter. When Caiden hears her name as the team reads an article she's written he's determined to find out if she's his Mia from his past. When they were kids, they loved each other and then she broke his heart when she took off without explanation. When Caiden interrupts her breakfast one morning during a job in Vegas, she's speechless, but the two of them still feel that love between them that never went away. Now the guy who killed her mother is on to has as well as the people who are running the human trafficking ring, all because of Mia's most recent article exposing just a bit too much to be comfortable. The who!e RAPTOR force is after this gang and since she's being protected by Caiden, they are watching g after her too. This is a very touching story, from the young Russian woman Mia meets when they are both locked in a storage container, to when Mia reunites with her aunt and brother, both of whom thought her dead. There's no way you can get wrapped up in this story without getting a bit choked up.

This is a fab story in this RAPTOR series and I highly recommend you read these books in order because Mia is mentioned a few times and you realise how her past has impacted on so much for both of them. Theses books keep on getting better and better.

This is a fab story in this RAPTOR series and I highly recommend you read these books in order because Mia is mentioned a few times and you realise how her past has impacted on so much for both of them. Theses books keep on getting better and better.

Mia Gregory was 17 when she witnessed her mother being murdered. She ran and has been hiding since. She's a reporter at the Vegas Herald using a different last name and has made it her mission to rat out those who have or will bring harm to women and children. She just had a story go live that brings her face to face with Caiden Marx.
Caiden Marx served in the Army 8 years and after re-upping he was on deployment when the vehicle in front of him hit an IED and they were engulfed in flames causing damage to his lungs. Now he's a RAPTOR operative and on a mission in Las Vegas when he sees what he thinks is a ghost, Mia.
They were a couple back before everything happened and Caiden thought she had been killed but really didn't know for sure until now. Now they are on a mission working together to bring down these people. Can Mia put all her fears to rest and allow Caiden and his people to help clear her name? Will they get back what they had and find love together again?
Once again Ms. Fiala brings to light issues that happen in the world. There are twists and turns, definitely a page turner.

What an awesome book! We are back with the RAPTOR operatives as they are closing in on the despicable human traffickers... and Dilano. He is the nemesis they all want brought to justice, no matter what it takes. Caiden thought his high school sweetheart Mia had died 16 years ago. He is shocked when he sees an article written about the trafficked women, and the reporter looks just like Mia. He is determined to find this woman. Mia has been hiding in plain sight in Vegas for 16 years. She ran for her life after witnessing something horrible. Imagine her shock when Caiden walks into the diner where she frequently has breakfast. After they both got over the shock of seeing each other after so many years, they have a heart to heart talk and Mia explained why she left so long ago. He vows to help her get free from the man who caused her to run. Together, they work with the RAPTOR team to bring down the traffickers, and hopefully get the HEA they deserve. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.

What an amazing series this has been. Each story gets better and better. Raptor is a group of special individuals who look out for each other. Mia hasn’t seen Caiden in sixteen years. He assumed she was dead. He didn’t know what to make of the rumors following her mother’s death and Mia’s disappearance. Now he has found her, and all his questions are answered. Because of her occupation she has become involved in Raptor’s latest case. She bas been on the run for the last 16 years. She has never trusted anyone. Never got close to anyone for fear of her life.
But now she is with Caiden, and he is never letter her go. He will protect her at all costs. She has never forgotten him, and he has never forgotten her.
Always and Forever they will be.
She can finally live and not fear for her life and not always look over her shoulder, never letting her guard down. The love she shared with Caiden all those years ago is still there and together they can have their happily ever after.
But now she is with Caiden, and he is never letter her go. He will protect her at all costs. She has never forgotten him, and he has never forgotten her.
Always and Forever they will be.

Another great story in the world of R.A.P.T.O.R a group pf injured military personal who have made it their mission to take down anyone who hurts women and children This latest story is Caiden Marx he received major breathing airway and lung injuries when he was in an IED explosion but by making sure he keeps himself fit and healthy he is still able to do his job at R.A.P.T.O.R especially as he is usually the one behind the computer in the cyber department That all changes when he sees a face from his past on a previous case He always believed the Mia was dead after she disappeared when her mother was murdered and she was suspected of it something he never believed in fact she was part of the reason he joined the military Now he is determined to track her down and in the process he learns she also works to protect innocent women and children but her past is about to catch up to her can Caiden and R.A.P.T.O.R keep her safe and will her mother finally get justice. be prepared for a wild ride in this latest instalment of this fun series

I received this as an arc for an honest and voluntary review. This is the 5th book in the series, and a second chance romance. While you can read it as a stand alone I found that if you read Promising Piper, Raptor Book Four, you had a better understanding of a few events. But again, you're not lost if you didn't.
Caiden and Mia were high school sweethearts until she disappeared after her mother was found murdered. There were rumors about their small town as to what really happened, none of which were the truth. Mia fled to Las Vegas, I mean if you're going to hide, what better place? What happens in Vegas... She got her GED, got a college education, and got a job as a reporter. Which is how she crossed paths with Caiden in Promising Piper.
Caiden wasn't leaving Vegas without some answers and preferably the only girl he'd ever loved. However her last story is going to follow her, because folks are not happy their Human Trafficking ring got broke up.

Caiden and Mia were high school sweethearts until she disappeared when her Mother was killed. Caiden was devastated and didn't know what to believe with all the rumors swirling around. But Mia witnessed her Mother's death and listened when she told her to run and she's been running ever since. Caiden is a member of RAPTOR and devotes his life to helping women and children in danger. Mia has become a reporter and also focuses on saving women and children. They cross paths in Las Vegas when they are both working with the same group of women saved by RAPTOR. For Caiden it's like seeing a ghost, one he doesn't plan to let go of a 2nd time. They work together to finish the case RAPTOR is working on and then go back to their hometown to get rid of those who Mia has been running from. It's a beautiful story between the two. You won't want to miss this one, or put it down.

The story flowed beautifully with little to no drama between them….loved it. Suspense, secrets, heart warming reunions, some action and steam, made it a read I couldn’t put down.

Wonderful, suspenseful, emotional, page turner Raptor series romance. I couldn't put it down. Caiden Marx thought he lost his girlfriend in high school. Mia disappeared after her Mother's murder. Sixteen years later, he's working a case in Vegas. Raptor works to help shut down traffickers of women and children. He sees a picture of the reporter that does the story of the women they rescued during the Container case. He's stunned, it looks like Mia.
Raptors case is ongoing, trying to find an ex operative that turned traitor and the big men doing the trafficking. He tracks down Mia. He helps clear her past and she helps with his case. Your not going want to miss all the twists and turns. This is their story.

Even though she is trying to hide, Caiden would know her anywhere .. the love of his life and he will do everything and anything in his power NOT to loose her again.
Can they get the sex traffickers while proving Mia’s innocence so they can have a long life together or will work and drug dealers keep them apart ??

I loved Missing Mia. Caiden and Mia have amazing chemistry and their reunion is very moving. Mia is so intelligent and her actions to survive are very clever. Both Caiden and Mia are well developed, rounded characters as are the supporting characters in the story. The plot in Missing Mia kept me on the edge of my chair and I stayed up far too late reading 'just one more chapter' - both times I read it! Even though I have not read other books in the series, that didn't affect my enjoyment of this book. I can't wait to read more of the books in the series. In case you couldn't tell, I highly recommend Missing Mia!

Caiden and Mia were high school sweethearts and then he was told she died! He’s crushing and this changed him. He’s a member of Raptor and is super protective of women and children that are getting taken into sex trafficking. He’s working hard to save all that he can. Mia had seen her mother killed as a younger child and she’d told her to run and stay hidden before she died. She’s been in the run for 16 years and is a journalist that puts light on sex trafficking. When Caiden in is Vegas checking out things he sees her and thinks he’s seeing a ghost! They get together and he wants answers and she tells him. Together they work to bring as much of this to stop and get caught. Will they get a second chance? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Caiden became a fierce protector of women and children at RAPTOR after losing his high school sweetheart to violence. Caiden and his team are working hard on the continued plot of taking down large trafficking ring when he sees a face of someone he’s been looking for since high school. Mia Gregory has been living a life on the run since she saw her mother murdered and never allowed herself to look back. Mia never imagined that Caiden would walk back into her life and help her finally feel safe. This book was really good and I couldn’t stop listening. I’m glad that they got their HEA but their mission to stop the trafficking ring that brought them back into each other’s lives is just beginning. (I’m on to the next to figure out the rest of the story!)

This book is exactly the same as the first 4 in this series: it's very well written, with strong heroes and heroines, a bit of mystery, lots of action and some very sweet scenes.
The closeness and friendships between the team members is as strong as ever.
Cade's parents are too funny and the proposal was one of the most unromantic ones I've read about - couldn't be more short and simple lolll
I highly recommend you get this book as well as the rest of the series: you won't regret it !
